Critical thinking skills student profile and PBL needs assisted by android physics module

The research was conducted to analyze the level of students critical thinking skills and and the requirements for implementing PBL using android modules to improve students critical thinking skills in physics. This research method was included in the preliminary research with a sample of 174 students in XI grade MIPA at Gresik State High School. Data collection is done by sharing critical thinking tests with students, conducting questionnaires for students, and conducting teacher interviews. The data is examined both qualitatively and descriptively to explain the research's findings. The results of this research showed that 1) many students still had a low level of critical thinking. Of the 174 students, 119 have low level, 44 have medium level, and 10 have high level. The evaluation indicator has the lowest average value, and the interpretation indicator has the highest average. Student critical thinking skills are higher for females than for males. The conclusion is that the skills to think critically is very important during learning, especially in physics. To improve the critical thinking skills of students, the way that can be done is by applying PBL-assisted android modules.

Machine Learning for Predicting Personality using Facebook-Based Posts

Social media contributes a lot to human life. People can share their thoughts through text, photos, and voice through social media. Information from social media can be useful, including in personality research. Personality can generally be known through personality tests. In this research, personality prediction is formed to determine personality through Facebook posts without using a personality test. We create a model based on big five personality traits using 5 machine learning algorithms: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multinomial Naive Bayes, Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbor, and Logistic Regression. Data augmentation was also used for balancing the dataset value and trained using stratified 10-fold cross-validation. This research yields the highest f1 score on Openness using Multinomial Naive Bayes algorithm of 82.31% and the highest average is 68.62%. So the five supervised Machine Learning algorithms used in this research produced Multinomial Naive Bayes as the best algorithm to predict personality based on big five personality traits from user postings on Facebook.

Sensory Properties of Yogurt Dairy and Yogurt Goat's with Added Edamame

This study aims to determine the effect of adding edamame on the sensory properties (level of sweetness and aroma of edamame) cow's and goat's milk yogurt. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications consisting of, P0 = without the addition of 0% edamame, P1 = the addition of 5% edamame, P2 = the addition of 10% edamame, P3 = the addition of 15% edamame, P4 = 20% edamame addition. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a level of 5%. The results showed that the addition of edamame to cow's and goat's milk yogurt showed significant differences (P<0.05) on the aroma of edamame and the level of sweetness in yogurt. The addition of 5% edamame to cow's and goat's milk yogurt was the lowest average of 2.05-2.01 with the criteria of not smelling of edamame, while the highest average was the addition of 20% edamame, namely 3.35 and 3.36 with the criteria somewhat smell of edamame. The lowest average sweetness level for cow's and goat's milk yogurt with the addition of 5% edamame was 2.18 and 1.75 with criteria not very sweet and not sweet, while the highest average with the addition of 20% edamame was 3.15 and 3.08 with a rather sweet criteria.

Physiological changes induced by hardening in seedlings of eucalyptus as a function of growth stages

Hardening appears as an interesting strategy to improve the quality of seedlings in forest nurseries, favoring their survival in the field. Thus, the objective of this research was to show the physiological alterations resulting from the application of methyl jasmonate and stem flexion in three stages of growth in Eucalyptus urograndis seedlings. The experiment was carried out in Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná, and Eucalyptus urograndis seedlings were used. Treatments consisted of weekly applications of methyl jasmonate (MeJA), daily imposition of stem flexion and a control treatment. Analyzes included quantification of flexural stiffness, lignin content in stems and roots, phenolic compounds in leaves and roots, electrolyte leakage in roots and field survival. In seedlings of Eucalyptus urograndis at 100 days after emergence (DAE) and at the three distances used to evaluate flexural rigidity, the highest averages were observed in seedlings submitted to chemical and mechanical treatments, coinciding with the increase in lignin content in the stem. In the roots, after quantifying the extravasation of electrolytes in Stage I, the means decreased with the application of treatments. In the field phase, there were no statistically significant differences between seedling survival assessments, quantified every 15 days, for a period of 90 days after planting. However, seedlings in Stage I were lost because they were too young and could not tolerate the stressful conditions observed in the field.

Guidelines for the Application of Design Thinking Processes in School Administration of School Administrators Under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit

The purpose of this research is twofold: 1) to study the application of the design thinking process in school administration under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, and 2) to explore the implementation of design thinking process in school administration of school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit. This is a qualitative research study conducted using a sample of 57 educational administrators and 7 qualified personnel as participants. The research tools utilized include document analysis, questionnaires, and interviews, with statistical analysis involving mean values and standard deviations. The research findings indicate that: 1) The application of the design thinking process in school administration of school administrators is at its highest level. When considering each aspect, it was found that the model prototypes had the highest average, while data synthesis had the lowest average. 2) In terms of guidelines for applying design thinking processes in school administration, it was observed that confidence, empathy in work, and awareness of problems with open-ended questioning encourage creativity. Motivating and encouraging the expression of different ideas by participating in the development of models for use in problem-solving and the collection of information of suggestions, for improvement and development were key factors.

The Development and Evaluation of Netball-Specific High-Intensity Interval Training Sessions: The Netball-HIIT Study.

This two-phase study involved the design, development, and evaluation of netball-specific high-intensity interval training sessions (Netball-HIIT) for use with netballers of varied ages and abilities. In Phase 1 (2020), a systematic analysis of netball GPS data from 30 netball players and gameplay video footage (10 h) was conducted, followed by the design and testing of five 8 min Netball-HIIT sessions involving 100 netball players (age 21 ± 8.44 years; Australia). In Phase 2 (2021), the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of delivering one Netball-HIIT session each week for five weeks was assessed using a two-armed, dose-matched, randomized, controlled feasibility study with netball players (born in 2010) (Netball HIIT n = 15; Netball Knee Program: NKP n = 15). Cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness was assessed at baseline and 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using linear mixed models and Cohen's d effect sizes. Netball-HIIT sessions were highly rated by players, and higher average (139 bpm) and peak heart rates (156 bpm) were detected amongst Netball-HIIT participants (KNP = 127 bpm and 152 bpm). We observed a large effect for cardiorespiratory fitness (+2.4 laps, d = 0.89), and a small to medium effect for muscular fitness (push-ups +1.2, d = 0.49; standing jump +0.8 cm, d = 0.36) in favor of Netball-HIIT, suggesting that coach-led Netball-HIIT may provide a time-efficient and effective training component for use in netball.

Short-term effects of air pollution and weather on physical activity in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

IntroductionPatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) accumulate low levels of physical activity. How environmental factors affect their physical activity in the short-term is uncertain. Aim: to assess the short-term effects of air pollution and weather on physical activity levels in COPD patients. MethodsThis multi-center panel study assessed 408 COPD patients from Catalonia (Spain). Daily physical activity (i.e., steps, time in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), locomotion intensity, and sedentary time) was recorded in two 7-day periods, one year apart, using the Dynaport MoveMonitor. Air pollution (nitrogen dioxide (NO2), particulate matter below 10 μm (PM10) and a marker of black carbon (absorbance of PM2.5: PM2.5ABS), and weather (average and maximum temperature, and rainfall) were estimated the same day (lag zero) and up to 5 days prior to each assessment (lags 1–5). Mixed-effect distributed lag linear regression models were adjusted for age, sex, weekday, public holidays, greenness, season, and social class, with patient and city as random effects. ResultsPatients (85% male) were on average (mean ± SD) 68 ± 9 years old with a post-bronchodilator forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) of 57 ± 18% predicted. Higher NO2, PM10 and PM2.5ABS levels at lag four were associated with fewer steps, less time in MVPA, reduced locomotion intensity, and longer sedentary time (e.g., coefficient (95% CI) of −60 (−105, −15) steps per 10 μg/m3 increase in NO2). Higher average and maximum temperatures at lag zero were related to more steps and time in MVPA, and less sedentary time (e.g., +85 (15, 154) steps per degree Celsius). Higher rainfall at lag zero was related to fewer steps and more sedentary time. ConclusionAir pollution affects the amount and intensity of physical activity performed on the following days in COPD patients, whereas weather affects the amount of physical activity performed on the same day.

Abstract Objective Emotional dysregulation, family and social support are associated with depression. The present study aims to explore, by path analysis, relationships between these variables. Method The path analysis method was applied, and, additionally, comparisons of the means were made between participants with and without a diagnosis of depression and suicide attempts. The sample consisted of 712 Brazilians (M = 23.8; SD = 8.13), 66.7% of whom were women. Results The results show a correlation between both types of support for emotional dysregulation and depression. Emotional dysregulation was found to be an associated variable in depression. Positive correlations were observed between emotional dysregulation and depression. Both were negatively correlated with family and social support. Conclusion People with a diagnosis and previous suicide attempts had higher averages in emotional dysregulation and depression, and lower averages in family and social support.

A metabolomic snapshot through NMR revealed differences in phase transition during the induction of reproduction in Ulva ohnoi (Chlorophyta).

The present study deals with the metabolomic status of Ulva cells undergoing phase transition (vegetative, determination and differentiation) when exposed to different abiotic conditions. The objective was to study whether metabolite changes occurring during the phase transition reveal any commonality among differential abiotic conditions. The phase transition was followed through microscopic observations and 1H NMR characterization at 0 h, 24 h, and 48 h after the incubation of the thallus under abiotic conditions, such as different salinities (20-35 psu), temperatures (20-35 °C), photoperiods (18 : 6, 12 : 12, and 6 : 18 D/N), light intensities (220, 350, and 500 μmol photons m-2 s-1), nitrate (0.05-0.2 g L-1) and phosphate (0.05-0.2 g L-1) concentrations. Microscopic analysis revealed the role of all abiotic conditions except variable salinity and phosphate concentration in phase transition. NMR analysis revealed that glucose increased in the determination phase [7.58 to 9.62 normalized intensity (AU)] and differentiation phase (5.85 to 6.41 AU) from 20 °C to 25 °C temperature. Coniferyl aldehyde increased in vegetative (5.79 to 6.83 AU) and differentiation (6.66 to 7.40 AU) phases from 20 °C to 30 °C temperature. The highest average (22.97) was found in photoperiod (average range = 0-122.91) and the highest SD (24.73) in salinity (SD range = 1.86-57.04) in region 9 (creatinine and cysteine) of the differentiation phase. A total of 30 metabolites were identified under the categories of sugars, amino acids, and aromatic compounds. The present study will aid in understanding the mechanisms underlying cell differentiation during reproduction. The result may serve as an important reference point for future studies, besides helping in controlling seedling preparation for commercial farming as well as the management of rapid green tide formation.

Suicide Risk among the Octogenarian Age Group: A Comparative Study

We aimed to investigate the factors that affect the likelihood of suicide in the elderly, with a focus on individuals aged 80 and older. This is a cross-sectional study conducted in 7 nursing homes in the Manisa province, Turkiye. The data has been collected through face-toface using a socio-demographic data form, the life satisfaction scale, and the suicide probability scale. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0, non-parametric statistical methods have been employed. The study included 278 elderly participants, 5 outliers were removed from the analysis. Among the included elderly participants (n=273), the anger score averages of males were higher. Low, high, and moderate income were found to have a higher suicide probability respectively. Those who resided in a nursing home for 3 years or more had higher anger scores. Elderly individuals residing in publicly funded nursing homes had higher averages in suicide probability, negative self, exhaustion, and anger scores. Further analyses were performed among the octogenarian population (n=149). Octogenarian males had higher scores in Suicide Probability, Disconnection from Life, and Anger Scale than the female octagenarian participants. Octogenarians with low income were found to experience a lack of attachment to life and higher levels of anger. In publicly funded nursing homes, octogenarians had higher suicide probability and anger scores compared to those in private nursing homes. The risk of suicide in octogenarians should be taken seriously. Factors such as gender, income level, and type of nursing home can influence this risk.

Avaliação da qualidade de vida de estudantes universitários durante a pandemia da COVID-19

Abstract Several studies have shown COVID-19 has affected the mental health and quality of life of students. This study aimed to assess the quality of life of students in two Brazilian public universities in 2020, using a cross-sectional study. The profile of the participants was delineated from a sociodemographic questionnaire, and the quality of life was assessed by the WHOQOL-bref. A total of 144 students were assessed, in which most of them were under 23 (57%), female (78%), self-declared brown (46%) and without a partner (87%). Most of them declared to sleep less than 8 hours a day, considered their quality of life to be good, and were satisfied with their health. The social relationships domain had the highest average, followed by the environment, physical and psychological domains. The perception of the student's quality of life was considered good, and the factors associated were sex, family income, and number of sleeping hours.

PRODUCTION OF MICROSHOOT USING THE TEMPORARY IMMERSION SYSTEM (TIS) IN POTATO CULTIVARS

The Temporary Immersion System (TIS) Bioreactor’s performance in cultivation for several commercial potato cultivars became the prevailing study’s review focus. The experiment in a split-plot design had two factors. The first factor comprised the type of culture system (conventional and TIS Bioreactor) treatment used as main plots. The second factor was the four potato cultivars (Atlantic Malang, Dayang Sumbi, Granola L., and Maglia) used as subplots. The TIS Bioreactor culture has the highest average in all studied variables compared with conventional cultures at the multiplication stage. In the TIS Bioreactor, potato cultivar Dayang Sumbi excelled in the number of axillary branching and number of primary roots. At the same time, genotype Granola L. surpassed the height of the plantlets of other cultivars. Meanwhile, the cultivar Atlantic Malang shone in the number of nodes, with Maglia in the number of leaves. Using the TIS Bioreactor produces microshoots with more nodes and can be beneficial as a propagation organ. The Dayang Sumbi cultivar was superior to all other potato cultivars.

Effects of Climatic Conditions and Supplementation with Palm Cake on the Thermoregulation of Crossbred Buffaloes Raised in a Rotational Grazing System and with Natural Shade in Humid Tropical Regions.

In ruminants, diet composition has a positive correlation with heat production, which can influence thermoregulation, energy expenditure and, consequently, animal performance. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of climatic conditions and supplementation based on palm kernel cake, on the thermoregulation of crossbred buffaloes in the eastern Amazon. The research was carried out at Embrapa Amazônia Oriental (01°26' S and 48°24' W), Belém, Pará, and lasted 12 months (representing the entire year). Twenty-four buffaloes, females, with initial age and an average weight of 54 ± 7 months and 503.1 ± 23 kg, respectively, non-pregnant, non-lactating and clinically healthy were used, divided into four treatments based on the supplementation content of the palm cake (%DM) in relation to their body weight (%): 0, 0.25, 0.50 and 1.0. The animals were kept in paddocks with Brachiaria brizantha (cv. Marandu), in a rotating system, with water to drink and mineral salt ad libitum. Equipment was installed to record environmental data (temperature and relative humidity, dew point temperature, wet bulb and black globe) and physiological data: rectal temperature (RT); respiratory rate (RR); and body surface temperature (BST), recorded twice a day, always in the morning (6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) and afternoon (12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.) shifts, and were used to calculate the Globe Temperature and Humidity Index (GTHI). Supplementation did not influence the physiological variables of thermoregulation (p > 0.05). However, there were differences in the GTHI between the shifts, with higher means in the afternoon shift, especially in the less rainy period of the year, where the GTHI reached 92.06 ± 2.74 (p < 0.05). In all periods of the year, the mean values of RT, RR and BST were higher in the afternoon shift (p > 0.05). The respiratory rate (RR) is associated with the annual seasonality of the thermal waters, with higher averages in the afternoons of the rainy season. The positive correlation for rectal temperature, respiratory rate and body surface temperature indicated that buffaloes respond to thermal elevations in the atmosphere (afternoon period) and, consequently, reflect on the GTHI. Supplementation does not influence thermoregulation; the changes observed occurred in response to the region's thermal and rainfall conditions (mainly in the afternoon shift), with higher GTHI values.

Investigating the Current and Desired Status of Factors Influencing the Medical Universities’ Participation in the Development of Moocs from the Virtual Education Experts’ Viewpoints

Introduction: Various factors influence the level of university participation in the development of MOOCs. This research aims to determine and compare the importance and status of dimensions affecting the development of MOOCs from the virtual education experts’ views in Iranian medical universities. Method: This descriptive survey was conducted in 2021-2022 from the perspective of 206 experts of virtual education in Iranian medical universities. The questionnaire consisted of 28 questions on a 5-point Likert scale with a cut-off point of 3. The validity of the tool was confirmed using CVR and CVI content analysis, and reliability was confirmed using internal consistency and Cronbach's alpha with a value of 0.949. The data were analyzed using and paired t-test, independent t-test, and ANOVA through SPSS. Results: The comparison between the current and desired states of the components revealed significant differences in the cultural components (P&lt;0.001, t=32.54), structural components (P&lt; 0.001, t= 31.47), political components (P&lt; 0.001, t= 32.05), and human resources (P&lt; 0.001, t= 34.66). The current situation was found to be below the expected level (desired states). In evaluating the items, the lowest scores were related to holding national festivals(1.67±0.92), encouraging prominent activities(1.67±0.82), the sense of belonging and membership of the national MOOC (1.77±0.95), the existence of motivational mechanisms for teachers (1.82±1.01) and educational experts (1.82±1.13) (P&lt;0.001). In addition, attention to fair power distribution(1.94±1.02) and appropriate profitability for both contracting parties(1.89±1.06) had the lowest average scores. Investigating the desired status, support services of virtual development centers(4.66±0.66), faculty development (4.65±0.74), motivational mechanisms (4.55±0.79), and compilation of educational indicators and guidelines (4.54±0.79) had the highest averages. Conclusion: Based on results, The development of MOOCs encompasses multiple dimensions. it seems that determining |motivational mechanisms, the interactive relationship between e-learning policy-makers and universities of medical sciences, fair distribution of power and resources, and the creation of common goals and roadmap to promote integration and synergy in effective and efficient activities is necessary.

Root growth of citrus rootstocks (sour orange and Volcamriana) affected by foliar nutrition with coconut liquid and dry yeast extract

This study aimed to improve the root growth indicators of the citrus rootstock (Volcamriana and sour citrus) by spraying them with coconut liquid extract and yeast extract. The experiment was carried out using the Randomised complete blocks design (R.C.B.D) as a factorial experiment with three factors: the citrus rootstock (sour orange and lemon Volcamriana) and the extract of coconut liquid with three concentrations (200, 100, 0) ml. L-1 and dry baking yeast extract in three concentrations (0(8, 4, g.L-1 with three replicates. At the end of June of 2023 the measurements were taken and the results were analyzed according to the statistical design used, and the averages were compared according to the selection of the least significant difference and at the level of probability 0.05, and the most important results reached: rootstock Volcamriana excelled in the studied root qualities (root length, root diameter, root size , dry weight of root group) while the treatment of coconut liquid 200 ml L-1 and the treatment of dry yeast extract at a concentration of 8 g L-1 achieved significant superiority for the studied qualities (root length , root diameter , root size , dry weight of the root group) By giving it the highest averages. Practicing requirements elicitation in a serious game: comparison between non-immersive and immersive virtual reality

One of the biggest problems in teaching Requirements Engineering at universities is the lack of access to real projects, which could allow students to interact with stakeholders and practice communication skills while conducting requirements elicitation. This article presents a serious game for practicing requirements elicitation through guided interviews with stakeholders. Two versions of the game were developed. The Immersive VR game was designed to run on mobile phones with Google Cardboard. A Non-Immersive version was also developed to run on Windows. Systematic literature reviews point out a lack of immersive VR games for learning Software Engineering. Moreover, the game proposed here is a pioneer in the addressed subject, including the use of low-cost technologies, such as Google Cardboard. The game was tested for 20 minutes by 46 students in two classes of the Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering. After the test in the first class, the game was improved, and another test was conducted. The purpose of the validation was to verify the sense of presence among the students through a presence questionnaire (PQ). The highest averages were identified in the non-immersive version. For the immersive version, the statistically significant lowest evaluated values pertained to movement within the environment and the feeling of disorientation at the end of the experience. This indicates the need for improvements regarding movement. The literature suggests two directions: the first is to reduce the duration of experimentation with immersive environments, and the second suggests exploring alternative mechanisms for movement within the environment. It is important to remember that the students experimented with their own mobile phones, that is, they did not use dedicated VR equipment. Therefore, it can be concluded that developing VR solutions for these devices requires more restrictive decisions.

Traffic accident mortality of motorcyclists, pedestrians and hospital costs in the city of São Paulo

Introduction: The United Nations recognizes traffic accidents as a serious public health problem all over the world, because they are accompanied by a high morbidity and mortality rate. Traffic causes the death of approximately 1.3 million people and the disability of millions more.&#x0D; Objective: To evaluate mortality from traffic accidents among motorcyclists, pedestrians and hospital costs that occurred in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, from 1999 to 2019.&#x0D; Methods: This is a retrospective time series study with official micro data, collected by place of occurrence among motorcycle drivers, pedestrians and hospital costs from 1999 to 2019, in the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil.&#x0D; Results: In the city of São Paulo, from 1999 to 2019, there were 144,186 thousand deaths resulting from land transport accidents, projecting 5,293 thousand deaths specifically with motorcyclists. Proportional mortality from was higher in the mean age group of 29 years, predominantly in males, with emphasis on white race/skin color. The costs per death stand out for motorcyclists with an average of R$: 49,078.18, with regard to deaths by sex, male predominated in relation to female.&#x0D; Conclusion: There was a high death rate, both in motorcyclists and pedestrians, with the latter having a higher average. Thus, these findings provide relevant information on the magnitude of the public health problem to guide us on control strategies for these causes.

Effect of Fertilization with High Nitrogen NPK Fertilizer and Spraying with Seaweed Extract on Vegetative Growth Indicators of Rosemary Rosmainus officinalis L.

An experiment was carried out in the canopy of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering / College of Agriculture / University of Karbala, Al-Hussainiya district, for the winter agricultural season 2022-2023, to study the effect of fertilizing with high-nitrogen NPK fertilizer and spraying with seaweed extract and the interaction between them on the vegetative growth characteristics of rosemary plant. The experiment included a chemical fertilizer of a type (Solucat) at 4 concentrations (0,2,4,6) gm liter 1-added to the soil and symbolized by (N) and the second factor is spraying with seaweed extract (Equilibrium) at 4 concentrations (0,1,2,3) ml Liter 1 - spraying “on the shoot, symbolized by (T) and their overlap. The experiment was carried out within the randomized complete block design (RCBD) and with three replications. The experiment included 48 experimental units in 3 plants / repeated 144 plants (anvil) starting on 1/11/2022 until 1/ 5/ 2022. The results showed that the plants were significantly superior to the level of compound fertilizer NPK (6) gm-1 in the characteristics of vegetative growth (plant height). The number of branches, stem diameter, fresh weight of leaves, chlorophyll content of leaves (46.76 cm, 23.5 branch -1, 8.72 mm, 73.87 gm, 1.563 mg / g fresh weight) was given as the highest average, compared to the comparison treatment if given The lowest rate was (37.61 cm, 10.55 branches of a plant -1,6.22 mm, 54.83 gm, 1.372 mg / g fresh weight) and the concentration of (3) ml 1-algae extract was significant, as it gave the highest rate of (45.62 cm, 17.88 branches). Exploring the Influential Factors Impacting the Provision of Family-Centered Care for Children with Cerebral Palsy in Saudi Arabia.

Family-centered care is widely considered as best practice in pediatric rehabilitation. We aimed to investigate parents' perception of the family-centeredness of health care services for their children with cerebral palsy (CP) using the Arabic Measure of Processes of Care-20 (AR-MPOC-20). We also explored factors related to the child (sex, secondary impairments, and gross motor classification system level) and environment (family and residential region) that may influence the family-centeredness of services in Saudi Arabia. This was a cross-sectional study of 223 children with CP (age 6 months-18.2 years, M = 6.2 + 3.7 years) and their parents. Generally, parents perceived services as less family-centered. The lowest average score was for 'Providing General Information' (M = 2.9 ± 1.5), while 'Respectful and Supportive Care' had the highest average (M = 4.6 ± 1.8). Factors influencing the provision of family-centered care included being a female child and a mother's educational level. In addition, all subscales of AR-MPOC-20 differed by region, p < 0.001, except for 'Providing Specific Information' which did not significantly differ by region p = 0.163. Clinicians should consider the families' need for information regarding their children's condition and available services, with special attention to the mothers of female children and mothers with low levels of education.

Mathematical communication ability viewing of self-efficacy in project-based learning assisted by performance assessment

This research aims to achieve two primary objectives. Firstly, it seeks to assess the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) by incorporating performance assessment in enhancing students' mathematical communication abilities. Secondly, the study aims to characterize students' mathematical communication abilities to their self-efficacy levels. A mixed-methods approach was employed in this study, with a population comprising 251 seventh-grade students from SMP Negeri 24 Semarang. Data were gathered through mathematical communication skill tests, self-efficacy questionnaires, and interview guidelines. The experimental group underwent PjBL facilitated by performance assessment, while the control group experienced PjBL alone. Results indicated that the experimental group demonstrated classical mastery of mathematical communication abilities, with higher average and proportional achievements than the control group. PjBL assisted by performance assessment proved to be more effective than PjBL alone. Analysis of mathematical communication abilities based on students' self-efficacy levels revealed that (1) subjects with high self-efficacy fulfilled all indicators; (2) subjects with moderate self-efficacy fulfilled indicators one and two, were less proficient in fulfilling indicators four and were unable to fulfill indicator three; and (3) subjects with low self-efficacy fulfilled indicator one but had not yet achieved indicators two, three, and four.
