Research on the Multilingual Talent Cultivation System Empowered by AI under the New Liberal Arts Context

This paper explores the AI (artificial intelligence) empowerment in foreign language education within the context of “New Liberal Arts” and its impact on a diversified foreign language talent cultivation system. Though challenges brought by AI, AI empowerment could facilitate the foreign language discipline development. Drawing upon this basis, the paper further explores the breakthroughs in foreign language talent cultivation. That suggests a shift from information tools to character education, from language proficiency to core competency strengthening, from single-discipline to interdisciplinary talent cultivation, and from imparting language knowledge to advancing general education understanding. This paper proposes paths for diversified foreign language talent cultivation in the AI era, including AI empowerment character education cultivation approaches, the construction of a diversified curriculum system, the innovation of interdisciplinary curriculum clusters, AI empowerment reshaping of digital teaching practice settings, and AI empowerment reconstruction of foreign language digital teaching resources. With those approaches, the adjusting focus and methods of foreign language talents cultivation, an effective Multilingual Talent Cultivation System will be established with international perspectives, cross-cultural communication skills, and innovation capabilities to meet the development needs of the AI era.

The Challenges and Countermeasures in Integrating Chinese Traditional Culture into English Listening and Speaking Course

Foreign language education involves not only language education but also cultural education. It is the new mission of today’s foreign language education to integrate Chinese traditional culture into foreign language teaching and cultivate foreign language talents who can tell Chinese stories well and spread Chinese voice. As a basic course for English majors, English Listening and Speaking faces many challenges when it is integrated into Chinese traditional culture, such as complex teaching content, limited teaching resources, insufficient teachers’ literacy, and students’ listening and speaking difficulties. In order to solve these problems, teachers and universities should work together to sort out the connotation of Chinese traditional culture, develop audio-visual teaching materials, organize teacher training, and innovate teaching methods, so as to effectively promote the connection between Chinese traditional culture and English Listening and Speaking curriculum system.

Internationalization of Higher Education in China with Spain: Challenges and Complexities

The coronavirus 2019 pandemic has influenced the internationalization of higher education, reflecting its broader impacts on the economic, geopolitical, and technological development of countries. Governments have prioritized the internationalization of higher education post-pandemic to generate income and create a sustainable economy by cultivating foreign language talents. Although there are studies analyzing the internationalization of higher education through the students’ mobility, in our case, there is a scarcity of studies on the internationalization between China and Spain; in particular, Spanish universities lack references to attract more Chinese students. To bridge this gap in the literature, we conducted semi-structured interviews with eight experts in the implementation of internationalization in higher education from four universities in China and Spain. The findings reveal that internationalization is associated with promoting Chinese regional development, and their students can access better quality education. Key motivators for Chinese students in Spain include the improved world ranking of universities and the demand for more courses in English. Although the biggest obstacle to cooperation between both countries is communication, a trusted intermediary could overcome part of this problem. Moreover, the use of new technologies could facilitate sustainable internationalization and regional development.

Research on the deepening application path of blended teaching mode in foreign language teaching in colleges and universities

The digital era has put forward higher requirements for the development of foreign language talents, and the blended teaching mode can precisely play to its advantages, integrate online and offline teaching resources, and cultivate high-quality foreign language talents. The project mainly adopts the questionnaire survey method, combined with the current status quo of foreign language education reform in colleges and universities, and researches the application of blended teaching mode in foreign language teaching in colleges and universities. It analyzes the current situation of the application of blended teaching mode in college foreign language teaching and the existing problems, concludes that strengthening the deepening application of blended teaching mode in college foreign language teaching can effectively improve the teaching effect, and puts forward improvement strategies for the current problems of blended teaching mode.

Research on Pathways for Cultivating Foreign Language Talents in China Under the New Humanities Background

In the context of globalization and informatization, the introduction of the New Humanities concept presents new challenges and opportunities for cultivating foreign language talents in China. This study aims to explore theoretical pathways for foreign language talent cultivation under the New Humanities framework. Through literature review, theoretical analysis, and comparative studies, the core connotations of the New Humanities and their impacts on foreign language talent cultivation are systematically examined. The study first defines the concept of the New Humanities and analyzes its distinctions from traditional humanities, then explores the reconfiguration of objectives, content, methods, and evaluation systems for foreign language talent cultivation under this new framework. The research highlights that the New Humanities emphasize interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, innovative thinking, and practical abilities, necessitating comprehensive reforms in curriculum design, teaching methods, faculty development, and evaluation mechanisms in foreign language education. The conclusion suggests that, under the New Humanities framework, foreign language talent cultivation in China should focus on developing students' global perspectives, cross-cultural communication skills, and innovative thinking, while aligning with international standards to enhance the global competitiveness of foreign language talents. This study offers theoretical support and practical guidance for the reform of foreign language education in China, with significant implications for innovating foreign language talent cultivation models.

基于文化自信的高级英语课程思政策略探究

As an important place to cultivate cultural confidence, colleges and universities should guide students to cultivate cultural consciousness and firm cultural confidence on the basis of foreign language and culture acquisition. In the course of advanced English, the concept of “building morality and cultivating human beings” is integrated into every teaching link by introducing Chinese culture organically in four aspects: vocabulary, background, text content and theme. While cultivating English majors’ cross-cultural communication ability and critical thinking ability, colleges and universities should also enhance their national cultural confidence, thus strengthening their socialist belief and patriotic enthusiasm, making them high-quality foreign language talents with national feelings.

A Study on the Construction of the English Education Ecosystem for the Cultivation of Foreign Language Talents

An Intelligent Model of Mixed Teaching of Business English in Colleges and Universities in the Information Age

Abstract With the rise of foreign trade, various industries have increased the demand for foreign language talents, and colleges and universities have paid more attention to the intelligent teaching of business English. Based on this, this paper proposes a dynamic time regularization recognition algorithm (DTW). It improves the recognition efficiency of the algorithm, preprocesses the speech signal, and selects the feature parameter MFCC. The improved DTW algorithm is used to construct an intelligent mode of mixed teaching of business English in colleges and universities, and the learning effect of the students majoring in business English is calculated and evaluated. The research object of this paper is students majoring in business English at college C and is conducted by conducting experimental research on their oral learning, article writing ability, and learning attitude. From the results of oral teaching, the coefficient of variation P-values before and after the application of each group are 0.000, 0.002 and 0.000 respectively, which are all less than 0.05, indicating that students with different English fundamentals have a more significant effect of improving their performance after applying the mixed teaching mode. Before the application, the average score for article writing increased from 59.67 to 64.50. In terms of affective attitude and value, the learning interest risen from 2.75 to 2.97, with the most significant improvement Thus, it can be seen that the intelligent hybrid teaching mode constructed in this paper can effectively improve the teaching effect of business English in colleges and universities.

Path to Success for College English Majors: Reflection Based on the Investigation

With the rapid popularization of intelligent technology, the employment of English majors was facing more and more challenges. Both students and parents were confused about the narrow employment of foreign language majors. In this sense, foreign language majors in colleges and universities should not only focus on language learning and research, but also focus on language as a tool to engage in other professional learning or practice activities with a higher degree of internationalization. This study will interview college English majors through questionnaires to investigate their understanding of English major goals, their future career planning, and their suggestions on school curriculum setting and teaching methods. This study believes that the cultivation of college foreign language talents should make necessary adjustments according to the talent needs of the current environment, innovate the teaching model and teaching method to adapt to the constantly changing society, enhance the interdisciplinary consciousness, and pave the way for the success of students, which has practical significance for the success and development of English majors. At the same time, it helps to cultivate practical and applied talents under the current environment.

Study on the Cultivation of Cognitive Strategies for Junior High School Students from the Perspective of “Viewing” Ability

The English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition) lists viewing as an equally important skill as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, which is not only in line with the development trend of the digital media era, but also an objective requirement for the cultivation of foreign language talents in the future. At the same time, cognitive strategies help students adopt appropriate learning methods, techniques, and techniques to process language information and improve learning efficiency. The cultivation of cognitive strategies has a direct impact on students’ learning. 基于KUD 模式的英美文学教学研究

The changes in the demands of foreign language talents caused by the development of the times are in contradiction with the unchanged teaching pattern of British and American literature teaching, which causes this course to be marginalized gradually and leads to the decreased sense of fulfillment of both students and teachers. However, in the New Arts construction and the course philosophy construction, the importance of this course is explicitly highlighted. Therefore, the course of foreign literature for English majors needs reformation urgently. KUD pattern is important part of Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction and contends setting teaching objectives of three levels: K (knowledge), U (understanding), and D (doing) to govern the whole teaching plan. KUD pattern can grant foreign literature course for English majors clear teaching objectives, enabling the teaching experiences centered on students and contributing to the course philosophy teaching and evaluation.

“LTCI” Mode Enables the Construction of Maker Teams of Foreign Language Majors of Application-Oriented Universities

From the perspective of “Learning, Training, Competition and Innovation” (LTCI) mode, this paper focuses on the construction of maker teams of foreign language majors of Baoding University, one of the typical application-oriented universities in Hebei province, China. It first introduces the background of the study, indicating the importance of carrying out innovation and entrepreneurship education, and the value of “LTCI” mode. Then a review of the literature shows the need for this study. After that, the paper analyzes the status quo of the foreign language maker teams at Baoding University. Based on the existing problems, the researcher proposes the framework and implementation plan on the construction of maker teams of foreign language majors with “LTCI” involvement. It is expected that the research will promote the innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities of the foreign language maker teams, and enhance the output of innovative foreign language talents.

A Study on Integrating Cultural Signs of “Global Village” into Cultivating Chinese English Major Students’ Foreign Language Competence with the Vision of Global Community of Shared Future

The fundamental task of cultivating foreign language talents in the new era is to cultivate talents. English major students are supposed to have solid Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge, to be able to skillfully apply language teaching skills related to foreign languages, and have the competence to adopt foreign languages for cross-cultural communication. Thus, they are prepared to possess the comprehensive language competence constituted mainly by the broad vision, international consciousness, global village outlook, and cross-culture consciousness and competence, etc. which will necessarily help them to actively and effectively participate in international communication and eventually dedicate themselves to constructing a global community with a shared future for mankind, which essentially makes up the core of cross-cultural competence.

Analysis of College English Reading Teaching from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

With the development of globalization and the surging demand for foreign language talents, it is particularly significant to foster intercultural communicative awareness and enhance intercultural communicative competence. Undoubtedly, English reading serves as a crucial part of English learning, and improving the ability of English reading is also one of the important ways to cultivate students' cross-cultural communicative competence. However, both linguistic and non-linguistic differences between Chinese and English create cross-cultural barriers to English reading. Therefore, this paper probes into the training strategies for college English reading ability from the perspective of cross-cultural communication, so as to better train college students' cross-cultural English reading ability and further improve the teaching level of college English reading. All in all, this paper has indicated that teachers should not only introduce some cultural context to learners, but also help build up their cross-cultural awareness in foreign language teaching. Only by combining these two steps mentioned above can the purpose of cross-cultural communication be exactly achieved.
