Objective To study surgical method of frontalis muscle flap suspension (FMFS) for congenital blepharoptosis and its timing,clinical effects and complications.Methods 24 children (36eyes) with congenital blepharoptosis,performed with FMFS surgery,were analyzed retrospectively.Results 24 cases (36 eyes) were well corrected after surgery,1 of which unwent hemotonma and was cleaned.Sign of mild lagophthalmus,usually existing for a short time,disappeared through 3 - 6 months postoperatively.There were no occurrence of complications such as blepharelosis,ectropion of lid,deformity of palpebral margin or exposure keratitis.Conclusion The method,very easy and effective,could be taken as the first choice for congenital blepharoptosis.
