In the present work wear behavior of glass fiber epoxy composite (GFEC) was studied under the different operating parameters like load (1, 2, 3 and 4 Kg), speed (500, 750, 1000 and 1250 rpm), sliding distance (1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 meter) and temperature (30°, 60°, 90° and 120° C). To minimize the experimental time and cost Taguchi L16 orthogonal array was used. The adhesive wear behavior of composite was examined on a pin on disc machine as per ASTM G99 standard. The wear test results reveal that the load is the most influenced parameter followed by the temperature, while the speed and sliding distance have a minor effect on the wear behavior. The worn surfaces were observed using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) for 60°C, 90°C and 120°C temperature. It has been observed from the SEM that increases in the temperature lead to the wear debris and further micro cracks in the specimen that leads to the high wear of the composites.
