This research’s title is "The Influence of Work Satisfaction on the Lecturer Performance Full Time Lecturer Hospitality Study Program in Private Universities in Bandung", The purpose of this research are to know the condition of job satisfaction and full time lecturer performance Hospitality Study Program in Private Universities in Bandung, and also to analyze the influence of lecturer job satisfaction on the lecturer performance in the Private Universities Hospitality Study Program In Bandung. The method used in this research is survey method with the level of explanation is associative. The Respondents in this research is using census with total of respondents are 57 respondents. The Data collection techniques are using literature study and questionnaires. The results of this research (1). job satisfaction and lecturer performance in high category. (2). The influence of the lecturer job satisfaction on the lecturer performance is at 63,50%, so it can be concluded that the job satisfaction variable has a positive and significant effect on the lecturer performance variable.

Mathematical analysis of a COVID-19 model with double dose vaccination in Bangladesh

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that kills millions of people each year and it is a major public health problem around the globe. The current COVID-19 situation is still now concerning, though the vaccination program is running. In this study, we considered a COVID-19 model with a double-dose vaccination strategy to control the current outbreak situation in Bangladesh. The fundamental qualitative analysis of this mathematical model has been performed. The conditions of positive invariance, boundedness with suitable initial conditions were analyzed. We have estimated the basic reproduction number (R0) for disease transmission and determined that our model contains two equilibrium points: the disease-free equilibrium and a disease-endemic equilibrium. We used the Routh-Hurwitz criteria to determine the stability of the equilibria. The disease will be eradicated from the community if R0 < 1, otherwise the disease persists in the population. To support the qualitative analysis of our model, we performed numerical simulations using MATLAB routine and estimated model parameters. Sensitivity analysis is used to explore the association for Mild and Critical cases concerning the corresponding model parameters. We observed that the most significant parameter to spread the virus is the transmission rate. The numerical simulations showed that a full dose vaccination program significantly reduces the mild and critical cases and has potential impact to eradicate the virus from the community. The information that we generated from our analysis may help the public health professionals to impose the best strategy effectively to control the outbreak situation of the virus in Bangladesh.

Results Of Clinical Testing Of Infanetim Technology Silver Line Toothpaste

Aim: To assess the impact of daily use of INFANETIM Technology® SILVER LINE hygienic toothpaste in adult volunteers and patients with a history of cancer on the risk of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI), and its preventive effect on cancer relapse. Patients and Methods: We conducted a controlled clinical observation with the participation of volunteers over 50 years of age, including those with a history of cancer. 612 volunteers were randomly assigned to use INFANETIM Technology Silver Line hygienic toothpaste or another regular hygienic toothpaste daily over the course of 2 years. Results: During clinical follow-up, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections per 612 volunteers who completed the full program was 64 in the INFANETIM Technology® group versus 229 in the control group (p=0.02; 95% CI 23-31%). In the study group, 9 cases of cancer relapse were registered among those who had a history of cancer, in the control group during the observation period, cancer relapse developed in 23 participants (p=0.046; 95% CI 27-49%). Conclusions: Daily oral hygiene with the use of a specialized toothpaste INFANETIM Technology Silver line reduces the risk of ARVI by more than 3 times (p=0.02; CI 23-31%) and reduces the risk of cancer relapse.

Velocity dispersion and dynamical masses for 388 galaxy clusters and groups

The second catalogue of Planck Sunyaev-Zeldovich (SZ) sources, hereafter PSZ2, represents the largest galaxy cluster sample selected by means of their SZ signature in a full-sky survey. Using telescopes at the Canary Island observatories, we conducted the long-term observational program 128- MULTIPLE-16/15B (hereafter LP15), a large and complete optical follow-up campaign of all the unidentified PSZ2 sources in the northern sky, with declinations above −15° and no correspondence in the first Planck catalogue PSZ1. This paper is the third and last in the series of LP15 results, after Streblyanska et al. (2019, A&amp;A, 628, A13) and Aguado-Barahona et al. (2019, A&amp;A, 631, A148), and presents all the spectroscopic observations of the full program. We complement these LP15 spectroscopic results with Sloan Digital Sky Survey archival data and other observations from a previous program (ITP13-08), and present a catalogue of 388 clusters and groups of galaxies including estimates of their velocity dispersion. The majority of them (356) are optical counterparts of PSZ2 sources. A subset of 297 of those clusters are used to construct the MSZ − Mdyn scaling relation based on the estimated SZ mass from Planck measurements and our dynamical mass estimates. We discuss and correct for different statistical and physical biases in the estimation of the masses, such as the Eddington bias when estimating MSZ and the aperture and the number of galaxies used to calculate Mdyn. The SZ-to-dynamical mass ratio for those 297 PSZ2 clusters is (1 − B) = 0.80 ± 0.04 (stat) ± 0.05 (sys), with only marginal evidence for a possible mass dependence for this factor. Our value is consistent with previous results in the literature, but is associated with a significantly smaller uncertainty due to the use of the largest sample size for this type of study.

Letter to the Editor Regarding “Bibliometric Analysis of Publications from 2011–2020 in 6 Major Neurosurgical Journals (Part 1): Geographic, Demographic, and Article Type Trends”

Women have historically been underrepresented in academic medicine, particularly in surgical subspecialties. This study investigated potential associations between gender and promoting practices in academic neurosurgery.Faculty data, including time from residency, professorship, specialty, and h-index, were obtained from websites of the institutions listed in the American Association of Neurological Surgeons Neurosurgical Residency Training Program Directory. Demographics, training, and appointments were compared between male and female neurosurgeons. Predictors of professorship, chair, directorship, and division leadership were identified using multivariable models.The study examined 1629 faculty members. Women were more likely to be assistant professors (P < 0.0001), while men were more likely to be full professors (P < 0.0001), hold chair positions (P = 0.007), lead subspecialty divisions (P = 0.008), and have a higher Scopus h-index (P < 0.0001). In a multivariable analysis, years from training (P < 0.001), fellowship (P = 0.009), h-index (P < 0.001), and chair/program director/division leadership position (P < 0.001) were significant positive predictors of full professorship. Holding additional advanced degrees (P = 0.010), leading a subspecialty division (P = 0.005), and having a higher h-index (P = 0.002) positively predicted chair position. However, when accounting for all other factors, gender was not a significant predictor of full professorship, division leadership, chair, or program directorship.While significantly more men hold leadership positions in U.S. academic institutions, after controlling for contributing variables, there did not appear to be an association between gender and full professorship, division leadership, chair, or program directorship in academic neurosurgery. While the field still has significant work to do to achieve gender equity, these results may serve as encouragement to women who are looking to advance their careers in academic neurosurgery.

Diversifying Faculty Leadership in Academic Medicine: The Program to Launch Underrepresented in Medicine Success (PLUS).

PLUS (Program to Launch Underrepresented in Medicine Success) is a 2-year cohort program at Indiana University School of Medicine providing professional development, funding and skills to produce scholarship, and a community to mitigate social and/or professional isolation for underrepresented in medicine (URiM) faculty. In year 1, scholars participate in leadership and professional development seminars and regular meetings with their mentor(s). They are assigned a PLUS Advisory Council advisor with whom they meet 2 to 3 times annually. In year 2, scholars participate in monthly seminars focused on research methods, writing productivity, and wellness. Additionally, scholars engage in a writing accountability group and practice reflective writing. Connections events, designed to combat isolation and cultivate community, occur monthly. At program completion, scholars complete a project resulting in a scholarly product for submission and dissemination in a peer-reviewed forum. To date, 3 cohorts, totaling 24 people, have participated: 20 (83%) Black, 4 (17%) Latinx; 12 (50%) females. Five scholars have completed the full program, whose pre- and postsurvey results are described. Program surveys demonstrate significant gains in scholars' confidence to secure leadership opportunities, connect with colleagues, and advocate for themselves and others. Scholars reported statistically significant increases in confidence to pursue leadership roles (t = -3.67, P = .02) and intent to submit their dossier for promotion (t = -6.50, P = .003). They were less likely to leave academic medicine (t = 2.75, P = .05) or pursue another academic appointment (t = 2.75, P = .05) after PLUS completion than at baseline. All scholars adequately met requirements for their third-year review (tenure track only), were promoted, or achieved tenure in less than 3 years since program completion. This article describes PLUS program objectives, evaluative components, and lessons learned during implementation, as a model to support URiM faculty at other institutions.

Impact of Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services in Patients with Different Lung Diseases.

Background: the effect of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) services, beyond research contexts, on patients with lung diseases other than COPD requires further study. Objectives: to (i) assess the impact of a publicly funded PR on patients’ exercise capacity, self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL), and (ii) explore whether the effects vary across lung diseases. Methods: this retrospective pre–post study analyzed data from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority PR program between 2016 and 2019. Results: 682 patients completed the full PR program. Pooled analyses found significant improvements in the patients’ exercise capacity (six-minute walk test (6MWT) (13.6%), fatigue (10.3%), and dyspnea (6.4%)), Self-Efficacy for Managing Chronic Disease 6-Item Scale (SEMCD6) (11.6%), and HRQoL (Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ) (18.5%) and St George’s Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ) (10.9%)). The analyses conducted on sub-groups of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), other restrictive lung diseases (e.g., obesity, pleural effusion, etc.), lung cancer, and pulmonary hypertension (PH) indicated that, except for patients with PH, all the patients improved in the 6MWT. Fatigue decreased in patients with COPD, ILDs, and other restrictive lung diseases. Dyspnea decreased in patients with COPD, asthma, and lung cancer. SEMCD6 scores increased in COPD, ILDs and PH patients. CCQ scores decreased in all lung diseases, except lung cancer and PH. SGRQ scores only decreased in patients with COPD. Conclusion: PR services had a significant impact on patients with different lung diseases. Therefore, publicly funded PR should be available as a critical component in the management of patients with these diseases.

Experimental Investigation on the Structural Performance of Single Span Hollow Core Slab under Successive Impact Loading.

In Lebanon and many other countries where structures are vulnerable to impact loads caused by accidental rock falls due to landslides, specifically bridges with hollow core slab, it is mandatory to develop safe and efficient design procedures to design such types of structures to withstand extreme cases of loading. The structural response of concrete members subjected to low velocity high falling weight raised the interest of researchers in the previous years. The effect of impact due to landslide falling rocks on reinforced concrete (RC) slabs has been investigated by many researchers, while very few studied the effect of impact loading on pre-stressed structures, noting that a recent study was conducted at Beirut Arab University which compared the dynamic behavior of reinforced concrete and post-tensioned slabs under impact loading from a 605 kg impactor freely dropped from a height of 20 m. Hollow core slabs are widely used in bridges and precast structures. Thus, studying their behavior due to such hazards becomes inevitable. This study focuses on these types of slabs. For a better understanding of the behavior, a full scale experimental program consists of testing a single span hollow core slab. The specimen has 6000 mm × 1200 mm × 200 mm dimensions with a 100 mm cast in a place topping slab. Successive free fall drops cases from 14 m height will be investigated on the prescribed slab having a span of 6000 m. This series of impacts will be held by hitting the single span hollow core slab at three different locations: center, edge, and near the support. The data from the testing program were used to assess the structural response in terms of experimental observations, maximum impact and inertia forces, structural damage/failure: type and pattern, acceleration response, and structural design recommendations. This research showed that the hollow core slab has a different dynamic behavior compared to the post tensioned and reinforced concrete slabs mentioned in the literature review section.

The Uptake of Nordic Hamstring Exercise Program for Injury Prevention in Major League Soccer and Its Barriers to Implementation in Practice.

It is well demonstrated that Nordic hamstring (NH) program has poor compliance across European soccer clubs, but little is known about its implementation in Major League Soccer (MLS). The authors aimed to investigate MLS hamstring prevention practices and compliance with the NH program and understand the reasons for its inclusion or exclusion. A cross-sectional electronic survey was completed by 24 of the 26 (92%) MLS top-division soccer clubs. The survey, based on the Reach, Efficacy, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance framework, was sent to team medical staff. Medical staff were also asked for opinions on barriers to implementation. Eighteen clubs (75%) reported a formal hamstring injury prevention program, with eccentric exercises (94%; 95% CI [confidence interval], 74%-99%), high-speed running (94%; 95% CI, 74%-99%), and NH exercises (89%; 95% CI, 67%-97%) the most common strategies adopted. Fifteen clubs partially implemented the NH program, but only 5 (21%; 95% CI, 9%-40%) completed the full program and were classed as compliant. A total of 20 respondents reported that player perception and muscle soreness (83%; 95% CI, 64%-93%) were barriers to the implementation of the NH program. On a 5-point Likert scale, respondents "partially agreed" (4.13 [0.80]) that the NH exercise could substantially reduce injuries and would be "effective" at their own club (3.88 [0.61]). The NH exercise was valued, but negative player perception and muscular soreness were identified as barriers to implementing the full program. Manipulation of volume and frequency should inform future "effectiveness" research to prospectively assess such modifications in the context of MLS.

Design and implementation of multi-purpose quizzes to improve mathematics learning for transitional engineering students

&lt;p style='text-indent:20px;'&gt;For students who are academically ineligible to enter a bachelor program in engineering but still want to upskill their knowledge in engineering, many universities provide an associate degree program in engineering to these students. The higher achievers from the associate degree program can transfer to a full degree program in engineering. Mathematics courses in such associate degree programs are often challenging to both the teachers and students due to various reasons. This paper presents a small part of a mathematics revitalization project on pedagogical adjustment to scaffold mathematics learning for students in an associate engineering program at Central Queensland University (CQU), a regional university in Australia, from 2018 to 2020. The design and implementation of the online multi-purpose quizzes (MPQ) to improve both the learning environment and outcomes for the engineering students from 2018 to 2020 are reported in this work. Statistically, the online MPQ empowered students to achieve their best possible outcomes by attempting the questions with time flexibility, on a confined set of topics, and with more chances of amending errors than the traditional written assessments. Hence, their performance in the online MPQ was consistently better than that in the written assignments in 2018-2020. The weaknesses of the online MPQ are also discussed.&lt;/p&gt;

KFL Program Building in the Era of Expansion: Innovative Local Strategies for Emerging Challenges

ABSTRACT This is a comparative study on the developmental trajectories of Korean as a foreign language (KFL) program building, based on the experiences of the past decade by four large state universities in North America. All four programs offer at least a three-year language sequence and are currently seeking expansion toward a full Korean studies program within its own academic context. This article explicates how program building efforts have addressed emerging challenges that are often institution-dependent and program-specific. The following strategies are highlighted: (a) starting a new program through community engagement, (b) reconfiguring the curriculum with changing demographics, (c) strengthening the program by stabilizing enrollment, and (d) fine-tuning the curriculum for program expansion. Thanks to innovative and proactive strategies, each program has passed the first phase of development in practical language training and already offers a solid curriculum with a major/minor degree in Korean language and/or Korean studies. In addition, the article examines the ways in which the pedagogical and curricula practices employed by these schools have helped to establish program identity and sustain program growth. Finally, the article projects that commonalities as well as the local differences in the four programs would be useful in designing an assessment framework on KFL program evaluation.

The Full Day School Program and Its Contribution to Student Learning Outcomes: Experience from English Subject

The implementation of a full-day school program at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes has successfully achieved the goal of learning. Research methods are qualitative approaches. The research design uses a case study. The research focuses on the full-day school program's contribution to student learning outcomes of English subject with the object’s alumni of full-day school classes, English teachers, and deputy head of curriculum at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes. Data collection technique’s semi-structured interviews, unstructured interviews, and literature reviews. Data validity techniques use source triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Huberman analysis. The study results are: First, the learning objectives of full-day school program implementation at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes have been achieved. Second, implementations of full-day school programs at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes can contribute to improving English learning outcomes. Third, the obstacle is the gap in students' grades between full-day school and regular.&#x0D; Abstrak&#x0D; Implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah berhasil mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Metode penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian. Pertama, tujuan pembelajaran implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah tercapai. Kedua implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes dapat memberikan kontribusi yang mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris. Ketiga salah satu kendalanya adalah adanya kesenjangan nilai antara siswa kelas full day school dengan siswa kelas reguler.

Implementation and Effectiveness of a Veterans Affairs-Based Comprehensive Lung Cancer Survivorship Program.

Few programs exist to address persistent impairment in functional status, quality of life, and mental health in lung cancer survivors. We aimed to determine whether a 12-wk multimodal survivorship program imparts clinical benefit. Any patient at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center with lung cancer and a Karnofsky score of ≥60 could participate. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease medications were optimized at the enrollment visit. Participants with a Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) score of >8 were offered pharmacotherapy and mental health referral. Participants did home-based exercise with a goal of 1 hr/d, 5 d/wk. They were called weekly to assess exercise progress and review depression/anxiety symptoms. Participants were offered pharmacotherapy for smoking cessation. Twenty-three (50%) of the first 46 enrollees completed the full 12-wk program. Paired changes from enrollment to completion (mean ± SD) were observed in 6-min walk test (73.6 ± 96.9 m, P = .002), BODE (Body mass index, airflow Obstruction, Dyspnea, and Exercise) index (-1.45 ± 1.64 points, P < .001), Duke Activity Status Index (3.84 ± 7.12 points, P = .02), Fried Frailty Index (-0.588 ± 0.939 points, P = .02), modified Medical Research Council dyspnea scale (-0.619 ± 1.284 points, P = .04), Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Lung Emotional subscale score (1.52 ± 2.96 points, P = .03), HADS total score (-2.63 ± 4.34 points, P = .02), and HADS Anxiety subscale score (-1.47 ± 2.29 points, P = .01). A comprehensive Lung Cancer Survivorship Program provides clinically meaningful improvements in functional status, quality of life, and mental health.

Program evaluation practices and the training of PhD students in STEM

PurposeProgram evaluation stands as an evidence-based process that would allow institutions to document and improve the quality of graduate programs and determine how to respond to growing calls for aligning training models to economic realities. This paper aims to present the current state of evaluation in research-based doctoral programs in STEM fields.Design/methodology/approachTo highlight the recent evaluative processes, the authors restricted the initial literature search to papers published in English between 2008 and 2019. As the authors were motivated by the shift at NIH, this review focuses on STEM programs, though papers on broader evaluation efforts were included as long as STEM-specific results could be identified. In total, 137 papers were included in the final review.FindingsOnly nine papers presented an evaluation of a full program. Instead, papers focused on evaluating individual components of a graduate program, testing small interventions or examining existing national data sets. The review did not find any documents that focused on the continual monitoring of training quality.Originality/valueThis review can serve as a resource, encourage transparency and provide motivation for faculty and administrators to gather and use assessment data to improve training models. By understanding how existing evaluations are conducted and implemented, administrators can apply evidence-based methodologies to ensure the highest quality training to best prepare students.

A column generation approach to the discrete barycenter problem

The discrete Wasserstein barycenter problem is a minimum-cost mass transport problem for a set of discrete probability measures. Although an exact barycenter is computable through linear programming, the underlying linear program can be extremely large. For worst-case input, a best known linear programming formulation is exponential in the number of variables, but has a low number of constraints, making it an interesting candidate for column generation.In this paper, we devise and study two column generation strategies: a natural one based on a simplified computation of reduced costs, and one through a Dantzig–Wolfe decomposition. For the latter, we produce efficiently solvable subproblems, namely, a pricing problem in the form of a classical transportation problem. The two strategies begin with an efficient computation of an initial feasible solution. While the structure of the constraints leads to the computation of the reduced costs of all remaining variables for setup, both approaches may outperform a computation using the full program in speed, and dramatically so in memory requirement. In our computational experiments, we exhibit that, depending on the input, either strategy can become a best choice.

Factors influencing participation in educational workshops as part of a pulmonary rehabilitation program in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a retrospective study

ABSTRACT Background Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) (primarily composed of an exercise training program (ET) and educational workshops) is an effective intervention for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Although factors which influence participation in the full PR program have been reported, specific data on the educational component of PR have not been published. We aimed to identify factors which predict refusal to participate in the educational component of PR. Research design and methods 201 patient charts were retrospectively included in the analysis. Patients were classified according to their acceptance or refusal to participate in the educational workshops. Results The location of ET outside the center was independently related to refusal to participate in the educational workshops (OR = 0.01 [95%CI 0.00 to 0.17]). Patients who refused the workshops were less disabled according to the number of prescriptions of noninvasive ventilation, use of medical transport, oxygen consumption and workload achieved during cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Conclusions The location of exercise sessions during PR influences patients’ decisions to refuse or accept center-based educational workshops. When center-based PR programs are limited, and the ET is relocated to the patient’s home, the educational workshops should also be relocated. Trial registration The trial is registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT04301245).

The Gender Pay Gap in Oral Surgery.

Men and women receive unequal pay for equal work, a gap of approximately 20% to 30% in income across most professions, including medicine and surgery. Inequality also exists in academic advancement, with far fewer women holding positions as full professors, program directors, or department heads. Women may be discouraged from pursuing surgery as a career, and they face unique challenges related to gender expectations in their role as surgeons. Steps to identifying gender bias and correcting the pay gap are important to ensure the growth and vitality of the specialty.

Estimation of Genetic Parameter by Using Full Diallel Cross in Maize under Different Irrigation Interval

The research was carried out with the aim of estimating the general and specific capabilities of the coalition and the genetic action of inbred lines of maize The field experiment was carried out in one of the agricultural fields of Al-Khalidiya District - Anbar Governorate - Iraq for the spring season 2019, five inbred lines AG116, AG-M20, MH17, MH121 and ZM4 were used for this study and entered into a full diallel-cross breeding program, and evaluate the behavior of these inbred lines and their diallel and reciprocal crosses according to the first Griffing method and the fixed model. A comparison experiment was carried out between parental inbred lines and diallel and reciprocal hybrids using the RCBD design in split-plot arrangement with three replications. Where the irrigation intervals 6 and 12 days allocated to the main plots, and genotypes (inbred lines and hybrids) allocated to the sub plots in order to estimate the general and specific combining ability of the studied traits. The results of the study indicated that there were significant differences between the parental inbred lines and their diallel and reciprocal hybrids in the general and specific combining abilities and their effects for most of the studied traits. The inbred ZM4 gave the highest negative combining ability to female flowering, which was −0.77 and −1.06 for 6 and 12-day irrigation intervals, respectively. While the MH121 inbred line with 6-day irrigation interval and ZM4 inbred line with 12-day irrigation interval were distinguished by giving it the highest positive and significant combining ability of grain yield, which amounted to 4.78 and 9.45, respectively. The specific combining ability of the hybrids was characterized by negative and positive values, the cross-hybrid AG116 × AGM20 with the irrigation interval of 6 days gave the highest positive and significant combining ability of 34.05. While the hybrid MH17 × ZM4 with an irrigation interval of 12 days was distinguished by giving it a positive combining ability of 7.12. As for the reciprocal hybrids, the reciprocal hybrid MH121 × AG116 with irrigation intervals of 6 and 12 days gave the highest positive and significant values of 48.74 and 25.76, respectively. The percentage of heritability in the broad sense was 99.8% in the leaf area of the 6-day irrigation interval, while with the 12-day irrigation interval it was 98.76% in the female flowering trait. Whereas, the percentages of heritability in the narrow sense reached 78% in the number of rows in ear with the irrigation interval of 6 days for the reciprocal hybrids, while it reached 78.91 in the reciprocal hybrids at the 12-day irrigation interval for female flowering.

Endodontics: clinical protocols on scientific basis

The 37th National Congress of the Italian Society of Endodontics (SIE), that will take place in Bologna the next 12th and 13th of November, finally marks a new beginning of in-person activities, as symbolically represented by the motto “SIE restart”. Last year the absence of our National Congress was admirably replaced by the Virtual Endodontic Week Convention of SIE from 3rd to 7th of November 2020. However, the urgent need of social as well as scientific restart, in line with the improvement of the pandemic condition and in compliance with laws, has allowed the creation of a full cultural program that will deal with Endodontics: clinical protocols on scientific basis. Specifically, during the two-days Congress personalities of note belonging to our Society and scientific community will present several lectures to provide an excursus on different fields of endodontics, from traditional endodontic approach to endodontic surgery and minimally-invasive procedures, taking into account new digital technologies and supporting the clinical results with the most recent scientific evidences. Indeed, Evidenced-Based Medicine (EBM) plays a central role in daily clinical practice, allowing more expert clinicians to make more aware clinical decisions based on high quality scientific research with the aim to maintain the global health of patients. Even in the endodontic field, this approach not only provides more complete endodontists but also establishes the topics of future studies.
