Conductive Polymers: A Potential New Industry

Abstract While the polymer age has existed from the time of the appearance of the first organism on earth, there have been many phases in this polymer age. These phases include that of the natural polymers, thermosets, the general purpose thermoplastics, and the high performance thermoplastics. The most recent phase is that of conductive polymers which should result in a new industry.

Polyphenylquinoxalines—high performance thermoplastics

AbstractThe synthesis, processing characteristics, thermal propers, and adhesive and composite properties of polyphenvlqmnoxahnes are briefly reviewed. In addition, new high molecular weight soluble carbonate/phenylquinoxaline copolymers from the cyclopolycondensation of aromatic bis(o‐diamines) with a bis(benzilyl) carbonate are reported.
