Формирование готовности воспитанников к овладению воинскими профессиями в образовательной среде кадетского корпуса

<p>The article considers the problem of choosing a future profession in the context of psychological readiness for various types of activities, including military service. The authors discuss various theoretical approaches to readiness, emphasize the importance of developing readiness for military service as a key aspect of the social system. The empirical study was conducted at Cadet School No. 1784 named after Army General V.A. Matrosov. 46 students took part in the study. The comparison group consisted of students of the educational school (49 people). The following methods were used: Herzberg motivational structure test, diagnostics of interactive orientation of personality (N.P. Fetiskin), questionnaire "Military-professional motivation" (B.V. Ovchinnikov, A.F. Borovikov). The following results were obtained: awareness and motivational attention to the choice of a future profession among cadets and students of a comprehensive school are practically the same. There is a connection between the indicator "military-professional motivation" and the motivational structure and interactive orientation of cadets; The following connections were identified: with the attitude towards management, with cooperation in the team, with the motive of achieving personal success, with the content of the activity. Conclusion: since there are connections between military-professional motivation and the motivational structure and interactive orientation of cadets, it is necessary to carry out complex influences aimed at developing readiness to choose a military-professional career for students studying in the cadet corps. <strong><em>Key words</em></strong>: professional self-determination, readiness to master military professions, classification of readiness for military service, formation of readiness to choose a military profession.</p>

Insertion of agronomy and animal science course students in bovine slaughterhouses, in mato grosso do sul, directs learning: a rural extension perspective

Rural extension is a tool that has become essential for the efficient and rapid implementation of good agricultural and livestock practices, seeking the development of rural properties. Carrying out an internship provides the student with professional and personal growth, as having the opportunity to follow the routine of their future profession allows them to improve their learning. In this context, the article explored the insertion of students from Agronomy and Zootechnics courses in beef production, on properties and in beef slaughterhouses. Describing the targeted experience and learning of students, it can contribute to carcass yield and meat quality, highlighting the importance of the partnership between the University, producers and agribusinesses. During the months of November 2022 to January 2023, students from the Agronomy and Zootechnics courses followed the activities of a company in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, which carries out technical monitoring of slaughter, and provides consultancy to improve the quality of beef. Given the aspects reported, we can say that carrying out this internship contributed to providing new experiences for these students, especially in rural areas and meat quality. Making it possible to improve and consolidate knowledge about cattle farming, animal nutrition, health management, slaughter and meat quality. By carrying out activities during the internship, it served to influence professional training. The activities proved to be extremely relevant in the construction of theoretical-practical knowledge among those involved, industry, company, students and producers and the suggestions given to producers provided differentiated training as it covered different areas of the beef cattle production chain.

The article explores the transformation of employment and human resources under the influence of the digital economy. Digital technologies are changing the professional structure, automating processes, and creating new requirements for workers. While new professions are emerging, they are often aimed at further automation, raising the risk of mass unemployment and loss of control over one's professional future. Special attention is given to the impact of digitalization on shifts in approaches to human resource management. The article also discusses an ecosystem approach to labor organization based on human-technology interaction and the importance of preserving humanistic values in the new economy

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT – THE WAY TO INTEGRATION AND INDEPENDENCE FOR PEOPLE IN A HOMELESSNESS CRISIS

The supported employment model for homeless people is based on a holistic approach that combines professional, housing, health, and social support. The innovative nature of the presented model includes students as assistants supporting people in a homelessness crisis since young people particularly appreciate professional activity as a way to develop and meet basic needs and, as a result, to solve problems. Students make a personal effort and, at the same time, invest in their professional future. Simultaneously, their enthusiasm and commitment to solving some problems and their innovative approach may be important for the people who are supported in a homelessness crisis. A key element of the supported employment directed at such people is an individual approach to the needs of each person and long-term cooperation between institutions.Thanks to this, people with the problem of homelessness have a chance to permanently integrate into the labor market and return to full independence in their lives.

Report on the first All-Russian Student Olympiad on Endoscopy

Purpose: To demonstrate the results of the first All-Russian Student Olympiad on Endoscopy. Materials and methods: The team of authors prepared and conducted the first All-Russian Student Olympiad on Endoscopy within the framework of the conference «Topical Issues of Endoscopy». The Olympiad was held in two stages, which allowed evaluating the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the participants. The topic of the first All-Russian Student Olympiad was upper GI tract endoscopy. The first stage consisted of testing and a quiz. The test was devoted to general issues of endoscopy, and the quiz was devoted to bleeding from the upper GI tract and methods of endoscopic hemostasis. The second stage consisted of a practical part and answers to the judges’ questions. The practical part involved performance of video endoscopy on a biopreparation (porcine esophagus and stomach), identification of a conditional ulcer complicated by bleeding and performance of endoscopic hemostasis by clipping. When performing the task, the team spoke through all their actions. After the manipulation, each team answered 2 questions from the judges. Results: The results of the All-Russian Student Olympiad revealed three winners. 1st place: the team of the N. I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (A. A. Klimenko, 3rd year student; K. A. Kuznetsova, 5th year student; A. I. Khizhnyak, 5th year student); 2nd place: the team of the St. Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University (D. K. Skalinsky, 3rd year student; A. D. Komarova, 3rd year student; I. A. Cherepakhina, 5th year student); 3rd place: the team of the V. A. Almazov National Medical Research Center FSBI of the Ministry of Health of Russia (A. D. Shelimanova, 4th year student; Yu. M. Bogdanov, 5th year student; M. V. Chukin, 4th year student). Conclusion: The event enabled the students to show curiosity, determine the attitude to the future profession, demonstrate their knowledge and manual skills in the field of endoscopy, as well as gain experience in teamwork. Evaluating the work of the novice endoscopists, the leading specialists in the field of surgery and endoscopy identify promising students, which has a positive impact on attracting young promising specialists to the profession.

Formation of professional identity and motivation among future primary school teachers in the process of educational practice

Introduction. The article examines the problem of forming professional identity and motivation among students in the process of mastering the discipline “Educational practice (research work (obtaining primary skills in research work))”. The current stage of professional training of future teachers is focused on mastering the methods of integrating educational subjects for organizing developmental research activities, which is reflected in the “Core of Higher Pedagogical Education.” The purpose of the article is to substantiate the way of formation of professional identity and motivation of future teachers in the process of educational practice (research work (obtaining primary research skills)”. Materials and Methods. Theoretical and methodological analysis, a method of diagnostic analysis, including a questionnaire of professional identity of students (U. S. Rodygina), diagnosing the internal position of students in relation to their future profession, the components of which are the characteristics of the professional identity of students “Emotional attitude” and “ Conscious activity"; a methodology for determining motivation for vocational training (V.G. Katashev), which allows one to study and analyze the level of motivation of students in the context of their vocational education; methods of mathematical statistics. Results. Testing students – future primary school teachers in the process of educational practice to obtain primary skills in research work allowed us to conclude that the motivation of future primary school teachers is normal. As a result of the study, it was revealed that according to the questionnaire “Professional Identity of Students” (U. S. Rodygina), the highest average score was noted on the scale “positive emotions associated with meeting a person’s needs in the profession”, the lowest average score corresponds to the scale “position of a student’s passive attitude” to the acquired profession”. The results obtained from the diagnostic “Methodology for determining motivation for vocational training” showed that the highest average score corresponds to the normal level of motivation, the lowest – to the average level of motivation. Discussion and Conclusions. The obtained results of the study substantiate the relevance of the problem of forming professional identity and motivation among students of the faculty of primary school teacher training in the process of educational practice. The educational practice carried out at the faculty plays a key role in the formation of students’ primary research skills. The peculiarities of the implementation of this type of practice is that the process of training future teachers consists of three modules: methodological foundations of scientific knowledge; methods of psychological and pedagogical research; registration of the results of scientific work. Each module is aimed at achieving the goal of practice: obtaining primary research skills in organizing and conducting psychological and pedagogical research in education, processing and presenting its results. The module tasks are aimed at students performing a number of practical actions: studying the fundamentals of the scientific method; choosing a topic and research question; literature review; data collection and analysis; interpretation of results; writing a scientific article or report; preparing a presentation; public speaking practice; cooperation with the scientific supervisor; publication and feedback. The authors emphasize the effectiveness of the tasks used in the process of developing students’ research skills.

Образовательные онлайн-технологии как эффективное средство обучения английской терминологии языка для специальных целей (ЯСЦ) студентов неязыковых специальностей вуза: междисциплинарный подход

The paper describes the research conducted by the team of the English teachers of English for Humanities Dpt. of Southern federal university. The investigation aimed at the study of effectiveness of learning English terminology for special purposes by the non-linguistics university program students with the help of IT-technologies. In the experiment the online course "Legal Communication: Legal Writing and Oral Communication in the Practice of Law", developed by the interdisciplinary team of university teachers of the Faculty of Law and the English teachers of English for Humanities Dpt. on the Moodle LMS. Interdisciplinary approach applied in the course of investigation embraced the main principles of two sciences: methods of teaching foreign languages and terminology study. The results obtained show that both the usage of educational IT-technologies and the educational IT- products increases the students’ motivation for learning the language of their future profession if the content of the educational IT- products is thoroughly developed on the main subjects of theoretical and practical terminology study: the description of the history of formation and development of a language for special purposes, the linguistic and extra-linguistic factors that influenced its development, its vocabulary, style and genres, the techniques of appropriate use of terms in the special context.

Training of future ship engineers and electricians by means of competence, communicative and interdisciplinary approaches

The article examines the peculiarities of future ship engineers and electricians education by means of competence, communicative and interdisciplinary approaches; emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary connections of the disciplines of different cycles of training; it is underlined that the process of future seafarers education should be based on a competent, communicative and interdisciplinary approach, which will provide future specialists with efficiency in acquiring knowledge, skills and abilities. The important competencies are defined in research by the educational goals of the competency-based approach that include knowledge and understanding (theoretical knowledge of an academic discipline, the ability to know and understand); knowledge of how to act (practical or operational application of knowledge in certain situations); knowledge of how to live (values as an integral element of perception and coexistence with others in a social context). The interdisciplinary approach is an interdisciplinary movement of knowledge towards integrity, which involves a systematic study of the object and is a logical result of changes in each of the interacting knowledge systems, and is the source of the emergence of new trends towards their integration. The study notes that the use of competency-based and interdisciplinary approaches contributes to the effective planning of professional training of a specialist; the analysis of the situation with the influence of interdisciplinary and competence approaches on the sequence of presentation of educational material when studying the disciplines of different training cycles allows to say that the use of these approaches contributes both to the in-depth assimilation of knowledge and skills by cadets and enriches their horizons allowing to establish relationships and interdependencies in the process of their education. Attention is drawn to the fact that the communicative approach in studying the disciplines of the cycle of humanitarian and socio-economic education will contribute not only to communicative knowledge and skills (frequency, accuracy in formulating statements, the correct use of existing samples and the construction of one's own), but will also produce such universal skills as teamwork, creativity, flexibility, etc. It has been proven that there is a need to apply the principles of interdisciplinary and competency-based approaches in educational and professional programs, training programs, curricula for more effective mastery of the future profession by ship engineers and electricians

The problems of university messages in communication with applicants

The types of university communications and the interest of applicants in them are investigated. It is based on the analysis of the Internet survey conducted by the author in the summer of 2023 for applicants to Nizhny Novgorod universities. The interdependence between the style of message texts and their attractiveness to applicants is considered; a hierarchy, according to the target audience, of the university's message signs is proposed. The author has designed the process of receiving a message from an applicant from a university and explain the specifics of these communication processes due to the influence of increased competitiveness of universities for the attention of applicants and the intergenerational gap between university staff and future students, which provides a basis for studying the values of representatives of generation Z. Characteristics of representatives of the younger generation are given, the understanding of «clip thinking» and its influence will be revealed for the receipt and processing of information from the university in the Internet space. Depending on the types of messages that are of interest to future students, the author proposes a typologization of applicants. The multidimensional scaling method used by the author will allow us to identify 4 types of applicants who pay attention to different types of messages from the university, which leads them to different degrees of readiness for admission and the choice of their future profession.

Facilitating Indonesian EFL pre-service teachers’ professional development through the “Kampus Mengajar” program

Research on the Kampus Mengajar program has revealed challenges for teachers, particularly in advancing their professional development. However, other studies suggest that the program holds the potential for a significant positive impact on teacher professional growth. This study explores how the Kampus Mengajar program contributes to the professional development of pre-service teachers, focusing on their perspectives and experiences. This narrative case study involved four pre-service teachers from a private university in Surabaya, Indonesia. Data were collected through reflective notes and semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis deductively to explore prominent themes. The findings indicate that the Kampus Mengajar program supports pre-service teachers' professionalism by enhancing their pedagogical knowledge, teaching skills, and problem-solving abilities. Participants appreciated the program for boosting their self-efficacy and helping them master the 4C skills: critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. This study underscores the value of teaching practicums in fostering future teachers' professionalism. Despite some challenges in the program's implementation, the empirical evidence suggests that the Kampus Mengajar program should be continued.

The development and implementation of business games in medicine make it possible not only to interest students in the profession, but also to form the foundations of clinical thinking and team interaction.

Exploring EFL teachers’ emotional experiences and adaptive expertise in the context of AI advancements: A positive psychology perspective

The rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping language education, raising concerns about the professional future of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers. While existing literature often highlights the effectiveness of AI tools, it tends to overlook their impact on teachers' relevant expertise development and emotional experiences. This longitudinal study addresses this gap by exploring EFL teachers' emotional landscapes and adaptive expertise development through the lens of positive psychology. Employing thematic analysis, the study draws on data from three rounds of semi-structured interviews with ten EFL teachers, complemented by students' post-class reflections and classroom observations. The findings highlight the pivotal role of positive emotions in EFL teachers' professional development, revealing a dynamic, non-linear interaction between positive and negative emotions as teachers navigate AI-integrated language education. This emotional interplay is significantly influenced by teachers' social connections and professional backgrounds. The study underscores the need for institutional support systems that promote positive emotions and enhance teachers' digital literacy. By deepening our understanding of EFL teachers’ emotional experiences and professional growth within the AI-integrated educational context, this study offers valuable insights for designing targeted interventions and curriculum reforms that foster effective collaboration between human and AI intelligence in global education.

Illuminating Meshworks of Pre-Service Teachers’ Curated Co-Living Learning Spaces

Learning spaces in higher education are fraught with colonial barriers such as teacher-centered, front facing, stark, feelingless, and unwelcoming classrooms that diminish students’ feelings of well-being. For pre-service teachers, these are also the types of classrooms that they often inherit as they foray into the profession. Three Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) assistant professors investigate how pre-service teachers’ well-being shifted when collectively (re)imagining and (re)envisioning a colonial university classroom space in a faculty building that is over 100 years old. They then share the findings of their a/r/tography, action research inquiry that captured the co-living, metabolic experiences and relational meshworks of both participants (n=11) and researchers documented through reflexive journaling, artistic artifacts, interviews (n=3), and contemplation. The researchers embody decolonizing praxes through intentional interpretation and writing scholarship as they weave their storied inquiry. They conclude with transformative urgencies for how B.Ed programs can recalibrate their physical learning spaces to better support and sustain teachers’ well-being in their future profession.

The invisible connection of mothers' BMI, emotional appetite, and food choices with childhood obesity.

This study examined the effects of mothers' body mass index (BMI), emotional appetite, and food choices on children's growth curves and adiposity. Data was collected from 492 mothers. The demographic characteristics and anthropometric measurements were obtained using a questionnaire. The mothers' food choices and emotional appetites were assessed using scales. BMI for age Z score and tripoderal index (TMI) were used in the evaluation of children's anthropometric measurements and adiposity. The mean age of mothers' was 39.10 ± 0.26 and BMI was 25.08 ± 0.21. Among the mothers, 54.5% were classified as normal, 28.4% as pre-obese, and 14.7% as obese. Among the children, 31.5% were overweight or obese. There was a strong positive correlation between the mean BMI of the mothers and the mean TMI and BMI of the children (p < 0.001). The "convenience" food choice factor of mothers had negative correlation with childiren's BMI for age (p < 0.005). This study emphasizes the invisible connection between mothers' emotional appetite and food choices and children's BMI and TMI and highlights the importance of paying attention to mothers' eating habits for children's health outcomes. These findings will be informative in the formulation of future health policies. This research revealed the relationship between mothers' food choices and emotional appetites, and their children's growth curves and adiposity. The study proposes the Triponderal Index as an alternative approach to evaluating growth, introducing a novel perspective in growth monitoring. By highlighting the impact of mothers' emotional appetites and food choices on children's dietary habits and weight status, the research emphasizes the significance of family eating habits. The findings support the promotion of healthy dietary practices within families as a crucial measure in preventing and managing childhood obesity, conveying a significant message to parents and healthcare professionals for a healthier future.

Exploring excellence: a comprehensive examination of professional development in library and information science

Purpose This study aims to investigate future trends evident in the literature. It systematically reviews continuing professional development (CPD) practices, covering a range of CPD channels, benefits and challenges. Design/methodology/approach The study used a systematic literature review approach following the PRISMA 20 framework. Literature published between 2017 and 2023 was sourced from Scopus and Web of Science databases and the researcher's prior collection. An extensive search strategy was devised, yielding 1,740 results for initial screening. Finally, 25 studies were thoroughly scrutinized, each fulfilling the criteria for inclusive and exclusive with descriptive and interrogative analysis. Findings The trend observed in literature over the years indicates a dynamic professional development of library and information science (LIS) professionals. This evolution encompasses foundational qualitative studies, expansive global assessments and technology-driven interventions, reflecting the field's adaptability to the evolving needs of LIS professionals. However, several impediments hinder professionals from actively participating, such as financial constraints, lack of institutional and senior support, difficulties in the workplace, the absence of well-defined CPD policies, personal commitments, family obligations and diverse staff attitudes. The study proposes seamless integration of information and communication technology, a global perspective and well-structured CPD programs focusing on lifelong learning that will shape the future of LIS professionals. Originality/value This study offers valuable insights into the present state of professional development among LIS professionals toward global collaboration and a dedication to lifelong learning, aiming to aid stakeholders in formulating suitable strategies and policies.

Dietetics students' opinion on food and their future profession

Introduction: Although it is believed that dietitians will use their opinions about food in their professional practice, few studies evaluated conceptions about food and health among dietitians, and this evaluation could be useful for understanding university education and thinking about possible professional implications. Methods: The study aimed to understand the role of food and what it means to be a dietitian from the perspective of Brazilian dietetics students (495 from 34 institutions in the state of São Paulo) through the questions, "What do you consider the main role of food?" and "For me, being a dietitian means...” The responses were analyzed with the support of AtlasTi software and codified into analytical categories based on content analysis. Results: Of the total, 93% were female and 20% were enrolled in public institutions. Two main categories were defined for food: biological and psycho-sociocultural aspects, and two for nutritionists: health promoter and integral health promoter; 69% indicated the function of food as only biological and 61,3% see the dietitian to be only a health promoter, considering only physiological aspects. Students from public institutions responded more for psycho-sociocultural aspects and integral health promotion (p&lt;0.0001). Conclusion: Most participants present opinions about food in their professional practice focusing mainly on biological and physical health aspects. The possible impact of these opinions on professional practice should be discussed and addressed so that undergraduation can expand critical training and better professional practice.

Value-based and goal-setting orientations of pre-service Russian sign language interpreters

Introduction. The relevance of research into the problem of training Russian sign language (RSL) interpreters for the university bachelor’s degree is ensured by the government procurement for the provision of translation services for people with hearing disabilities in public offices and state agencies, which is compliant with the UN principles of providing equal opportunities for disabled people to actively participate in the life of society. During the period of university studies students are supposed to learn sign language, master translator’s skills and become aware of the specificity of communication with representatives of deaf society. To succeed in achieving these results students should clearly understand what they study and how it is related to their values and future profession. In other words, they are supposed to have goals which university program can help to achieve. Thus, the aim of the research is to analyze valuebased and goal-setting orientations of future RSL interpreters and their perception of the professionally important qualities of an RSL interpreter. Materials and methods. The research was carried out at Novosibirsk state technical university (Russian Federation). The samples were the first-year and fourth-year students majoring in Linguistics, specialty ‘English language and Russian sign language interpreter’. The data collection was done by means of a survey based on the questionnaire with open ended questions and Rokeach Value survey. Results. The choice of sample groups of the first-year and the fourth-year students was determined by the need to compare educational goals which students set at the start of the university studies and educational goals of those who have covered most part of the program and are close to graduation. The analysis of the received results reveals that the goals of the senior students are more focused on professional activity – ‘to master profession through practice’ (61%), while the goals of the freshmen are more orientated at mastering English (36%) and learning new sign language (23%). It is worth noting that 7% of the first-year students and 7.5% of the fourth-year students have the goals that are not related to studying in the program, and after graduation they are not going to work in the field of RSL interpreting. Moreover, students have rather inconsistent understanding of professionally important qualities of an RSL interpreter. The results of the Rokeach Value survey test demonstrate that students’ terminal and instrumental values correlate with their answers to the questionnaire. The instrumental values students ranked as the most important demonstrate stronger focus on self than on other people. Conclusion. The findings suggest insufficiently developed students’ skills of goalsetting and defining the means of goal attaining. The future RSL interpreters need to develop goalsetting skills that could help them formulate the strategies of setting personally and professionally important goals and define the ways of their attainment. The continuation of present research is seen as an action research into the problem of the pre-service RSL interpreters’ goalsetting.

Vasyl Yakovych Danylevskyi's lecture on science, university and faculty selection (1921): annotated translation

Kharkiv National Medical University has the honor to present a series of lectures by the outstanding doctor of Kharkiv region Danylevskyi V.Ya., which for 100 years have not lost their relevance and can be a guideline for modern doctors and students of medical universities. In this abstract, we will briefly outline the advice of the author of the lecture to young doctors. Without a general scientific education, even a good practicing doctor will remain a narrow empiricist with a limited mental horizon. The student must complete the entire curriculum, because he cannot yet understand the suitability of the academic subjects in his future profession. The formalistic system of educational institutions suppresses higher educational interests, logic and scientific truth. Scientific successes bring people together and promote international communication based on knowledge and art, work and peace. True, mutual understanding covers only the cultural top of the population. Therefore, the democratization of science is necessary for the universal sharing of spiritual and material benefits. That is why they fought so hard for the development of the education of their people in European countries after the wars, and that is why the general rise of the cultural and political power of Japan began with the development of public education. Our physical and mental health depends on all conditions of human existence, starting with the mental and social state. That is why in all matters of physical, mental and social life, their organization and reform, the voice of the doctor should be highly respected. To earn such respect, the doctor must have great tact, understanding of people, and most importantly, great scientific knowledge. What should someone do who has already spent 2–3 years at medical school and then became convinced of his worthlessness? Of course, leaving medicine. Factors affecting the formation of negative attitudes in undergraduate nursing students towards their profession: A content analysis.

The attitude of nursing students towards their profession is one of the important factors that have many effects on students and their professional future. A positive attitude leads to academic progress, and in the future, nurses with professional commitment will enter the labour market, and on the contrary, a negative attitude can lead to withdrawal from education and job burnout. The aim of the present study was to investigate factors affecting the formation of negative attitudes in undergraduate nursing students towards their profession. This study was conducted with a qualitative research method and with a content analysis approach in 1400 in nursing and midwifery schools in Tehran. In order to collect data, 21 people were selected by purposeful sampling and semi-structured interviews were conducted with them. The interviews were recorded and transcribed on paper and analysed. Information in 4 main categories and 11 sub-categories, including defects in the structure of the organisation (including the sub-categories of discrimination, job problems, financial problems, defective organisational management, unfavourable professional communication), inefficient educational system (including the sub-category of defects in clinical education and educational supervision), individual factors (including the sub-classes of lack of interest and low self-esteem), and community beliefs (including the sub-classes of low social value and ignorant society), was included. Various reasons are involved in the formation of a negative attitude towards the nursing profession, and in most cases, these factors are related to the problems of the profession and the educational problems of the profession, which can be solved by adjusting some factors and paying more attention to the profession from upstream organisations. "Mentoring" : a vigorous scaffold in medical education. Join us to deploy it

Pursuing the journey to becoming a doctor is notoriously quite difficult to succeed, and even more difficult to succeed on your own. Although the medical education landscape has seen innovations to maximize the path to success, students often encounter challenges throughout their learning and discovery of their future profession. As such, they must be offered supportive opportunities that help them counter difficulties, realize their goals, and excel in their highly chosen vocation. In response, mentoring is a real springboard for support from experienced peers, a scaffolding for growth through guiding models that are not available in curricular manuals. By sharing their experience, the mentor prunes and enriches the mentee, solidifies their knowledge and academic and socio-professional skills, allowing them to evolve towards their own full potential. Through this pairing that adapts to circumstances, meeting students with what they need, when they need it, mentoring supports the medical career path. Although the recognized importance of the concept is not new, it is rarely the subject of reinforcement in our framework. The objective of this review is to explore the current literature reporting on mentoring in the field of medical education to advance its growth and development.
