SANKSI HUKUM TERHADAP PELAKU GAME ONLINE DITINJAU DARI HUKUM ISLAM DAN HUKUM NASIONAL

This paper aims to analyze legal sanctions for online game players, especially domino or scatter online games. Every act of gambling is prohibited by laws and regulations, as stipulated in Article 303 of the Criminal Code. The reasons for playing games are very diverse, some are to fill the void of time but can be haram (not allowed), if there is an element of betting (gambling). This research is a normative-juridical legal research, so to answer this question the author digs from literature and electronic media that discusses the intricacies of domino or scatter games, then analyzes from the point of view of Islamic law, about the elements why legal sanski does not run officially. The results of this study show that legal sanctions for online gambling players can be sentenced to imprisonment for 10 years (Article 30 of the Criminal Code). While Article 303 BIS regulates unlicensed gambling. "Any person who without permission holds or gives the opportunity to play gambling. A maximum prison sentence of 4 years or a maximum fine of Rp 10 million". Meanwhile, Law No. 7 of 1974 concerning the Regulation of Gambling affirms the prohibition of all forms of gambling and strengthens penalties for violations. Strengthen existing sanctions in the Criminal Code, including the possibility of additional penalties in accordance with the enforcement policy. While Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) explains that Article 27 Paragraph (2) concerning the prohibition of distribution of electronic information containing gambling content. "Any person intentionally and without rights distributes and/or transmits and/or makes accessible Electronic Information that has gambling content. A maximum prison sentence of 6 years and/or a maximum fine of IDR 1 billion". While QS. Al-Baqarah Verse 219 and QS. Al-Maidah Verse 90 explains that the act of scatter type online games is strictly forbidden, because there are elements of ta'jir or maisir. It can be concluded that the legal sanctions made by the Government do not run according to the procedure, meaning that they have not had a deterrent impact on online gambling actors.

Psychological Predictors of Long-term Esports Success: A Registered Report

The competitive play of digital games, esports, has attracted worldwide attention of hundreds of millions of young people. Although esports players are known to practice in similar ways to other athletes, it remains largely unknown what factors contribute to high performance and to what degree. In the present confirmatory study, our goal was to test whether deliberate practice theory, which has successfully been applied to other sports earlier, can predict high esports performance with other psychologically relevant variables. The study was carried out with participants from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (N = 186) and League of Legends (N = 411). In both esports, we found evidence for deliberate practice not having a meaningful effect on performance (null: r > .3 in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and r > .2 in League of Legends, observed: .02 in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and -.01 in League of Legends). On the other hand, the results confirmed younger age predicting better performance (-.33 and -.22, respectively). Additionally, we were able to confirm two game-specific findings: attention (-.30, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) and non-deliberate practice hours (.26, League of Legends) meaningfully predicted performance in one but not both esports. The effects of all other variables—including intelligence, reaction time, and persistence—were confirmed to be null or inconclusive in both esports. We discuss the results against game design and hypothesize esports-specific information density as a potential explanation to differences in performance prediction. The findings can be useful for esports teams, coaches, and all individuals pursuing success in esports.

The Effect of Sleep on the Health and Dietary Behaviours of GAA Athletes.

Decreased sleep quality and duration is associated with an array of negative health outcomes. Evidence suggests athletes are susceptible to sleep inadequacies that may in turn affect their health and dietary behaviours. This study aimed to explore the sleep profile of both male and female Gaelic games players, at an elite and sub-elite level and compare how poor sleep relates to subjective health complaints and food cravings. One hundred and seventy Gaelic games players completed the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Subjective Health Complaints Inventory (SHC) and Food Cravings Questionnaire-Trait-Reduced (FCQ-T-r). Participants were categorised into two groups: poor sleepers (PSQI ≥ 5) and good sleepers (PSQI < 5). Outcome measures of health and food cravings were analysed across the groups, Mann-Whitney U tests were used to assess differences, and Spearman's rank-order correlations were used to determine relationships between variables. Sixty-seven % of athletes were categorised as poor sleepers. There were no significant differences in PSQI scores across genders (p = 0.088) or playing level (p = 0.072). Poor sleepers experienced significantly increased SHC (p < 0.001) and female athletes had significantly more SHC compared to males (p < 0.001). Female athletes experienced more food cravings than males (p = 0.013). However, there were no significant differences in food cravings between good and poor sleepers (p = 0.104). The findings suggest a high prevalence of poor sleepers amongst GAA athletes. Furthermore, a significant relationship exists between poor sleep and health complaints with females at a higher risk of worsened health complaints and higher food cravings. Sleep screening and education interventions to enhance sleep in GAA athletes are advocated.

Application of Additive Manufacturing in the Automobile Industry: A Mini Review

The automobile industry is recognized as one of the most influential sectors shaping global economies, societies, and individual lifestyles. Therefore, fierce competition among different companies is continuously undergoing, and special attention is focused on innovations to improve competitiveness. In the past several years, additive manufacturing (AM) has emerged as an innovative technology in applications in the automobile industry with significant advantages over traditional techniques. As a result, increasing efforts have been paid to combining AM technology with the development of the automobile industry. Currently, many automobile players are optimizing their industrial layout by incorporating innovative AM techniques, and meanwhile, a lot of research progress has been achieved in order to meet the market demand. This article aims at presenting a timely review to conclude the recent advances in the application of AM techniques in the automobile industry, focusing on the available AM techniques, printable materials, and industry applications, based on which the advantages and disadvantages of each technique and material system are discussed in order to reveal the current application situation. The current research gaps and challenges are also outlined to indicate future research opportunities. Hopefully, this work can be useful to related researchers as well as game players in the industry of this field.

Comparing locomotor intensity indicators in soccer training and competition across contextual factors: a study of replaced coaches in a Portuguese professional 1st league team

This study aims to examine, for each head coach (HC) replaced, the association between training intensity and physical performances obtained in games. Furthermore, the study investigated how contextual factors influence locomotor and mechanical performance association. External load variables were collected using Global Positioning System (GPS) devices across the 4 weeks and 4 games before and after the replacement in a professional adult male soccer team. Six different HC records were analysed (48.8 ± 7.4 years of age; 11.2 ± 3.9 years as an HC) during a three-season span (2020/21–2022/2023). There were marked differences within player variability across the two coaching regimes. Game loads didn't reflect training-related performance, with differences ranging from −71.4% to −9.9%. Players under the outgoing coaches have greater coverage of meters per minute. Meters per minute, distance covered over 18 km/h and high-speed running (all in training) are found to be significant variables influenced by contextual factors. Within-subject and time, training loads did not reflect game-related loads/performances, with starters showing higher deficits (ranging from −79.0 to −14.5). The study suggests that changes in soccer HC can affect players' training intensity and game performance, influenced by various contextual factors and not directly correlated. This type of information might be very suitable to improve training load periodization and programming. For further research avenues, could be the study of the variation of the psychological states of the players at the time of the dismissal and hiring of the HCs, associating them with the physiological performance at the same moments.

Games With Safety Training Purposes in the Industry: Game Design Method and Its Demonstration

Work accidents are a concern for the industry as they can generate human, material, and economic losses. One way to mitigate them is to conduct efficient safety training, but they cannot always arouse the necessary interest and engagement of those trained. Games with a purpose are tools widely used for training in different contexts. They are identified as innovative, immersive, and attractive approaches, but they are complex to develop. This article presents SafetyPlay Game Design (SpGD), a structured method for designing safety training games with well-defined steps that support translating training elements into an immersive and playful game environment. Since we seek to build an artifact as an intervention to a problem in a real context, we based the research methodology on Action Research to conduct the investigations. Therefore, the intervention in the context of security training continued with creating and demonstrating the SpGD method based on the construction of a digital game for training. In this way, the evaluation undertaken in this research considered two moments: i) the ability of SpGD to develop the game, considering when we evaluated it by volunteers regarding game experience and perception of safety training, and ii) the validated method through interviews with game designers, experts in designing training games. The results point to evidence that the SpGD method supported the design of a game that allowed a positive gaming experience considered by game designers to be viable and useful for this purpose, in addition to allowing people to learn training concepts and risks. Therefore, this research contributes to the game design field and the industry, providing opportunities for creating interactive training that can complement traditional security training.

GeoShapley: A Game Theory Approach to Measuring Spatial Effects in Machine Learning Models

This article introduces GeoShapley, a game theory approach to measuring spatial effects in machine learning models. GeoShapley extends the Nobel Prize–winning Shapley value framework in game theory by conceptualizing location as a player in a model prediction game, which enables the quantification of the importance of location and the synergies between location and other features in a model. GeoShapley is a model-agnostic approach and can be applied to statistical or black-box machine learning models in various structures. The interpretation of GeoShapley is directly linked with spatially varying coefficient models for explaining spatial effects and additive models for explaining non-spatial effects. Using simulated data, GeoShapley values are validated against known data-generating processes and are used for cross-comparison of seven statistical and machine learning models. An empirical example of house price modeling is used to illustrate GeoShapley’s utility and interpretation with real-world data. The method is available as an open source Python package named geoshapley.

An assessment measurement study based on the momentum of the tennis ball in question

In tennis, it is very important to always be aware of the movement and trend of the match. Accurately grasping the change of momentum is of great practical significance in predicting the future fluctuation of the match. Based on the relevant match data provided by Wimbledon, three models are constructed in this paper. Model one is a win-loss probability model based on binomial distribution, which deflates the impact of each small game win on the whole game, and accurately calculates the overall win rate of current players by judging the difference in players' level as well as the number of games won and lost. Model 2 is a momentum calculation model, which accurately describes the player's game status by analyzing the number of consecutive scores, score gap, number of key balls, and number of errors in a multi-dimensional analysis, and then accumulating and calculating the momentum data. Model 3 is a match fluctuation prediction model constructed based on Gradient Boosting Tree, which is utilized to predict match fluctuations by comparing predicted fluctuations with actual fluctuations on the test set in the tournament. And it evaluates which factor is the most important in predicting the future trend.

Negative Emotional Value of Players: Exploring the Time Investment Dimension from Chinese Mobile Game Players’ Reviews

This study delved into the concept of “time investment” by examining negative comments from players. It conducted a comprehensive analysis of how time investment and external motivation influence players’ emotional experiences, drawing from self-determination theory (SDT). Nonetheless, there has been limited exploration of the origins and significance of players’ negative emotions. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. Initially, it constructed a radar chart representing time investment by analyzing textual reviews from Chinese players across six distinct mobile game types and creating thematic models with BERTopic. Subsequently, the initial machine learning results were confirmed through a questionnaire survey (n = 1028), resulting in the identification of five primary time investment dimensions: in-game experience time investment, learning time investment, social time investment, emotional time investment, and economic time investment. The study unveils the impact of external motivation on players’ emotions and assessments, all from the viewpoint of players. It also offers an expanded perspective within SDT for the exploration of external motivation. The findings present a fresh theoretical outlook and research framework for game designers and the human–computer interaction (HCI) field. Additionally, they offer new insights into the concept of time as perceived by players.

Using Genshin Impact as an Example, Examining How Local Cultural Embedding Can Enhance the Player's Gaming Experience

This research examines how the Genshin game developers organically incorporate culture into their games and improve player experience. Using quantitative methods, researchers analyzed 3 interviews with Genshin users to explore their attitudes and feelings towards the integration of Chinese cultural characteristics into the games. Through this game, many Chinese players have developed a sense of cultural pride, and the developers are very good at the details of the game. This game also spreads Chinese culture to the world. In many foreign websites, such as YouTube, Twitter can see a lot of foreign players comments and suggestions to these games. Also, the age coverage of this game is very wide too. From middle-aged people to high school students, all show a strong interest in this game. Researchers intend to study what kind of indigenous Chinese culture is embedded in this game and to understand how indigenous Chinese culture is organically embedded in the game by comparing game screenshots with real-life photos. Next, it is also necessary to check what kind of attitude players hold towards the embedding of Chinese indigenous culture appearing in Genshin Impact on social media platforms and select a few players to interview. Based on the former, it is important to find out how the embedding of Chinese indigenous culture in the game attracts players and improves their gaming experience. Finally, it will be generalized to the general game development, how a game can attract more players to play and improve the player experience through the organic integration of indigenous culture.

Applying the Tau technique in multi-player differential games: A novel approach in economic strategy analysis

This paper delves deeper into the intricacies of multiplayer differential games, exploring their applications in economic strategy analysis through the innovative use of the Tau technique. Our approach introduces a novel methodological framework that enhances the understanding of noncooperative games and sheds light on the complex dynamics of economic conflicts and cooperation from a fresh perspective. By leveraging the mathematical rigor of the Tau technique, we provide a detailed exploration of player interactions and strategic decision-making in economic settings. Our research reveals insights that challenge traditional interpretations and offer new avenues for economic strategy formulation. The findings of this study make a significant contribution to the field of economic strategy analysis by demonstrating the utility of the Tau technique in unraveling the complex interplay between multiple players in noncooperative games.

Hold Relax outperforms Friction in treating De Quervain Syndrome

This study compared the efficacy of Friction and Hold Relax exercises in alleviating De Quervain syndrome symptoms among smartphone game players. Utilizing a quasi-experimental pre and post-test design with 14 participants in each group, the research found that Hold Relax exercises significantly improved thumb function compared to Friction (p = 0.002). These results highlight the importance of tailored therapeutic interventions for De Quervain syndrome patients, particularly among smartphone game players, and provide valuable insights for optimizing treatment strategies in this population. Beyond subcultures: A literature review of gaming communities and sociological analysis

This article is a critical review of studies on gaming communities. In particular, it analyses the use of subcultural, post-subcultural and postmodern subcultural theorists in relation to video games players. Academic use of sociological concepts to study gaming communities, such as neo-tribe, subculture, lifestyle, and scene, is not always explained and almost all sociological instruments show limits in engaging the complex and changing phenomena of video gaming cultures. The article focuses on the misleading use of the term subculture and, therefore, analyses effective applications of post-subcultural and post-modern subcultural approaches to specific case studies. Eventually, the relation between gamers and video games cultures is analysed. In this sense, I argue that the complexity of gaming communities is difficult to be framed and I suggest the use of the Bourdieusian concept of champ.

Effects of coach-delivered verbal encouragement on the physiological and psychological responses of adolescent players in small-sided basketball games.

The confluence of physiological and psychological dynamics is fundamental to athletic performance, particularly in basketball, where physical skill and mental resilience are imperative. While the role of verbal encouragement (VE) as a catalyst for enhancing performance has been explored in various sports disciplines, its specific effects within the basketball have not been adequately examined. Addressing this gap, the current study zeroes in on the influence of coach-delivered VE on the physiological and psychological responses of adolescent basketball players engaged in small-sided games (SSG), providing a focused analysis of how directed encouragement can modulate performance and experience in young athletes. This study aimed to investigate the effects of coach-delivered verbal encouragement on the psychological and physiological responses of adolescent basketball players. Sixteen male participants (age: 16.93 ± 0.36 years; height: 176.8 ± 0.8 cm; body mass: 73.43 ± 12.57 kg; BMI: 21.70 ± 3.55) were allocated to a Verbal Encouragement Group (VEG, n = 8, mean age: 16.80 ± 0.44) and a Control Group (CG, n = 8, mean age: 17.06 ± 0.26). Each participant engaged in four sessions of small-sided games (SSGs) consisting of four players per side in a 14 × 10 m pitch. The findings revealed significant benefits of coach-delivered verbal encouragement on both the physical and psychophysiological responses of the players (p < 0.05), including increased physical enjoyment, positive mood state, lower heart rate, and higher physical activity intensity level. Coaches should incorporate verbal encouragement strategies during SSGs to enhance player performance and optimize both psychological and physiological adaptations.

Research on Stakeholder Behavior Strategy in Green PPP Project Financing

In the context of green development, while promoting green industry and sustainable development, green PPP faces the challenge of financing difficulties. Based on the evolutionary game theory of bounded rationality and taking government, social capital and financial institutions as the game players, this paper constructs an evolutionary game model for the behavioral decision-making of stakeholders in green PPP project financing. Using MATLAB software, we simulate and analyze the key factors affecting the behavioral strategies of each game player. The results indicate that: (1) The additional income obtained from participation in green PPP projects is a key factor affecting the decision-making of social capital and financial institutions, so it is necessary to improve the reasonable return mechanism of green PPP projects and attach importance to the construction of reputation mechanism; (2) Government subsidies can effectively encourage social capital and financial institutions to participate in green PPP projects, but the amount of subsidies should be within a reasonable range; (3) The government's reward and punishment intensity is a significant factor affecting the decision-making of social capital behavior. To this end, it is imperative for the government to enhance the performance evaluation system for green PPP projects and establish a balanced reward and punishment mechanism. This paper puts forward some suggestions on the decision-making of stakeholders in the financing process of green PPP projects, and provides references for the policy formulation of encouraging social capital and financial institutions to participate in green PPP projects.

Exploring the Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI-based) English Games in Enhancing English Communication Skills among Indonesian L2 Generation Z

The role of artificial intelligence (AI-based) English games in enhancing English communication skills among Indonesian Generation Z (Gen-Z) for whom English is a second language (L2), is the main focus of this study. Questionnaires to collect data consisted of both open and closed-ended questions. Seventy-eight Indonesian Gen- Z from different parts of Indonesia participated, and provides a strong representation of the country. This study is aimed to address a gap in the present literature by directly engaging with game players and examining their perspectives and experiences with actual games that they play for enjoyment rather than games designed for educational purposes. The study’s findings show that English AI-based games significantly help respondents develop their vocabulary, improve comprehension, and acquire confidence in English speaking. The findings also indicate that English AI-based game learning is favoured over traditional methods. The respondents noted gaming's immersive and interactive aspect as beneficial to language acquisition and skill development. These findings emphasise the transformative potential of English AI-based games in language learning and advocate for their integration into educational frameworks to better fulfil the needs of L2 learners, particularly Gen-Z.

Buying and selling activity of online game accounts containing virtual goods that are sold on an online marketplace

With so many online game players today, various problems arise. There are so many online game players today who carry out buying and selling activities on online game accounts containing virtual objects that are widely available in various marketplaces in Indonesia. However, in these activities, the buyer often suffers losses such as the account being hacked or re-accessed by the seller. For this reason, it is necessary to have the validity of buying and selling online game accounts containing virtual objects, and how to protect the law against the buyer who purchases an account containing virtual objects. This writing uses a normative juridical approach, namely by reviewing the provisions in the Civil Code regarding the validity of buying and selling and most importantly the Law No. 19 of 2016 regarding buying and selling in electronic systems, to then be analyzed descriptively qualitatively, namely by first providing a detailed description and analysis , systematic, and comprehensive regarding the laws and regulations, norms in various countries and legal theories which are then applied to the problems studied. The results of the study show that firstly, the activity of buying and selling online game accounts which contain virtual objects based on the Law No. 19 of 2016 is legal if the organizer does not prohibit the existence of buying and selling activities by third parties. Second, legal protection for buyers who purchase online game accounts containing virtual objects based on Article 30 of the Law No. 19 of 2016 is that the seller is prohibited from re-accessing accounts that have been sold, while based on Article 49 paragraph (3) Regulation No. 71 Of 2019 the buyer has the right to get a return of goods and money if there is a difference between the goods purchased and the goods received.

From vocation to profession: multiple identities of Chinese management academics

The academic landscape in China has undergone a profound transformation, shifting from a spiritually rooted vocation to a model driven by managerial efficiency, catalyzed by market reforms that dismantled the traditional, centrally planned system. This seismic shift has forced scholars to adapt to a performance-oriented environment, leading to significant transformations in their professional identities. Contemporary literature, primarily centered on Western role-theory perspectives, often fails to capture the intricate cognitive dynamics that shape academic identities under the varied influence of power dimensions. This study addresses this gap by exploring how Chinese academics’ identities are constructed amidst a complex interplay of power dynamics, external changes, and internal motivations, moving beyond simplistic group-level categorizations. Employing an intersectional approach within a multidimensional organizational power framework, this research utilizes case study methods to probe deeply into the multiple identities of academics in the Business Management discipline across various Chinese higher education institutions. The study reveals a dynamic interplay among multiple power dimensions, including American research hegemony, industrialization of academic governance, self-regulation, and rebellion against ‘academic games’. These forces collectively shape distinct identity modules among Chinese academics: fanatic convert of American research, career survivor, diligent game player, and career retreater, each responding uniquely to the evolving academic pressures. This research significantly enhances our understanding of academic identity construction by extending beyond traditional role-based analyses to encompass a broader spectrum of cognitive processes. It highlights the nuanced intersectionality of academic identities, effectively integrating structuralist perspectives with personal agency. This comprehensive examination provides critical insights into the development of Management disciplines, university governance, and professional practices within the academic community in China.

Emotional analysis of multiplayer online battle arena games addiction.

Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games have garnered widespread popularity as a form of recreational activity. The launch of League of Legends (LoL), a prominent MOBA game, has captivated the enthusiastic pursuit of gamers in the MOBA community. The surge in MOBA game fervor, coupled with the influence of personal emotions, can result in excessive engagement, ultimately leading to addiction. This study aimed to investigate the moderating effects of visceral perception, behavior, and reflection on game players' addiction within the framework of Leisure Theory (LT), Uses and Gratification Theory (UGT), and Emotional Design Theory (EDT). A hypothesized theoretical model was developed and empirically evaluated based on 236 self-reported validated responses from MOBA gamers. SPSS (version 26) was employed for demographic analysis and game duration analysis. The measurement model and structural model analyses were conducted in two stages using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.0 to validate the nine theoretical hypotheses. It has been observed that personal emotions significantly contributes to MOBA game addiction during gamers' leisure time or moments of gratification. Specifically, a noteworthy connection exists between two dimensions, namely gamers' behavior and reflection, demonstrating a positive correlation with gaming addiction. Without taking entertainment as a motivating factor, there is no significant relationship between gamers' leisure-time and visceral perception. This study enhances the theoretical model of gamers' behavioral motives in engaging with MOBA gaming and contributes to the expansion of research on game addiction theory. These findings offer valuable theoretical insights for emotional design in games and the design of mechanisms for preventing game addiction.

The Impact of the Industrial Internet on the Innovation and Development Level of China’s Manufacturing Industry: Under the Perspective of Government Incentives

In the era of the digital economy, it has become an inevitable trend for manufacturing enterprises to establish industrial Internet platforms toward achieving transformation and innovative development. However, the current development model of industrial Internet platforms is still imperfect, wherein the application scenario is complex, the investment cost is too high, the return-on-investment cycle is too long, and other factors have hindered the willingness of manufacturing enterprises to employ cloud services and capital investment. For this reason, governments have introduced a series of relevant incentive policies to promote the development of industrial Internet platforms and the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises. Considering the role of government incentives, this study first constructs an evolutionary game model with local governments, manufacturing enterprises, and industrial Internet platforms as the main players. Then, the dynamic change process of each game player’s strategy choice and the stable state of the system evolution under multiple scenarios are analyzed, and the validity of the conclusions is verified through a numerical simulation analysis. Finally, the statistical data of 28 provinces in China from 2018 to 2020 are used to conduct an empirical test to explore the impact of the industrial Internet on the transformation and innovation development of the manufacturing industry and the role of government incentives. The results show that the development of the industrial Internet has a significant role in promoting the innovation and development of the manufacturing industry; government incentives can promote the innovation and development of the industrial Internet and manufacturing industry, but incentives should not be too generous; and the impact of developing the industrial Internet on the level of innovation input/output of the manufacturing industry shows obvious regional differences. This study takes the local government as an independent game participant into consideration, which enriches the research field of combining evolutionary game theory with the transformation and innovative development of the manufacturing industry. In addition, this study provides theoretical guidance and practical references for the government to formulate incentive policies to promote the development of industrial Internet platforms and for manufacturing enterprises to utilize these platforms to carry out innovation and perform upgrades.
