Pengujian Aplikasi Homestay Kosasih: Analisis Fungsionalitas Dan Penerimaan Pengguna Menggunakan Metode Black Box Dan UAT

The research focuses on evaluating the functionality of the Homestay Kosasih application, particularly in terms of user interaction, data management, and user satisfaction. This study combines Black box Testing and UAT methods to provide a comprehensive understanding of the application's quality and performance. The research aims to assess the application's functional features, focusing on user interface, ease of use, and the application's ability to meet user expectations. Through analysis, this study will provide a thorough understanding of the application's quality and also measure the level of user satisfaction with the hotel reservation application, involving assessments of user interface, ease of use, and the application's success in meeting user expectations. The results show that the Homestay Kosasih application exhibits good functionality with 80.9% valid test cases and good user acceptance with an average score of 74.39% from 40 respondents. Therefore, it can be concluded that the entire series of application testing for Homestay Kosasih is deemed good.

Feature Selection Based on Artificial Bee Colony and Gradient Boosting Decision Tree for Hotel Reservation Cancellation Prediction Using Random Forest

This study focuses on predicting hotel booking cancellations using machine learning to improve accuracy and operational efficiency. The methods used include Random Forest, Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), and Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT). ABC, which excels in optimization but is prone to local optima, is combined with GBDT for feature selection. The dataset used is Hotel_Bookings from Kaggle, with 119,390 entries and 28 features. The data is processed through cleansing, normalization, and split into 75% for training and 25% for testing. Feature selection is performed using ABC and GBDT, and the prediction model is built using Random Forest. Model evaluation using confusion matrix and metrics like precision, recall, f1-score, and accuracy shows accuracies of 86.17% and 86.65% for ABC and GBDT, respectively. Increasing the number of trees and features generally improves model performance, with feature selection showing significant performance improvements compared to models without feature selection.

SRank: Guiding schema selection in NoSQL document stores

The rise of big data has led to a greater need for applications to change their schema frequently. NoSQL databases provide flexibility in organizing data and offer multiple choices for structuring and storing similar information. While schema flexibility speeds up initial development, choosing schemas wisely is crucial, as they significantly impact performance, affecting data redundancy, navigation cost, data access cost, and maintainability. This paper emphasizes the importance of schema design in NoSQL document stores. It proposes a model to analyze and evaluate different schema alternatives and suggest the best schema out of various schema alternatives. The model is divided into four phases. The model inputs the Entity-Relationship (ER) model and workload queries. In the Transformation Phase, the schema alternatives are initially developed for each ER model, and subsequently, a schema graph is generated for each alternative. Concurrently, workload queries undergo conversion into query graphs. In the Schema Evaluation phase, the Schema Rank (SRank) is calculated for each schema alternative using query metrics derived from the query graphs and path coverage generated from the schema graphs. Finally, in the Output phase, the schema with the highest SRank is recommended as the most suitable choice for the application. The paper includes a case study of a Hotel Reservation System (HRS) to demonstrate the application of the proposed model. It comprehensively evaluates various schema alternatives based on query response time, storage efficiency, scalability, throughput, and latency. The paper validates the SRank computation for schema selection in NoSQL databases through an extensive experimental study. The alignment of SRank values with each schema's performance metrics underscores this ranking system's effectiveness. The SRank simplifies the schema selection process, assisting users in making informed decisions by reducing the time, cost, and effort of identifying the optimal schema for NoSQL document stores.

The Concepts of Shariah-Compliance for Hotel Reservation in Malaysia: A Review

Hotels have started implementing Shariah Compliant Hotel (SCH) practices due to increasing demand for Shariah Compliant services and facilities from Muslim travellers. Basic principles and attributes of SCH concepts were designed and developed, however, current room reservations especially in online booking platforms that support SCH concepts were not widely practised. This study aims to review previous studies on SCH practices and propose the concept of SCH reservations toward online booking platforms. This study has identified several issues and challenges, including issues on SCH concepts and characteristics and/or attributes, issues on the perceptions and behaviours toward SCH implementation, and issues on how SCH is being implemented. Besides that, this study also finds that the key aspects of SCH research are divided into 4 main aspects; design and development of the SCH concept, characteristics and attribution, the SCH implementation, assessment of SCH implementation, and customer/tourist perceptions and behaviour toward SCH implementations. This study also suggests the concept of integrating SCH concepts into the current online booking platform, via having 4 processes; improving the current online booking platform database design, improving the process of applying SCH practices, validating hotel’s applications, and integrating and viewing SCH in online booking platform.

The objective of this research is to analyse the factors that influence hotel booking decisions. In Spain, the hotel industry plays a crucial role, making it essential to understand what elements motivate consumers to make hotel reservations. To address this issue, several key factors are considered, such as the IACM theory of eWOM, habit, attitude, and enjoyment. These elements are considered fundamental to understanding consumer motivations in the hotel booking process. In this study, structural equation analysis is used to examine and measure the relationships between these factors. The goal is to determine the influence that each of these factors has on consumers' final hotel booking decisions. The findings of this research will contribute to the knowledge and understanding of consumer behaviour in relation to hotel reservations. They will also be highly beneficial to the hotel industry, as these insights can be used to enhance the offerings and consumer experience in hotel establishments.

Digital technologies for the development of sustainable tourism in mountain areas

The promotion of sustainable tourism models in mountain areas represents a critical success factor for the territory and the environment. In political and economic literature there has been much debate in the attempt to interpret the phenomenon of growth and development with the changing socio-economic environment. Today the topic remains at the center of the debate of many economic policy authorities due to the exodus phenomena occurring in internal areas. In this study, we examined how the resources of mountain areas can create income opportunities as a function of the diffusion of sustainable income. On the one hand, in mountain environments, we have natural resources that represent common goods that must be maintained precisely according to the opportunities they create for sustainable tourism where they represent its essential feature. The complexity of the economic phenomena, which on the one hand leads to an exodus from these environments, determines the need to create new management structures, that can satisfy the needs of the local community and guarantee appropriate management of natural resources. In this study, we analyzed the relationships between sustainable tourism models and natural resource management considering the case of the Ficuzza Forest and applying new digital technologies such as mobile apps that allow you to make hotel reservations, read reviews about the best restaurant in the area, and buy museum tickets to avoid the queue. Starting from the theoretical framework, and subsequently analyzing the empirical case, we highlighted the utility flows that descend from the Bosco. The resulting results have considerable relevance for the planning of mountain territories. The study highlights that the interconnection between public and private management models can guarantee the growth and development of mountain territories.

Forecasting hotel cancellations through machine learning

AbstractAccurate and reliable forecasting of cancellations is important for successful revenue management in the tourism industry. The objective of this study is to develop classification models to predict hotel booking cancellations. The work involves a number of key steps, such as data preprocessing to properly prepare the data; feature engineering to identify relevant attributes to help improve the predictive ability of the models; hyperparameter settings of the models, including choice of optimizers and incorporation of dropout layers to avoid overfitting in the neural networks; potential overfitting is evaluated using K‐fold cross‐validation; and performance is analysed using the confusion matrix and various performance metrics. The algorithms used are Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network, Radial Basis Function Neural Network, Deep Neural Network, Decision Tree Classifier, Random Forest Classifier, Ada Boost Classifier and XgBoost Classifier. Finally, the results of all models are compared, visualizing Deep Neural Network and XgBoost as the most suitable models for predicting hotel reservation cancellations.

In China, the rapid expansion of mobile hotel reservation apps has led to an information overload, resulting in pricing complexity, user confusion, and subsequent booking delays. In the context of mobile hotel booking app services in China, this study empirically examined the relationships between price complexity, consumer confusion, shopping fatigue, and purchase delay. Additionally, it also tested the mediating effect of shopping fatigue and both the moderating and the moderated mediation effects of reservation experience on these relationships. To this end, an online survey targeting Chinese consumers with an experience of booking hotels using mobile apps in China was carried out, and a total of 305 valid responses were analyzed. The key findings are as follows. Firstly, both the price complexity and consumer confusion exerted positive impacts on shopping fatigue and purchase delay. Secondly, shopping fatigue positively impacted purchase delay. Furthermore, shopping fatigue partially mediated the relationship between price complexity, consumer confusion, and purchase delay. Finally, reservation experience significantly influenced the relationship between consumer confusion and purchase delay, serving as a moderating factor and as a moderated mediating factor. The findings of this study can help enrich the understanding and knowledge base in the hotel reservation domain and devise practical and effective solutions to tackle related challenges.

Assessment of renewable power generation applied in homestay hotels: Energy and cost-benefit considering dynamic occupancy rates and reservation prices

Increasing the revenue from hotel operations and decreasing the stress on utility grids from hotel energy consumption are two priorities for the modern tourism industry. Dynamic occupancy rate and hotel reservation prices influence their operations revenue, while occupancy rate also impacts real hotel energy consumption. Renewable power generation as an effective measure can benefit hotels not only by decreasing electricity purchases but also increasing some extra income from selling electricity generated from renewable sources. This study investigated the effects of renewable power generation on energy and the cost-benefit performance of hotel operation prices under different occupancy rates and reservation prices. A two-stage energy and cost-benefit performance assessment and a novel comprehensive cost-benefit assessment model were developed to examine these research issues. The impact of the renewable power generation system (i.e., a photovoltaic-battery system installed on the building rooftop) was considered on the hotel energy and cost-benefit performance. It was found that the novel cost-benefit assessment model accurately quantified the overall hotel profit by calculating its energy consumption cost with the PV-battery system under different occupancy rates and reservation prices. Three typical homestay hotels located in Sanya were tested and assessed. The results showed that PV-battery systems effectively decreased the amount of electricity purchased by hotels. Besides, the renewable energy penetration was above 57.98% in various cases. The overall hotel profit increased by a maximum of 31.4% since renewable power generation was used under different occupancy rates and hotel reservation prices.

Antecedents of Customer Loyalty in Mobile Hotel Reservation Applications

This study aims to identify the determinants of customer loyalty in mobile hotel booking applications (MOHOREAPP) in Turkey. The research developed a model integrating variables such as performance expectancy, trust, social influence, customer satisfaction, convenience, compatibility, perceived risk, and loyalty, which was examined using structural equation modeling. A survey was conducted, and data were collected from 511 MOHOREAPP users across Turkey. The results indicate that performance expectancy and trust have a significant relationship with MOHOREAPP customer satisfaction. It was found that performance expectancy and trust have a positive and significant effect on loyalty. Additionally, customer satisfaction, convenience, and compatibility have a positive effect on loyalty, while perceived risk has been identified to have a negative effect on loyalty. These findings provide important insights for companies developing mobile hotel booking applications, highlighting the areas to focus on to increase customer loyalty. Consequently, this study makes a critical contribution to understanding the factors that influence the loyalty of MOHOREAPP users and in shaping customer relationship strategies

Implication of Online Consumer Reviews on Hotel Bookings in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Travellers are increasingly shifting to booking hotels online to save time, minimize costs and enjoy the convenience it brings. In this study, the implications of online consumer reviews were examined to understand how it affects hotel bookings in Saudi Arabia. The study’s constructs were trust, valence, volume, realism and hotel booking intentions. Structural equation modelling and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the results from 400 respondents. It was found that the Saudi Arabian's intentions to trust on online hotel reviews are influenced significantly by the valence and realism of the reviews. The hotel booking intentions are significantly influenced by trust, valence, and realism of the reviews. The volume of reviews did not have a statistically significant influence on trust on the online reviews or the hotel booking intentions. Therefore, the study concludes that the valence, realism, and trust on online reviews are significant in shaping hotel reservation intentions.
