A system for separating amplifiers from wire proportional chambers

A front-end electronics system is described which permits removal of all electronics from multiwire proportional chamber frames and thus optimizes the active to deadspace ratio when such detectors are used in confined spaces. Our solution to the concomitant crosstalk and pickup problems is also detailed.
