Net income, profitability, and price constitute very important cost-accounting categories in the system of the planned economy and are economic instruments for realizing the material incentive principle. To a large extent, the degree to which these categories are objectively and methodologically profoundly elaborated, and the degree to which their content is correctly reflected in the forms of economic management employed, will determine the success of this management and the effect of the entire system of economic accountability.
