Distribution Activities At The Sungai Lulut Traditional Market As A Source of Learning Social Studies

The Sungai Lulut traditional market is a market in the Banjar Regency area, specifically in the Sungai Lulut sub-district. In this market there are economic activities that can be used as a learning resource. The learning process cannot be separated from the learning resources used. One of several learning sources that can be used is the environment. With regard to the environment, there is economic activity from the distribution around students that can be used as a learning resource in social studies learning. Learning resources that utilize existing economic activities in the market are still not optimally used by teachers because there are obstacles such as limited time, remote locations and inadequate facilities, even though they are very effective if used as learning resources. This research aims to describe the economic activities of distribution activities in the Sungai Lulut traditional market as a social studies learning resource. The approach used in this research is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The data validity test used is triangulation of sources, techniques and time. The research results show that distribution activities in the Sungai Lulut traditional market are through direct and indirect distribution. Direct distribution, for example, risol traders and food stalls in the Sungai Lulut traditional market. This distribution activity is suitable for social studies learning as a learning resource for economic activity material, namely production, distribution and consumption at the even seventh semester grade junior high school level.

ANALISIS KONTEN HOTS DALAM BUKU SIMPAY BASA SUNDA KELAS VIII

The goal of 21st century learning is that students are expected to have higher order thinking skills. But in fact, students' high-level thinking skills in Indonesia are still worrying. Based on that, this study aims to understand aspects of higher order thinking and describe its application in the content contained in textbooks in schools. In analyzing and describing content that has high-level thinking content, (1) cognitive level, (2) stimulus elements, and (3) contextual elements will be analyzed. This research method uses descriptive analytic method with a qualitative approach. The techniques used in this research are documents and notes. The text book used in this study is the Simpay Basa Sunda book at the VIII grade junior high school level. The results of this study contained 413 data whose details were (1) various cognitive levels in the book there were 72.39% at level 1 (knowledge and understanding), 9.68% at level 2 (application), and 17.91% at level 3 (reasoning). (2) the stimulus elements in this book are dominated by verbal stimuli totaling 323 stimuli, then visual stimuli totaling 1 stimulus. (3) there are 114 contextual elements in this book with a percentage of 28%. It can be concluded that this book can support the development of higher-order thinking skills, and can also support the ongoing 21st century learning process. However, it must be noted that this can be developed further by increasing the content containing HOTS.

The Development of English Differentiated Teaching Modules at 7 Grade Junior High School 3 Tebo

This study aimed to develop the differentiated learning Modul as one of English teaching instruments. As it is required to fulfill one of Merdeka Curriculum characteristics, especially the differentiated learning. This differentiated learning module was designed and developed based on students’ learning styles (auditory, visual and kinesthetic) and students’ talents and interests. This study was conducted using Research and Development method with ADDIE development model. The module development was focused on the series of differentiated learning modules for English in 7 graders. After conducting the analysis, design, and development. The differentiated learning module was validated in term of material and media. The average result in the material validation test was 87,5 % in the very valid category, while the media validation test was 89,5% in the very valid category. Furthermore, the product practicality was found through the questionnaires and product trial observation. The questionnaires were used to find out the perspective of teacher and students toward this developed module. It was found that the module was feasible to be used with the percentage 95,82% for teacher’s questionnaire and 99,15% for students’ questionnaire. Moreover, observation sheet result showed that this differentiated learning module was feasible with the percentage 90,85%.

Lexical Density of Reading Materials in An English Textbook: A Content Analysis

In reading, students are required to learn to comprehend the content of the text. Lexical density is one of the factors that influences students’ reading comprehension. Lexical density is a condition of words’ proportion in a text, which shows the ratio of content words (CW) and grammatical function words (GFW). This research used the “Passport to the World” English textbook for the 8th grade of junior high school to be analyzed. This study aims to find out the genres of reading materials offered by the curriculum 2013 found in the textbook and to examine the lexical density of the reading materials in the textbook. A qualitative approach was applied, while content analysis was used as the research design. Data were collected with document analysis. The findings showed that there are 3 genres of reading materials, among 5 genres offered by the curriculum 2013, included in the textbook such as descriptive, recount, and functional texts in the form of announcements. From those, it was found that two texts were categorized as low lexical density, 11 texts were categorized as medium lexical density, and four texts were labeled as high lexical density. In addition, the composition of this text did not reach the ideal ratio of 1:2:1 for index difficulty. However, this textbook can still be suggested to be used in the class with some usage modifications in the classroom.

This research aims to produce multimedia learning in informatics subjects using a 4D (four-D) development model which includes four stages, namely define, design, development, and dissemination. In the Development Step, a media validity test was carried out with two media expert validators and one material expert validator, then a practicality test was carried out on 30 junior high school grade VIII students to test the practicality of the multimedia learning developed. The results of the media validity assessment with validator I got a percentage of 94.67 with the category "very valid" and the results with validator II got a percentage of 97.33 with the category "very valid". The validity of the material obtained by the material validator obtained a percentage of 96.36 with the category of "very valid". Multimedia learning is said to be practical based on a practicality test with a percentage of 95.43 with the category "very practical". The steps taken in analyzing the respondents and then finding the percentage of the average results can be determined by the assessment criteria for the practicality test. Based on the results of the validity and practicality test, it can be concluded that the learning multimedia product in the informatics subject is very feasible to be used in the learning process.

How Does Nine Years of Compulsory Education in China Impact the Rural Area People's Living Condition?

Nine years of compulsory education, a concept introduced by the Chinese government in 1986, provides complimentary education by the state from primary school (Grade 1-6) through junior high school (Grade 7-9) across the entire society. This paper reevaluates the widely accepted view that Chinas nine-year compulsory education policy is universally beneficial. It aims to shed light on the challenges and limitations of the policy, particularly in rural areas, and seeks to move beyond the uncritical acceptance of this educational system. Employing a comprehensive methodological approach, the analysis integrates an extensive review of both domestic and international literature, media reports, and a rigorous evaluation of data reliability. Through comparative and refined analytical techniques, the paper presents trustworthy findings. The results indicate that the policy does not uniformly serve all families, especially in rural contexts where the costsincluding material, living, and opportunity costsoften surpass the benefits. These expenses can deepen economic hardships for some households, although, at a broader level, the policy significantly boosts educational quality and societal awareness, providing a strong foundation for China's future growth. The conclusion suggests that despite its successes in enhancing literacy rates and access to education, the policy requires targeted adjustments to effectively address the persistent economic and gender disparities in rural communities.

Content Analysis of Bahasa Indonesia Textbook for Indonesian Language

As the official language, Indonesian language has a key position in the curriculum of Indonesia, including in from the language policy, education system, class schedule, the national main curriculum assessment, etc. The Indonesian language textbooks for first grade Junior High School is compiled based on the curriculum objectives and contents stipulated in the constitution of the country. The compilation and development of this Indonesian language textbooks also refer to the teaching design of content and Integrated Language Learning (CLIL) to prepare and design the content of textbooks. The four aspects in the subtopics, i.e., ‘language comprehension ability’, ‘language summary or restatement ability’, ‘language analysis ability’ and ‘language listening, speaking, reading, writing and practice ability’, are consistent with the four factors of ‘content’, ‘cognition’, ‘communication’, and ‘culture’ in CLIL.

Pengaruh Media Pembelajaran Audio Visual Terhadap Peningkatan Prestasi Peserta Didik Sekolah Minggu di Kabupaten Pesawaran Lampung

This study aims to investigate the impact of audio-visual learning aids on enhancing the academic performance of students attending Girikirti Vihara Sunday School. Employing an experimental design with a quantitative approach, the study utilized a questionnaire administered to 12 students spanning from fourth grade elementary to third grade junior high school. Data collected through the questionnaires were analyzed using a Likert scale, while the effects of visual, audio, and audio-visual media on Buddhist religious values were assessed using the t-test. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between the use of learning media (visual, audio, and audio-visual) and comprehension of Buddhist subjects, with achievement percentages of 85.41%, 81.25%, and 87.5%, respectively. Similarly, the impact on students' concentration during learning yielded percentages of 81.25%, 79.16%, and 83.33% for visual, audio, and audio-visual media, respectively. Moreover, the influence of these media on students' interest in Buddhist learning material was evident, with achievement percentages of 83.33%, 79.16%, and 85.41%. Regarding memory retention in Buddhist subjects, percentages of 77.08%, 81.25%, and 83.33% were achieved for visual, audio, and audio-visual media, respectively. Furthermore, the t-test analysis demonstrated a significant effect of learning media (visual, audio, and audio-visual) on the scores of Buddhist religious subjects at Girikirti Vihara Sunday School. These findings underscore the importance of utilizing effective learning media in the teaching process to enhance student achievement and comprehension.

Pengaruh Self Confidence Terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP

This study aims to analyze the self-cofidence and mathematics learning outcomes of students and to show the significant influence of self-cofidence on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade students in one of the junior high schools in the city of Mataram. The subjects in this study were 27 students from grade C who were selected by cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this research are self-confidence and mathematics learning outcomes tests. Data collection techniques in this research were self-confidence questionnaires and mathematics learning outcomes tests. The results of self-confidence data analysis and mathematics learning outcomes tests show that: (1) self-confidence indicators with good categories, namely optimism, responsibility, being objective, rational or realistic, improving abilities and skills, successes and failures obtained, as well as acceptance and appreciation in the classroom, while indicators of belief in one's own abilities are in the fairly good category. As for the mathematics learning results, it shows that students are more capable in the aspect of knowledge than skills, for mathematical problem solving, students have shown their ability at the stage of understanding problems and preparing problem solving plans quite well, while the ability of students at the stage of implementing the plan and re-examining problem solving is still low; (2) There is a significant influence of self-confidence on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade junior high school students, with a contribution of 33.9%

ANALYSIS OF THE USE ACTIVITY BASED COSTING IN DETERMINING TUITION FEES

Numerous educational institutions in Indonesia suffer financial deficits, negatively impacting educational quality. This study aims to ascertain the Tuition Fees at Nurul Fajri Islamic Boarding School Majalengka utilizing the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) method. It investigates the application of the ABC method in determining Tuition Fees within educational foundation institutions, a novel approach, particularly for pesantren foundations. The research adopts a qualitative methodology with a problem-focused approach. Data collection involved interviews and an analysis of pertinent financial and operational documents. Cost activity data was processed using ABC costing, resulting in tuition fees calculations based on the ABC method. These calculations were then juxtaposed with the Tuition Fees established by the school administration. The analysis identified a cost discrepancy (undercharging), where the cost per student exceeded the total Tuition Fees income and School Operational Funds (SOF) or Government Subsidy. For junior high school grades 1, 2, and 3, the differences were Rp 68,092, Rp 65,877, and Rp 85,668, respectively. For high school levels 1, 2, and 3, the discrepancies were Rp 6,674, Rp 49,014, and Rp 51,354, respectively. The study recommends that the school increase the monthly tuition fees to adequately cover the actual costs of education.

The Effectiveness of Peer Teaching Method to Improve English Vocabulary of the Seventh Grade Junior High School Students

English vocabulary skill at the junior high school is pivotal for improving their communication skill in English classes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the peer teaching method in improving the English vocabulary mastery of seventh grade students at junior high school, peer teaching method can make students more actively participate in learning where they will try to solve problems together by discussing, therefore, the students can learn cooperatively with respect to each other. This is quantitative experimental research used independent sampling, namely using 2 classes for the sample. The sample of this research is the seventh-grade students of a Junior High School in Sidoarjo The data collection technique used the pre-test and post-test which contained validity tests, reliability tests, pre-test and post-test control group results and experimental group, normality tests, homogeneity tests and T-test results. The results showed that the average pre-test using the peer teaching method was 43.00 and 96.00 in the post test. The significant value of this study was 0.00, the standard significance level was 0.05. Which can be said alternative hypothesis accepted and null hypothesis are rejected, it can be said peer teaching method is effective for use in teaching English vocabulary.

THE EFFECT OF ENGLISH GRAMMAR TEST APPLICATION ON STUDENTS’ GRAMMAR MASTERY OF SIMPLE PAST TENSE AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

<p>The objective of this study is to find out whether there is a significant effect of English Grammar Test (EGT) application on students’ grammar mastery of simple past tense at the eighth grade of Junior High School. Quantitative research method with quasi-experimental design was used in this research. It was conducted at the eighth grade of MTs. Islamiyah Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. The population consisted of 60 students from two classes. Using saturation sampling method, the two classes namely VIII-A and VIII-B were selected as the sample of this study with each class consisted of 30 students. Furthermore, VIII-A class was selected as control class and VIII-B class as experimental. In collecting the data, multiple choice and “fill in the blank” test forms were used in this study. The tests were then distributed in two ways; 1. Pre-test was distributed before the treatment: 2. Post- test was distributed after the treatment. Furthermore, the data was analyzed by using statistical formulation and Microsoft Excel 2013 with 0,05 significance level. After the data was analyzed, it can be found that the value of tobserved was higher than ttable. It can be seen from tobserved (3,839) > ttable (2,001) at the degree of freedom (df) = 58. It means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that English Grammar Test application gives significant effect on students’ grammar mastery of simple past tense at the eighth grade of MTs. Islamiyah Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau.</p>

THE EFFECT OF MEMRISE APPLICATION ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT SEVENTH GRADE OF MTs PAB 1 HELVETIA

<p>The objective of this study was to determine whether or not the application of memrise had a significant effect on vocabulary mastery of seventh grade junior high school students. The aim of the research is to find out whether the use memrise application has a significant on the students’ ability in vocabulary. This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design. The implementation is carried out in class VII MTs PAB 1 Helvetia for the 2020/2021 school year. The population was 192 students and the researcher took 32 students for the experimental class and 32 students for the control class, which means 64 students as the sample. In data collection, researchers used a multiple choice test as an instrument. The tests performed were pre-test which was given before treatment and post-test which was given after treatment. Then, the data obtained were analyzed using the t-test with a significance level of 5% (0.05). Furthermore, the researcher found that the mean post-test score in the experimental class was higher than the control class (75.31> 66.40). The t test results also show that t0 (4.03) is higher than t table at a significance level of 5% (0.05) with 62 degrees of freedom of 2.039. Therefore, the results of 4.03> 2.039 result in H0 (null hypothesis) rejected and Ha (alternative hypothesis) accepted. Thus, the application of memrise has a significant effect on the vocabulary mastery of seventh grade in MTs PAB 1 Helvetia.</p>

Teachers' efforts to improve students' social skills in social studies learning

The current condition of students' social skills can be said to be quite apprehensive. Many behaviors reflect low social skills. This research article discusses students' social skills problems at the 7-9 grade junior high school level. Their social skills raise various problems during the learning process in class. Therefore, this article focuses on research with the objectives of 1) describing the condition of the social skills possessed by students in social studies learning and 2) describing the efforts made by social studies teachers to improve students' social skills. This is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques: observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers used purposive and snowball techniques in selecting research subjects. Data analysis techniques use interactive models consisting of 1) data collection, 2) data condensation, 3) display data, and 4) conclusion drawing and verification. Researchers also used data triangulation techniques to check the validity of the data. The results showed that some students had low social skills. To overcome these problems, teachers make various efforts to improve social skills, which are divided into four indicators: 1) skills to comply with rules, 2) valuing skills, 2) communication skills, and 4) teamwork skills.

An Analysis of Deixis Found in Student English Textbook When English Rings a Bell for the Eight Grade of Junior High School

The aims of this research were to determine the the type deixis and the most dominating type of deixis found in students' English Textbook For The Eight Grade of Junior High School. The design of this study is descriptive qualitative method. The source of data of this study was the conversations contained deixis found in students' English Textbook "When English Rings A Bell" For The Eight Grade of Junior High School. The technique of collecting data used by the resercher was observation with technique of taking note techniques. The data was analyzed By applying the theory of creswell (2007) and to classifying the types of deixis use the theory of Yule (1996). The results show that there were three types of deixis found in students' English Textbook "When English Rings A Bell" for the eight grade of Junior High School, namely person deixis, spatial deixis, and temporal deixis. There were a total of 472 deixis data that contained deixis. Among them there were person deixis was 389 data and has a percentage of 82,41%, spatial deixis was 37 data and has a percentage of 7,84% and temporal deixis was 46 data and has a percentage of 9,75%.

Analysis of the current situation and factors influencing bullying in junior high schools in backward areas of Western, China & A case study of Qingyang City in Gasu

BackgroundQingyang is located in the northwest of China. By analyzing the current situation and risk factors of bullying in junior high schools in Qingyang City, and identify relevant data for formulating prevention and control measures of bullying in western backward areas.MethodsQingyang City is divided into four regions based on economic level and population quality. One junior high school is randomly selected from each region, a total of 1200 students from 4 junior high schools of different levels in Qingyang City were randomly selected, and the “Questionnaire on Middle School Students’ School bullying” was administered between December 2021 and February 2022.ResultsThe reporting rate of bullying in junior high schools in Qingyang was 47.35%. The incidence of campus bullying among urban-rural integration junior high schools, senior students, and male students is higher than that of municipal -level junior high schools, junior students, and female students (P< 0.05). The results of binary logistic regression showed that the second grade of junior high school (OR = 1.39,95% CI: 1.022–1.894), poor student performance (OR = 1.744,95% CI: 1.09–2.743), external dissatisfaction (OR = 2.09,95% CI: 1.177–3.427), mother working in an enterprise (OR = 1.623,95% CI: 1.074–2.453), and urban-rural integration middle school (OR = 3.631,95% CI: 2.547–5.177) were factors affecting bullying in junior high school campus.ConclusionThe reporting rate of bullying in junior high schools in Qingyang City was relatively high, mostly occurring in places lacking supervision and after-school hours.Trial registrationNot applicable.
