Background : Issues of ASEAN Free Trade Area ( AFTA ) and globalization of the world economy demands which is every profit and non-profit organizations to compete in marketing and resource. The changes, requires hospitals to survive among competitors that would appear at any moment. Therefore , Human Resources (HR) hospitals must be able to respond it. HR needs proper planning in accordance with the service requirements of each unit in accordance with the classification of hospitals based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health ( Permenkes ) number 56 of 2014 as well as national accreditation standard version of the Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals 2012 ( KARS ). So the RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Unit II will head the hospital type B and accreditation .Methods: The study design was qualitative used in-depth interviews and quantitative method for analyzing a plan about between condition HR today and the need for hospital accreditation of type B and KARS version 2012. While quantitative data obtained through questionnaires Need Assessment journal guidelines on Managerial Competency Development at Provincial and District HospitalsResults : Based on the research results, there is a shortage of human resources about the type and number according to hospital type B and for the accreditation of 99 elements document ratings are 96 % complete . As for performance assessment PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Unit II responsibility for the examination and treatment, training, science and research, issues of hospital management which is indispensable. To support the referral level, in terms of both treatment and prevention. As well as for international cooperation needs to be improved. While the assessment of training needs at the level of priority on the entire item, respondents give a high priority level assessment.Conclusion : There is a shortage of the type and quantity of human resources between the condition of human resources today and the provisions of hospital type B and there are some completeness of documents for the accreditation of qualifications assessment and education staff KARS 2012 version. Concern to quality service in nowadays becoming global issue that triggered by consciousness to give best service for patient or by request from eksternal side of hospital. Goverment push hospital to give good quality of service by giving evaluation of hospital standarization. PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jogjakarta unit II which new one of health service unit right now striving to improve quality of service. Result of the beginning observation findout evaluation of activity are often neglected, particularly on unit emergency. The objective of this observation is to find out performance and quality culture in management unit emergency of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jogjakarta unit II, This observation using qualitative method with case study as observation plan that using interview as observation instrument involving board of management and officer of unit emergency of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jogjakarta unit II. The Self Assesment accreditation in 2008 and first edition of accreditation standard in 2012 result show that quality service standard that using by unit emergency of PKU Muhammadiyah Jogjakarta unit II for develop their quality of service its guided line for survey of hospital accreditation in 2008 instructed by Indonesia health ministry that poured into activity guidance of unit emergency, but because lack availability of unit emergency officer make unit emergency can’t support implementation of unit emergency activity guidance. Working culture in unit emergency of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jogjakarta unit II its only doing fast emergency response but not yet support quality service development because not yet develop service evaluation process. Service process evaluation hard to do because of limitation number of human resource. The result of unit emergency performance show by AKPPGD, DOA and result of accreditation in 2008 already achieve the standard, but not yet fulfill quality standard evaluation of health service management base on first edition of accreditation in 2012.

Information Technology-Based Medical Record Governance For Cancer Classification With The Waterfall Method

Information technology can help improve the quality of medical record management. Information technology-based medical record management can help improve the efficiency, accuracy and accessibility of medical records. The aim of this research is to build an information technology-based medical record management system for cancer classification using the waterfall method. This research uses a system development research method using the waterfall method. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and literature study. The data that has been collected is then analyzed qualitatively. The research results show that an information system designed specifically for patients who register directly makes it easier for officers to separate patients who register online from those who register in person. This system allows officers to report information quickly and accurately, and to be better integrated in quality improvement and hospital accreditation.

A Systematic Review: Early Warning System for Hospital Wards

Most of the unexpected events occur in the hospital wards. An Early Warning System (EWS) is a system created to identify worsening patients outside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). EWS is one of the requirements that must be met to get hospital accreditation. Hospitals have to choose the appropriate EWS to get optimal outcomes. This study aims to describe some of the EWS in the wards that have been researched and developed, as well as their performance in predicting severe adverse events (SAE). This study is a literature review design, conducting a systematic review by selecting relevant articles on Pub Med and Science Direct using the keyword "Early Warning Systems" in the 2018-2023 period. Out of 269 articles, only 12 articles that met the criteria. The selected articles are then systematically reviewed and analyzed. Based on the extraction results of 12 articles, 9 EWS were grouped into National Early Warning Score (NEWS) and its variants, Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS) and its variants, and EWS integrated with Electronic Medical Record (EMR). In choosing an EWS, hospitals must consider the complexity of the cases being managed and the capabilities of existing resources. The recommended EWS in hospital wards with limited resources is weighted EWS or EWS with combinations, such as NEWS and MEWS with variants. Meanwhile, hospitals that have used EMR can choose EWS integrated with EMR to increase their predictive value for SAE, as well as improve protocol compliance.

Implementation of Risk Management in The Medical Records Work Unit Reviewed From National Standards For Hospital Accreditation Through A Systematic Literature Review Approach

The hospital, there is no denying the possibility of unwanted or unexpected negative impacts in work activities, one of which is in the medical records work unit. The aim of the research is to determine the implementation of risk management in the medical records work unit in terms of the National Hospital Accreditation Standards. The research method used was a Systematic Literature Review with a search strategy using Google Scholar results criteria with the keywords "Risk management of medical records work units OR Risk management of medical records work units based on SNARS". The research results were obtained from an in-depth analysis of 6 journal articles, there was a link between the journal articles reviewed and the implementation of risk management in the medical records work unit in terms of the National Hospital Accreditation Standards where the problems found on average occurred in MIRM 12 Standards related to the determination of diagnosis code standards , procedure/action codes, symbols, abbreviations and their meanings, MIRM Standard 13 relating to the provision of medical records for each patient in hospitals, MIRM Standard 13.2 relating to hospital regulations which identify those who have the right to fill in patient medical records and determine the contents of medical records and format medical records, MIRM Standard 13.3 relates to filling in medical records by Professional Care Providers (PPA) by writing identification after the recording is made and MIRM Standard 13.4 relates to performance improvement efforts and hospitals regularly evaluating or reviewing medical records. The risk levels in the medical records work unit from these articles show that the risk categories are "Acceptable" (the intensity of risk is reduced to a minimum) to "Substantial" (requires technical improvement).

The Effect Of Health Service Quality Dimensions On Outpatient Satisfaction At Plenary Accredited Hospitals

Measuring patient perceptions of healthcare service quality as an important element in assessing service quality has attracted much post-covid-19 attention in recent years. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the quality of clinical services at accredited hospitals in Medan and Binjai. This cross-sectional study was conducted from May to August 2022, and 190 patients were randomly selected from two hospitals. Data was collected using a questionnaire whose validity and reliability had been confirmed in previous studies. T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated using SPSS to analyze the data. The bivariate test results showed a relationship between service quality dimensions and patient satisfaction at RSUD Dr. Pringadi and Dr. R.M. Djoelham. Multivariate testsfound that the dominant factors influencing patient satisfaction at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi Medan are l evidence, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. And for Dr. General Hospital. RM Djoelham Binjai is a tangible factor, reliability, responsiveness, and empathy. So that it can be concluded that to increase patient satisfaction, speed support is needed in services such as providing a fast response to every patient complaint, as well as providing short and responsive service to patient needs, bearing in mind that patient needs are urgent needs that must be met immediately.

Community Service Effective Communication in Mutualism Collaboration in The Framework of Hospital Accreditation 2023

Problem solving in improving the status of health and nursing services with the aim of improving service arrangements, shortening length of stay. and improving public health welfare is by equipping health and nursing workers with the ability to provide effective services. Services are provided with the aim of equipping them with technical skills in providing services to patients and families. The method used is training in the form of providing material and simulation at the end of the activity in the form of study cases and Play Group Simulation in team work. In carrying out the activity, an evaluation of the activity and evaluation of the presenters was carried out in the form of a questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire showed that 96 percent said that the presenters and the material presented were very satisfying, and 4 percent were satisfactory. Meanwhile, 85 percent of activity evaluations said they were very satisfactory, 7 percent said they were satisfactory and 8 percent said they were quite satisfactory. Based on the evaluation results of the training, participants said that this activity was very useful and should become a routine agenda for improvement quality service health.

Phenomenological Study of the Implementation of Digitalization in the Management of Medical Hazardous Waste

This study aims to describe the process of implementing digitalization in the management of hazardous medical waste (B3 waste) at RSIA Siti Hawa Padang. The sub-focus of this research includes providing an overview of the application of Festronik, a description of the Festronik usage process, an overview of the benefits of using Festronik, and an overview of the management of hazardous medical waste and its environmental impact. The research method employed is qualitative, exploring the phenomenon in-depth. Data were obtained through interviews with 10 informants, comprising 2 primary informants and 8 key informants from RSIA Siti Hawa Padang. Sample selection was carried out using purposive sampling to ensure a comprehensive understanding. Data analysis in this study used Collaizi's nine-step data interpretation method (1978). The findings of this research reveal a comprehensive understanding of the general implementation of digitalization through Festronik at RSIA Siti Hawa Padang. The application of Festronik enhances the effectiveness of hazardous medical waste management, improves hospital accreditation assessments, and effective hazardous medical waste management has a positive impact on the hospital's environmental health.

Detection of tetracycline and ampicillin resistant E. coli and Salmonella species from hospital wastewater

Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Salmonella spp. were found in hospital wastewater. The highest (E = (6.2 ± 1.8) x 109; S = (4.3 ± 2.2) x 109) and lowest (E = (1.4 ± 1.2) x 109; S = (1.1 ± 1.8) x 109) Total Viable Count (TVC) were in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital (SSMCH) and National Institute of Ophthalmology Hospital (NIOH), respectively. The overall occurrence of E. coli and Salmonella spp. was 80% and 87%, respectively, with 100% occurrence in SSMCH and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Hospital (NICVDH) for Salmonella spp. (p ≤ 0.036). Prevalence of E. coli was low (72%) in winter (November - February). Both types of bacteria were resistant to Tetracycline whereas and 97.5% of E coli were resistant to ampicillin. Gentamycin was more effective than other antibiotics. Rational use of antibiotics is suggested, and hospital management practice should be followed as defined by the Joint Commission International for Hospital Accreditation.

Point of Use Treatment for Medical Devices: From Bedside to Battlefield.

Point of use (POU) treatment is a critical first step of medical device reprocessing. Reusable instruments and flexible endoscopes require a minimum of terminal sterilization or high-level disinfection, neither of which can be guaranteed if POU is performed incorrectly. Compliance considerations for POU include hospital accreditation readiness, unique austere surgical mission requirements, and the transition of future conflict towards Large Scale Combat Operations. This integrative review aims to describe POU for reusable instruments and endoscopes, and extrapolate implications for Military Health System policies and future considerations. The authors performed an integrative review and comprehensive literature search in PubMed and CINAHL with the keywords "point of use," "point of use cleaning," "POU," "instrument," "high-level disinfection," "endoscope," and "clean." Articles were limited to "English" and "human" from 2017 to 2023. The authors also performed a thorough review of the Defense Health Agency and service-specific doctrine, as well as national guidelines regarding POU adherence. The literature review yielded 18 articles that discussed the transport and reprocessing of reusable medical devices. Regulatory standards and national guidelines were used to supplement the literature. Seventeen evidence-based criteria were extrapolated from the literature to generate two step-by-step guides for the POU treatment of endoscopes and reusable instruments (Tables I and II). Despite increased morbidity and mortality rates linked to inadequate device reprocessing, compliance with POU procedures remains low. Barriers to practice included complex POU processes, intricately designed surgical instruments and endoscopes, lack of healthcare worker (HCW) knowledge and competency, and inadequate or ambiguously written policies. Training, competency assessments, and clearly written policies and procedures can be cost-effective, evidence-based, and feasible solutions. Completing POU treatment is critical to a successful surgical mission in both the hospital and austere environment. Implications to practice include implementing evidence-based POU programs that improve patient outcomes and readiness while decreasing costs.

The Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) compared with the Joint Commission International (JCI) and the American College of Radiology (ACR)

In this paper we compare the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) with the Joint Commission International (JCI) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) regarding accreditation of hospitals or radiology departments. CBAHI was established in 2005 by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health to improve the health care service to the public and to localize the protocols and the policies. CBAHI sets standards for healthcare facilities like hospitals, clinics, and laboratories according to CBAHI standards. The applying of these standards vary on the degree of enforcement of these standards in private or governmental sectors.

Improvement Motivation, Communication, And Engagement Human Resources For Accreditation Hospitals With “Photovoice

Abstract. Hospital accreditation is an effort to improve the quality of hospitals. All employees in the hospital must support these efforts. To increase employees' motivation, communication, and involvement in carrying out accreditation. One way to achieve it is done by Photovoice, which is a participatory research method by involving all employees in the hospital in one activity by "identifying, representing, and strengthening communication through photographic techniques". This study aims to provide a communication space for the members of RSUD Dr. Soedono Madiun to express the circumstances, strengths, and problems they face related to Accreditation and facilitate the hospital community to express their views, thoughts, and ideas about accreditation. The research method used Participatory Action Research (PAR) with 5 stages of implementation, namely: 1) Recruiting photovoice participants and introducing photovoice through FGD; 2) Taking and collecting photos; 3) Discussing the photos; 4) Holding photo exhibition; and 5) Evaluating the activities. The subjects in this study were the members of RSUD Dr. Soedono Madiun. As a result of this community service activity, 16 working groups contributed to Hospital Accreditation. The response from all working groups was very positive. They felt that their contribution to accreditation was indispensable. All groups displayed photos of their struggles to carry out the accreditation. In conclusion, Photovoice can increase motivation, communication, and attachment both physically and mentally for the employees in hospitals in carrying out accreditation on an ongoing basis to improve the quality of hospitals and the quality of reliable human resources.

ANALISIS MANAJEMEN SUMBER DAYA MANUSIA DI INSTALASI CENTRAL STERILE SUPPLY DEPARTEMENT RUMAH SAKIT X KOTA SEMARANG DALAM MEMENUHI STANDAR KOMPETENSI DAN KEWENANGAN STAF AKREDITASI RUMAH SAKIT

The most influential factor in achieving the quality of hospital services is human resource management. Fulfilling the standards set in hospital accreditation for each service delivery to patients, both medically and non-medically, is an effort that can be made to maintain service quality. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach with the aim of getting an overview of the state of human resource management in the CSSD Installation of X Hospital Semarang City. The results of the study found that human resource management at the CSSD Installation staff had met the KKS SNARS standards and so far had been able to support maintaining the maximum results of hospital accreditation. However, in practice, there were things that were not suitable, such as recruitment of staff who did not meet the predetermined requirements, there was a shortage of applicants due to the requirements being set too high. There are also staff whose job descriptions are only oriented to the output of the CSSD installation, namely the procurement of sterile goods for other units in the hospital in a timely manner without regard to applicable standards and procedures such as the use of personal protective equipment. With this research, it can be used as material for consideration for hospitals in conducting in-depth evaluations in the process of implementing human resource management.

ANALISIS KONSEP HOSPITAL WITHOUT WALLS PADA PELAYANAN KELAINAN REFRAKSI DI UPTD RUMAH SAKIT MATA PROVINSI SULAWESI UTARA

A hospital without walls or known as a hospital without walls is very useful for patients who come to the hospital for treatment with referrals from the public health center as the entry point for referral diagnosis, this is to minimize the risk of infection transmission and other disease problems. The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of a hospital without walls and the obstacles and challenges in providing refractive errors. The research was conducted at the UPTD Eye Hospital in North Sulawesi Province, from January to December 2022 using in-depth interviews with five research informants, namely the director, head of medical services, ophthalmologist, family doctor and patient. Instruments in the form of in-depth interview guidelines and a list of questions that have been provided. The stages of data processing are narrating, inferring, reducing, recording, sampling, unitizing. Data analysis is content analysis. The validity of the research results using triangulation of data sources and methods. The results of this study were obtained from the summary of the answers of the research informants that the concept of a hospital without walls all understand and know this concept to mitigate the accumulation of services in hospitals, but this concept has not been implemented because there are several factors such as standard operating procedures, human resources and infrastructure which is not yet possible for some FKTPs to be able to complete services at the community health center or family doctor, the obstacle presented by the informant is that there are still many patients who want to carry out direct services to the hospital without going to the health center or family doctor, another obstacle is the lack of tools for examining refractive errors and competence general practitioners to be able to make referrals in the diagnosis of disease. Hospital income will also increase if implementing this concept, if there is collaboration with related stakeholders such as BPJS Health, the Health Service, and other private parties, so that this will also have a good impact on the quality of service when hospital accreditation is carried out. The sophistication of information technology needs to be implemented as much as possible from the hospital so that it is easier so that patients do not pile up during services by registering online. The conclusion of this study is that the concept of a hospital without walls has not been implemented in the Eye Hospital of North Sulawesi Province because it has not followed standard operating procedures, quality competent resources and adequate infrastructure. FKTP Puskesmas in providing refractive error services have not provided complete supporting tools and the skills of FKTP doctors are still lacking, this will have an impact on assessing hospital accreditation in the quality of health services.

Impact of Achieving Hospital Accreditation on Assuring Quality in Clinical Laboratories: Experience of an Oncology Hospital in low middle income country

Abstract Introduction/Objective Shefaa Al-Orman Oncology Hospital (SOH) is a leading cancer care facility in Upper Egypt dedicated to providing specialized treatment to cancer patients for free. The General Authority of Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation (GAHAR, accredited from the International Society for Quality in Health Care) is the regulatory and accreditation body that ensures that healthcare facilities in Egypt comply with the highest standards of quality and safety. Here, we aim to assess the impact of GAHAR accreditation process on: Streamlining workflow, contributing to staff professional development and knowledge, increasing loyalty, and creating a more productive and fair work environment. - Optimizing turnaround time (TAT). - Compliance with the minimum retesting interval (MRI) guidelines. - Healthcare providers' satisfaction with the laboratory services. - Patients’ satisfaction. Finally, we aim to emphasize the role of building an integrated lab quality management system that addresses different lab processes/procedures as a basis for la accreditation. Methods/Case Report laboratory personnel, healthcare providers and patients responses were measured using questionnaire method to assess the impact of accreditation on various aspects of laboratory services. Comparative lab statistics were collected from laboratory information system. Results (if a Case Study enter NA) As shown by questionnaires, 95% of lab staff reported positive impact on streamlining of workflow, 100% reported in professional development and improvement in knowledge, and increased loyalty and created a fair work environment (80% in each). Healthcare providers satisfaction reached 88%, and patient satisfaction reached 93%. TAT optimization increased from 84.1% to 98.1%. Prior to accreditation, the lab had an effective internal quality control program. GAHAR mandated enrollment in External Quality Assurance Services (EQAS) to ensure reliable results. In addition, GAHAR mandated a policy/procedure to enforce minimum retesting interval. Application of this policy led to better utilization. Finally, pre and post-analytical processes were streamlined, leading to improved overall laboratory performance. Conclusion Achieving GAHAR accreditation had positive impact on laboratory workflow, staff professional development, compliance with guidelines, ensure reliable laboratory results, and overall laboratory performance. Laboratories should consider accreditation and implementing quality assurance measures to enhance the delivery of high-quality laboratory services and patient safety.

The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in Canada: A Narrative Review

Breastfeeding offers substantial benefits to infant health, encompassing physical and neurodevelopmental aspects. National and international guidelines, such as those from the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) and World Health Organization (WHO), recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, followed by continued breastfeeding with complementary foods until two years of age or beyond. Despite these recommendations, Canada faces challenges in achieving optimal breastfeeding rates, with only 35% of parents exclusively breastfeeding until the recommended six-month mark. This narrative review aims to assess the implementation rate of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) in Canada, an intervention established by the WHO and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to promote breastfeeding. Comprehensive searches on Google and official websites of relevant associations and organizations were conducted to gather data on the number of designated Baby-Friendly Hospitals using reports from 2016 to 2022. Our findings reveal that only 3% of the 604 total hospitals in Canada available for receiving Baby-Friendly designation have acquired it. Furthermore, the proportion of designated hospitals is less than one-third in each province. There are varying trends in the number of designated Baby-Friendly Hospitals across Canadian provinces and territories. While some have demonstrated a steady increase over the examined period (e.g. Nova Scotia, Alberta), others exhibited a decline or no change (e.g. Ontario, Prince Edward Island). Several factors may have contributed to the low numbers and trends in BFHI designation, including the COVID-19 pandemic, lack of BFHI implementation in hospital accreditation requirements, and the dispersed efforts towards BFHI-related activities. These results underscore the urgent need for enhanced implementation of the BFHI across Canada.

Risk Factors of Stroke in Indonesian Population: Literature Review

Background: Stroke is a major cause of death and disability in Indonesia. Stroke requires high-quality, fast, and precise management to prevent and avoid disability and death. Stroke can be prevented by adequately controlling the risk factors and encouraging healthy lifestyles. Efforts are needed to organize health promotion programs at the community level. More and a better distribution of neurologists and neuro interventionalists is needed. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to review risk factors of stroke patient. Methods: We included English materials published between Science Direct, PubMed, Research Gate, and Google Scholar that were used to find studies related to stroke dan risk- factor between 2016- 2022. Results: In general, risk factor of stroke are sosiodemographic factor, biological factor, lifestyle factor, other condition and other factor can cause stroke. Stroke divide into stroke infark and stroke hemoragic. Risk factor of stroke infark are non- modifiable factor (age, sex, ethnicity, genetic) and modifiable risk factors (hypertension, current smoking, waist to hip ratio, diet, alcohol consumption). Risk factor of stroke hemoragic are non- modifiable factor (age, sex, ethnicity, genetic) and modifiable risk factors (hypertension, current smoking, waist to hip ratio, diet, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, cardiac causes, apolipoprotein B to A1). Conclusion: Review of discharge planning can be influenced by several factors: individual characteristics (clients' potential with special needs early, motivation), family factors (social resources, home environment), health care system (teaching home care skills with community/ hospital professionals. These factors will affect the implementation of discharge planning in health services which is hospital accreditation.

Determination Analysis of Hospitals in East Java on Readiness in Facing a Pandemic Based on the WHO Rapid Hospital Readiness Checklist

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, health service providers, especially hospitals, are expected to be able to optimize all their resources in providing services to patients. Assessment of hospital readiness in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic is needed to ensure that hospitals continue to maintain and improve the quality of health services and patient safety. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of hospital classification, type of service, referral status and accreditation status on hospital readiness in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in East Java. Methods: The design of this study is a quantitative observational analytic type with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study is 385 hospitals in East Java. The sampling technique of probability sampling with a stratified random sampling approach obtained a sample of 129 hospitals. The data analysis used is Dummy Multiple Linear Regression. Results: The results showed that the classification of the hospital with a p value = 0.001 and the accreditation status with a p = 0.000 had an effect on the readiness of the hospital to face a pandemic. Meanwhile, the type of service with a p value = 0.397 and referral status with a p value = 0.077 did not affect the readiness of the hospital to face a pandemic. Conclusion: Hospital classification and accreditation status influence hospital readiness to face the COVID-19 pandemic in East Java. Therefore, regular monitoring and evaluation of readiness to face a pandemic is important for all hospitals to carry out through independent assessments. Making efforts to improve each component, especially in class C and D hospitals, as well as collaborating with the Health Service is very necessary to fulfill regulations and implement improved services for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients.

Permanent education for quality and patient safety in an accredited hospital

Objective To understand the challenges faced in terms of permanent education in health, for achieving quality improvements and patient safety at a public hospital undergoing hospital accreditation. Methods This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study with a qualitative approach. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 22 professionals, lasting an average of 22 minutes. The interviews were subsequently analyzed and interpreted using Bardin’s thematic content analysis. The software Iramuteq was used to analyze the textual corpus, and BioEstat 5.3 was used to analyze the profile of the participants. The data collection took place in June 2022, following approval by the Research Ethics Committees. Results The descending hierarchical classification analysis, generated by Iramuteq, was applied, resulting in three categories: Challenges of Permanent Education through the Continuous Improvement Process, Permanent Education for the Promotion of Quality and Patient Safety in the Context of Hospital Accreditation, and Educational Strategies for Improving Quality and Patient Safety. Conclusion Challenges inherent to the actions of permanent education in health were identified, such as resistance to cultural change, adherence to activities, high turnover of professionals, and difficulty in releasing the nursing team to participate in activities, due to work demand.
