Successful endovascular salvage of a maldeployed iliac limb extension during complex aortic reconstruction.

The worst complication during cannulation of the contralateral gate during complex endovascular aortic repair is deployment of the limb extension behind the main graft body. A patient with a 5.7cm juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm was taken to the operating room for fenestrated endovascular aortic repair and iliac branch device. Percutaneous femoral access was used to deploy a Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis, followed by a physician modified Cook Alpha thoracic stent graft with four fenestrations. Next a Gore Excluder was deployed to bridge the fenestrated component to the iliac branch and native left common iliac artery creating distal seal. Due to the severe tortuosity, a buddy wire technique, using a stiff lunderquist wire, was used to cannulate the contralateral gate. Unfortunately, after cannulation, the limb was advanced over the buddy lunderquist wire instead of the luminal wire. We used a backtable modified guide catheter to provide the necessary pushability to navigate wires between the aberrantly deployed limb extension and the iliac branch device. Using through-and-through access, we then successfully deployed a parallel flared limb in the correct plane. Careful communication, wire marking, and attention to intraoperative flow can minimize risks of complication, but knowledge of bail out techniques remains imperative.

Differences in Cardiac-Pulsatility-Induced Displacement and Geometry Changes between the Cook ZBIS and Gore IBE: Postoperative Comparison Using ECG-Gated CTA Scans.

To what extent the stentgraft design of iliac branch devices (IBDs) relates to dynamic deformation is currently unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to quantify and compare displacement and geometry changes during the cardiac cycle of two common IBDs. This paper presents a two-center trial with patients treated with a Zenith bifurcated iliac side (ZBIS) or Gore iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE). All patients underwent a retrospective electrocardiogram (ECG)-gated computed tomographic angiography (CTA) during follow-up. Cardiac-pulsatility-induced displacement was quantified for the following locations: (neo) bifurcation of the aorta, IBD flow divider, distal markers of the internal iliac artery (IIA) component and first IIA bifurcation. Geometrical parameters (length, tortuosity index, curvature and torsion) were quantified over centerlines. Displacement was more pronounced for the IBE than the ZBIS, e.g., craniocaudal displacement of 0.91 mm (0.91-1.13 mm) vs. 0.57 mm (0.40-0.75 mm, p = 0.004), respectively. The IBDs demonstrated similar geometrical parameters in the neo-common iliac artery and distal IIA, except for the larger dynamic curvature and torsion of the distal IIA in IBEs. The IBEs showed more dynamic length and curvature change compared to the ZBIS in the stented IIA. The IIA trajectory showed more pronounced deformation during the cardiac cycle after placement of an IBE than a ZBIS, suggesting the IBE is more conformable than the ZBIS.

A cross-sectional study on the anatomic feasibility of iliac side branch grafts in a real-world setting

ObjectiveThe aim of this cross-sectional, single-center study was to analyze the feasibility of different commercially available iliac branch devices in Europe in a cohort of patients with aorto-iliac aneurysms. MethodsAll patients with aorto-iliac or iliac aneurysms that required iliac aneurysm repair, between 2017 and 2021, were included. Morphologic data was analyzed using computed tomography angiograms. The main outcome was the feasibility of each endoprosthesis (Cook ZBIS, Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis [IBE], and JOTEC E-Iliac) according to the manufacturer’s instructions for use. Secondary outcomes were feasibility in all three devices, in any device, and with adjunctive procedures (liberal criteria). Additionally, a comparative analysis of all three grafts was performed to analyze differences in feasibility. ResultsOverall, 119 iliac aneurysms in 101 patients were included. The mean age was 71 ± 11 years, and 91.6% were male. Feasibility was 52.9% for Cook ZBIS, 33.6% for Gore IBE, and 26.9% for the JOTEC E-Iliac device. A total of 65.5% of patients were feasible with at least one device, whereas only 10.1% complied with all three devices. The main reasons for lack of feasibility were a short common iliac artery length (Cook ZBIS), a narrow common iliac artery diameter (Gore IBE), and a >50° angulation between the external and internal iliac arteries (JOTEC E-Iliac). There was a significant difference between the feasibility of the three devices (P < .001). Cook ZBIS was the graft with the higher feasibility, with 3.3 and 4.4 higher odds when compared with Gore IBE and JOTEC E-Iliac devices, respectively. There was no significant difference between the Gore IBE and the JOTEC E-Iliac. By using liberal criteria, the overall feasibility increased to 95.8%. ConclusionsWe found that only 65.5% of patients were feasible with one of the available devices according to the manufacturer’s instructions for use. The Cook ZBIS was the device with the overall highest feasibility. Extending the use of these devices with adjunctive measures and a more liberal approach increased feasibility to 95.8%.

Outcomes of Gore iliac branch endoprosthesis with internal iliac component versus Gore Viabahn VBX

ObjectiveThe Gore Excluder iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE; W.L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, AZ) is the only iliac branch device approved in the United States to preserve blood flow to the external and internal iliac arteries (IIAs). Some surgeons have used the Gore Viabahn VBX balloon expandable endoprosthesis (VBX; W.L. Gore & Associates) in the IIA rather than the self-expanding endograft designed for the IBE, the internal iliac component (IIC). The objective of the present study was to examine the outcomes for patients treated for aortoiliac artery aneurysms using the IBE with either the IIC or VBX stent. MethodsWe performed a retrospective, single-center review of patients treated for aortoiliac artery aneurysms using the Gore IBE device, with either the IIC or VBX stent into the IIA, from February 2016 to March 2021. The patient demographics, procedure details, 30-day morbidity and mortality, and 6-month and 1-year outcomes and mortality were analyzed. The categorical factors are summarized using frequencies and proportions. Continuous measures are summarized as the mean ± standard deviation. A significance level of P = .05 was assumed for all test results. The analyses were performed using SAS software, version 9.4 (SAS Institute, Cary, NC). ResultsA total of 62 patients (64 arteries) had undergone elective aortoiliac artery aneurysm repair with the IBE. The IIC was used exclusively in 35 cases (55%) and the VBX in 29 (45%). The patients who had received the VBX had had a higher American Society of Anesthesiologists class (P = .006). Upper extremity access was used for VBX delivery in 24.1% of the procedures. No return to the operating room was required in either group. No differences were found in technical success (IIC, 97.1%; VBX, 93.1%; P = .59), the presence of endoleak on completion (20.0% vs 6.9%; P = .17), readmission (97.1% vs 93.1%; P = .59), or mortality (1.6% vs 0%; P = .45) at 30 days. No differences were found in the requirement for any IBE reintervention after 30 days. No type Ia, Ib, or III endoleaks had occurred in either group at any follow-up point. No significant difference was found in internal iliac limb primary patency (IIC, 100%; VBX, 96.3%) between groups. A nonstatistically significant trend was found toward fewer trunk–ipsilateral leg type II endoleaks in the VBX group during follow-up. ConclusionsThese data suggest that the VBX is a reasonable substitute for the IIC, with a comparable safety and efficacy profile. Given its inherent conformability, greater range of diameters, and longer working length, the VBX stent offers expanded IIA branch options with the IBE.

A Multicenter Assessment of Anatomic Suitability for Iliac Branched Devices in Eastern Asian Patients With Unilateral and Bilateral Aortoiliac Aneurysms.

Objective: This study aims to assess the suitability of four types of commercial iliac branch device systems to treat Eastern Asian abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) patients with bilateral or unilateral common iliac artery aneurysms (CIAAs).Methods: Patients with a coexisting AAA and a unilateral or bilateral CIAAs who underwent endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) at two tertiary centers in China from 2015 to 2017 were reviewed. Morphology of lesions was measured and the anatomic suitability for Cook iliac branch device (IBD), Gore iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE), Lifetech iliac branch stent graft (IBSG), and Jotec IBD was evaluated according to the latest instructions for use.Results: Seventy-six patients with AAA were enrolled, including 35 bilateral CIAAs, 41 unilateral CIAAs. A hundred and eleven lesions were investigated aggregately: 16.2, 28.8, 21.6, and 19.8% met the criteria for Cook IBD, Gore IBE, Lifetech IBSG, and Jotec IBD, respectively. A total of 34 (44.7%) patients could be treated for at least one lateral lesion. The diameter of the internal iliac artery (IIA) was the most common restriction for IBD application. Additionally, the IIA diameter of lesions in the bilateral group was significantly larger compared with the unilateral group (P < 0.001). Based on the anatomical characteristics alone, it is likely that IBDs will be more suitable for unilateral lesions than bilateral ones (P < 0.05). However, there was no difference between the suitability for patients with unilateral or bilateral CIAAs (P > 0.05).Conclusions: Less than half of Eastern Asian patients with aortoiliac aneurysms were eligible for IBD application. This was primarily due to the IIA diameter failing to meet the criteria. And thus, the suitability of lesions in bilateral group was significantly lower than that in the unilateral group. Aiming to expand the indications and optimize the design of the iliac branch devices, IIA diameter and the anatomical characteristics of the bilateral lesions should be considered deliberately.

Ipsilateral Iliac Branch Repair Using a Looped Wire, Precannulated Gate Technique

Purpose To describe a novel, entirely ipsilateral femoral technique for distal endograft extension using the Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis. Technique Femoral arterial access is obtained on the side of the intended repair, and a 16F sheath is inserted over a stiff wire. A looped wire is used to pre-cannulate the internal gate of the IBE device prior to insertion, and the device is then positioned and deployed. This through-wire guides access over the IBE flow divider and into the internal gate with a steerable sheath. The internal iliac artery is then selected, and a Viabahn VBX balloon-expandable stent (W.L. Gore, Flagstaff, AZ) is advanced into position and deployed. We present the successful completion of this technique in 4 patients. Conclusion This novel technique allows distal endograft extension with an IBE device using only ipsilateral femoral access and is particularly useful for patients with aneurysmal iliac degeneration in the setting of prior open or endovascular aneurysm repair. This eliminates the need for upper extremity access or contralateral femoral access and navigation across the steep flow divider.

Early results of expanding the anatomical indications for using a Gore Iliac branch endoprosthesis to treat aortoiliac and iliac aneurysms.

To assess the safety and anatomical suitability of using a Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis (IBE) in aortoiliac and iliac aneurysm repair. Between 2017 and 2020, 20 patients underwent endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) with a Gore IBE device (bilateral IBE, n = 1) after expanding the instructions for use (IFU) criteria. We evaluated the early clinical outcomes and suitability of the IFU criteria, retrospectively. Six patients (30%) met all the IFU criteria. Anatomical suitability according to the IFU criteria for the collective total of 21 IBE limbs was confirmed for 10 (47.6%) proximal common iliac arteries, 21 (100%) external iliac arteries, 18 (85.7%) internal iliac arteries, and in the length from the lowest renal artery to the iliac bifurcation in 15 (71.8%) patients. Assisted primary technical success was achieved in all patients with various bail-out techniques. One patient (5%) required a bare-stent insertion 7days after EVAR for severe stenosis in the ipsilateral limb caused by a small terminal aorta. There was no case of occlusion of an iliac branch component device. Gore IBEs were implanted safely and effectively with various bail-out techniques to repair aortoiliac and iliac aneurysms in our Japanese patients with a low rate of inclusion IFU criteria.

Anatomic Suitability of Iliac Branched Devices for Chinese Patients with Abdominal-Iliac Aortic Aneurysm

Preserving internal iliac flow is the key to preventing ischemic complications during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). The aim of this study is to determine the morphological features of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) that have been reported in clinical trials in Chinese patients to identify unique features of iliac branched systems. The data for patients who had common iliac aneurysms suitable for imaging review from 2014 to 2017 at 1 institution in China were reviewed. Three-dimensional workstations were used to measure the centerline diameters and lengths of aortoiliac structures, which were screened for suitability for both Cook iliac branch devices (IBD) and Gore iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE). A total of 102 lesions of common iliac aneurysms were suitable for imaging review. The anatomic standards for the Gore IBE and Cook IBD were met by 13.7% (14/102) and 9.8% (10/102) of the cases, respectively, and 3 cases were suitable for both devices. The most common cause of not meeting the criteria was the same for both the Cook IBD (78.4%) and Gore IBE (48.03%), which was a limitation of the diameter of the target internal iliac artery. Of the 92 lesions excluded from the Cook IBD trial, 11 (11.9%) were eligible for the Gore IBE trial. Likewise, 7.95% (7/88) of the lesions excluded from the Gore IBE trial would have been eligible for the Cook IBD graft. In a practice that is able to enroll patients in both trials, a total of 20.6% (21/102) of the patients would be eligible for treatment, based on the anatomic criteria. The high incidence of iliac artery involvement in AAAs makes EVAR more complicated. Cook IBD and Gore IBE are only suitable for the treatment of a total of 20.6% Chinese patients based on the anatomic criteria. A limitation in the diameter of the target internal iliac artery is the most common cause of failure to meet the criteria for both devices. Future generations of iliac branch technologies should be designed with diameter accommodations for the hypogastric branch stent to reach a wider group of patients with aortoiliac aneurysmal disease.

A propensity score-matched comparison of two commercially available iliac branch devices in patients with similar clinical and anatomic preoperative features

ObjectiveThe objective of this study was to compare the perioperative and midterm results of Zenith Bifurcated Iliac Side (ZBIS; Cook Medical, Bloomington, Ind) and Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis (IBE; W. L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz) iliac branch devices (IBDs) in treatment of dilated iliac bifurcations in patients with similar anatomic and clinical preoperative features. MethodsBetween July 2007 and May 2018, 190 IBDs were implanted at two high-volume Italian vascular and endovascular centers. Among the series, preoperative propensity score matching based on preoperative anatomic and clinical factors was performed, and two homogeneous groups were created: group 1, 35 Cook ZBIS IBD implants; and group 2, 35 Gore IBE devices. Early results were analyzed in terms of technical success, death, conversion to open surgery, and occurrence of major local and systemic complications. Follow-up results were analyzed in terms of patency of the IBD, freedom from type I and type III endoleaks, aneurysm-related reintervention, and aneurysm-related death. ResultsTechnical success was achieved in all implants from both groups. Perioperative IBD-related complications and major complications occurred in one case from group 1 (P = .49). No perioperative mortality was recorded in the two groups. Mean postoperative follow-up was 46.7 months in group 1 (standard deviation, ± 36.3) and 20.8 months in group 2 (standard deviation, ± 15.9; P < .0001). None of the IBDs or target hypogastric arteries occluded during follow-up in this series. Estimated 36-month freedom from type I and type III endoleaks was 97% (standard error [SE], 0.03) in group 1 and 87% (SE, 0.09) in group 2 (P = .34; log-rank, 0.9). Estimated freedom from IBD-related reintervention was 97% (SE, 0.03) in group 1 and 93% (SE, 0.06) in group 2 (P = .81; log-rank, 0.05). The estimated rates of overall survival at 36 months from the IBD implantation were 95% (SE, 0.04) in group 1 and 88% (SE, 0.08) in group 2 (P = .03; log-rank, 4.7); freedom from aneurysm-related death was 100% in group 1 and 93% (SE, 0.06) in group 2 (P = .19; log-rank, 1.7). ConclusionsThe propensity score-matched comparison between the Cook ZBIS and Gore IBE devices showed similar, satisfying perioperative and midterm results in the experience of two high-volume Italian vascular centers.

Outcomes of an iliac branch endoprosthesis using an “up-and-over” technique for endovascular repair of failed bifurcated grafts

ObjectiveType IB endoleak after endovascular aneurysm repair may be treated by an iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE) through brachial access for internal iliac artery (IIA) stenting. The aim of this study was to evaluate outcomes of the IBE using an “up-and-over” transfemoral technique in patients with prior aortic repair compared with the standard technique in patients with de novo iliac aneurysms. MethodsWe reviewed the clinical data of patients treated for aortoiliac aneurysms using Gore IBE (W. L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz) between 2014 and 2017. The up-and-over technique was indicated in patients with type IB endoleak or common iliac aneurysms after prior aortic repair with bifurcated endografts or surgical grafts. End points were technical success, mortality, major adverse events, IIA patency, freedom from IIA branch instability (composite end point of any IIA branch-related complication leading to aneurysm rupture, death, occlusion, component separation, or reintervention to maintain branch patency or to treat a branch-related separation or endoleak), and freedom from secondary interventions or new-onset buttock claudication. ResultsThere were 53 patients (51 male; 74 ± 8 years old) treated by 62 IBEs (9 bilateral). Standard technique was used in 36 patients (43 IBEs) and up-and-over technique in 17 (19 IBEs). Three patients had contralateral IIA embolization. Total procedure time, contrast material volume, and radiation dose averaged 168 ± 98 minutes, 140 ± 50 mL, and 1096 ± 1009 mGy, with no difference between techniques. Technical success was achieved in 98% of patients. Eleven patients had extension of IIA bridging stent into the posterior branch (eight standard, three up-and-over). Four patients (8%) had major adverse events due to estimated blood loss >1000 mL in all patients. There was no 30-day mortality after a median follow-up of 7 months (interquartile range, 3-12 months). There were two IIA stent occlusions (all standard), three iliac-related type I endoleaks (one standard, two up-and-over), and four secondary interventions (three standard, one up-and-over). At 1 year, patients treated by standard or up-and-over technique had similar primary patency (94% ± 4% vs 100%; P = .38) and secondary patency (97% ± 3% vs 100%; P = .54) and freedom from IIA branch instability (90% ± 6% vs 93% ± 7%; P = .48), secondary intervention (84% ± 8% vs 90% ± 9%; P = .63), and new-onset buttock claudication (90% ± 6% vs 100%; P = .35). ConclusionsEndovascular repair using IBE was associated with high technical success, no mortality, and low rate of complications using either the standard technique for de novo aneurysms or an up-and-over technique for patients with failed bifurcated endografts or grafts. The up-and-over technique should be considered a suitable alternative to brachial access in patients who require distal extension using IBEs.

Outcomes of the GORE Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis in clinical trial and real-world registry settings

BackgroundWe report midterm outcomes with the GORE Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis (IBE; W. L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz) in the U.S. investigational device exemption (IDE) trial and comparatively assess outcomes in the IDE trial with outcomes in a real-world population of patients treated in the Gore Global Registry for Endovascular Aortic Treatment (GREAT). MethodsFrom 2013 to 2016, the IDE trial enrolled 99 patients treated with the IBE for common iliac artery (CIA) aneurysms or aortoiliac aneurysms. Bilateral IBE treatment was allowed only in the continued access phase. From 2013 to 2016, there were 92 patients treated with the IBE in the GREAT registry. Baseline characteristics, procedural variables, and reinterventions through 6 months were compared in the IDE trial and GREAT registry. Clinical and core laboratory-assessed imaging outcomes were assessed in the IDE trial through 2 years. ResultsGREAT patients were significantly older (P = .01) and of shorter height (P < .001) and lower weight (P < .001). There were also significantly more women treated in GREAT vs the IDE trial (8% vs 1%; P = .02). Thirteen GREAT patients (14%) and 4 of 35 continued access IDE patients (11%) had bilateral IBE placement (P = .70). IDE patients were more likely to be treated with percutaneous access methods (55% vs 40%; P = .04). Three IDE patients and three GREAT patients underwent 1-month reintervention, with two IDE reinterventions (2.1%) and one GREAT reintervention (1.6%) for thrombotic events. Five additional patients in each study underwent reintervention through 6 months (5% vs 5%; P = .92), all for nonthrombotic events. Internal iliac limb patency was 93.6% (95% confidence interval, 86.4%-97.1%) at 12 and 24 months in the IDE study. Subset analyses of the 10 IDE and GREAT patients with ≤6-month reintervention vs 181 intervention-free patients found that acute myocardial infarction (P = .01), nonpercutaneous access (P = .01), and surgical conduit use (P < .001) were associated with reintervention through 6 months. In the IDE trial, 3.4% and 4.1% of patients underwent reintervention at 12 months and 24 months, respectively, all for treatment of type II endoleaks. At 24 months, 8.7% of IDE patients exhibited abdominal aortic aneurysm sac expansion; 21.7% exhibited abdominal aortic aneurysm sac regression. No patients exhibited CIA aneurysm sac expansion; 45% exhibited CIA aneurysm sac regression. ConclusionsMidterm IDE outcomes and 6-month outcomes in the worldwide GREAT registry suggest that endovascular aortic aneurysm repair with concomitant CIA aneurysm repair with the IBE device is safe and effective. Thrombotic events are uncommon and are concentrated in the first month after the index procedure, and they typically can be resolved with endovascular reintervention.

Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis for treatment of bilateral common iliac artery aneurysms

ObjectiveThe Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis (IBE; W. L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz) has recently been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treatment of common iliac artery (CIA) aneurysms. Despite early excellent results in clinical trial, none of 63 patients were treated for bilateral iliac aneurysms. The goal of this study was to examine real-world experience using the Gore IBE for bilateral CIA aneurysms. MethodsA retrospective review of an international multicenter (16 U.S., 8 European) experience using the Gore IBE to treat bilateral CIA aneurysms was performed. Cases were limited to those occurring after Food and Drug Administration approval (February 2016) in the United States and after CE mark approval (November 2013) in Europe. Demographics of the patients, presentation, anatomic characteristics, and procedural details were captured. ResultsThere were 47 patients (45 men; mean age, 68 years; range, 41-84 years) treated with bilateral Gore IBEs (27 U.S., 20 European). Six patients (12.7%) were symptomatic and 12 (25.5%) patients were treated primarily for CIA aneurysm (aorta <5.0 cm). Mean CIA diameter was 40.3 mm. Four patients had aneurysmal internal iliac arteries (IIAs). Two of these were sealed proximally at the IIA aneurysm neck and two required coil embolization of IIA branches to achieve seal in the largest first-order branches. Technical success was achieved in 46 patients (97.9%). No type I or type III endoleaks were noted. There was no significant perioperative morbidity or mortality. IIA branch adjunctive stenting was required in four patients (one IIA distal dissection, three kinks). On follow-up imaging available for 40 patients (85.1%; mean, 6.5 months; range, 1-36 months), 12 type II endoleaks (30%) and no type I or type III endoleaks were detected. Two of 80 (2.5%) IIA branches imaged were occluded; one was intentionally sacrificed perioperatively. ConclusionsPreservation of bilateral IIAs in repair of bilateral CIA aneurysms can be performed safely with excellent technical success and short-term patency rates using the Gore IBE device. Limb and branch occlusions are rare, usually are due to kinking, and can almost always be treated successfully with stenting.

Preliminary Experience with the GORE® EXCLUDER® Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis for Common Iliac Aneurysm Endovascular Treatment

The aim of this study is to assess the safety and the short-term results of endovascular treatment of common iliac artery (CIA) aneurysms using the new GORE EXCLUDER iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE) device. The study is a retrospective with prospective follow-up nonrandomized, single-arm evaluation. Patients with a CIA aneurysm (diameter >30mm) extending to the iliac bifurcation underwent endovascular treatment with the Gore IBE. Anatomic and procedural data were collected. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) was performed within the 30days afterthe procedure and every 6month. Thirty-day and at least 6-months outcomes were investigated. From February 2014 to December 2014, 10 male patients with aneurysmal CIA (mean age 75years old) underwent consecutive endovascular treatment with the Gore IBE. The CIA aneurysm (mean diameter 43.2mm, range 32-49) treated with the Gore IBE was associated with an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in 5 patients. One patient had a previous AAA open repair. CIA aneurysm was bilateral in 5 patients. Preliminary procedure of internal iliac artery embolization was performed in 3 patients. Technical success rate of the Gore IBE implantation was 100% with a median fluoroscopy time of 35min (range 12-64, ±16) and median contrast load of 150mL (range 100-250, ±45). No perioperative complications were observed. Median length of stay was 4days (range 3-7, ±2). One aortic type Ia endoleak was observed on the postoperative CT scan requiring an aortic extension at day 3. Branch patency was observed in all 10 patients at 1month and 9 patients at 6month. All CIA aneurysms were excluded without type Ib or type III endoleak. The technical success and short-term results demonstrate encouraging results and clinical benefits of the new GORE EXCLUDER IBE. A longer follow-up is needed to assess midterm and long-term results.
