The COVID-19 pandemic is a valuable lesson and experience for the world community in facing challenges to maintain health and daily life. The psychological and emotional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on family behavior and society in general. Dental and oral health education for children other than mothers is one of the health efforts that can be carried out to increase the knowledge, willingness and skills of children and mothers as a large family in maintaining dental and oral health and hygiene. Explanations need to be given to children and mothers about why and how to maintain healthy teeth and mouth properly. Dental and oral health education delivered in the form of stories through audiovisual media and simulations will be able to create a pleasant learning atmosphere so that it is more effective in attracting attention and facilitating the process of absorbing information by parents, especially children.

Dienes block media assisted by mathematical worksheets to improve student learning outcomes: Teacher action research

The development of science has shifted the process of learning mathematics from previously only involving numbers to numbers that have meaning, one of which is in the form of stories. However, many problems still need to be solved with the concept of addition and subtraction in the form of story problems. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in addition and subtraction material through story problems. This research used the Teacher Action Research (TAR) approach with 14 second-grade students at Ciren Elementary School, Indonesia as participants. This research also used two data collection methods: providing mathematical worksheets and observations carried out by special observers. Data analysis was carried out by looking at the mean student scores, reflecting through FGDs with observers, and filling in observation sheets by the teacher. Furthermore, the results of this research are presented in the form of teacher observation sheet scores and mathematical worksheet work results. The score results on the observation sheet show an increase in scores from learning in cycle 1 to cycle 2. In addition, the average score of students' mathematical worksheets after intervention in the form of dienes block media and mathematical worksheets always increases with pre-cycle details (48), cycle I (80), and cycle II (84). Thus, using dienes block media assisted by mathematical worksheets can have direct implications for improving mathematics learning in addition and subtraction operation material.

The cultural life of kurds according to the writers of foreign travelers in the qajar era (1796-1925)

The increasing number of foreigners entered Iran, especially the Europeans in the 19th Century A.D. enabled them to know more about the Iranian society. Moreover, the writers of Foreign travelers who got interested in the social and cultural issues of Iran about which recorded important information. For example, the Kurds, one of the ancient Iranian tribes, attracted many foreign tourists, especially the Europeans, the Americans, and the Japanese to come to Iran in the Qajar Era. The present study aimed at shedding light on the cultural life of Kurds according to the writers of foreign travelers in the Qajar era depending on the works and observations of those travelers when visited the Kurdish regions in Iran. Hazrat Rumi's Mathnawi has been accepted as a spiritual guide by the sûfîs since the day it was written. Mathnawi, on the one hand, sheds light on the preparation of the reader for the life in the hereafter, and on the other hand, gives important clues about how he should be in an attitude and feeling when faced with worldly tests. In this context, many issues such as separation, illness, death, losses, financial difficulties, problems in human relations are presented to the reader either directly by opening a title or in a scattered form in various stories. Considering the topics in question, one of the most striking points in question is the mention of disease. Accordingly, Hazrat Mawlana discusses subjects like "What is the truth of the disease?", "Why are people tested by the disease?", "What kind of meaning should be attached to the disease?", "What is the condition of the patient in the sight of God?". On the other hand, he emphasized that the main issue was to get rid of spiritual diseases and the temporariness of bodily ailments, and directed attention to the healing of the soul. In this communiqué, the issue of how Hazrat Mawlana evaluates the issue of illness in his Mathnawi and what kind of perspective he offers to the person who is tested by the disease will be discussed. As a matter of fact, a significant majority of people who want to make sense of the severe illnesses they experience today want to receive psychological support, and some of them state that they need spiritual guidance. Design and Develop Interactive Multimedia Applying Problem-Based Learning to Enhance Problem-Solving Skills

Informatics is intricately intertwined with the mastery of problem-solving. Within this discipline, one of the fundamental areas of study revolves around the concepts of branching and looping. During field studies, several student problems were identified, such as difficulty solving programming problems presented in the form of stories. This resulted in a lack of problem-solving skills among students when it comes to story problems. Additionally, there were issues with instructional media and less interactive teaching methods. The aim of this research is to design multimedia that implements a problem-based learning model to enhance students' problem-solving abilities. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The study involved 36 students from class X-B RPL at SMKN 1 Cimahi. The data obtained are as follows: 1) The development of interactive multimedia achieved an average score of 88. 2) There is an increase in students' problem-solving indicators, with an average pretest score of 40.13 rising to 68.38 in the posttest. Additionally, an N-Gain of 0.47 was obtained, with details as follows: understanding the problem at 0.60, devising a plan at 0.41, carrying out the plan at 0.35, and looking back at 0.34. The overall N-Gain falls within the moderate category. 3) The response to the multimedia is 83, categorized as excellent. The N-Gain results and multimedia assessment indicate that both the multimedia and this research achieved good outcomes.

Problems of Income Disparity Based on the Gini Ratio in the Indonesian Economy

Income Disparity is a problem that is still being intensively discussed. This journal aims to provide more in-depth knowledge about the economic system and income disparities in Indonesia. The type of research methodology used is descriptive qualitative. The data used in the research is in the form of literature, news stories and books. The results of the discussion show that the factors causing income disparities include investment, Human Development Index (HDI), labor productivity, economic growth, natural resources, differences in demographic conditions and education levels. The impact of income disparities is extreme poverty, and also endangers social stability and economic growth. The proposed solution involves equal development, equal education levels, equal minimum wages, community empowerment and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

Narrating Loss in James Bradley’s "Clade" (2015); or, Introducing Arrested Narrative in Climate Fiction

In James Bradley’s futuristic novel of climate crises, Clade (2015), characters constructed to evoke empathy and readerly attachment, characters we expect to be further developed narratologically, are prone to sudden, unexpected and unexplained disappearances. The development of cared-for characters is thus ‘arrested’ at the level of narration. For readers, this is disarming and disconcerting. However, we find purpose in such acts of narratorial breakage in cli-fi like Clade. In contemporary stories of climate crises, which project environmental destruction, the loss of habitats and species, and severe disruption to human and nonhuman lives, the arrestation of a character’s development parallels a sense of environmental loss evoked at the level of storied content. Put another way, the sudden disappearance of character-story at the level of form imitates the sudden erasure of species, ecosystems and lived experience in the storyworld of Clade. We call such narratological innovation arrested narrative. In this essay we define and describe the appearance and function of arrested narrative in Clade, in some depth, as well as its emergence in two other novels of climate crises, Megan Hunter’s The End We Start From (2017) and Diane Cook’s The New Wilderness (2020). While investigations into narrative form in stories of the Anthropocene are not new, ecocritical literary scholarship remains largely focussed on story-level content. This examination of the way arrests in narrative discourse parallel environmental ruptures at the level of content, in selected cli-fi, is aimed at contributing to the emerging field of “econarratology” (James), concerned with the study of the workings of both form and content in ecocritical narratives.

THE ACCULTURATION OF KABA IN RANDAI UDA DAN DARA 2022 PEMBUDAYAAN MIGRASI KABA DALAM TEATER RANDAI UDA DAN DARA 2022

Randai is one of the traditional Minangkabau cultures originated from West Sumatra, Indonesia. Characterised by drama, kaba, dance, song and silat. Thus, Randai refers to Minangkabau custom and cultural heritage. Therefore, kaba can be found in the form of stories, songs, rituals, mythologies, and folklores of these communities. Even with the increasing population of the Minangkabau Diaspora, especially in Negeri Sembilan since the early 19th century, randai remains as Minangkabau heritage culture. Hence has adapted some of Malay stories, songs, rituals, mythologies, and folklore of Negeri Sembilan community that has similarities with the story in West Sumatra. The novelty of this paper is to explore the acculturation of kaba in Randai performance, defined as Minangkabau culture, which researchers have not widely studied. The study of acculturation in Minangkabau Kaba has never been published. It is a qualitative approach via content analysis. Rest on the notion of kaba which is defined as a story. The research draws on the concept of acculturation of the story of Uda dan Dara by Usman Awang in Randai Uda dan Dara 2022 performance. The result highlights Uda dan Dara as kaba to a certain extent can be seen as a manifestation of a creative adaptation through the concept of acculturation. Evaluation of the historical reconstruction seen in the short story “Akhenaten, Aten and Religion”

The reconstruction of events that happened in the past can be quite a difficult task, especially when there are lots of factors relating to a certain section in history that cannot be controlled at all. For example, archaeological evidence doesn’t have one specific way of interpretation or simply blanks in history. Historical reconstruction can get even more complicated when historical accounts cannot be validated. These can be misleading to those who read history without the evaluation of sources or without researching archaeological evidence that potentially could disprove certain claims. A good example of this is Akhenaten, a unique figure in Egyptian history. Akhenaten, originally called Amenhotep IV, succeeded his father, Amenhotep III, as the tenth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (Dorman, 2018). He is noted for changing the religion, art, and social structure of Egypt dramatically and founding “Atenism,” a completely new kind of religion that focused on the worship of one single god——Aten, characterized as a solar disc, a creator of lives and the chief god of the universe. Due to the peculiarity of the change and the elimination of elements of Egypt’s traditional social and religious order, after his reign, priests and succeeding rulers restored the traditions, destroying his religious architecture and gradually erasing the heretic king from history (Kemp, 2014). Based on how his successors described him, it can be seen that in later times, he was portrayed as a tyrant or a villainous character. However, modern historiography re-evaluates this claim, leading to a debate about the nature of Akhenaten’s new religion and his reign. This essay presents the basic facts of the period and evaluates the reconstruction of Akhenaten’s reign in the form of a short story, “Akhenaten, Aten and Religion,” and uses archaeological evidence.

Analysis of the Legends of the Siahan and Siregar Hundul-Hundulan Stones

The problem in this research is the intrinsic elements and sociological values of literature contained in the Legend of Batu Hundul-Hundulan Siahaan and Siregar. The legend of Batu Hundul-Hundulan is a form of story owned by the Toba Batak people, specifically those in Huta Nagodang Village, Muara District, North Tapanuli Regency. The arrangement and events that occur in the Legend of Batu Hundul-Hundulan are structured and translated into a story and explore the cultural values in it. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative descriptive method using field techniques. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the intrinsic elements and sociological values of literature in the folklore of Batu Hundul-hundulan Siregar and Siahaan. This article is analyzed by utilizing structural theory along with literary sociology. The results found in this article are the intrinsic elements of the Batu Hundul-hundulan Siregar and Siahaan stories including: theme, plot and setting, character and characterization, point of view, as well as message and moral message. The literary sociological values contained in this story include: Conflict, responsibility, mutual help, cooperation, loyalty, a sense of belonging, caring and trust. Tahapan Implementasi Gerakan Literasi Dalam Menguatkan Keterampilan Critical Thinking Siswa

Literacy movement is one of the important activities to encourage the development of students' thinking patterns. This research aims to explain and describe the stages of implementing the literacy movement in strengthening the critical thinking skills of sixth-grade students at Larangan Badung 1 State Elementary School, Pamekasan Madura. The research method used a qualitative method with a case study design. Data collection techniques: interviews with the school principal, class teachers, and students; then documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques: data condensation, presentation, and verification. Data validity checking with: source and technique triangulation. The results show that the stages include: familiarization by reading for 15 minutes before learning, development by regular visits to the public library, activities such as summarizing, discussions, and group work, application by reading together from teaching materials, digital literacy implementation using laptops and projectors for teaching material delivery, and product stage in the form of short story writing. Supporting factor: students' enthusiasm. Inhibiting factor: students not following instructions. Conclusion: the stages of digital literacy application proceed systematically. Research contribution: to ensure the sustainability and development of literacy movement activities.

‘My open eye’: Souvankham Thammavongsa, Anthony Veasna So and short fiction as minor literature

From the 1980s to the 2000s, contemporary world fiction gained increasing prominence through the maximalist form of the postcolonial novel. More recently, short story collections with postcolonial themes, realist styles and minimalist constraints have gained in prominence, even as patterns of migration entangle the categories of local and global. This article focuses on two recent and acclaimed books, How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa, and Afterparties by Anthony Veasna So, in order to argue that these reflexive, humorous and polyvocal collections provide new and generative iterations of contemporary global fiction through the form of the short story.

Collaborative and meaningful engagement in hybrid learning: Post-pandemic narrative ethnography

Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions have to adapt to a new approach to enable students to engage in remote learning. To ensure a seamless learning experience for students, educational institutions have been adopting a blended or hybrid learning approach. This narrative ethnography explores the dynamics of student engagement within the context of hybrid learning, unveiling a post-pandemic educational landscape. By synthesizing qualitative data in the form of personal stories, this study aims to provide educators, administrators, and policymakers with valuable insights to enhance the quality and inclusivity of hybrid learning experiences in the aftermath of the global pandemic, shedding light on the strategies that foster effective student engagement in a hybrid learning environment. The findings demonstrate that cognitive, social, and emotional engagement in hybrid learning involves collaborative teaching and learning processes necessitating active cooperation between students and teachers to acquire knowledge. In light of the emerging sociocultural dynamics associated with hybrid learning, teachers should be present and embody the desired behavioural patterns for their students. This current study recommends teachers actively collaborate and establish meaningful connections between the subject matter and real-world contexts, issues, and scenarios serving as a model for students’ behaviour.

Messy, entangled, and shapeshifting: Feral Mapping

ABSTRACT This paper introduces the Feral Map, an open online map that brings together different creative practices questioning the dominant extractive, technocentric rendering and legitimising of particular algorithmic futures. Building on its initial development drawn upon open urban tree data, it invites people to explore and engage with their surroundings in creative, unfamiliar ways and share their experiences in the form of stories, using different kinds of media, sensory impressions, and personal expressions. These stories can be offered to existing places and local “creatures” (such as animals, ambiences, and glitches) or become new creatures on their own, emphasising mattering and entanglements: that change is the only constant in life. Through this, the map obscures the currently available – mostly quantitative – data about a place, and can help to raise questions about power, values, and structural inequalities that shape the place and its future. The Feral Map has been evolving to include such stories and creatures – or messy data – from different creative, practice-based research projects. Our paper presents the theoretical framing of the Feral Map and its design, how it has been transforming along with the involved projects, as well as our learnings from the process and possible future directions.

STUDI ANALISIS PESAN DAKWAH DALAM FILM ANIMASI IBRA PADA EPISODE 10 FOMO

Da'wah of Islam develops over time. The elements, materials, and means of da'wah have also developed. Da'wah media are increasingly diverse, including YouTube which allows broadcasts in minutes. Dakwah content on YouTube is an option as entertainment, education and information to replace TV programs that are not always in accordance with religious values. Thus, the animated film Ibra appeared, made by Indonesian children, which raised the Islamic message and the story of the Prophet Muhammad, and gave teachings to all ages. Researchers are interested in Ibra's animated film, especially in episode 10: FOMO on his YouTube account, Ibra Berkisah, because in that episode FOMO is significant in various aspects of Indonesian society: social media, education, social, consumption, religion and can affect behavior change, especially young generation. This study uses qualitative methods with a focus on literature review and a descriptive approach. The human instrument method is also used to determine focus, select relevant data sources, collect, evaluate, analyze, interpret data, and draw conclusions. The researcher analyzed the animated film Ibra episode 10 using the Ferdinand de Saussure Semiotics approach, using visual and audio data as sources. The main objective is to understand and analyze the da'wah messages contained in the animation. The analysis results of Ibra's animation episode 10 FOMO reveal the concept of da'wah conveyed through moral messages and religious values. The delivery of these Islamic values ​​takes the form of stories with moral messages, an introduction to religious teachings, as well as motivation and inspiration that are packaged in a fun and easy-to-understand way, especially for children and adolescents. Semiotic signs, such as linguistic, visual, sound, movement, and expression, strengthen da'wah messages emotionally and cognitively. The results of the analysis in each scene contain various messages that teach mutual forgiveness, the importance of knowledge, tolerance, respect for differences, the dangers of FOMO, and holding on to the truth even when faced with hostility.

Perbandingan Diksi Dalam Cerpen Klasik dan Modern

The aim of this research is to explain the comparison of diction in classical and modern short stories. Short stories, as the name suggests, are short stories, requiring concise storytelling, without going into special details that are more likely to lengthen the story. This type of research is qualitative research because the data is in the form of a description of the comparison of classic and modern short story diction. In a short story, a piece of a character's life is told which is full of conflict, a touching or enjoyable event and contains an impression that is not easily forgotten. According to Muhardi and Hasanuddin WS (1992: 10-11) in novels and short stories both use the reverse highlighting technique. In short stories, flashbacks often deceive readers because they cannot be digested immediately, sometimes readers have to read more than once to make it easier to digest. Meanwhile, in novels the reverse highlighting technique is easier for readers to recognize. Classical and modern short stories are literary works that have differences. This difference can be seen and studied from the way it is distributed, namely that classical short story literary works develop from social culture, but are not bound by customs and modern short story literary works are usually written in books, bloggers and other intermediary media. The conclusion shows that the diction form of Modern Short Stories is more practical in choosing words, more in line with the general understanding of modern readers. Use words that are more current and widely known. And tend to choose classic words, with the use of words that are less common or ancient; Using appropriate diction and language style can develop children's imagination and knowledge of language.

Analisis Kemampuan Penalaran Matematis Siswa dalam Mengerjakan Soal Cerita Materi Kelas VIII SMP

This research is a descriptive research that aims to analyze the level of students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving math problems in the form of stories. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 7 Sungaipuh with the subjects taken, namely class VIII C students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The instrument used is a test of mathematical reasoning ability as many as 4 items and interviews with several students. The results showed that the students' mathematical reasoning abilities at SMP Negeri 7 Sungai Lilin were classified as moderate. students are able to imagine how to solve questions and apply them when answering questions. However, there are still students who are less able to understand the meaning of one of the questions given and indicators of drawing conclusions that are still lacking.

The aim of this research is to describe improving reading ability through picture story books. The research method uses the literary study method. Where the data collection system in this research comes from books or journals which are analyzed based on existing problems. The results of this research indicate that picture story books are effective in improving students' reading skills. This is possible because when reading story books students are very motivated, because story books are a favorite among students in general. So, when the lesson material is changed into the form of a picture story, it really attracts students' attention

Analisis Deiksis Cerpen dalam Buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VIII Kurikulum Merdeka

This research examines deixis in short stories in Buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas XIII Kurikulum Merdeka, which aims to identify and describe deixis, which is divided into personal, place, time, discourse, and social deixis. The method used is a qualitative and pragmatic descriptive approach, with the data source being short stories in the Buku Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VIII Kurikulum Merdeka. The analytical method in this research is the agih method, which uses data in the form of fragments of words and phrases contained in the short story "Kotak Sulap paman Tom and Parki dan Alergi Telur". Data was collected using reading, note-taking, analysis, and classifying techniques based on type. Data analysis was carried out using the Agih method. This research obtained 10 person deixis, 33 time deixis, 13 place deixis, 121 discourse deixis, and 10 social deixis. It is known that discourse deixis is used more often in short stories, with the highest number among other deixis. The benefits of this analysis can be used as a reference regarding deixis and to find out the use of deixis in literary works in the form of short stories.
