This study aimed to assess factors associated with a positive perception of wellbeing by applying the leisure constraints and attitudes model. 992 industrial workers of both sexes living in Brazil, participated in the study. Variables were divided into three axes, as follows: leisure, sociodemographic, and work variables. Subjective wellbeing was measured using the Personal Wellbeing Index. Descriptive and inferential analyses were performed, such as Poisson regression and structural equation modeling. Workers under Ideal conditions for leisure activities had a higher prevalence of positive perception of wellbeing. Regression analyses revealed that the following factors were associated with a positive perception of wellbeing: high socioeconomic level, leisure satisfaction, Ideal conditions for practising leisure activities, and work satisfaction. Structural equation models confirmed the causal relationship between variables, with good fit indices. Institutional policies aimed at improving perception of wellbeing should prioritize worker satisfaction and promote favorable conditions for the practice of leisure activities.
