HandCrafted: An Online Shopping Website of Handicratfs

Online Shopping Website for Handicraft is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods (which are handmade) or ser-vices from a seller over the Internet. Most of the shopping sites are focusing on electronic gadgets, clothes etc. but no one particularly focusing on the products which is of handmade. Although Tripura is very famous for Hand made products and it supply all over the India, but people are not getting its product because of poor transport facilities. So, this paper focuses on devel-oping a shopping site for upliftment of handmade products of Tripura. So, it will be beneficial for our government, businessmen of Tripura as well as cus-tomers. This paper focuses on developing an website which will be useful to anyone who wants to purchase items using internet even living in small city or villages.

Conscious food choices – differences between perceived benefits and willingness to pay for different product types

Purpose: Consumers increasingly make conscious choices when it comes to food and choose healthy products that protect the natural environment and preserve traditional habits and communities. This study investigates the differences between perceived benefits and willingness to pay for products making different marketing claims yet all suggesting producers’ dedication to protect the health of consumers as well as natural and traditional resources. Methodology: First, focus groups were conducted to identify food marketing claims (i.e., product types) that are relevant to consumers and empirically validate the relevance of the perceived benefits identified in previous research. Second, questionnaires were distributed to consumers to analyse the differences in perceived benefits and willingness to pay between the identified product types. Results: The focus groups revealed that apart from natural and traditional products, handmade, homemade, and autochthonous products represent important marketing claims. They also proved that most benefits identified in literature resonate well with consumers of the studied cultural context. Results of the questionnaire show that emotional benefits are not perceived differently for different product types, functional benefits are perceived higher for natural and handmade products than for traditional ones, while convenience is perceived as higher only for handmade products. Willingness to pay is not different for different product types nor benefits. Conclusion: Since some product types are perceived as providing more benefits than others, small food producers should focus on marketing their products as handmade and natural, rather than traditional. Furthermore, marketing efforts should be directed towards identifying the right consumer segments as those inclined to the protection of traditional resources perceive higher benefits regardless of the product type.

AbstractEmbroidered craft in Indonesia is believed to be carried by many traders from China and India who carry out lots of buying and selling transactions in Indonesia, that's when these traders began to introduce embroidery crafts and their techniques. One of the leading industrial sectors is handmade products in the form of embroidery craft where initially in Probolinggo there was a center for embroidery industry but after the monetary crisis occurred in Indonesia since 1998 many craftsmen could not survive due to the high raw materials and the lack of buyers and the inability of craftsmen to reach other markets, leaving only a few that still exist today. This Community Service Activity Partner is Rizza Bordir. To achieve this goal, theCommunity Service activities are carried out using the Participatory Rural Appraisal Model (PRA), Community Development Model, through Persuasive and Educational Approaches. Post-purchase dissonance when buying two types of handmade products on the Internet

The study of post-purchase dissonance can help the masters of the handmade industry effectively organize business processes and plan communications with consumers. The article presents the difference in the formation of processes associated with consumer actions in relation to a possible purchase, depending on the two types of handmade products presented for purchase on online storefronts. The article studies the factors contributing to the occurrence of post-purchase dissonance and the effects caused by post-purchase dissonance, a study of the characteristics of post-purchase dissonance on the Internet, a study of points of view on consumer behavior patterns when shopping for handmade products online, a study of post-purchase dissonance among consumers of handmade products to determine the level of post-purchase dissonance when making purchases of ready-made handmade products and hand-made products to order on the Internet and comparing them. A study conducted by the author has shown that there are differences in the level of post-purchase dissonance when shopping for ready-made handmade products compared to purchases of handmade products to order. Regret about the outcome of the purchase and the purchasing decision-making process is higher in the case of buying a made-to-order product, as buyers are guided when making this type of purchase. In the case of buying a ready-made handmade product, respondents regret the result of the purchase more than the process of making a purchase decision. When buying a made-to-order handmade product, respondents regret the purchasing decision process more than the result of the purchase. The findings are important for developing ways to reduce consumer doubts and regrets about their purchases.

Evaluation of hygienic-sanitary conditions of butcher’s shops in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais

Introdução: No município de Uberlândia (MG), os comércios varejistas de carnes são classificados em categoria A, B e C e, dependendo da categoria de classificação/atividade exercida, devem cumprir exigências referentes à estrutura e aos procedimentos. Objetivo: Verificar as condições higiênico-sanitárias desses estabelecimentos após sua regulamentação na cidade de Uberlândia. Método: Foram analisados documentos das inspeções realizadas entre os meses de dezembro de 2015 e janeiro de 2016, em 14 açougues categoria A, que solicitaram alvará sanitário. Resultados: Os achados foram categorizados em cinco blocos, a saber: 1) situação e condições de edificação; 2) equipamentos e utensílios; 3) pessoal na área de produção, manipulação e venda; 4) armazenamento e exposição de produtos industrializados; 5) produção e exposição de produtos artesanais. Os blocos que apresentaram a menor ocorrência de não conformidades foram os relacionados à estrutura física (22,5%), equipamentos e utensílios (18,3%) e pessoal na produção, manipulação e venda (28,6%). Por outro lado, os dados apontam que os itens referentes aos blocos 4 e 5 foram os com maior ocorrência de não conformidade. Conclusões: Os açougues categoria A da cidade de Uberlândia apresentaram poucas não conformidades referentes a estruturas e grande deficiência relacionada aos procedimentos.

A Case Study of Kara Weaves Based on Secondary Data

This case study focuses on famous social enterprise Kara Weaves, which is working in the state of Kerala. Kara weaves is a WBA and fair trade certified social enterprise that creating hand-woven textiles product in Kerala. The social women entrepreneur Indu Menon and her three co – partners started Kara Weaves in 2007, it’s working with local weaving cooperative societies in south India especially in Kerala to design contemporary home textiles and resort wears. Kara weaves is all about handmade product with vary ancient fabric in Kerala. Might be Kara would be the first attempt of Kerala to bridge the gap between traditional weaving art form and contemporary life style.

INTRODUKSI TEKNOLOGI PEMBUATAN WALL DECORATION MELALUI PELATIHAN WIRAUSAHA MANDIRI DI KOTA METRO

Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan wall decoration kain flanel sebagai bekal wirausaha mandiri remaja panti asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin. Dengan tampilan yang warna-warni membuat kain flanel lebih menarik untuk dibuat kreasi produk kerajinan yang bernilai jual. Kelebihan lain dari kain flanel adalah harganya yang terjangkau sehingga memungkinkan berwirausaha dengan modal yang tidak terlalu besar. Melalui pelatihan pembuatan wall decoration kain flanel ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bekal wira usaha mandiri bagi remaja panti asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin Kota Metro. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah remaja panti asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin Kota Metro. Kelompok remaja panti asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin Kota Metro sebagai mitra yang mayoritas beranggotakan anak-anak remaja yang aktif dan produktif. Panti asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin memiliki banyak remaja putra dan putri yang aktif dan produktif, namun mereka belum memiliki kemampuan dan keterampilan menghasilkan produk layak jual. Tempat pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan adalah di masjid Panti Asuhan Tuma’ninah Yasin Kota Metro. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode demonstrasi, tanya jawab, diskusi, dan praktek. Hasil kegiatan yang diperoleh yaitu peserta pelatihan/mitra dapat mengembangkan pembuatan berbagai macam kerajinan/produk handmade dari kain flanel sehingga mampu mengembangkan dan menjadi bekal wirausaha mandiri. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa 93% peserta pelatihan memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pembuatan wall decoration kain flanel.

Cada vez cobran más popularidad los productos que incluyen técnicas artesanales en sus procesos de producción, no solo por la experiencia que le brindan al consumidor, también por la creciente conciencia social y ambiental que está en auge y que motiva la compra de propuestas con el valor que solo los productos hechos a mano pueden brindar. Esto presenta una invaluable oportunidad para todos los maestros artesanos con los que cuenta América Latina. Si bien es cierto que tiempo atrás se fueron perdiendo sus técnicas ancestrales, es ahora cuando se presenta la oportunidad ideal para su recuperación. Sin embargo, hay conocimientos y estrategias de difícil acceso para estas comunidades de artesanos, los cuales si son bien implementados pueden incrementar considerablemente la competitividad de los productos. Estos conocimientos pueden ser encontrados a través de los diseñadores e investigadores, quienes tienen el acceso, la formación y la capacidad de trasladar la información a los artesanos de tal forma que las propuestas generadas sean de aún más valor, con el potencial de penetrar el mercado global.

The maximum empowerment of village potential is one way to improve the economy. Purwosekar Village, Tajinan Subdistrict, Malang Regency, has the potential of natural and human resources that can be developed. Ownership of a reservoir that was previously neglected, a lot of garbage, sediment, and wild plants will be a very valuable asset if conceptualized water tourism. Moreover, the village community has many skills and handmade products, which are still confused about the marketing media. Thus it is necessary to plan and conceptualize steps to empower the reservoir to become a tourist site which will later be a means of promoting processed products for villagers. The activities carried out are aimed at 1) providing design designs using the SketchUp Pro 3D Design Program for tourism reservoir concepts 2). Provide stages of activities to develop the potential of village tourism village design. This community service activity has an output target in the form of a tourism reservoir design. So that through this service activities can help disseminate the promotion of products created by the village community

Green Quality Improvement Using Six Sigma Method

Traditional cast brass handicrafts Majapahit is one of the nation's cultural heritage which has a high historical value. The uniqueness and quality become the hallmark of this craft products. The results of handmade products such as sculptures, wall hangings, souvenirs, ornaments doors and so on. To increase the sales of traditional handicrafts of brass castings, required Majapahit applicative technical efforts in improving the quality of products which are ecofriendly. Quality improvement method such as Six sigma. Six sigma focuses on decreasing flawed rate, by reaching the standard 3, 4 flawed in a thousand possibility. Six sigma has 5 phases; define, measure, analyze, improvement, and control. In this research, six sigma is applied in producing cast brass handicraft starting from making the master mold, preparation of smelting raw materials, cooling process, releasing of the mold, and finishing. Purposefully to improve the quality by overcoming and decreasing the high of flawed possibility and also applying marketing mixture in improving the market segmentation of traditional cast brass of Majapahit market. The result is quality improvement is shown by decreasing happen in number of flawed product in total of mean for about 154, 8 decreased to 59,5. While the calculation of the six sigma, flawed product of cast brass handicraft is for about 1,7625 sigma value or being in level 2 and increased to 3,725 or being in level 4 with the flawed possibility in amount 235,000 for thousand times of production. The ability of production for the requirement which is wanted by the consumers and owning a good enough capability but still needed some correction to achieve world class home industry

Informing Artisanal Pearl and Pearl-Shell Handicraft Production for the Cruise Tourism Market Through Analysis of Intended Purchase Behavior

The production and vending of handicrafts by the indigenous peoples of cruise destinations in the Pacific region has unrealized potential. Handicraft sector development strategies are constrained by the limited information guiding what products to produce, which product attributes are important, and appropriate pricing for the cruise tourism market. Using structured interviews, we evaluate cruise passenger preferences and intended purchase behavior towards a range of mabé pearl and motherof-pearl (MoP) handicrafts. Our study is conducted in a newly emergent cruise destination, Papua New Guinea, where cruise passenger demand for handicrafts, purchased as souvenirs, goes largely unmet. The majority of cruise passengers expressed both interest and willingness in purchasing mabé pearl and MoP handicrafts, though preferences were found to exist for specific products and product attributes. Latent factor analysis revealed cruise passenger preferences could be summarized by the importance an individual assigned to a handmade product, a product with accompanying information, or the aesthetic appeal of a product. The importance assigned to these factors was found independent of cruise ship and passenger demographics, but partly explained by purchase intent (i.e., purchase for self or others). Factoring these results into handicraft development strategies will help maximize local economic benefits from pearl industries and cruise tourism in Papua New Guinea, but also throughout the Pacific region.

Crafting a Fibre Scene in Cape Breton: The Tools, Technologies, and Motivations of the Unspun Heroes

In the 21st century, spinning, knitting, and weaving are largely thought of as hobbies, pastimes, or small business activities. Despite the availability of mass-produced wool and fibre products, homespun and handmade products have seen a resurgence in popularity, partly because practitioner communities have developed. This article provides an ethnography of one such group, the Unspun Heroes in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Following a brief history of the group, the individually- and communally-owned tools and technology utilized within the Unspun Heroes is described. The forces that shape fibre artists’ access to tools and other resources of their craft in Cape Breton are identified, elucidating how strategies of shared, repurposed, and DIY tools enable fibre artists to sustainably engage in their craft. The motivations of members of the group are then considered, demonstrating how economic diversification strategies in Cape Breton have facilitated fibre arts, but are seldom the driving force for engagement in fibre arts and the Unspun Heroes group. In conclusion, the concept of “scene” is applied to the people, places, technologies, and connections described in this ethnography of the Unspun Heroes as a way of understanding the complex web of interactions and activities that plays out within and around the fluid membership of the group. This exploration demonstrates the innovative and entrepreneurial ethos of fibre artists in rural Canada.

Implementation of Environmental Issues in Teaching the Subject of Technical Education at Primary Schools

Nowadays, environmental issues belong to frequently discussed topics. Our article focuses on the implementation of environmental issues in teaching the subject of Technical education at primary schools in the Slovak Republic. Our research sample consisted of 123 students, graduates of primary schools in Trnava, Trenčín and Bratislava regions after they started to study at secondary vocational schools. We wanted to find out more information about their experience related to working with tools, instruments and machines, to developing their creativity, designing and manufacturing of their hand-made products. Our main questions dealt with environmental issues and their acquisition in the subject of Technical education. Up to 55.5 % of respondents stated that they did not learn, or they did not remember the area of environmental issues within the given subject. 7.8 % of respondents remembered mainly the topic of waste sorting out of all environmental issues discussed at the lessons of Technical education. In general, environmental aspects as cross-cutting topics of the educational process can be adequately demonstrated and implemented in the subject of Technical education. However, this implementation also requires a new conceptual approach to the teachers` education and the lifelong education of the whole society, as well.

The Genuine Handmade: How the Production Method Influences Consumers’ Behavioral Intentions through Naturalness and Authenticity

ABSTRACT The present research suggests a new perspective to investigate the downstream effect of the production method on consumer responses. The authors propose that the higher behavioral intentions (e.g., likelihood to purchase and willingness to pay a premium price) assigned to handmade products can be attributed to the perceived naturalness and authenticity associated with the production method. The findings of three experimental studies confirm these predictions. They show that due to perceptions of naturalness, consumers view handmade products as more authentic and valuable than identical products made by machines or automated processes. This research has relevant implications for theories about production method and authenticity and its related psychological mechanisms in the consumption context as well as marketing practice.

A study on the popularity of handmade products among consumers

The focus of this study was toexamine the popularity of handmade products among consumersthrough a survey. We shed light on the effect of the socio-demographic factorssuch as agender identity, age, education, and income level,onconsumer behavior (frequency of purchase, purchase considerations, most popular place of purchase),and consumer demand. The results point out that handmade products are becoming increasingly popular. The surveyed consumers chose high-quality food, which can be beneficial for the manufacturers of handmade products. Hence, we suggest that providing local services and products can be an ideal opportunity to generate income in rural regions. Since only 51 people were surveyed,we are aware that our work cannot be representative,and further data collectionand analysisareplanned for future work.

Tigre en Papier

I started Tigre en Papier to set a small business, but it gradually became more of an artistic project in the period when hand-made products spread. Soon, I learned that I did not have the nature for that kind of job as I am rather liable to experiment and changes. The name of the project was picked haphazardly and means “seemingly dangerous”; the origin of the expression is supposedly Chinese, but I preferred the stylish vibration of its French translation. From fashion to installation, Tigre en Papier traverses a multitude of mediums, through which it expresses ideas such as ephemerality, identity, or deception. In many of my pictures, I arrange juxtapositions, reinterpretations of pretty well-known subjects, and various intersections.

Influence of technology on regional brands in Czechia

Abstract This article aims to examine the effects of new technology on the purchase of regional brands in Czechia and draw conclusions that will help to adapt the brands to customer needs. Regional brands are a speciality of Central Europe, which emerged due to consumer dissatisfaction with low-quality of global retail products. These traditional local handmade products are heavily influenced by new technology and customers requiring them to be purchasable online with a massive online presence. The sample consisted of 1050 residents of the Czech Republic. The data were gathered by a professional marketing agency Ipsos using a questionnaire survey. The sample was tested using the one-way Chi-square test, which had good compliance to test the basic sample characteristics, followed with the one-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test to test the data distribution, and then, the dependencies were tested with the Kruskal-Wallis test. Finally, a post-hoc test suitable for the type of analysis could be chosen to better understand the type of factors that could influence the results and their possible effect. The main findings indicate a slow change in the demand as customers are neutral in relation to regional brands available from online shops as well as their about social media presence but require them to have a good-quality website. Solutions are proposed using a government-run brand with a platform providing web layouts and hybrid e-shop. The type of content is proposed, indicating the appropriate execution, which should be done based on the researched-derived segmentation criteria.

The amount of paper waste, especially paper waste of yarn rolls in the socks manufactured factory and the convection industry that has not been used to get high economic value is an opportunity to open a new business, especially in the electronic and art craft product. SEPIK PANIK (Speaker of Music and Unique Display of Waste Paper Rolls) is an innovation from processing paper waste to be a unique speaker. The purposes of this program are: 1) Utilizing paper waste to get high selling value. 2) Creating handmade products from paper waste into speakers as well as unique creative display. 3) To accommodate the desire of college students who have entrepreneurial spirit and artistic creations to open new business opportunities. The method of make this SEPIK PANIK product includes 1) Making paper tube of speaker and 2) Making a Unique Display. The Sales of this product have been carried out during May to August 2019, products that have been sold are 34 units, obtained a profit of Rp. 1.170,000. Sales and promotion methods are carried out both online through social media and offline, namely direct selling and consignment. Based on these results, this business is very profitable and can benefit the surrounding environment.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THROUGH BUYING INTENTION ON ONLINE MARKETING IN INDONESIA

Community economic empowerment is an effort to make the economy strong, large, modern and highly competitive in the right market mechanism. The constraints of people's economic development are structural constraints; the empowerment of the people's economy must be carried out through structural change. One of them is structural change through technology by online shopping application. The purpose of this research is to find out how the influence of online marketing variables which consist of Personal Relevance, Online Interactivity, Message, and Brand Familiarity Brand towards buying intention. In this study, researchers took objects on the online shopping application Qlapa.com which specifically sells handmade products. The sampling technique used by researchers is a non-probability sampling technique, because not all samples have criteria which are in accordance with what the researcher determined. Based on the calculations made, the sample used in this study was 100 people. The research method used in this research is quantitative methods. The analysis was conducted using the method of multiple regression analysis to explain the effect of the variables. The problems examined in this study are Personal Relevance (X1), Online Interactivity (X2), Message (X3), Brand Familiarity (X4), and Buying Intention (Y). The results of the study found that simultaneously and partially the variables Personal Relevance, Online Interactivity, Message, and Brand Familiarity have a significant influence on buying intention.
