A hardy group of runners braved the warm Californi sunshine at noon on December 10, during the 1981 AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, for the Second Annual Geophysics Fun Run. The 4.3‐mile (7 km) race was organized by Eileen Vergino, Art Boettcher, and Bill Brace, with Vergino officiating. Among the sections, Solar‐Planetary Relationships had the fastest and slowest regular times. Tectonophysics had the greatest number of participants, with Seismology a close second. Harmon Craig once more gave himself an insurmountable handicap; he arrived about an hour after the race started. Were there others?
