Silk Fibroin Microneedles Loaded with Lipopolysaccharide-Pretreated Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cell-Derived Exosomes for Oral Ulcer Treatment.

Oral ulcers, superficial lesions on the surface of the oral mucosa, have a high incidence rate, and their main symptoms include local pain and erosion. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-preconditioned bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and their secreted exosomes (LPS-pre-Exos) have been shown to promote recovery in various inflammatory conditions and wounds. However, studies documenting LPS-pre-Exos as a therapeutic intervention for oral mucosal-like diseases are lacking. In this study, we prepared a silk fibroin microneedle (MN) patch consisting of LPS-pre-Exos and zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) that localized at the tip and base, respectively, and used this MN patch for oral ulcer treatment. Upon insertion into the oral mucosa, continuous LPS-pre-Exos release was observed, which promoted macrophage polarization and tissue healing. Additionally, the ZIF-8 framework in the MN patch facilitated the controlled release of Zn2+, which demonstrated potent antimicrobial properties via synergistic effects. The in vitro experimental results showed that the silk fibroin MN patch can continuously release LPS-pre-Exos and Zn2+ for more than 7 days. Thus, the LPS-pre-Exos and ZIF-8-loaded silk fibroin MN patch exhibited good anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, promoting oral ulcer healing, and showed good histocompatibility. Hence, it may represent a potentially valuable strategy for facilitating oral ulcer healing.

Pharmacological effects of bioactive agents in earthworm extract: A comprehensive review.

This review compiles information from the literature on the chemical composition, pharmacological effects, and molecular mechanisms of earthworm extract (EE) and suggests possibilities for clinical translation of EE. We also consider future trends and concerns in this domain. We summarize the bioactive components of EE, including G-90, lysenin, lumbrokinase, antimicrobial peptides, earthworm serine protease (ESP), and polyphenols, and detail the antitumor, antithrombotic, antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant, wound-healing, antifibrotic, and hypoglycemic activities and mechanisms of action of EE based on existing invitro and invivo studies. We further propose the potential of EE for clinical translation in anticancer and lipid-modifying therapies, and its promise as source of a novel agent for wound healing and resistance to antibiotic tolerance. The earthworm enzyme lumbrokinase embodies highly effective anticoagulant and thrombolytic properties and has the advantage of not causing bleeding phenomena due to hyperfibrinolysis. Its antifibrotic properties can reduce the excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix. The glycolipoprotein extract G-90 can effectively scavenge reactive oxygen groups and protect cellular tissues from oxidative damage. Earthworms have evolved a well-developed defense mechanism to fight against microbial infections, and the bioactive agents in EE have shown good antibacterial, fungal, and viral properties in invitro and invivo experiments and can alleviate inflammatory responses caused by infections, effectively reducing pain. Recent studies have also highlighted the role of EE in lowering blood glucose. EE shows high medicinal value and is expected to be a source of many bioactive compounds.

Iron/Molybdenum Sulfide Nanozyme Cocatalytic Fenton Reaction for Photothermal/Chemodynamic Efficient Wound Healing.

The issue of bacterial infectious diseases remains a significant concern worldwide, particularly due to the misuse of antibiotics, which has caused the emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains. Fortunately, the rapid development of nanomaterials has propelled significant progress in antimicrobial therapy, offering promising solutions. Among them, the utilization of nanoenzyme-based chemodynamic therapy (CDT) has become a highly hopeful approach to combating bacterial infectious diseases. Nevertheless, the application of CDT appears to be facing certain constraints for its low efficiency in the Fenton reaction at the infected site. In this study, we have successfully synthesized a versatile nanozyme, which was a composite of molybdenum sulfide (MoS2) and iron sulfide (FeS2), through the hydrothermal method. The results showed that iron/molybdenum sulfide nanozymes (Fe/Mo SNZs) with desirable peroxidase (POD) mimic activity can generate cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) by successfully triggering the Fenton reaction. The presence of MoS2 significantly accelerates the conversion of Fe2+/Fe3+ through a cocatalytic reaction that involves the participation of redox pairs of Mo4+/Mo6+, thereby enhancing the efficiency of CDT. Additionally, based on the excellent photothermal performance of Fe/Mo SNZs, a near-infrared (NIR) laser was used to induce localized temperature elevation for photothermal therapy (PTT) and enhance the POD-like nanoenzymatic activity. Notably, both in vitro and in vivo results demonstrated that Fe/Mo SNZs with good broad-spectrum antibacterial properties can help eradicate Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli and Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus. The most exciting thing is that the synergistic PTT/CDT exhibited astonishing antibacterial ability and can achieve complete elimination of bacteria, which promoted wound healing after infection. Overall, this study presents a synergistic PTT/CDT strategy to address antibiotic resistance, providing avenues and directions for enhancing the efficacy of wound healing treatments and offering promising prospects for further clinical use in the near future.

BDNF-loaded chitosan-based mimetic mussel polymer conduits for repair of peripheral nerve injury.

Care for patients with peripheral nerve injury is multifaceted, as traditional methods are not devoid of limitations. Although the utilization of neural conduits shows promise as a therapeutic modality for peripheral nerve injury, its efficacy as a standalone intervention is limited. Hence, there is a pressing need to investigate a composite multifunctional neural conduit as an alternative treatment for peripheral nerve injury. In this study, a BDNF-loaded chitosan-based mimetic mussel polymer conduit was prepared. Its unique adhesion characteristics allow it to be suture-free, improve the microenvironment of the injury site, and have good antibacterial properties. Researchers utilized a rat sciatic nerve injury model to evaluate the progression of nerve regeneration at the 12-week postoperative stage. The findings of this study indicate that the chitosan-based mimetic mussel polymer conduit loaded with BDNF had a substantial positive effect on myelination and axon outgrowth. The observed impact demonstrated a favorable outcome in terms of sciatic nerve regeneration and subsequent functional restoration in rats with a 15-mm gap. Hence, this approach is promising for nerve tissue regeneration during peripheral nerve injury.

Photothermal responsive porous hollow microneedles as Chinese medicine versatile delivery system for wound healing

AbstractChinese medicine is identified as a candidate for wound healing. Attempts in this field tend to develop efficient dosage forms for delivering Chinese medicine with low side effects. In this paper, we proposed novel photothermal responsive porous hollow microneedles (PRPH‐MNs) as a versatile Chinese medicine delivery system for efficient antibacterial wound treatment. The PRPH‐MNs are composed of porous resin shells with good mechanical property, hydrogel cores, and a photothermal graphene oxide hybrid substrate. The hollow structure provides sufficient space for loading the drug dispersed hydrogel, while the porous resin shells could not only block the direct contact between drugs and wound sites but also provide channels for facilitating the drug release from the core. In addition, benefiting from the photothermal effect of their substrate, the PRPH‐MNs could be heated under near‐infrared (NIR) irradiation for controllable promotion of drug release. Based on these features, we have proved that the antibacterial Chinese medicine Rhein loaded PRPH‐MNs were effective in promoting wound healing due to their good antibacterial property and on‐demand drug release. Thus, we believe that the proposed PRPH‐MNs are valuable for delivery of different drugs for clinical applications.

Photocrosslinked carboxymethylcellulose-based hydrogels: Synthesis, characterization for curcumin delivery and wound healing

Skin could protect our body and regenerate itself to against dysfunctional and disfiguring scars when faced with external injury. As wound dressings, hydrogels are biocompatible, hydrophilic and have a 3D structure similar to the extracellular matrix (ECM). In particular, hydrogels with drug-releasing capabilities are in acute wound healing. In this paper, photocrosslinked hydrogels served as wound dressing based on sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) were prepared to promote wound healing. Photocrosslinked hydrogels were prepared by grafting lysine and allyl glycidyl ether (AGE) onto CMC and encapsulating curcumin (Cur). The synthesized hydrogels had the unique 3D porous structure with a swelling ratio up to 1300 % in aqueous solution. The drug release ratios of the hydrogels were 20.8 % in acid environment, and 14.4 % in alkaline environment. Notably, the hydrogels showed good biocompatibility and antibacterial properties and also exhibited the ability to accelerate the process of skin wound healing while prevent inflammation and scar formation when applied to a mouse skin wound model. As a result, the prepared hydrogels Gel-CLA@Cur showed great potential in wound healing.

Zwitterion-Modified MXene Quantum Dot as a Nanocarrier for Traditional Chinese Medicine Sanguinarine Delivery and Its Application for Photothermal-Chemotherapy Synergistic Antibacterial and Wound Healing.

The nanomaterialization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has aroused widespread interest among researchers. Sanguinarine (SAN) is a kind of TCM with good antibacterial properties, which has important applications in anti-infection of wounds. Additionally, the combination of photothermal therapy and chemotherapy can overcome bacterial resistance, further improving bactericidal and wound healing efficiency. In this paper, we prepared an antibacterial agent by loading SAN on the zwitterion-modified MXene quantum dot nanocarrier (SAN@AHEP@Ta4C3), realizing pH/NIR controlled drug release and photothermal/chemotherapy synergistic antibacterial and wound healing. The particle size of SAN@AHEP@Ta4C3 is about 120 nm, and it has a good water solubility and stability. In addition, it also has excellent photothermal conversion performance (η = 39.2%), which can effectively convert light energy into heat energy under near-infrared (NIR) laser irradiation, further promoting drug release and achieving bactericidal effects by synergistic chemotherapy and photothermal therapy. The in vitro and in vivo experiments show that SAN@AHEP@Ta4C3 exhibits an excellent antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and it can effectively promote the wound healing of mice. Moreover, the SAN@AHEP@Ta4C3 also has good biocompatibility and has no side effects on normal tissue and organs. This work introduces a multifunctional antibacterial agent based on TCM and hot-spot material MXene, which will have considerable application prospects in biomedical fields.

Research on Formulation and Evaluation of Antibacterial Herbal Mouthwash

The objective of present work is to formulate and evaluate herbal mouthwash and to evaluate its effectiveness against microbial load of oral cavity. The plant materials were collected and extracted for water soluble ingredients. Prepared mouthwash was further evaluated for its physicochemical properties and antimicrobial activity. The present mouthwash possesses a good antibacterial property. The results of stability study also confirm the effectiveness of preparation. Present mouthwash is a liquid preparation which normally contains antibacterial and antiseptic agents. Commercially available mouthwash formulations are often medicated and contain chemicals that may elicit adverse effects to the users. A mouthwash may be recommended for its efficacy in preventing dental caries other oral conditions due to its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties

Environmental Dyeing and Functionalization of Silk Fabrics with Natural Dye Extracted from Lac.

Most traditional synthetic dyes and functional reagents used in silk fabrics are not biodegradable and lack green environmental protection. Natural dyes have attracted more and more attention because of their coloring, functionalization effects, and environmental benefits. In this study, natural dyes were extracted from lac and used for coloring and functionalization in silk fabrics without any other harmful dyes. The extraction conditions were studied and analyzed by the univariate method. The optimal extraction process was that the volume ratio of ethanol to water was 60:40 with a solid-liquid ratio of 1:10, and reacting under the neutrality condition for 1 h at 70 °C. Silk fabric can be dyed dark owing to the certain lifting property of lac. After being dyed by Al3+ post-medium, the levels of the washing fastness, light fastness, and friction fastness of silk fabric are all above four with excellent fastness. The results show that the dyed silk fabrics have good UV protection, antioxidation, and antibacterial properties. The UV protection coefficient UPF is 42.68, the antioxidant property is 98.57%, and the antibacterial property can reach more than 80%. Therefore, the dyeing and functionalization of silk fabrics by utilizing naturally lac dyes show broad prospects in terms of the application of green sustainable dyeing and functionalization.

Fabrication of antibacterial bone scaffold based on carbonate-substituted hydroxyapatite containing magnesium from black sea urchin (Arbacia lixula) shells reinforced with polyvinyl alcohol and gelatin

Carbonate-substituted hydroxyapatite containing magnesium (Mg–C-HAp) was introduced through dissolution-precipitation treatment of hydroxyapatite containing magnesium (Mg-HAp) based on a black sea urchin (arbacia lixula) shells as novel biogenic materials. Based on chemical composition analysis, the Mg–C-HAp formed A- and B-type CHAp, which contained high carbonate ions. The Ca/P ratio of Mg–C-HAp was 1.707, very close to the biological bone apatite of 1.71. The Mg content in Mg–C-HAp was also relatively high, with the Mg/(Ca + Mg) ratio of 0.139, which is beneficial for antibacterial agents. The morphology of Mg–C-HAp showed particles with nanosize that provide a large surface area of ion promotion. The antibacterial test revealed that the Mg–C-HAp performed high antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The Mg–C-HAp-based porous scaffolds were then fabricated using the freeze-drying method with variations of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and gelatin fraction. According to the physicochemical analysis, the addition of PVA and gelatin in the scaffold structure decreased the crystallinity of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold. This lower crystallinity indicates high biodegradability, which is good for new bone growth. The macropores of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold were appropriate for new bone and blood vessel formation. The micropores of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold can be a medium for cells to grow. The microporosity of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold was also suitable for cell nutrient promotion. The compressive strength of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold was sufficient for bone regeneration. The Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold demonstrated high antibacterial activity against P. aeruginosa, so the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold can maintain the role of Mg and carbonate content for antibacterial purposes. The good physicochemical, mechanical, and antibacterial properties of the Mg–C-HAp/PVA/Gel scaffold represented its suitable characteristics for antibacterial bone scaffolds.

Borate bonds-containing pH-responsive chitosan hydrogel for postoperative tumor recurrence and wound infection prevention

Chitosan has been widely used in biomedical fields due to its good antibacterial properties, excellent biocompatibility, and biodegradability. In this study, a pH-responsive and self-healing hydrogel was synthesized from 3-carboxyphenylboronic acid grafted with chitosan (CS-BA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The dynamic boronic ester bonds and intermolecular hydrogen bonds are responsible for the hydrogel formation. By changing the mass ratio of CS-BA and PVA, the tensile stress and compressive stress of hydrogel can controlled in the range of 0.61 kPa - 0.74 kPa and 295.28 kPa - 1108.1 kPa, respectively. After doping with tannic acid (TA)/iron nanocomplex (TAFe), the hydrogel successful killed tumor cells through the near infrared laser-induced photothermal conversion and the TAFe-triggered reactive oxygen species generation. Moreover, the photothermal conversion of the hydrogel and the antibacterial effect of CS and TA give the hydrogel a good antibacterial effect. The CS-BA/PVA/TAFe hydrogel exhibit good in vivo and in vitro anti-tumor recurrence and antibacterial ability, and therefore has the potential to be used as a powerful tool for the prevention of local tumor recurrence and bacterial infection after surgery.

Continuous preparation and antibacterial mechanisms of biodegradable polylactic acid/nano-zinc oxide/additives antibacterial non-wovens

Biodegradable polylactic acid (PLA)/nano‑zinc oxide (ZnO)/additives non-woven slices were prepared by melt blending method. The effects of antibacterial agent nano-ZnO, antioxidant pentaerythrityl tetrakis-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-propionate (1010), and chain extender multi-functional epoxy (ADR), on the melt flow rate, mechanical properties, thermal stabilities and micromorphology of the slices were investigated. The melt flow rate decreased from 26.94 g/10 min to 17.76 g/10 min, and the tensile strength increased from 10.518 MPa to 30.427 MPa with the increase of nano-ZnO and additives content. The slices were further spunbonded. The wettability and antibacterial properties of PLA/nano-ZnO/additives antibacterial non-wovens were studied, and the antibacterial action mechanism was clarified. The results showed that the biodegradable PLA/nano-ZnO/additives antibacterial non-wovens were prepared continuously successfully. The prepared non-woven fabrics exhibited good hydrophobicity and antibacterial properties. The mechanism study shows that zinc ion produced by nano-ZnO and photocatalytic reaction make the fabrics have good antibacterial activity at low nano-ZnO content. When nano-ZnO concentration reaches 1.5 wt%, the antibacterial rate against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus reaches 98.52 % and 98.13 %, respectively.

Antibacterial properties of synthesized Melaleuca cajuputi-leaf gold nanoparticles

Biosynthesized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were successfully synthesized by using Melaleuca cajuputi leaf extract, and their prospective antibacterial efficacy was assessed against Vibrio parahaemolyticus. TEM analysis revealed biosynthesized M. cajuputi gold nanoparticles (MC-AuNPs) were spherical in shape with a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band observed at 535 nm and particle sizes ranging from 10–50 nm. The MC-AuNPs showed good antibacterial properties against V. parahaemolyticus with MIC and MBC values of 0.0075 g/mL.

Unlocking the Potential of Trans-Himalayan High-Altitude Seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) Plants in the Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Against Drug-Resistant Foodborne Pathogens: A Step Towards Sustainable Food Safety Goals

Controlling foodborne pathogens is challenging due to the new emergence of antimicrobial resistance to conventional antimicrobials. Therefore, new alternative antimicrobials need to be developed to control foodborne pathogens and avoid microbial resistance. Furthermore, the potential of trans-Himalayan high-altitude seabuckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides ) plants has not been explored much for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles having antibacterial properties. Hence, this study investigated the development of long-term stable silver nanomaterials using the aqueous extract of seabuckthorn leaves through a green-synthesis approach and evaluated their antibacterial efficacy. These synthesized nanomaterials were characterized along with their stability using UV spectrometry for lambda max ([Formula: see text]) characteristics. Further, the nanoparticles were evaluated for zeta potential (mV), polydispersity index, particle size distribution (nm), electrophoretic mobility ([Formula: see text]mcm/Vs) and conductivity (mS/cm). The seabuckthorn silver nanoparticles are of 260[Formula: see text]nm size and stable (−15[Formula: see text]mV zeta potential) with good antioxidant and antibacterial properties against two typical food pathogens, e.g., Escherichia coli (MTCC 3222) and Salmonella typhimurium (MTCC 3224). Hence, this study developed an eco-friendly, rapid, low-cost green synthesis method for the development of seabuckthorn-coated, stable silver nanoparticles with good antibacterial activity against foodborne pathogens.

Synthesis, Structure and Antibacterial Activity of Two Novel Coordination Polymers Based on N,N'-bis(4-carbozvlbenzvl)-4-aminotoluene and Heterocyclic Ligand against S. aureus.

As the use of antibiotics increases, the increasing resistance of bacteria is the main reason for the reduced efficiency of antibacterial drugs, making the research of new antibacterial materials become new hot spot. In this article, two novel coordination polymers (CPs), namely, [Cd2(L)2(bibp)2]n (1) and [Ni(L)(bib)]n (2), where H2L = N,N'-bis(4-carbozvlbenzvl)-4-aminotoluene, bibp = 4,4'-bis(imidazol-1-yl)biphenyl, and bib = 1,3-bis(1-imidazoly)benzene, have been synthesized under solvothermal and hydrothermal condition. Structural clarification was performed through infrared spectrum and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, while thermal analysis and XRD technology were used for the performance assessment of compounds 1 and 2. In addition, antibacterial performance experiments showed that compounds 1 and 2 have certain selectivity in their antibacterial properties and have good antibacterial properties against S. aureus. As the concentration of the compound increases, the inhibitory effect gradually strengthens, and when the concentration of the compound reaches 500 μg/mL and 400 μg/mL, the concentration of the S. aureus solution no longer increases and has been completely inhibited.

The Effectiveness Mechanisms of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) as Reinforcements for Magnesium-Based Composites for Biomedical Applications: A Review.

As a smart implant, magnesium (Mg) is highly biocompatible and non-toxic. In addition, the elastic modulus of Mg relative to other biodegradable metals (iron and zinc) is close to the elastic modulus of natural bone, making Mg an attractive alternative to hard tissues. However, high corrosion rates and low strength under load relative to bone are some challenges for the widespread use of Mg in orthopedics. Composite fabrication has proven to be an excellent way to improve the mechanical performance and corrosion control of Mg. As a result, their composites emerge as an innovative biodegradable material. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have superb properties like low density, high tensile strength, high strength-to-volume ratio, high thermal conductivity, and relatively good antibacterial properties. Therefore, using CNTs as reinforcements for the Mg matrix has been proposed as an essential option. However, the lack of understanding of the mechanisms of effectiveness in mechanical, corrosion, antibacterial, and cellular fields through the presence of CNTs as Mg matrix reinforcements is a challenge for their application. This review focuses on recent findings on Mg/CNT composites fabricated for biological applications. The literature mentions effective mechanisms for mechanical, corrosion, antimicrobial, and cellular domains with the presence of CNTs as reinforcements for Mg-based nanobiocomposites.

Preparation and good antibacterial properties of self-assembled P(AA-AM)/CA/GA fiber membrane by electrospinning

To reduce mortality rate caused by life-threatening bacterial infections, advanced antibacterial materials have attracted widespread attention from researchers worldwide. In this study, the antibacterial P(AA-AM)/CA/GA nanofiber membranes with pH-responsive properties were successfully prepared by facile electrospinning technology. A series of characterizations of the obtained nanofiber membranes showed the addition of P(AA-AM) improves the surface wettability of the as-spun fibers in comparison to those of CA and CA/GA nanofiber membranes. High-temperature treatment was found to enhance the mechanical properties of the P(AA-AM)/CA/GA membranes due to the crosslinking reactions. The prepared P(AA-AM)/CA/GA nanofiber membrane exhibits a pH-responsive effect which is evident by the change in GA’s release rate in solutions with different pH values. The cellulose acetate (CA) spinning nanofiber structure formed by P(AA-AM) coated GA also extended the release process of GA and improved the antibacterial timeliness of nanofiber membranes. The antibacterial experiments on E. coli and S. aureus showed that the electrospun nanofiber membranes containing GA had potent antibacterial properties, which were further enhanced by increasing the GA content in the P(AA-AM)/CA/GA blends. This study provides an insight into the design and preparation of pH-sensitive antibacterial materials using facile electrospinning technology.

In Situ Fabrication of Silver Nanoparticle-Decorated Polymeric Vesicles for Antibacterial Applications.

Silver/polymeric vesicle composite nanoparticles with good antibacterial properties were fabricated in this study. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared in situ on cross-linked vesicle membranes through the reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) using polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) via coordination bonding between the Ag+ ions and the nitrogen atoms on the vesicles. X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses confirmed the formation of AgNPs on the vesicles. The antibacterial test demonstrated good antibacterial activity against both Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) and Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) for the produced AgNP-decorated vesicles. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of the AgNP-decorated vesicles for E. coli and S. aureus were 8.4 and 9.6 μg/mL, respectively. Cell viability analysis on the A549 cells indicated that the toxicity was low when the AgNP concentrations did not exceed the MIC values, and the wound healing test confirmed the good antibacterial properties of the AgNP-decorated vesicles.

To better treat bacteria-infected wounds and promote healing, new wound dressings must be developed. In this study, we obtained PA@Fe by chelating iron trivalent ions (Fe3+) with protocatechualdehyde (PA), which has a catechol structure. Subsequently, we reacted it with ethylene glycol chitosan (GC) via a Schiff base reaction and loaded vancomycin to obtain an antibacterial Gel@Van hydrogel with a photothermal response. The as-prepared Gel@Van hydrogel exhibited good injectability, self-healing, hemostasis, photothermal stability, biocompatibility, and antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Moreover, Gel@Van hydrogel achieved highly synergistic antibacterial efficacy through photothermal and antibiotic sterilization. In a mouse skin-damaged infection model, Gel@Van hydrogel had a strong ability to promote the healing of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)-infected wounds, indicating the great potential application value of Gel@Van hydrogel in the field of treating and promoting the healing of infected wounds.
