Springback during forming process shows the elastic recovery of the sheet metal which indicates the physical change that happens during the deformation of the metal. Springback is being affected by various factors like sheet thickness, tooling geometry, lubricating conditions, material properties and processing parameters. The learning of spring back characteristics of AISI1045 sheets during the air bending process was performed in this paper. ExperimentalThe actual influence of control parameters namely Orientations (strain hardening exponent) (θ), breadth of the sheet (Ws), Punch travel (dp), Holding time (hd) and Punch Velocity (v) on spring back behavior were established during the experimental investigations conducted on the meshed mild steel. The conduction of experiments showed the increase of spring back when the process parameters such as punch travel, velocity, and width of the sheets were increased. Trials also showed the reduction due to the increase of holding time. Finally it was resolved that punch travel was identified as the dominant factor among the others through a statistical tool called Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
