In this letter, we proposed a new method integrating the aperture amplitude field of the receiving and transmitting antennas for improving the efficiency of microwave power transmission (MPT). A number of methods have been employed to design the aperture amplitude field of the transmitting antenna of an MPT, but most of these methods rarely considered integrating the design of the aperture amplitude field of the receiving antenna. In this letter, the circular antenna aperture amplitude field of two antennas is optimized in order to give the maximum transmission efficiency with the constraint on the radiation levels at the edge of the receiving aperture. Numerical experiments were carried conducted to validate the practicality and productiveness of the method, given different Fresnel numbers. It was verified that the higher power transmission efficiency (PTE) than references can be achieved.
