The Relationship Between Socio-Cultural, Accessibility and Motivation of Mother with Complete Basic Immunization Status

Introduction: The Ujoh Bilang Health Center, located in Mahakam Ulu Regency, is known to have complete basic immunization coverage from January to December 2022 for 12-month-old children of 143 children (59%) with a target of 241 children. This shows that the complete basic immunization coverage is still below the Mahakam Ulu Regency target of 93.6% and the national target of 93%. Objective: The aim is to know the relationship socio-cultural, accessibility and motivation of mothers with complete basic immunization status in the working area of the Ujoh Bilang Health Center. Methods: This type of research is analytic observation using a cross sectional design. Data analysis using Chi-Square. Results and Discussion: Characteristics of respondents aged between 20-35 years (95.8%), multipara parity (66.2%), high school graduate education (57.7%), work as an IRT (46.5%), socio-cultural good (53.5%), less supportive accessibility (54.9%), good motivation (52.1%), and complete basic immunization status (50.7%). There is a socio-cultural relationship (p-value: 0.044), accessibility (p value: 0.012), mother's motivation (p value: 0.024) with complete basic immunization status in the working area of the Ujoh Bilang Health Center. Conclusion: Socio-cultural, accessibility and mother's motivation are related to complete basic immunization status

COVID-19 Sürecinde Hemşirelerin Merhamet ile Ahlaki Duyarlılıkları Arasındaki İlişki

Background: Nurses have encountered with care load, different physical, psychological and emotional ef-fects during Covid-19 pandemic. 
 
 Objectives: This study conducted to investigate the correlation between nurses compassion and moral sen¬sitivities during Covid-19 pandemic. 
 
 Method: The study was designed in descriptive and correlational type. The study was completed with 713 nurses between January 20 and February 20, 2021 at the Training and Research Hospital, which has been serving as a pandemic hospital for a year. In the study, a questionnaire including data about the socio-demo¬graphic and professional characteristics of the nurses and Compassion Scale and Moral Sensitivity Ques¬tionnaire were used. The data were collected online. In the analysis of comparative data, Pearson correlation analysis, t-test, one way ANOVA analysis and tests were used. 
 
 Results: In the study, it was found that the total mean scores of the nurses were 94.45±11.75 for the com-passion scale and 76.76±26.91 for the moral sensitivity questionnaire. There was negative correlation be-tween the compassion total score and holistic approach, orientation while positive correlation between the total score and conflict, practice subscales. There was positive correlation moral sensitivity total scale and subscales kindness, common humanity, mindfulness while negative correlation between total score and disengagement. Younger, female, single, childless, getting opinion from patient/relative nurses have high compassion. High school graduate, employed 11 years and above, nurses have high moral sensitivity. 
 
 Conclusion: It can be said that compassion affects moral sensitivity in positive and negative dimensions during the pandemic process. In this stressful process, it can be suggested to organize trainings to support nurses morally and psychologically and to increase moral sensitivity.

An Assessment of the University Usage of Social Media Platforms: Case from Lebanon—Analytics—Part 2

This paper, the second part of two, aims to provide results and findings to support the main objective of the research, i.e., to assess how a selection of Lebanese Universities utilizes social media platforms to attract potential student candidates. Social Media in the last decade has become a significant recruitment media adopted by universities around the globe, including Lebanon, to attract and effectively recruit millennial high school graduates who are digitally proficient and smart. Six universities were involved, so capturing recorded activity is essential to assess such efforts and pinpoint gaps that must be addressed to justify student recruitment investments by universities. This study is based on a mixed approach though with a concentration on the quantitative, deductive, and descriptive approaches capitalizing on collected data from the different university social media platforms and performing the required analysis to help categorize selected universities in their efforts, successes, and gaps. This paper shows the numerical, graphical, and discussion analyses of the results. Results confirm there is a lack of motivation schemes to attract potential candidates and encourage them to interact with such platforms. Moreover, universities lack specialized digital marketing staff to produce the appropriate content and design marketing strategies that are attractive, interactive, and with high response rates to inquiries.

United States Long-Term Trends in Adult BMI (1959-2018): Unraveling the Roots of the Obesity Epidemic.

The escalating rates of obesity since the 1950s poses a critical public health challenge across all age groups in the United States. While numerous studies have examined cross-sectional disparities across racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups, there has been limited research on long-term trends. To address this gap, we analyzed average adult body mass index (BMI) trends from 1959 to 2018, using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) and the National Health Examination Survey (NHES). Employing time series analysis, we evaluated BMI trends across income, education, and race/ethnicity. The results revealed a consistent upward trajectory in average BMI across all groups over the six-decade period, with no significant differences by income or education levels among high school graduates. However, individuals with less than a high school education displayed a more gradual increase in BMI. Racial disparities were also evident, with Black adults showing higher BMI growth rates compared to White adults, while Hispanic and other racial groups experienced slower increases. These findings underscore the need for systemic interventions to address the ongoing obesity epidemic, emphasizing the importance of research to identify trends over time and a system-thinking approach to inform effective population-level interventions and policy decisions.

Quality of Prenatal Care Among Mothers in Selected Barangays in Davao City, Philippines

Prenatal care encompasses medical attention provided to pregnant women from conception to childbirth. This study aimed to determine the association between the respondents' sociodemographic profiles and the quality of prenatal care. A descriptive, correlational research method was used in this study. Utilizing the "a priori power analysis," 120 respondents were randomly selected using the following criteria: mothers who had prenatal checkups in selected barangay health centers in a District in Davao City, of legal age, and were willing to participate in the study, after giving birth one to three months. Data were collected from March to April 2024. Results revealed that most respondents were young adult, primigravida, multiparous, with full-term babies, high school graduates, and family monthly income of 7,000 – 10,000. The quality of prenatal care was high, particularly the "information sharing," anticipatory guidance, sufficient time, approachability, availability, and support and respect. Furthermore, educational attainment, particularly undergraduates, high school graduates, and baccalaureate degree holders, and with term babies, was noted to have a statistically significant association with their quality of prenatal care. Hence, having a good educational attainment and a "term baby" reciprocates good prenatal care among the respondents. The quality of prenatal care upholds standards of giving good services and approaches that participants experience during their prenatal checkups.

Factors Affecting Attitude Towards Research among Nursing Students: A Cross-sectional Survey from Taif, Saudi Arabia

Introduction: Research skills are an essential part of what it takes to be a professional nurse. While the research attitudes of nursing students in other countries have been extensively studied, research on nursing students’ attitude towards nursing research in Saudi Arabia is limited. Aim: To examine the factors affecting nursing students’ Attitude Towards Research (ATR). Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Taif University, Taif, Saudi Arabia, over a duration of five months from March 2023 to August 2023. 60 fourth-year nursing students from a single Saudi University (Taif University) participated in the present cross-sectional research. The English version of the ATR questionnaire scale was the main instrument for data collection. The scale consists of 32 items, each with a corresponding Likert scale answer option ranging from “1-strongly disagree” to “5-strongly agree.” Those who scored higher exhibited a more positive attitude toward research. Differences in research attitudes were analysed using the t-test and one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Results: The mean age of the study population was 21.7±1.4 years. All 60 (100%) participants were males, and 44 (73.3%) of the study subjects were in the age group of 21 to 23 years. A total of 32 (53.3%) of the participants had high school research experience. The research attitude among nursing students had a composite mean score of 106.6±18.4. There was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) in mean attitude toward research scores among different age groups, types of secondary and high school graduates, and those with high school research experience. Conclusion: The present study found a significant difference in ATR among nursing undergraduates concerning age, types of secondary and high school graduates, and high school research experience. Qualitative research might provide additional insights into the topic of attitude toward research among undergraduates.

Parental Involvement of Economically Challenged Students in the New Normal Education

Parental involvement in their children's education plays a vital role in the holistic development of the child’s potential. It is a paramount factor for student’s academic success. This study focused on the parental involvement of economically challenged students in the new normal. The primary purpose of the research study was to determine the level of homebased parental involvement, coping, challenges encountered, and coping mechanisms. Respondents are parents of bonafide students of Lapinigan National High School during the school year 2021-2022. The study utilized a mixed descriptive research method employing a quantitative-descriptive survey and qualitative thematic data analysis. The study employed frequency, weighted mean, percentage, and Spearman rank correlation coefficient to analyze quantitative data on the demographic profile, home-based involvement, and parents' coping mechanisms. The findings revealed that respondents are married mothers, high school graduates, primarily housekeepers, and have 3 to 4 children. Parents' home-based involvement falls into giving positive reinforcement to their children working independently in the light of remote learning. Findings revealed that gender, marital status, and number of children have no significant relationship to the level of home-based involvement. Educational attainment and occupation exhibited a significant relationship. Thematic analysis indicated that parents encountered struggles in the cultural aspect, including setting priorities, parental role, and limited knowledge. In addition, parents experienced inflation, unemployment, and inadequate resources in the economic aspect. Furthermore, results showed that parents hurdled challenges through religious coping, self-management, social support, and resourcefulness. The study recommended that school personnel and stakeholders utilize the proposed intervention program to acquaint parents with the diverse activities they can provide their children in remote learning. Furthermore, local government units actively implement economic and livelihood programs that would benefit parents belonging to the poor sector.

Crowdsourced Data for Informed Urban Development: A Social Media Crowdsourcing Test

This data-intensive study examined civic engagement in urban environments, and we found a varied participant sample with ages ranging from 22 to 40 (mean age 31.4), nearly equal gender distribution (52% female, 48% male), and a range of educational backgrounds, including postgraduates (35%), high school graduates (25%), and bachelor's degree holders (40%). A rich tapestry of civic activities was found throughout our inquiry, with 15% making financial contributions, 35% attending, and 45% actively volunteering. Social network research revealed that participants with a wider range of social connections had higher levels of engagement, underscoring the critical function that social networks play in promoting civic participation. Informed urban development and community cohesiveness depend on understanding the complex interactions between demographics, participation roles, and social networks, all of which are shaped by this research.

The Extent of Nurses' Discharge Education to the Patient's Preparedness for Self-Management

Background:Nurses are known for providing their patients with comprehensive care; patient education through discharge instructions typically falls short of expectations due to understaffing and work overload. Patient self-management of their health conditions at home demands adequate discharge education. Insufficient discharge education can compromise patients' ability to manage their health conditions at home, causing unplanned hospital readmissions. When the patients feel that they are being cared for through the provision of discharge education, they are likely to comply with the instructions given, which may contribute to the patient's optimal well-being and may prevent hospital readmission. Objective: This study aimed to determine the correlation between nurses' extentofdischargeeducationandpatients'preparednessforself-management.Methods:Adescriptive-correlational research design was used to determine the correlation between nurses' extent of discharge education and patients' preparedness for self-management. One hundred eight (108) respondents were selected through consecutive sampling. They answered the Medication, Exercise, Health Teaching, Outpatient Patient Department Visit, Referral, Diet, and Spirituality (MEHORDS) discharge assessment tool. MEHORDS is a researcher-made questionnaire with 0.756 and 0.789 reliability coefficients for assessing nurses' extent of discharge education and patients' preparedness for self-management, respectively. Results:The study shows that most of the respondents are middle-aged adults (22.22%), male (57%), married (63.89%), high school graduates (69.44%), unemployed (61.11%), with cerebrovascular disease (35.91%), and have experienced at least one hospital readmission (37.96%). The study revealed that respondents received a poor level of discharge education (x=1.49) during their discharge process and had no overall preparedness (x = 1.75) for self-management. Moreover, there is a significant positive correlation between the nurses' discharge education and patients' preparedness for self-management (p=0.001). Conclusion:This study highlighted the importance of providing nurses comprehensive discharge education in promoting patients' self-management. Incorporating the MEHORDS contents may not only assist the nurses in managing their time in the provision of discharge education to patients but also serve as a guide to nurses in delivering a thorough discharge education

Analysing Urban Social Networks for Civic Participation: Data-Intensive Insights from the Civic Participation Test

This research delves into the dynamics of civic engagement in urban settings. The sample of participants was broad, with ages ranging from 22 to 40 years, nearly equal gender distribution (52% female, 48% male), and a range of educational backgrounds, including postgraduates (35%), bachelor's degree holders (40%), and high school graduates (25%). Numerous chances for participation exist in urban environments, as seen by our examination of data on civic activities. These include voter registration campaigns, town hall meetings, and community clean-up initiatives. In addition, members' responsibilities in these activities varied: 35% attended events, 15% made financial contributions, and 45% actively volunteered. Our results highlight the significance of social networks in urban civic engagement by showing that individuals with a wide range of social connections were more likely to participate in civic activities. The study's findings highlight the complex nature of civic participation in cities and have applications for encouraging diversity and community building in urban environments.

A Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Planned Video-assisted Health Educational Program on Knowledge of Health Hazards and its Prevention Among Selected Sanitary Workers of City Corporation Kalaburagi District of Karnataka State

Aim: The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a planned video-assisted health educational program on knowledge of health hazards and its prevention among selected sanitary workers of the city corporation Kalaburagi district of Karnataka state.Materials and Methods: This study used quasi-experimental methods. In this study, a single-group pre-test and post-test research design was used. City corporation Kalaburagi district hosted this study. This study has 100 participants. The sample size is 100. The researcher employed basic random sampling in this investigation.Results: Most subjects (50%) were 30–39 years old. The sample was 51% male. Most subjects (40%) were high school graduates. Most sanitary workers were married (65%). Hindus make up 54% of respondents. About 31% had 1–5 years of experience. About 48% of subjects obtain TV info. It also found that 98% of sanitary staff had poor pre-test knowledge. In the post-test, 46% of subjects had enough knowledge of health hazard prevention after the scheduled video-assisted health educational course The respondents’ mean pre-test knowledge scores were 19.43 (38.86%) with a standard deviation of 3.143, indicating poor knowledge. After the planned video-assisted health educational session, respondents’ mean knowledge scores improved to 37.28 (74.56%) with a standard deviation of 2.985. Furthermore, at 0.01 significance, the “t” = 40.378 was bigger than the tablevalue. Age, gender, education, marital status, religion, prior employment experience providing sanitary services, and information source were not significant at the 0.05 levels. There is no significant correlation found between the knowledge level of sanitary workers and the studied factors.Conclusion: It appears that pre- and post-test sanitary workers’ health hazard prevention knowledge differs and program of video-assisted health education on health dangers and preventive for chosen sanitation personnel of City Corporation, Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.

Stakeholders Assessment of Carrying Capacity and Sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a Tourist Destination

This study aimed to determine the carrying capacity and sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination as assessed among the stakeholders and as inputs to a strategic tourism development plan. The study was conducted in October 2022. This survey-correlational research involved 225 stakeholders of Islas de Gigantes as stakeholders of the study. Using the sector representation, as guide, the simple random sampling technique was used in the selection of the stakeholders of the study. Two (2) researcher-made data-gathering instruments was used to gather data needed for the investigation— the Carrying Capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a Tourist Destination Assessment Scale and the Sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a Tourist Destination Assessment Scale. Obtained data were analyzed using frequency counts, percentage analyses, means, and standard deviations, the t-test for independent samples, the One-way ANOVA, and the Pearson’s r. The .05 alpha level was used as the criterion for the acceptance or rejection of the null hypotheses. Study results revealed that, generally, the stakeholders are males, younger, single, and high school graduates. Most are local tourists, government employees, have lower incomes, and represent a non-government organization. Most establishments had average monthly revenue of ₱100,000 or less, have 10 or more employees, and have without logistic support, transport provided and LGU support. The stakeholders assessed the carrying capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of physical or ecological carrying capacity, economic carrying capacity, and social carrying capacity, above the desired carrying capacity and the sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of optimal use of environmental resources, sociocultural authenticity of host communities, viable long-term economic operations, with extreme sustainability. The stakeholders differed significantly in their assessment of the carrying capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of social carrying capacity when they were classified according to their personal characteristics in terms of civil status, educational background, and sector represented; in their assessment of the carrying capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of economic carrying capacity when they were classified according to island characteristics in terms of average monthly revenue, manpower resources, transport availability, and LGU support; and in their assessment of the carrying capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of physical or ecological carrying capacity when they were classified according to island characteristics in terms of LGU support. They differed significantly in their assessment of sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of sociocultural authenticity of host communities and viable long-term economic operations when they were classified according to their characteristics in terms of civil status, educational background and sector represented; in their assessment of the sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of optimal use of environmental resources when they were classified according to the island characteristics in terms of average monthly revenue, manpower resources, transport availability, and LGU support; and in their assessment of sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of sociocultural authenticity of host communities when they were classified according to the island characteristics in terms of manpower resources. Finally, positive and significant relationships existed among stakeholders’ assessment of the carrying capacity of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of physical or ecological carrying capacity, economic carrying capacity, and social carrying capacity and the sustainability of Islas de Gigantes as a tourist destination in terms of optimal use of environmental resources, sociocultural authenticity of host communities, viable long-term economic operations.

EMOCIONALNI DISKURS U „UČENOM MAČKU“ BRANKA V. RADIČEVIĆA

Animals as characters have been present in literature from its very beginning, from ancient fables, stories about animals, through the biblical motif in the story of Adam and Eve to contemporary literary works, especially in works intended for children. Starting from the approach of animal studies as a discipline that deals with the analysis of the depiction of animals in literature, focusing on children’s literature, the anthropomorphic aspect of the analysis was singled out. Branko V. Radičević (1925–2001) sculpted figures of animals in his works intended for children. The aim of the paper is to analyze the emotional discourse in Branko V. Radičević’s animalistic prose for children. The focus will be on the work The Learned Cat (Učeni mačak), the tasks are to observe the characteristics and way of building the characters of animals, especially the cat, then the dog, and to analyze the mutual communication of literary characters. With a brilliant storytelling style, linguistic expression, with the full support of imagination, Radičević created the novel The Learned Cat. It is a truly beautiful and imaginatively spun story about a cat who, after becoming a high school graduate, experiences unusual adventures in search of a vocation. He represented animals as heroes in almost all forms of prose for children – from stories, poetry, all the way to novels. While in his poetry animals appear less, mostly as an integral part of nature and serve to better describe it, in his prose works, especially in the analyzed work The Learned Cat, animals are the main characters who go through various events or whose function is to help the main character (in human form), but also pose a threat to the main character. This novel also shows the importance of emotions in people’s lives in general, how positive ones such as neighbourly love, empathy, compassion bring them pleasure, but how it is necessary to face the negative ones, such as fear, and overcome them.

Analysis of Indonesia’s Human Resource Development

Lack of human resource skills and low educational attainment are still problems related to human resources in Indonesia. According to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), which represents 258,000 members in more than 165 countries, one of the main challenges for Indonesian human resources today is competition. They believe that the demand for qualified and trained human resources throughout the world has increased, but productivity and quality of human resources are still very low at present. In Indonesia itself, data shows that the number of workers has a low level of education. The Central Statistics Agency noted that Indonesia’s working population will reach 139.85 million people in August 2023. Based on their level of education, the domestic working population is dominated by elementary school graduates and below, the number reached 51.49 million people or contributed 36.82% of the total working population in the country. Then there were 24.85 million junior high school graduate workers, or 17.77%. Meanwhile, the working population with high school graduates is 28.33 million people or accounts for 20.25%. Meanwhile, 17.33 million Indonesian workers are vocational school graduates. The proportion reached 12.40%. Meanwhile, the population of university graduates is recorded at 14.44 million people, or 10.32% of the total working population nationally. Lastly, the number of workers graduating from Diploma I/II/III is the lowest, namely only 3.41 million people or 2.44%. Education level can indicate the quality and productivity of the workforce. According to the scope of work, the majority of the working population in Indonesia works in the informal sector, namely 59.11%. Meanwhile, the other 40.89% work in the formal sector. Because most human resources have limited skills and a low level of education, it will be difficult to increase the productivity and quality of human resources to compete. In the current era of advanced technology and industrialization, human resources are needed who can develop, think more advanced and are able to adapt to the times. The quality of human resources is the key to the country’s future success. Superior and competitive human resources mean that Indonesia is treated equally and respected by other countries. The quality of Indonesia’s human resources is still weak, therefore training and development needs to be carried out to improve quality. This research aims to analyze human resource development in Indonesia. Data was analyzed qualitatively. The results of the research show that Indonesian human resources have developed through education and training. This can be improved in order to achieve increased quality of human resources.

Social Mobility in Yeshiva High Schools in the 1980s: The Importance of Habitus and Religious Zionist Socialization

This article addresses the mobile experience of Mizrahi graduates of yeshiva high schools in the late 1980s. The research findings showed that the graduates attributed a central role to yeshiva high school in their process of social mobility. The yeshiva high school functioned as an elite educational institution and assisted students in the cultivation of a habitus that enabled social mobility. In addition, the students also experienced “sectoral mobility” as a result of their studies; their time in yeshiva high school was key to their integration into Israeli religious Zionist society. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the importance of habitus as a condition for mobility, with a particular focus on the religious Zionist socialization processes that took place in yeshiva high school in the 1980s.

A10: Analyzing Perceptual Differences Toward Esports Among Students Across Various Educational Levels of America

Purpose: Electronic sports (Esports) draw increasing attention in the world and become popular across institutions of American higher education. Scholars in Esports research have explored various findings and discussions related to education, marketing and promotion, organization and management, and sociology and psychology of sport. However, the perceptual differences of Esports participants remain unknown across educational levels across American institutions. The purposes of this study were to examine the perceptual differences toward Esports across educational levels in the United States. Methods: A total of 397 voluntary participates with various education levels took part in a reginal survey in the east coast of United States. The participants included the students from high schools (n = 135), 2-year colleges (n = 90), 4-year colleges (n = 132), and graduate schools (n = 40). A validated and reliable instrument of Profile for Perception of Esports (PEP; Chen et al., 2021) was utilized as the survey instrument. PEP includes 22 items categorized as five factors (Attraction, Socialization, Economics, Technicity, Constraints). After approval by the institutional review board (IRB), the survey was conducted among three selected high schools, two community colleges, and three 4-year universities including graduate schools or programs. The valid data was analyzed by using SPSS 28.00. Reliability, ANOVAs, and Post hoc Scheff tests were utilized to interpret the data. Results: The Cronbach’s Alpha of the PEP was 0.842 in this study. ANOVAs indicated significant differences in the factor of Attraction (F = 2.61, p < 0.05), Technicity (F = 4.28, p < 0.01), and Socialization (F = 2.52, p < 0.05). Post hoc Scheff tests further explored that the high school group scored significantly higher than the Graduate school group (M = 4.58 vs. M = 3.85) on the factor of Technicity. The 2-year college group rated substantially higher on the factor of Attraction compared to the high school student group (p < .05, M = 4.86 vs. M = 4.59), undergraduate group (p < .05, M = 4.86 vs. M = 4.62), and graduate school group (M = 4.86 vs. M = 4.09). In addition, the 2-year college group scored considerably higher than the graduate study group (p < .05, M = 5.03 vs. M = 4.34) on the factor of Socialization. Conclusion: The research indicated that Esports participants in lower education level students perceived higher than the participants in higher educational levels in Attraction, Socialization, and Technicity of Esports. This could be attributed to the fact that the students at lower educational level might have spent more time participating in electronic sports or digital game activities. In comparison, the participants at higher educational levels perhaps spent more time on their academic work and further career development. Future research on this direction could examine perceptual differences of Esports among the participants across K-12 schools or be compared in international settings.

Utilization of Health Services by Stunting Families in Tasikmalaya

Stunting is a national issue that attracts a lot of attention. Several factors are the cause of stunting in Indonesia, namely: bad parenting, including deficit knowledge about health and nutrition before and during pregnancy and after the mother gives birth; limited health services, including ANC-Ante Natal Care services (health services for mothers during pregnancy); Post Natal Care and quality early learning: deficit nutrition; and difficulty accessing clean water and sanitation.Aim: The research aims to describe the utilization of health services by families with stunting and the factors that influence it. Methods:This research design is quantitative with descriptive methods. The population was families with stunting in the Sukamulya Village area, namely 18 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Data collection is done directly using the univariate data analysis technique. Results:The results showed that 44.4% of families with stunting did not use health services for treatment, and 22.2% of families with stunted toddlers rarely used posyandu services. Predisposing characteristic factors that influence visits to health services in this study are age > 35 years and junior high school graduates. Conclusion:In this study, the characteristic factor that influences the ability to visit health services is that the majority of family income is <UMR (unit market reference), and 38.9% do not have health insurance. The factor that influenced visits to health services in this study showed that 61.2% of families with stunting had a negative perception of stunting, such as the perception that stunting was not a serious problem that did not require immediate action.

Antibody Response to Sars-CoV-2 in Adults After 18 Months of Second Dose Vaccination of Astra Zeneca

Vaccination is one of the methods of preventing SARS-Cov-2 infection. Although the efficacy of several vaccines has been observed, it is unknown how long the antibodies remain in the body. The purpose of this study was to examine the antibody titers in adults, 18 months after receiving two doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine. This is a cross-sectional study with adult subjects who received two doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine in the Bogor area, conducted in 2023. To evaluate antibody titers (IgG) in serum specimens, the Chemiluminescent Microparticle Immunoassay (CMIA) method was utilized. The antibody titer ≥ 50.0 AU/mL was considered positive. The characteristics 122 subjects were mostly: female (63,1%), 36-45 years old, senior high school graduate (45.9%), unemployed (62,3%), had hypertension history (44.7%), and had no COVID-19 infection during the last six months. The results demonstrate that all the subjects had a positive SARS Cov-2 antibody titer, with a range titer of 87 - 80260 AU/mL and a geometric mean titer of 3246.4 AU/mL. In conclusion, this study found that the two doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine made a significant contribution to the acquisition of anti-SARS-CoV-2S antibodies in adults.

Why do Chinese High School Graduates Choose Sino-Foreign Cooperative Universities? A Grounded Theory Approach

Sino-foreign cooperative universities (SFCU) represent the advanced manifestation of transnational education in China and has profoundly shaped the country’s higher education landscape. Despite the tremendous development of SFCUs, there is limited research on the motivations and driving factors of students choosing to study at SFCUs. To bridge this research gap, this study employs the grounded theory approach to examine why Chinese high school graduates choose SFCUs as study destinations. This study reveals that Chinese students’ choice of SFCUs results from personal considerations, institution-level characteristics, and social contexts. A theoretical framework is further proposed to better understand Chinese students’ motivations behind their choice to SFCUs. We also draw theoretical contributions on students’ mobility and marketing strategies that attract Chinese students to study at SFCUs with the findings.

Do temperament trajectories from late childhood through adolescence predict success in school? Findings from a longitudinal study of Mexican-origin youth.

School achievement has long-term consequences for occupational success, mental health, and overall psychological adjustment. The present study examined the association between temperament trajectories from late childhood through adolescence and academic outcomes during late adolescence and young adulthood. Data come from the California Families Project, a longitudinal study of 674 Mexican-origin youth assessed 12 times from Age 10 to 23, and from school records. Results from latent growth curve models indicate that higher levels of Effortful Control (EC) at Age 10 were associated with better academic achievement (i.e., higher high school grade point average and test scores, greater likelihood of high school graduation and college attendance) in late adolescence and young adulthood. Higher levels of Negative Emotionality (NEM) at Age 10 were associated with worse academic achievement, but this effect did not hold for all facets of NEM. Neither the levels nor slopes of Positive Emotionality (Surgency, Affiliation) consistently predicted school achievement. There were no main effects of the EC or NEM slopes; however, statistically significant interactions between these slopes and parental monitoring emerged. When parental monitoring was low, youth who experienced greater increases in EC (vs. flat or decreasing slopes) had better academic achievement, and youth who experienced greater increases in NEM had worse academic achievement; in contrast, when parents closely monitored their children, changes in EC and NEM were only weakly associated with achievement. Overall, these findings demonstrate that temperament in late childhood, and changes in temperament across adolescence, have important prospective effects on academic achievement.
