Hubungan Kecerdasan Moral dengan Sikap Sopan Santun Siswa Kelas Tinggi SDN Gugus I Kota Bengkulu

This study aims to analyze the relationship between moral intelligence and courtesy attitudes of high-grade students of SDN cluster I, Bengkulu City. This research is a quantitative research. The research method used is correlation. The population in this study were high-grade students consisting of grades 4 and 5 of the Elementary School Cluster I of Bengkulu City, totaling 350 students consisting of 3 elementary schools, namely SDN 1, SDN 6, and SDN 7. The sample in this study used the simple random sampling technique. , the sample in this study amounted to 35 respondents who were drawn proportionally. The instruments and data collection techniques used in the study were a questionnaire consisting of a moral intelligence questionnaire and a courtesy questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the product moment correlation formula and the t test. The calculation results obtained rcount value of 0.562, greater than rtabel 0.334 with a significant level of tcount 3.892, and the contribution of moral intelligence by 32% to the polite attitudes of high class students of SDN cluster I Bengkulu City. Thus it can be concluded that there is a relationship between moral intelligence and courtesy attitudes of high-grade students of SDN cluster I Bengkulu City.

Lise 3. ve 4. Sınıf Öğrencilerinde Sınav Kaygısı ve Beslenme Durumu Arasındaki İlişkinin Saptanması: Bir Anadolu Lisesi Örneği

Objective: This study was carried out to evaluate the body mass index (BMI) and emotional eating increasing with test stress in students in high school 3rd and 4th grade. Material and Methods: The study was carried out on 117 students studying in the 3rd and 4th grades at an Anatolian high school in Istanbul. The Revised Test Anxiety Scale, which determines the level of test anxiety of students, and the Turkish Emotional Eating Scale, which questions the demographic information and emotional nutritional status, were applied. Results: Of the 117 students who participated in the study, 51 were 3rd grade and 66 were 4th grade. While there was a statistically positive relationship between test anxiety and emotional eating, there was no statistical relationship between test anxiety and emotional eating and BMI. Given gender, female students showed more test anxiety and emotional eating behavior than boys; however, male students' mean BMI was higher than female students. Considering the class, emotional eating and test anxiety were higher in high school 4th grade, whereas high BMI was more common in high school 3rd grade. Conclusion: To prevent the emotional eating behaviors of high school 3rd and 4th grade, test anxiety should be at the desired level. Thus, dieting beside therapy was necessary for physical development and school success. More studies are required to determine the effect of emotional food associated with test anxiety on BMI.

ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN DISPOSISI MATEMATIS PADA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SISWA SDN 01 KEBONSARI KABUPATEN TEMANGGUNG SEMESTER GENAP TAHUN AJARAN 2019/2020

The aim of the research is analizing the mathematical disposition abilities of students of SDN 01 Kebonsari Temanggung periode 2019/2020. This research uses qualitative methods in descriptions. The study population was 25 high-grade students at SDN 01 Kebonsari Temanggung. Data sourced from the results of observations, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the mathematical disposition ability of high grade students of SDN 01 Kebonsari Temanggung was in the medium category. The average results of the mathematical disposition questionnare on high class students was 37.92%, while the results of student observations when doing take home exercise were 48.89%. The conclusion of this study is that almost half of the students already have mathematical disposition abilities in learning mathematics. However, the students's mathematical disposition skills still need to be improved. The suggestion in this study is that teachers have to pay more attention in the ability of students' dispositions, there must be cooperation between guardians at home and teachers to control students both in class and at home, so that students get more attention in affective, cognitive and psychomotor, especially mathematical disposition.

IMPLEMENTASI NILAI KARAKTER SISWA SD NEGERI 62 PALEMBANG MELALUI PENERAPAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN IPS SD BERBASIS EDUTAINMENT

This study aims to describe the implementation of character values for students of SD Negeri 62 Palembang through the application of edutainment-based social studies learning media. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects of this study were second grade students of SD Negeri 62 Palembang. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation and questionnaires and documentation. Edutainment-based learning media used is a game of guessing style. The character values observed when students played the style guess were cooperation, self-confidence, and discipline. Based on the results of observations made, this game is less effective if it is done on grade II students who are included in the low class, because when playing, many students still lack self-confidence. Pengembangan Aplikasi Lectora Inspire Sebagai Media Pembelajaran terhadap Kemampuan Literasi Sains Siswa Kelas Tinggi

The research purpose to get advisability of the development of lectora inspire according to expert faculty, teachers and students and for find out raising of science literacy ability students in high grade with using lectora inspire. Plan of the research using Borg and Gall that has been adaption by Sugiyono. subjects in this research is 3 students five grade of SDN Suryakencana CBM Sukabumi and 6 students five grade of SDN Babakan Caringin Sukabumi. The method of collecting data used are questionnaire and test. The result of the research indicate that development of lectora inspire theme the water cycle suitable for used. The advisability based on validation result of expert faculty and teachers with very good category and students giving good response. Lectora inspire increase students science literacy ability. The raising is can see in gain score students in the first trial products was 0,75 that includes on the high category and in the second trial products was 0,61 that includes on the average category.

Analisis Peran Guru Sebagai Motivator Pada Pembelajaran IPS Siswa Kelas Tinggi Dalam Pembelajaran Daring

This study aims to analyze the role of the teacher and the obstacles faced when the teacher becomes a motivator for high-grade students social studies learning in online learning. This research was conducted at SDN Cipanengah CBM Sukabumi, which counted from May to July. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects used in this study were teacher of class 5.3 and students of class 5.3 at SDN Cipanengah CBM. Data collection techniques used in this study in the form of open questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The result of this study is the role played by the teacher during a motivator in high-grade students social studies learning, among other, to encourage students, giving praise, carrying out interesting learning, assigning tasks that are competent among students and there is good cooperation between students and teacher in creating learning active and conducive learning. There are obstacles when the teacher motivates online social studies learning from internal factors that originate from within students and external factors that come from outside themselves such as the family environment.

A Model-Bias Matrix Factorization Approach for Course Score Prediction

Recommender algorithms are widely used in e-commercial platforms to recommend users suitable items according to users’ preferences. In recent years, an increasing amount of attention has been paid to the application of recommender system in education. There are many online learning systems that can recommend students suitable courses according to students’ learning performances. However, there are few universities using recommender system to recommend students suitable elective courses. It is generally known that students in higher grade take the courses earlier than those in lower grade. Therefore, the elective course scores of sophomores can be predicted by using the course score information from students of higher grades. However, the unbalanced distribution of course-enrollment data makes it hard to predict the score of the courses that are in a low selection rate. Therefore, we propose a model-bias matrix factorization algorithm to predict sophomores’ elective course scores, which takes into account the score prediction deviation caused by the course selection rate so as to make more accurate prediction than the traditional matrix factorization approaches. The experimental results show that our proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art methods in the task of university students’ course score prediction.

School Physical Education Policies and Practices and Student Physical Education Attendance

This study examined how state-level measures of school-reported physical education (PE) provisions and exemption practices correlated to student-reported PE attendance among high school students, using data (n=50077) from state-representative schools and students from multiple states. Negative binomial regression was used to examine the association of the frequency of PE attendance with schools’ PE provision and exemption, controlling for student characteristics. The percentage of schools offering PE for all grades was positively associated with PE attendance more strongly among girls and higher-grade students. Permissive exemption policies were not associated with PE attendance. Offering PE for all grades may enhance PE attendance.

The Misconception of Teachers’ and Students’ Knowledge Regarding Puberty in Higher Elementary Education

The Indonesian Adolescent Reproductive Health Survey (Survei Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja Indonesia-SKRRI)h ighlights the lack of knowledge amongst adolescents regarding puberty. Other studies have identified the limited advice from parents, because parents and teachers frequently opt not to discuss experiences related to adolescent reproductive health. This study aims to understand the perception of teachers and students in higher grades with regards to puberty. The study used a qualitative approach, collecting data via in-depth interviews with teachers and students. There were seven informants, consisting of five teachers and two students studying in grade IV-VI from two schools in North Jakarta. The study shows teachers, as well as students, often had only a limited understanding of puberty and considered it a vulgar subject which should not be discussed. Teacher capacity building is needed regarding the material and delivery methods of puberty content.

The Impact of Personal Moral Philosophies on the Safe Practice of Students in Chemistry and Related Majors

Moral ethic prevails in the science and education of chemistry. These issues are unique to chemistry and arise from between the theoretical and the practical behavior in laboratory. The study reported in the paper investigated the impact of personal moral philosophies on the safety practices of students in chemistry and related majors. The results showed that lab anxiety, safety attitude, safety knowledge, and idealism were significant predictors of safety practice, with the last item being the strongest predictor. According to Forsyth’s four distinct personal moral philosophies, among Chinese students, situationism was the most common, followed by exceptionism and then absolutism, with subjectivism as the least common. All lowest scores are from exceptionism. Idealism was more common among males than females, more among higher grade students than lower, and more among students from eastern as compare to western regions of China. All the results showed that the content of idealism should be incorporated into safety training to improve safety practices. Attention to idealistic education in all aspects of university education can help to improve safety behavior.

Correlates of sedentary behaviour among Bhutanese adolescents: Findings from the 2016 Global School-based health survey

Abstract Background Sedentary behaviour is shown to be associated with cardiometabolic health including obesity, and mental health. This study examined the factors associated with sedentary behaviour among Bhutanese adolescents. Methods The nationally-representative dataset of the Bhutan Global School-based Health Survey conducted in 2016 was analysed in this study. Multiple logistic regression using the backward elimination approach was performed to identify the factors associated with sedentariness. The analysis accounted for the complex survey design of the national survey. Results The weighted prevalence of sedentary behaviour among Bhutanese adolescents was 29.12%. The multivariable analysis showed that higher grades, being a day student, consumption of soft drinks and fast foods, substance use, feeling lonely and suicidal behaviour were associated with higher odds of sedentary behaviour. Short duration of sleep was associated with reduced odds of sedentariness, whereas longer duration with increased odds. In the girls’ sample, higher grade, student type, fast food intake, physical activity, longer sleep duration, substance use, and suicidal thought were the factors predicting sedentariness. Among boys, higher grade, soft drink and fast food consumption, physical activity, short sleep duration, smoking and drug use, and loneliness were the significant factors. Conclusions The results suggest plausible gender differences in the factors influencing sedentariness among adolescents of Bhutan. Gender-specific policies such as those aimed to reduce substance abuse, increase access to mental health services, and promote healthy lifestyles and behaviours are needed to reduce the adverse impacts of sedentary behaviour. Interventions targeting students in higher grades and day students may yield larger gains.

EFFECT OF CHARACTER EDUCATION TO STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES OF SD NEGERI 006 RAMBAH SAMO DISTRICT

Character building should be something that must be done continuously without stopping either through coaching, habituation, coaching and other things that improve the character improvement of students. The characters that have been formed will show student behavior through attitudes. Based on observations made at SD Negeri 002 Rambah Samo for the 2019/2020 school year, character education has been implemented through several indicators of character education, so that it will have an impact on student achievement. This study aims to reveal whether there is an effect of character education on student achievement in SD Negeri 006, Rambah Samo District. The hypothesis proposed in this study is character education has an effect on learning achievement. This type of research is simple linear correlation and regression. The research method used in this research is correlational quantitative method. The population in this study were high-grade students (Class IV, V and VI) SD Negeri 006 Rambah Samo, Rokan Hulu Regency, totaling 107 students. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, so that the total sample size was 84 students. Data were collected using a Likert scale model questionnaire which has been tested for validity and reliability. Test the questionnaire by comparingvalue Cronbach's alpha (0.620). The results obtained in testing the research instrument were 0.848, greater than 0.620, so the research instrument was said to be reliable or valid. The results of data analysis showed that the effect of character education on learning achievement was obtained by 52.3%. The level of achievement of the character education variable is in the quite good category, namely 79.25%. Meanwhile, the level of the respondents' achievement in the learning achievement variable was obtained by 77.26% with a fairly good category.

Sosyal Onay İhtiyacı Ölçeği’nin Ergenler Üzerinde Geçerlik ve Güvenirliğinin İncelenmesi

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Karaşar ve Öğülmüş’ün (2016) geliştirdiği Sosyal Onay İhtiyacı Ölçeği’nin ergenler üzerinde geçerlik ve güvenirlilik çalışmalarını yapmaktır. Araştırmaya 132’si kız (%55.2), 107’si erkek (%44.8) olmak üzere 239 lise öğrencisi katılmıştır. Ölçeğin, benzer ölçekler geçerliği için “Ergenler İçin Sosyal Kaygı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. La Greca ve Lopez (1998) tarafından geliştirilen bu ölçeğin Türkçe’ye uyarlama çalışmaları Aydın ve Tekinsav-Sütçü (2007) tarafından yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, Sosyal Onay İhtiyacı Ölçeğini oluşturan üç alt boyutun iç tutarlılık katsayıları incelendiğinde .78 ile .81 arasında değiştiği bulunmuştur. Genel iç tutarlılık katsayısı ise .91’dir. Uyum iyilik indekslerine göre ölçeğin ergen örnekleminde de benzer bir yapıya sahip olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Araştırmada ergenlerin sosyal onay ihtiyacıyla ilgili olarak cinsiyet ve sınıf düzeyi değişkenleri de araştırılmıştır. Erkek öğrencilerin kız öğrencilere göre sosyal geri çekilme puanları daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Sınıf düzeyine yönelik karşılaştırmalarda sosyal onay ihtiyacı ve alt boyutlarına göre birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin üst sınıflara göre daha yüksek puanlar aldıkları bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlara göre Sosyal Onay İhtiyacı Ölçeği ergenlerle ilgili araştırmalarda güvenilirliği ve geçerliliği yüksek bir ölçme aracı olarak kullanılabilir.

Concussion reporting, return to learn, and return to play experiences in a sample of private preparatory high school students

ABSTRACT Objective The objective of this study is to describe concussion reporting and return to learn and play among high school students. Methods Self-reported survey data of 1,999 New England private preparatory high school students who played sports or engaged in recreational activities were collected in 2018. Descriptive and bivariate statistics are presented. Results Three in ten respondents (31.4%) reported ever sustaining a concussion and 22.0% did not report at least one concussion to an adult. The most common reasons for not reporting included wanting to keep playing their sport (58.0%) and not thinking the injury was that serious (53.6%). Girls and students in higher grades took longer to return to school and sports. A quarter of students reported pretending to have a faster recovery in order to return to school or sports. Conclusion Private school students who play sports or engage in recreational activity may be at risk of sustaining concussions and may not report their symptoms due to a lack of understanding the seriousness of concussion, not wanting to fall behind in school, or out of desire to continue playing their sport. Teachers, coaches, and parents can stress reporting as the first step in recovery.

User experience improvement of japanese language mobile learning application through mental model and A/B testing

Advances in smartphone technology have led to the strong emergence of mobile learning (m-learning) on the market to support foreign language learning purposes, especially for the Japanese language. No matter what kind of m-learning application, their goal should help learners to learn the Japanese language independently. However, popular Japanese m-learning applications only accommodate on enhancing reading, vocabulary and writing ability so that user experience issues are still prevalent and may affect the learning outcome. In the context of user experience, usability is one of the essential factors in mobile application development to determine the level of the application’s user experience. In this paper, we advocate for a user experience improvement by using the mental model and A/B testing. The mental model is used to reflect the user’s inner thinking mode. A comparative approach was used to investigate the performance of 20 high-grade students with homogenous backgrounds and coursework. User experience level was measured based on the usability approach on pragmatic quality and hedonic quality like effectiveness (success rate of task completion), efficiency (task completion time) and satisfaction. The results then compared with an existing Japanese m-learning to gather the insight of improvement of our proposed method. Experimental results show that both m-learning versions proved can enhance learner performance in pragmatic attributes. Nevertheless, the study also reveals that an m-learning that employs the conversational mental model in the learning process is more valued by participants in hedonic qualities. Mean that the proposed m-learning which is developed with the mental model consideration and designed using A/B testing is able to provide conversational learning experience intuitively.

The Impact of Project Creation on Learning Mathematics in a Transdisciplinary Setting

<p style="text-align:justify">This article proposes that the reader be nourished by avant-garde elements for new educational practices in the teaching and learning of mathematics. The writing is based on an investigation that was carried out with high school students from Puerto Rico. From a qualitative paradigm with a research design in action, it was explored how students in higher grades resolve situations within their environment. Emphasis was placed on how they analyze through situations in context, and how they build knowledge through the search for a possible solution to the problem through the Project Based Learning strategy. The emphasis in treatment was for students to experience a transdisciplinary environment. Their impressions from the study were the revealing focus of how students learn when they are presented with a situation in their environment, taking roles themselves, solving them it through a project. As part of the project they used their knowledge of science and mathematics to solve the situation. Similarly, they learned mathematical concepts that are part of the Trigonometry course and that are measured in the academic achievement tests called PR Goals, previously known as Puerto Rican Academic Achievement Tests (PPAA).</p>

The incidence of eating disorders among upper secondary school female students.

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the incidence and prevalence of eating disorders in the population of Polish upper secondary school female students, while considering the type of school and living conditions. The investigations of eating disorders were conducted between March and June 2017 and covered female students of the upper secondary schools of Szczecin. Selection for the survey was multistep. 1,750 questionnaires were included in the analysis. The study used a tool for screening for the occurrence of eating disorders - the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26). Lower scores were observed among higher grade students (EAT-26, EAT dieting) as well as those who did not receive pocket money (EAT dieting, EAT bulimia) (p < 0.05). (1) Age has proved to be an important prognostic factor for eating disorders. The risk decreased as the age of the examined girls increased. (2) The risk of eating disorders was almost 21 times higher among first and second grade girls.

The Current Situation of Internet Addiction and Its Impact on Sleep Quality and Self-Injury Behavior in Chinese Medical Students.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this cross-sectional survey is to explore the current state of Internet addiction (IA) in Chinese medical students and its connection with medical students' sleep quality and self-injury behavior. METHODS Respondents were came from Wannan Medical College, China. The Young's Internet Addiction Test, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Self-Harm Questionnaire were used in this cross-sectional survey. A total of 3,738 medical students were investigated, 1,552 (41.52%) males, 2,186 (58.48%) females. T-test, chi-square test and MANOVA were used for data analysis. RESULTS Of the 3,738 medical students, 1,054 (28.2%) reported having IA, 1,126 (30.1%) reported having poor sleep quality, 563 (15.1%) having self-harm behaviors. IA tends to be more female, upper grade students. The sleep quality of IA was worse than that of non-IA (χ2=54.882, p<0.001), and the possibility of self-injury was higher than non-IA (χ2=107.990, p<0.001). CONCLUSION This survey shows that the IA detection rate of medical students was 28.2%. Females, higher grade students had a higher IA detection rate. The low sleep quality and self-injury behavior of medical students are associated with IA.

A Retrospective Study: According to Online News, the Victims, Perpetrators and Characteristics of Sexual Abuse at Schools

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the characteristics of the children exposed to sexual abuse (SA) in the school environment. Research Methods: In this study, the online news which was between 01.01.2014 and 31.03.2018 was screened retrospectively through archive research method. Then, the news was analyzed using content analysis. In this context, qualitative research model was used. Findings: The number of victims varied between 1 and 100 in each incident, 39.3% of the incidents include only one victim; the perpetrators committed abuse once in 13.5% of the SA incidents while they did it more than once. The findings showed that 95.5% of the SA incidents included physical contact,27.6% included verbal abuse, 6.4% included exposure to pornographic content and 5.8% included exhibitionism. In addition, at least 14.7% of the incidents included cyber SA, 9.2% included video recording, 12.6% included threat and 3.7% included physical violence. 60.7% of perpetrators were teachers, 14.7% were principals or vice-principals, 12.3% were peers or higher grade students, 9.2% were school staff other than teachers and administrators and 3.1% were outsiders, such as school bus drivers. The tactics of the perpetrators were examined according to whether they were teachers and peer, it was found out that perpetrators were exhibited different tactics. The students respectively disclosed SA to family members, counselors, school management or a friend. Implications for Research and Practice: Based on the findings, training aimed to prevent SA may be organized at school for students, teachers, other school staff and parents on a regular basis.
