The present work focuses on the investigation of the couple stress nanofluid flow with the inclined magnetic field, heat, and mass transform effect. Entropy Generation Analysis in Magnetohydrodynamic Couple Stress Nanofluid Flow Through an Oblique Microchannel in a Permeable Medium with Thermal Radiation

The present work examines the flow and thermal energy process in conducting couple stress nanofluid flows through an oblique microchannel. The microchannel is embedded with permeable medium and thermal radiation is implemented. The microchannel boundaries retain the slip boundary conditions. The impact of buoyancy force and magnetic field are incorporated. The temperature dependent heat source effect was also taken into account. The momentum equation has been made by the permeability of the porous medium. The equations are modeled and non-dimensionalized using non-dimensional entities and further solved with the aid of the Runge-Kutta Fehlberg method and the shooting procedure. The detailed discussions about the importance of the effective parameters on entropy generation, the Bejan number have been observed through graphs. The findings of the examination depict that rise in radiation parameter augments the entropy generation and the Bejan number in the channel. AbstractThis study involvesthe numerical modeling of steady thermal radiation and chemical reaction on non‐Newtonian fluid motion via a bidirectional stretching surface. We have taken convective boundary conditions, and heat sources on the stretching surface. The working fluid of the present study is Casson fluid (“non‐Newtonian”) with couple stress. The self‐similarity forms of the nonlinear thermal radiative flow model are obtained by using similarity variables. Furthermore, the numerical results are computed with the help of fourth‐order Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg method with a shooting algorithm after reducing nonlinear partial differential equations have been translated into strong ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Impacts of the various flow physical parameters especially Biot number, nonlinear thermal radiation, and heat source parameters containing nonlinear ODEs are discussed in detail for distinct numerical values. A comparison of calculated results with the known numerical results made with the previously published literature is mentioned and obtained a good agreement. Finally, we found that the (“coefficient of skin friction”) declines along directions, respectively, with via while the opposite direction follows with respect to and the (“heat transfer rate”), (“mass transfer rate”) increase with via while opposite direction follows with respect to .

Analysis of couple stress nanofluid flow under convective condition in the temperature‐dependent fluid properties and Lorentz forces

AbstractIn recent years, a great deal of interest has been generated in modern micro‐ and nanotechnologies for micro/nano‐electronic devices. These technologies are increasingly utilizing sophisticated fluid media to enhance performance. Among the new trends is the simultaneous adoption of nanofluids and biological micro‐organisms. Motivated by bio‐nanofluid vertical channel oxygenators in medical engineering, in the current work, a mathematical model is developed to examine the flow of mixed convective couple‐stress nanofluids in a vertical channel with a transverse magnetic field, fluid viscosity that changes with temperature, and thermal conductivity. The non‐Newtonian model follows Brownian motion and heat spread by nanoparticles in a fluid under coupled stress. Highly linked, nonlinear regulating equations are translated into nondimensional equations using relevant variables. The governing equations are then turned into a form with no dimensions. The Keller‐box technique, a second‐order finite difference method for solving second‐order equations, is used to solve them numerically. On the other hand, the effects of different non‐Newtonian flow parameters, such as the couple stress fluid parameter, the magnetic parameter, the variable fluid viscosity, the variable thermal conductivity parameters, the Brinkman number, the nanofluid and buoyancy parameters, and the rate of chemical reaction parameter, are carefully studied. The velocity, temperature, and concentration fields are calculated over a wide range of possible values for the relevant parameters.

Additionally, the Darcy–Forchheimer applications, nonuniform heat source and nonlinear thermal radiation effects are considered. The modification in the concentration equation is done by activation energy. The independent variables in the defined flow system are decreased via suitable variables. The computation is simulated using the homotopy analysis method. It is noticed that the magnitude of velocity periodically decreases for larger values of suction parameter and inertia coefficient. The presence of an external heat source parameter enhanced the temperature profile. Moreover, the increment in the suction parameter improves the heat and mass transfer rate.

Mathematical modeling of electrothermal couple stress nanofluid flow and entropy in a porous microchannel under injection process

We examine the effects of ion diffusion coefficient on steady electroosmotic couple stress nanofluid flow and heat transfer in a porous microchannel bounded by two permeable beds. The study considers the nanofluid injection process through porous beds. The combined effects of ion diffusivity and injected nanofluid velocity on EDL (Electric double layer) thickness are analytically expressed. The differential transform method (DTM) is used to solve the flow equations. The DTM solution is then compared with the exact analytical solution of velocity, Zeta potential function and a square averaged residual analysis is conducted. These comparisons show excellent matching. We observe that the enhancement of ion diffusion coefficient increases nanofluid velocity at the edge of EDL but diminishes with intrinsic couple stress. The bulk nanofluid flow rate is found to follow a quadratic like relationship with the couple stress parameter. We have investigated the nanofluid temperature and nanoparticle concentration distribution in microchannel for variations of the diffusive Reynolds number, porous permeability parameter and couple stress parameter. The nanofluid temperature is found to increase with an enhancement of ion diffusion coefficient, which is related with experimental results observed by Kong et al. (Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 19 (2017) 7678) for NaCl electrolyte solution confined in a graphene nanochannel. Moreover, the nanofluid temperature decreases with enhancement of both porous permeability of the medium and couple stress parameter.

The outcomes reveal that the temperature rises with the magnifying viscous dissipation, Brownian motion, and thermophoresis parameters, whereas the opposite trend can be seen with an escalation in the couple stress parameter. Heat transfer rate is an accelerating function of Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameters while it is a decelerating function of couple stress parameter and Hartmann number. Mass transfer rate declines with increasing values of thermophoresis parameter and Lewis number.

AbstractGold nanoparticles associated with DNA, RNA, proteins, oligonucleotides, and peptides are useful in therapies and drug delivery. The present article mainatins that gold nanoparticles play a tremendous role in remedying cancer and fatal diseases. A mathematical model is proposed for the two‐dimensional motion of the couple stress nanofluid consisting of gold nanoparticles under the application of peristaltic propulsion and electroosmosis mechanisms in an asymmetric microchannel. The effects of radiation with slip boundary have been employed. The governing equations are simplified under the assumptions of low Reynolds number and long wavelength and the Poisson‐Boltzmann equation is solved under Debye–Hückel linearization. Analytical solutions for the velocity of fluid motion, nanoparticle temperature, stream function, pressure gradient, are evaluated and analyzed graphically under the effects of various physical parameters. It is notable from the analysis that raising the Brinkman number boosts the nanoparticle temperature and heat transfer coefficient which validate the physical model and analysis. Moreover, it is noticed that sphere‐shaped gold nanoparticles enhance the temperature as compared to other geometries of nanoparticles. The present study results may assist in developing the technology, smart micropumps, drugs, and device for hemodialysis and other health care applications.

A closed-form solution is achieved of nonlinear differential equations subject to Newton’s boundary conditions. Moreover, the current findings are compared with previous outcomes for the limiting case and found a complete coherence. Parametric study reveals that nanoflow is resisted by employing Newton’s boundary conditions. Thermal profile enhancement is contributed by the viscous dissipation parameter. Finally, one infers that hemodynamic flow of non-Newtonian fluid is an effective mode of heat and mass transfer especially, in medical sciences for the rapid transport of medicines in drug therapy.

A mathematical model has been established to study the effect of heat source on magnetohydrodynamic 3D chemically reacting couple stress nanofluid flow generated due to the stretching surface. The flow of the fluid in this analysis is controlled by the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis force on the temperature and concentration boundary. Zero nanoparticle mass flux condition is employed at the surface, which specifies that the nanoparticles fraction are submissively measured. Joule Heating and Dissipation Effects on Magnetohydrodynamic Couple Stress Nanofluid Flow over a Bidirectional Stretching Surface

This work examines the effects of non-linear thermal radiation and Joule heating on MHD three-dimensional visco-elastic nanofluid flow due to a surface stretching in lateral directions. A coupled nonlinear differential system is generated from the boundary layer equations by using self-similarity variables and is then solved numerically by using most powerful shooting technique with Runge Kutta method of fourth order. The computational results for the flow variables are plotted graphically and are discussed in detail for various governing parameters that emerged in the analysis. It is observed that the momentum of the visco elastic nanofluid is better than that of a viscous fluid. Thicker thermal and concentration boundary layers are formed for increasing nonlinear thermal radiation and temperature ratio parameters. Also the results are in very good agreement with the outcomes available in the literature as a particular case. This model may play a significant role in the field of manufacturing and engineering applications.

Micropolar Couple Stress Nanofluid Flow by Non-Fourier’s-Law Heat Flux Model past a Stretching Sheet

In this investigation, thermal radiation effect on MHD nonlinear convective micropolar couple stress nanofluid flow by non-Fourier’s-law heat flux model past a stretching sheet with the effects of diffusion-thermo, thermal-diffusion, and first-order chemical reaction rate is reported. The robust numerical method called the Galerkin finite element method is applied to solve the proposed fluid model. We applied grid-invariance test to approve the convergence of the series solution. The effect of the various pertinent variables on velocity, angular velocity, temperature, concentration, local skin friction, local wall couple stress, local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number is analyzed in both graphical and tabular forms. The result obtained in this study is compared with that in the available literatures to confirm the validity of the present numerical method. Our result shows that the heat and mass transfer in the flow region of micropolar couple stress fluid can be enhanced by boosting the radiation parameters.

Numerical analysis is performed for magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) couple stress nanofluid flow over a stretching sheet with melting and nonlinear radiation. The current exertion discloses unsteady three-dimensional chemically reactive couple stress nanofluid flow induced by bidirectional oscillatory stretching surface. The heat transfer analysis is explored by utilizing heat generation/absorption and thermal radiation features. Additionally, the mixed convection and magnetic effects are also encountered as novelty. The flow has been generated by bidirectional periodically accelerated surface. Apposite transformations are engaged to reduce formulated nonlinear problem into dimensionless form, and then analytic series solution is computed via homotopic technique. The physical aspect of involved flow parameters is graphically entertained. A complete graphical investigation for profiles of dimensionless velocities, temperature, concentration and skin friction coefficients is deliberated for various prominent flow parameters. AbstractThis project mainly concentrates on the numerical investigation of the Hall and Ion impact on couple stress nanofluid flow through an inclined microchannel considering the hydraulic slip and convective boundary conditions in the presence of radiative heat flux. The analysis has been made via assuming that the fluid is incompressible, electrically conducting, and viscous. The parameters of couple stress, convection, and heat generation have been employed. Different water‐based nanofluids containing , and are taken into account. To reduce the nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations, suitable nondimensional variables are applied to the governing equations. Then, this system is solved numerically utilizing the Runge‐Kutta‐Fehlberg fourth‐fifth‐order method along with the shooting technique. Maple software was employed to get numerical solutions. The results found that the fluid velocity is retarded for larger estimations of the Hall and Ion parameter. The drag force and the Nusselt number are diminished for higher estimations of the nanoparticle volume fraction and Brinkman number, respectively. Furthermore, it is noted that the nanoparticles have a maximum heat transfer rate as compared with the oxides of nanoparticles. The obtained results are compared with existing ones in a limiting case, and provide good agreement.
