Aircraft landing‐gear includes links 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 articulated together as shown, and a further link 11, which incorporates a shock‐absorber 12 is articulated to the links 4, 5 and to the link 1 which incorporates a shock‐absorber 12 is fixed or hinged to the fuselage or wing, and is inclined forwardly. Leading and trailing wheels 8, 9 are provided, a carriage 6 carrying wheels 7 is articulated on the link structure and an elastic endless band passes over the wheels. The landing‐gear may have spring‐controlled lateral movement about the axis of the link 1. In a modification the links 4, 5 are omitted, the link 11 being articulated to the link 3 at one of a number of positions intermediate its ends. In a further modification, a shock‐absorber 121, Fig. 7, is interposed across the diagonal of a quadrilateral formed by links 11, 21, 31 and 111, a carriage 61 carrying wheels 7 being articulated on the pivot of the links 21, 31. Two such constructions may be placed adjacent each other on each side of the aircraft. In a further modification the under‐carriage is built up of two systems 6111 and 6112,.Fig. 10, of interarticulated links mounted on the aircraft through links 1111, 111. The shock‐absorbers may be located at the hinge connections of the links.
