In the present paper, we suggest a hybrid system for the determination of a possible kinematics chain of multi-brooches gearboxes which are used in drilling and threading operations of a big series of workpieces (driving blocks, gearboxes cases, etc). The system is based firstly on the representation of the multi-brooches gearbox components and assembly according to an object oriented language. Secondly and according to the different relationships between objects and to a knowledge-base in form of IF-THEN rules, the system try to construct and determine automatically a kinematics chains of the desired multibrooches gearbox.
