The Effect of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) on Improving Tax Compliance Rates

Kosovo's tax administration plays a fundamental role in the state's functioning, carrying out many duties and obligations. In addition to these duties, TAK also acts as a stabilizing element for the macro-fiscal economy. In addition to the importance of human resources, the function of information technology is unquestionably crucial in achieving TAK's objectives. The implementation of information technology has resulted in the mechanization of several processes, simplifying the gathering of data and the distribution of tax responsibilities. Advanced information technology systems have improved communication channels with taxpayers and other individuals or groups involved, promoting increased transparency in tax information management. The adoption of the Electronic Data Exchange (EDI) application has resulted in advantages not just for TAK but also for taxpayers and the general public. There are several benefits to using TAK, such as increased efficiency in processing tax return data, less dependence on people specifically assigned to tax return processing, and a lower likelihood of errors in tax returns. The benefits for taxpayers and citizens include the convenience of filing and paying taxes, the option to do so online at any time, and the ability to access online services without the need for in-person engagement with tax authorities. Another vital part of TAK's employment of information technology is the facilitation of online declarations and payments, as well as digital connections with taxpayers. This progress has led to higher adherence to tax obligations and a decreased incidence of tax evasion.

Present and Future of AI-IoT-Based Healthcare Services for Senior Citizens in Local Communities: A Review of a South Korean Government Digital Healthcare Initiatives.

South Korea is promoting digital healthcare services in the public sector. One notable initiative is the "artificial intelligence and the internet of things (AI-IoT)-based healthcare project for senior citizens", which was implemented by the Korea Health Promotion Institute (KHPI). This project utilized an IoT-based digital healthcare service that integrates information technology and screen-based AI speaker functions. Services through this project are intended for senior citizens aged 65 years (or older) who face challenges in visiting public healthcare institutions owing to limitations on outdoor activities, especially in the post-coronavirus 2019 era. This article shares the recent outcomes of this project and outlines the mid-to-long-term development strategies for this style of South Korean digital healthcare initiatives.

Incorporating health IT into primary care transformation.

To understand the role of health information technology (IT) vendors and health IT functionality in supporting advanced primary care. We synthesized multiple rounds of surveys and interviews (2017-2022) from a mixed-methods evaluation of Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), a multipayer model developed by CMS. CPC+ was the first federal advanced primary care reform effort that formalized health IT vendors' roles in supporting health IT implementation and specified detailed health IT requirements for practices. We conducted content analysis to identify cross-cutting themes related to health IT for both practices and vendors, comparing similarities and differences across participants and (when possible) over time. Vendors and practices reported advances in registries and dashboards for improved information management within the practice as well as strengthened relationships between vendors and practices that supported health IT implementation. However, CPC+ practices noted several gaps or challenges using existing functionalities, and both vendors and practices reported broader challenges for more transformative health IT change, particularly the lack of interoperable health information exchange needed to support care management and care coordination. Key factors constraining vendors' investment in further advances included long product development schedules, making it difficult to respond to rapidly evolving model requirements. Vendors also shared that CPC+ practices represented a small fraction of their client base, so investing in developing new functionality was not strategic unless it was more broadly relevant outside CPC+. Continued collaboration among health IT vendors, practices, policy makers, and payers could support continued technological improvements, particularly related to information exchange and communication. Aligning requirements more closely with other federal and private models could also help mitigate the risk for vendors.

Research on the Application of Information Management System in the Laboratory of Power Generation Enterprises

Information management systems have achieved many application results in the management of metrological calibration and chemical testing laboratories facing society, but there are few research and application cases that combine the two information systems. The power generation enterprise is equipped with both a metrological calibration laboratory and a chemical testing laboratory. Huadian Laizhou Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Huadian Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. have jointly developed an information system that can manage both laboratory businesses simultaneously. Starting from practical cases, this article discusses the development feasibility of this information system, its differences from conventional laboratory information systems, and the innovation points implemented in the project from the perspectives of information technology and software function settings.

Role of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Sustainability and Industrialization: A conceptual analysis

In practice, industrialization and development are closely linked. The growth driven by industrialization has a detrimental impact on human and environmental health. The sustainability of the development is still questionable. We will not be able to treat the next generation fairly if we cannot achieve sustainable development. In order to make development sustainable, the idea of sustainable development is currently being emphasized. The current study aims to understand the connection between industrialization and sustainable development and explore the approaches to sustainable development. It turns out that the function of information and communication technology (ICT) in sustainable development can be a starting point in this direction. It is also exploring how numerous sustainable development techniques can be brought together using ICT for this use of systems analysis approach. This paper also sheds light on the question of whether industrialization and sustainable development can go together. A model will be built to show the role of ICT in predicting the environmental changes influenced by industrialization. This model will help in reducing the time gap between awareness and actual environmental damage.

Information Technology-Based Law Enforcement in Increasing Public Trust in the Police

The present article offers a succinct summary of the scholarly investigations on the function of information technology (IT) in law enforcement and its influence on the level of trust that the public places in this institution. This study aims to investigate the significance of information technology (IT) in law enforcement and its correlation with the level of public confidence in law enforcement agencies. The methodology employed in this study is a literature review, which involves a systematic analysis of pertinent research articles and scholarly papers to extract significant insights. The results underscore the multifaceted uses of information technology in law enforcement, encompassing data mining and crime investigation systems, sophisticated IT methodologies, and knowledge representation and advisory systems. The utilization of IT applications has been observed to augment law enforcement capabilities and promote the establishment of public trust in the police. The study's findings suggest that the appropriate and principled utilization of information technology can facilitate openness, liability, and civic participation, resulting in enhanced rapport between law enforcement entities and the populace. The present study offers significant contributions to law enforcement, policymaking, and research by providing insights on how information technology (IT) can improve public trust in the police.

Enabling System Functionalities of Primary Care Practices for Team Dynamics in Transformation to Team-Based Care: A Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA).

Team-based primary care has been shown to be an important initiative for transforming primary care to achieve whole-person care, enhance health equity, and reduce provider burnout. Organizational approaches have been explored to better implement team-based care but a thorough understanding of the role of system functions is lacking. We aimed to identify the combinations of system functionalities in primary care practices that most enable effective teamwork. We used a novel method, qualitative comparative analysis (QCA), to identify cross-case patterns in 19 primary care practices in the Harvard Academic Innovations Collaborative (AIC), an initiative for transforming primary care practices by establishing teams and implementing team-based care. QCA findings identified that primary care practices with strong team dynamics exhibited strengths in three operational care process functionalities, including management of abnormal test results, cancer screening and medication management for high-priority patients, care transitions, and in health information technology (HIT) functionality. HIT functionality alone was not sufficient to achieve the desired outcomes. System functionalities in a primary care practice that support physicians and their teams in identifying patients with urgent and complex acute illnesses requiring immediate response and care and overcoming barriers to collaboration within and across institutional settings, may be essential for sustaining strong team-based primary care.

IMPACT OF LEGAL FRAMEWORK AND SCM POLICIES ON SUPPLY CHAIN COLLABORATION: ROLE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The purpose of this study is to investigate the Legal Framework and SCM policies governing supply chain collaboration, as well as the function of Information Technology as a mediator. The collection of direct data from respondents is a fundamental component of research methodology. The effect of the legal framework on supply chain collaboration in manufacturing firms in Sindh, Pakistan. The findings demonstrated that direct effect have a significant and positive beta. The full mediation effect of information technology as a mediator between legal framework planning and supply chain collaboration in Sindh, Pakistan, manufacturing firms is demonstrated. In addition, the effect of SCM policies on supply chain collaboration in manufacturing firms in Sindh, Pakistan. The findings revealed that beta values for the direct effect are positive and significant. The full effect of information technology as a mediator between SCM policies and supply chain collaboration in manufacturing firms in Sindh, Pakistan, is demonstrated. The findings of this study highlight the importance of a supportive legal framework and efficient supply chain management policies to facilitate supply chain collaboration. In addition, it highlights the essential role that information technology plays in facilitating and enhancing supply chain partner collaboration.

Internal and Environmental Predictors of Physician Practice Use of Screening and Medications for Opioid Use Disorders.

Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) remain highly inaccessible despite demonstrated effectiveness. We examine the extent of screening for opioid use and availability of MOUD in a national cross-section of multi-physician primary care and multispecialty practices. Drawing on an existing framework to characterize the internal and environmental context, we assess socio-technical, organizational-managerial, market-based, and state-regulation factors associated with the use of opioid screening and offering of MOUD in a practice. A total of 26.2% of practices offered MOUD, while 69.4% of practices screened for opioid use. Having advanced health information technology functionality was positively associated with both screening for opioid use and offering MOUD in a practice, while access to on-site behavioral clinicians was positively associated with offering MOUD in adjusted models. These results suggest that improving access to information and expertise may enable physician practices to respond more effectively to the nation's ongoing opioid epidemic.

Multilevel influences on patient engagement and chronic care management.

Physician practices are increasingly owned by health systems, which may support or hinder adoption of innovative care processes for adults with chronic conditions. We examined health system- and physician practice-level capabilities associated with adoption of (1) patient engagement strategies and (2) chronic care management processes for adult patients with diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease. We analyzed data collected from the National Survey of Healthcare Organizations and Systems, a nationally representative survey of physician practices (n = 796) and health systems (n = 247) (2017-2018). Multivariable multilevel linear regression models estimated system- and practice-level characteristics associated with practice adoption of patient engagement strategies and chronic care management processes. Health systems with processes to assess clinical evidence (β = 6.54 points on a 0-100 scale; P = .004) and with more advanced health information technology (HIT) functionality (β = 2.77 points per SD increase on a 0-100 scale; P = .03) adopted more practice-level chronic care management processes, but not patient engagement strategies, compared with systems lacking these capabilities. Physician practices with cultures oriented to innovation, more advanced HIT functionality, and with a process to assess clinical evidence adopted more patient engagement strategies and chronic care management processes. Health systems may be better able to support the adoption of practice-level chronic care management processes, which have a strong evidence base for implementation, compared with patient engagement strategies, which have less evidence to guide effective implementation. Health systems have an opportunity to advance patient-centered care by expanding practice-level HIT functionality and developing processes to appraise clinical evidence for practices.

Clinicians’ and Patients’ Perspectives on Hypertension Care in a Racially and Ethnically Diverse Population in Primary Care

Hypertension control remains suboptimal, particularly for Black and Hispanic or Latino patients. A need exists to improve hypertension management and design effective strategies to efficiently improve the quality of care in primary care, especially for these at-risk populations. Few studies have specifically explored perspectives on blood pressure management by primary care providers (PCPs) and patients. To examine clinician and patient perspectives on barriers and facilitators to hypertension control within a racially and ethnically diverse health care system. This qualitative study was conducted in a large urban US health care system from October 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021, among patients with a diagnosis of hypertension from a racially and ethnically diverse population, for a range of hypertension medication use hypertension control, as well as practicing PCPs. Analysis was conducted between June 2021 and February 2022 using immersion-crystallization methods. Perspectives on managing blood pressure, including medication adherence and lifestyle, considerations for intensification, and experiences and gaps in using health information technology tools for hypertension, were explored using semistructured qualitative interviews. These cycles of review were continued until all data were examined and meaningful patterns were identified. Interviews were conducted with 30 participants: 15 patients (mean [SD] age, 58.6 [16.2] years; 10 women [67%] and 9 Black patients [60%]) and 15 clinicians (14 PCPs and 1 medical assistant; 8 women [53%]). Eleven patients (73%) had suboptimally controlled blood pressure. Participants reported a wide range of experiences with hypertension care, even within the same clinics and health care system. Five themes relevant to managing hypertension for racially and ethnically diverse patient populations in primary care were identified: (1) difficulty with self-management activities, especially lifestyle modifications; (2) hesitancy intensifying medications by both clinicians and patients; (3) varying the timing and follow-up after changes in medication; (4) variation in blood pressure self-monitoring recommendations and uptake; and (5) limited specific functionality of current health information technology tools. In this qualitative study of the views of PCPs and patients on hypertension control, the participants felt that more focus should be placed on lifestyle modifications than medications for hypertension, particularly for patients from racial and ethnic minority groups. Participants also expressed concerns about the existing functionality of health information technology tools to support increasingly asynchronous hypertension care. More intentional ways of supporting treatment intensification, self-care, and follow-up care are needed to improve hypertension management for racially and ethnically diverse populations in primary care.

“Hacking marketing”: how do firms develop marketers' expertise and practices in a digital era?

PurposeDigital technologies, digitalised consumers and the torrent of customer data have been transforming marketing practice. In discussing such trends, existing research has either focussed on the skills marketers need or broad-based approaches such as agile methods but has given less consideration to just how such skills or approaches might be developed and used in marketers' day-to-day activities and in the organisation of marketing in the firm. This is what the authors address in this paper.Design/methodology/approachThis paper adopts an in-depth case study approach to examine an exemplary digital enterprise in transformation of their digital marketing. The insights were gathered from 25 interviews, netnography and document analysis of the case organisation in addition to 10 interviews with independent experts.FindingsDrawing on practice-oriented approach, the authors show how organisations respond to the emerging trends of digital consumers and big data by taking a ‘hacking marketing’ approach and developing novel marketing expertise at disciplinary boundaries. The authors put forward three sets of practices that enable and shape the hacking marketing approach. These include spanning the expertise boundary, making value measurable and experimenting through which their adaptive, iterative and multidisciplinary work occurs. This explains how managing digital consumers and big data is not within the realm of information technology (IT) functions but marketing and how marketing professionals are changing their practice and moving their disciplinary boundaries.Practical implicationsThis study offers practical contributions for firms in terms of identifying new work practices and expertise that marketing specialists need in managing digital platforms, digitalised consumers and big data. This study’s results show that enterprises need to design and implement strong training programmes to prepare their marketing workforce in adopting experimentations of agile approach and data-driven decision making. In addition, Marketing education should be changed so that programmes consider a review of their courses and include the novel marketing models and approaches into their curriculum.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the nascent discussions by unpacking how enterprises can develop new marketing expertise and practices beyond skillsets and how such practices form new hacking marketing approach which addresses the problem of the inability of the conventional marketing approach to show its value within the firm.

Capability Level Information Technology Governance with COBIT 5 Framework in the EDM04, APO01, and APO07 Processes at PT Future Mediatrix Group

PT Future Mediatrix Group is a company that does business in the field of information technology that provides social media services, digital activation, digital marketing, and website creation. The interviews show that the current obstacles are the lack of resource optimization, management of the IT management framework, and human resource management at PT Future Mediatrix Group. Considering the crucial function of information technology, a governance evaluation is needed to determine the capabilities possessed by information technology. In this study, the framework used was the COBIT 5 framework with the Assessment Process Activities stage. The domains used in this study are EDM04 (Ensure Resource Optimization), APO01 (Manage the IT Management Framework), and APO07 (Manage Human Resources) obtained from problem mapping. This study's results obtained the capability level in each domain. In the EDM04 (Ensure Resource Optimization) domain for the current condition, a capability value of 1.94 is obtained, which can be interpreted as being at capability level 2. In the APO01 (Manage the IT Management Framework) domain, a capability value of 2.45 is obtained for the current condition, which can be interpreted as being at capability level 2. In the APO07 (Manage Human Resource) domain for the current condition, a capability value of 2.27 is obtained, which can be interpreted as being at capability level 2. Therefore, PT Future Mediatrix Group is recommended to maximize resources and IT management framework.

Application of Information Technology in Construction : A Case from Nepal

This study aimed to identify the functions of information technology (IT) in the development of the construction industry in Chitwan and Nawalparasi. The study utilized a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire survey administered to ten contractors and ten consultants in the area. The survey included remarks about how IT is used in the construction industry, and four areas of IT use in construction were established. The identified outcomes were evaluated using Relative Importance Index (RII) and Ranking. The study found that the operational level, design level, and official level of management were the three most important levels of management by the relative importance index analysis. The mobile phone, laptop, and desktop computer were the primary hardware devices utilized on-site, and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word were determined to be the most important applications used in site administration. The study concluded that IT is a critical tool for the administration and management of construction projects. The findings of this study are consistent with other research that highlights the importance of IT in the construction industry. Information technology is streamlining operations in the construction sector, improving construction quality and safety measures, and maximizing efficiency and reliance on data in construction. The adoption of data-driven technologies such as building information modeling (BIM) is transforming the construction industry. Modern technologies and construction software are helping to control the information and disseminate it so it can be available and useful to project teams. Reflection on Value and Function of Information Technology Curriculum from the Reform of the British ICT Curriculum

In the context of social transformation, the needs of society and individuals for information technology are changing, and discussions on the value and function of information technology are getting more and more attention. The purpose of this research is to clarify the value problems of the information technology curriculum and its function for nurturing students in primary and secondary schools. This research adopts content analysis and comparative research methods, which focus on the process, content selection, and implementation status of information and communication technology (ICT) in the Computing curriculum of British primary and secondary schools. This research content is based on an analysis perspective of curriculum value theory from levels of social and human development, and finally formed the analysis framework of value in information technology curriculum standards. The research results analyze reasons for changes in the value orientation and practical performance of the information technology curriculum standards in Britain to help understand trends and challenges of information technology reform in different contexts. Finally, this research finds the effects of content and value changes of curriculum standards on social and student development and puts forward conclusions for the position and value of information technology in the future of learning and teaching in the context of educational informatization.
