The Impact of Organic Agriculture on the Development of Green Economy: The Case of Turkiye

This study investigates the influence of organic agriculture on the sustainable economy in Turkiye. The green economy is an economic framework that seeks to enhance long-term human well-being by mitigating environmental hazards and promoting social equity. The strategy plan devised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkiye outlined seven objectives for the green economy, with five specifically targeting organic agriculture. This study has investigated the global expansion of organic agriculture and found a significant rise in the size of organic farming regions in recent years. An analysis of the progress of organic agriculture in Turkiye, revealing a notable expansion in organic agricultural areas. However, it was observed that this trend has declined over the past five years. The analysis revealed a rise in the backing for organic farming in Turkiye, along with noticeable diversification. The level of support for organic agriculture is established based on the product certificate, and the amount supplied varies by product category. Therefore, organic agriculture plays a vital role in the development of Turkiye’s green economy. To advance organic agriculture, it is crucial to enhance consumers’ and producers’ understanding of the concept of the green economy. Furthermore, it is imperative to broaden the scope of the existing assistance and offer monetary aid to farmers as they transition to organic farming.

Spatial convergence characteristics of low carbon economy and economic growth quality: based on Guangdong urban data

<abstract> <p>As China's economy transitions from a stage of high-speed growth to a stage of high-quality development, the concept of low-carbon and green economic development has gained increasing popularity. Mastering the regional differences and changing patterns of low-carbon economy and economic growth quality is an important prerequisite for further promoting low-carbon economic development and improving the quality of economic growth. Taking the data of 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province from 2008 to 2019 as examples, we calculated the low-carbon economy and the quality index of economic growth, and analyzed the convergences between them through coefficient of variation analysis and a panel data convergence model with fixed effects. The results showed that: First, the convergence of low-carbon economy was better than the convergence of economic growth quality. Second, the low-carbon economy of Guangdong Province had σ convergence, and the imbalance between regions of low-carbon economy was alleviated, but the quality of economic growth of Guangdong Province did not have σ convergence. Third, there was absolute and conditional <italic>β</italic> convergence in the quality of low-carbon economy and economic growth in Guangdong Province. Fourth, the convergence rate of low-carbon economy in Guangdong Province showed "club difference"; the same was true of σ convergence, absolute <italic>β</italic> convergence, conditional <italic>β</italic> convergence, and dimensional convergence of economic growth quality in various regions of Guangdong Province. The exploration conducted in this article was conducive to better grasping the changing patterns of low-carbon economy and economic growth quality, enriching relevant research. The conclusions of this paper can provide decision-making basis for China to formulate urban and regional economic policies, achieve high-quality economic development, and "double carbon goal".</p> </abstract>

Green economy development in the Republic of Uzbekistan

The “green economy” is a new concept that has emerged in the last two decades, it is associated with sustainable development, calling for the simultaneous achievement of social, economic, and environmental goals. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, a “green” economy can be understood as an economy that leads to increased well-being of people and strengthening social justice while reducing environmental risks, efficiently using resources, and stimulating the conservation of the country’s natural ecosystems. The aim of the study is to compare the economies of Uzbekistan and China, and to extract positive aspects and apply them to the economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The main research methods were the generalization and systematization of scientific and statistical data, their comparative analysis, synthesis, application of a systematic approach, data processing using methods of economic analysis, and the general theory of statistics. The object of the study is the Republic of Uzbekistan. For a long time, the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and most countries of the world, was focused on achieving economic growth through the irrational use of natural resources. Later it became clear that the path of economic growth must take into account environmental and social factors. The green economy is ensured by growth in income and employment, and public and private investments, which are aimed at reducing pollution emissions, creating jobs, and a favorable environment for the life and health of the population, increasing the efficiency of the use of energy, resources, etc. Currently, issues of the “green” economy are considered by various bodies and committees within international systems, government bodies of various countries, private organizations, and others.

In the face of rapidly growing environmental threats, the need to transition to a green economy based on the use of environmentally friendly technologies and resources comes to the fore. One of the most important aspects of this transition is the creation of green jobs that contribute to reducing negative environmental impacts and sustainable development. The article examines the concept of green jobs as they define their role in mitigating the climate crisis and contributing to economic growth. The required skills for these jobs are analyzed, including both technical and soft skills that enable successful completion of environmentally responsible tasks. The study explores the differences in skill requirements for green and non-green jobs, and the importance of training managers and workers to effectively operate remote work in the context of a green economy. Based on data from sociological surveys conducted in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a relationship is found between the levels of manager training and employee support when working remotely, which plays an important role in organizing green jobs. The findings highlight the significance of building appropriate skills for a successful transition to a green economy and sustainable development.

The human factor in the development of a green economy in the Kyrgyz Republic

The paper explores the importance of human capital as the most important factor in the development of a green economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. A green economy is in line with the new concept of sustainable development, thanks to its ability to improve the bio-environment, increase resource efficiency and take care of future generations. Although there are many studies on the concept and implementation of a green economy, the practical issues associated with it are not completely clear, including the importance of macroeconomic sustainability. The purpose of this study is to identify the importance of human capital in ensuring the development of a green economy of the Kyrgyz Republic. To achieve the objectives of the study, a comprehensive analysis was applied, which has shown a direct and close relationship between the level of human capital and the potential for the development of a green economy. This study examines the experience of developed countries and the competitive advantages of developing a green economy through the trinity of sustainability of the development of economy, society and environment, with the priority of investing in human capital. This paper shows that human capital is an important factor in the growth of a green economy and sustainable development for the Kyrgyz Republic.

Assessment of the Impact of Green Economy Development on Employment

The relevance of this study is due to the growing attention to the development of green economy and its potential impact on employment. The purpose is to evaluate how green economic development affects employment in Russia, using panel data from 82 regions spanning the period from 2016 to 2020. To analyze the data, we use generalized linear regression models such as OLS, random effects, and fixed effects models. The final fixed effects model explains about 25% of the total variation in unemployment rates across different regions. However, evidence of cross-sectional dependence in the residuals suggests potential challenges, such as the omission of relevant variables that capture unobserved heterogeneity and inadequate consideration of spatial clustering within specific regions. The main results show that expenditure on environmental protection and maintenance of protected areas are positively linked with unemployment. This suggests that these expenditures may not directly lead to job creation. There could be several reasons for that: administrative costs, the delayed effect of environmental investments, or regional disparities in infrastructure and skilled labor availability.

Does the cost of environmental regulation affect the development of the green economy? ——A quasi natural experiment on changing environmental protection fees to taxes in China

Environmental regulation is a crucial mechanism for attaining both environmental preservation and sustainable development. So, how does the changes in regulatory costs affect the development of green economy? We use Difference-in-Differences model to test the impact of environmental tax implementation on the level of green economy in 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions of China from 2011 to 2020.Our research find that the implementation of environmental protection tax effectively improve the level of green economy in the areas where the tax burden was raised, that is, the increase in the cost of environmental regulation would promote the growth of the level of green economy. Through a series of robustness tests such as outlier test, placebo test, reduced sample test, lagging independent variable, and control variable, the conclusions of this paper are still robust. Further analysis reveals that the implementation of environmental protection taxes has significantly improved the level of green innovation, industrial structure, and energy use efficiency in tax bearing areas. Heterogeneity analysis find that the impact of environmental protection tax implementation on regional green economy mainly occurs in the tax burden increase areas in the central and western regions. In places characterized by elevated levels of green credit and tax burden, the introduction of environmental protection levies exhibits a more pronounced impact on fostering green economic growth. Hence, it is recommended to further augment environmental rules, broaden the ambit of environmental tax collection, and strengthen regional green credit support in order to facilitate the advancement of the green economy towards high-quality development.

In this article, we will look at the economic landscape of Kyrgyzstan, the potential benefits and risks of investing in the regions of the country, as well as some strategies for successfully investing in Kyrgyzstan for sustainable development. The main sectors of the country's economy are analyzed regionally, including agriculture, tourism, gold mining and other resources, taking into account the principles of green economy development. Government measures aimed at attracting foreign investment, such as tax breaks and simplification of business registration procedures, are also considered. Thus, attracting foreign investment in sustainable regional development will fundamentally increase the economic effect as a result of the joint use of individual elements of the system. As a result, the presence of economic and political stability of the country, reduction of external debt and attracted green investments will give expected changes in the future, which may affect the investment climate. Therefore, the article will be a valuable source of information for those who are planning to invest in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Since the regions represent a promising market for investors who are ready to invest their funds in the development of the country’s economy.

State regulation of the Chinese organic products market

Organic agriculture in the world is considered one of the main directions of solving the environmental problem. The authors emphasize the importance of studying the best foreign practices of state support for organic production in the context of the green economy development for their use in agriculture in Russia. Based on the study of the positive experience of state regulation of the organic market in China, characterized by rapid growth, the article concludes that the formation of a mechanism of state support will contribute to the development of organic agribusiness, will allow to produce better products with less harm to the environment, and will also increase the organic production efficiency. The article is of practical value, gives an idea of the current level and prospects of state regulation of organic agriculture.

Improving the assessment of the cadastral value of agricultural land in green economy conditions

The formation and development of the “green economy” involves changes in methodologies and methods for assessing economic processes and categories. The green economy considers not only economic, but also environmental and social indicators. The article considers that the current methodology for calculating the cadastral value of agricultural land evaluates the economic efficiency of using a land plot, the ecological aspect is considered in a small volume, and there is no social component of land valuation at all. It is revealed that the improvement of the assessment of the agricultural land cadastral value in green economy is to consider new agroecological, anthropogenic, social indicators characterizing land condition and use. It is shown that reliable and timely information about the state of the soil cover of an agricultural land plot should be considered in the transformation of land use types. The ultimate purpose of the study, one of the stages of which are the proposals presented in the article, is to substantiate approaches to improve the state cadastral valuation of agricultural land in the context of green economy development.

The research methodology is a comprehensive approach that makes it possible to comprehensively approach the methods and techniques of scientific knowledge, to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the subject of research, to reveal the essence of the green economy and the purpose of implementing digital technologies to ensure environmental safety, to follow the system-forming connections between economic, social, and ecological processes in a global dimension, to highlight the directions of using digital technologies to ensure environmental safety, which gives a synergistic effect for the development of the green economy. It has been proven that the use of artificial intelligence technologies, information logistics systems make it possible to solve many problems in agriculture in the process of production, processing, transportation and preservation of agricultural products. Highlighting the negative consequences of digitization in relation to the environmental component, which includes the increase in energy consumption, electronic waste and cyber security, made it possible to outline directions for their leveling.

Along with the elimination of gaps in environmental legislation, the process of digitalization of ecology is actively developing. This strengthens the desire of citizens living in the environment to do everything very quickly. In the issue of climate digitalization at the state level, much attention is paid to the well-being of the environment, as evidenced by the smaller number of state programs and other legal acts adopted in this area. The global and Kazakhstan trend was observed during comprehensive legal studies of the concept of green economy and other green development programs. The main goal of digitalization of the sphere of climate protection is to improve the quality of life of the population, improve the environmental situation, create opportunities for the effective operation of environmental measures, modernize the ecological system, ensure environmental safety, improve environmental digital education of the population. The digital transformation of climate protection is an important part of many national strategies to restore the ecological dangerous crisis and prevent environmental safety. In addition, the article presents additions and changes to the current environmental legislation to improve the directions in the field of digitalization of ecology, including climate protection.

The Impact Mechanism and Strategy Analysis of Green Consumption Behavior of Chinese Residents under the Dual Carbon Target

Consumption is the terminal of carbon emissions, and achieving the "dual carbon" goal cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of consumers. In the context of actively promoting energy conservation, environmental protection, green and low-carbon sustainable development in the whole society, green development is one of the five development concepts in China. Promoting green economic development and improving residents' green consumption level are of utmost importance. How residents, as consumers, can improve their level of green consumption is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed. This article is based on the theory of planned behavior and embeds an analysis of behavioral externalities. It elaborates on the path that residents form green consumption intentions driven by their consumption attitudes, subjective factors, and behavioral control factors, and explains the mechanism by which consumption intentions promote consumption behavior. Finally, policy recommendations are proposed to enhance the green consumption level of Chinese residents, promote green consumption behavior among residents, leverage the protective role of laws and regulations, and enhance the supply of green consumer goods by enterprises, in order to achieve sustainable economic development from the perspective of the "dual carbon" goal.

Development Of Green Economy In The Batik Industry From A Maqashid Sharia Perspective

This research aims to analyze the development of the green economy in the batik industry in Pekalongan from a sharia maqashid perspective. This research is field research with a qualitative approach. Data sources use primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of batik entrepreneurs and four employees. The data analysis technique uses data triangulation with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The research results show that the home Pesisir Batik and Dudung Batik industries still need to fully implement the green economy concept. The green economy concept in the business has only been partially implemented, namely in the form of producing naturally coloured batik and minimizing batik waste. Generally, the two batik home industries cover five principles: hifz din, hifz nafs, hifz aql, hifz nasl and hifz mal. Activities to minimize waste pollution include protecting religion, life, and descendants. Likewise, with natural colouring activities on batik. Meanwhile, the sustainability of the batik business after the green economy concept consists of internal and external factors. This research can be used by industries that require consideration of moral values, namely goodness (maslahat) to preserve nature and the survival of human life.
