Peningkatan Pendapatan Masyarakat Dengan Program Inovasi Desa Melalui Pengolahan Limbah Ikan Curah

The purpose of this community service is to test and train the community on the technology of making high protein fish feed pellets from trash fish waste which is useful for reducing the high purchase of fish feed on the market. Therefore, the need for a technology or innovation for the manufacture of fish feed in the community, especially areas where there is fish farming and is expected to reduce the high cost of purchasing feed. The method consists of presentations or training, mentoring and discussions, as well as analysis of business benefits. Members of the catfish breeding partners are mostly aged between 18 to 68 years, have elementary, junior high and high school education. The raw materials for the waste are 5 kg of dry trash fish, 100 g of tapioca flour/0.1 kg, 4.9 kg of rice bran and 1 l of diesel oil and plastic, so you can get up to 8 kg of fish pellets. with the cost required is IDR 39,050 Gross income IDR. 72,000 and a profit of Rp. 32,950. Comparing the benefits and costs incurred is IDR 32,950.00 :I DR 39,050.00 = 0.8 (B/C). Therefore, the fish pellet business is very profitable to develop and can increase the income of the Jati Emas villagers.

Effect of Water Hyacinth Leaf Flour (Eichhornia crassipes) Fermented by Aspergillus niger on the Growth, Survival Rate and Blood Profile of Sangkuriang Catfish (Clarias gariepinus)

Catfish sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) is one of the aquaculture commodities with great potential to be developed in Indonesia to support the demand for feed. Efforts to reduce dependence on imported feed raw materials for fish feed is continued. Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crasspies) leaf which contains phytochemical compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, steroids and saponins is an alternatif raw material for fish pellet component. This study aimed to determine the addition of fermented water hyacinth leaf meal in fish feed on the growth, survival rate, and blood profile of sangkuriang catfish. In total 150 fish (Average initial weight 5.45 ± 0.02 g) were randomly divided into triplicates of five groups, containing 10 fishes per group. Group one is a control group, P1 (10% of non fermented water hyacinth leaf meal), while P2, P3 and P4 were treatment groups of fish fed with 10 , 15, and 20% fermented water hyacinth leaf meal by Aspergillus niger. At the end of the 42 days of treatment, growth, survival rate, and blood profile of all fish were determined. The results showed that the addition of 10% water hyacinth leaf meal fermented by Aspergillus niger had an effect on the growth of final weight, body weight gain and spesific growth rate (p 0.05) in comparison to all groups. However, the addition of any concentration of water hyacinth leaf meal did not affect on the feed conversion ratio and survival rate value. Further, the addition of water hyacinth leaf meal had a significant effect (p 0.05) on the erythrocytes, leukocytes and hemoglobin of fish, but did not show a significant effect on the values of hematocrit and platelets.

DECISION TREE SIMPLIFICATION THROUGH FEATURE SELECTION APPROACH IN SELECTING FISH FEED SELLERS

Feed is a crucial variable because it can determine the success of fish farming. Breeders can use two types of artificial feed, namely alternative feed and pellets. Many cultivators need pellets as the main consumption for the fish they are cultivating because the pellets contain a composition that has been adjusted to their needs based on the type and age of the fish. However, currently, cultivators are facing a problem, namely the high price of fish pellets on the market. Therefore, an analysis of the classification of the selection of fish feed sellers is needed that is adjusted to several criteria like the number of types of feed, price, order, delivery, and availability of discounts. This study conducted a classification analysis of simplification of characteristics in selecting fish feed sellers in Kendal Regency that would then be compared with a model without feature selection by utilizing the Decision Tree C4.5 method. The results of this study are the decision tree with the best performance where C4.5 with the application of the selected feature has an accuracy value of 92%, while C4.5 without the selection feature has an accuracy of 86.8%. The results of this study indicate that the C4.5 method with the application of selection features is better than C4.5 without selection features so that it can be applied to the selection of freshwater fish feed sellers in Kendal Regency.

Numerical Simulation and Analysis of Feeding Uniformity of Viscous Miscellaneous Fish Bait Based on EDEM Software

The feeding characteristics of viscous miscellaneous fish bait were studied in order to place the bait into existing equipment. Through the feeding experiment and discrete element numerical simulation of miscellaneous fish pellet feed, the feeding characteristics of the sticky miscellaneous fish pellet feed in the silo were analyzed. The main factors affecting the uniform feeding of miscellaneous fish pellet bait were obtained, including the size of the feeding mouth of the silo, the size of the inclination angle of the silo, and the effect of external forces. According to the simulation and experiment results, the optimum design of the discharging device was carried out, including the optimization of the structure of the bin, the design of the agitation device and the optimization of the rotating parameters of the agitation device. The research and development of the stirred discharging device was completed, realizing the uniform, continuous and complete discharging of the mixed fish particle bait. Its feasibility was verified through the simulation and prototype experiment.

PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH ORGANIK PASAR SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKU PELET DENGAN PRETREATMENT SECARA FERMENTASI ANAEROB

Processing market waste into feed can increase the added value of waste. Market waste consisting of vegetables and animals still contains nutrients that are beneficial for livestock and fish as an alternative or main feed. Utilization of market waste into fish pellets needs to be studied with a fermentation process with variations in fermentation time of 2-6 days, molasses content (5%, 10% and 15%) and animal and vegetable composition (1:1, 2:3 and 3:1) on crude protein and feed quality. The process of making feed by mixing market waste materials and a fermentation and flouring process will be carried out to obtain uniform pellets in printing. Protein test will be carried out using the Kjedhal method as crude protein content. Based on the results of buoyancy for more than 6 minutes, pellets with a composition of 50% fish offal had the best quality compared to other variations with a protein content of 32.48%.

AIoT Precision Feeding Management System

Different fish species and different growth stages require different amounts of fish pellets. Excessive fish pellets increase the cost of aquaculture, and the leftover fish pellets sink to the bottom of the fish farm. This causes water pollution in the fish farm. Weather changes and providing too many or too little fish pellets affect the growth of the fish. In light of the abovementioned factors, this article uses the artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) precision feeding management system to improve an existing fish feeder. The AIoT precision feeding management system is placed on the water surface of the breeding pond to measure the water surface fluctuations in the area of fish pellet application. The buoy, with s built-in three-axis accelerometer, senses the water surface fluctuations when the fish are foraging. Then, through the wireless transmission module, the data are sent back to the receiver and control device of the fish feeder. When the fish feeder receives the signal, it judges the returned value to adjust the feeding time. Through this system, the intelligent feeding of fish can be achieved by adjusting the amount of fish pellets in order to reduce the cost of aquaculture.

Implementation of two-function fish pellet machine for empowerment of fish cultivator group Gelondoro Sidoarjo

In the post-Covid-19 pandemic, the Gelondoro fish cultivator group, Jabon Sidoarjo District, had difficulties meeting fish feed pellets' needs. This difficulty is caused by the increase in the price of fish feed pellets; both groups of fish cultivators have very little knowledge of making fish feed pellets. The purpose of this community service activity is to empower the Gelondoro farmer group to produce fish feed pellets independently to meet their needs without depending on factory feed. The method used in this community service activity is to provide socialization regarding the formulation of fish feed pellets with high protein. The second is to provide a fish feed pellet machine with two functions: mixing and printing in one tool. The third demonstrates the manufacture of fish feed pellets. The result of this community service activity is that Gelondoro fish cultivators have known the formulation of a mixture of making fish pellets as well as practicing how to make fish feed pellets using a two-function fish pellet printing machine.

Aplikasi Teknologi Floating Catfish Pellet Sebagai Solusi Pemanfaatan Larva Black Soldier Fly di Mitra Usaha Mazgot BSF Boyolali

<p><strong>Application of Floating Catfish Pellet Technology as a Solution for Utilizing Black Soldier Fly Larvae at Mazgot BSF Boyolali Business Partners</strong>. The black soldier fly (BSF) raised by a business partner Mazgot BSF Boyolali is an effort that exists to solve the problem of organic waste. However, the high production of BSF maggots has become a challenge for partners to find alternative ways to take advantage of the maggot. The application of feed technology based on BSF maggot can increase business productivity because BSF raising is not only aid for overcoming the problem of organic waste, but it can be used as a source of feed ingredients as well. The purpose of the service activity is to provide assistance in the application of fish pellet feed technology (floating fish pellet) as a solution to the use of BSF maggot. This activity was conducted by giving a mentoring of feed technology application based on BSF maggots including selection of raw feed materials, feed processing, and physical measurement of feed as well. The result of this activity showed that partners are able to formulate fish pellet based on available feed ingredients approach to the chemical content of feed ingredients and fish nutrient needs. The content of fish feed has complied with the SNI for catfish feed including crude protein 35.25%; crude fat 13.94%; crude fiber 6.37%; ash 11.43%; BETN 26.26%; and 1409.58 kcal/kg energy. The resulting physical quality is also categorized as good including buoyancy reaching 1 – 2 hours and good stability.</p>

Analisa Kebutuhan Daya Mesin Pencetak Pelet Kapasitas 40 Kg/Jam

The problem faced by (our partners) fish farmers in Bangkok village is the high price and high demand for fish feed. This has resulted in fish cultivators in the village of Bangkok often experiencing losses in terms of time and energy. The fish cultivators there do not yet know how to make fish pellets independently, this is due to the high price of buying a pellet molding machine in the market and fish cultivators do not yet know the technology to design their own pellet printing machine. With the existing problems, the author and the team designed a fish pellet printing device and made sure that the tool used as little power as possible to help make it easier for fish farmers there. Fish pellet printing machine made using an electric motor with a rotation of 1400 rpm and a power of 1.5 HP, using a 1:40 ratio gearbox and found reduction data from a 35 rpm gear box, 12 rpm mixer and 12 rpm pellet printer. This machine is designed to produce 40 kg/hour.

Indonesia is the second most biodiverse country after Brazil in Latin America. However, in the fisheries sector, Indonesia can be called the first richest country. There are approximately 2,000 species of fish found in Indonesian waters. Dumbo catfish (Clarias gariepinus) is one type of freshwater fish that is busy being cultivated by people in Indonesia, especially in the province of East Java, especially in Bangkok Village, Gurah District, Kediri Regency. Problems that often occur in fish farming are feed and complain about the high price of commercial feed so that freshwater fish cultivators can spend about 60-70% of the total cost required for cultivation. After reviewing the problems faced by catfish cultivators, the researchers have a solution for these problems, namely by designing a fish feed printing device with a screw press mechanism with a capacity of 40 kg/hour. In this design process, the method used is the design and development method. Based on the test results from the design of the fish pellet extruder machine with a capacity of 40 kg/hour, it can be concluded with a pellet molding machine with a variety of die (mold) with a diameter of 2 mm and 4 mm, the material is made of iron plate with a thickness of 1.8 mm. For driving the cutting blades using an electric motor with a power of 1.5 and a rotation of 1400 rpm with a rotation of 360º. The cutting knife uses stainless steel with a thickness of 0.8 mm. And the results of the machine test with a printed capacity is 39.83 kg/hour.

Fish is a food ingredient that is widely consumed by Indonesian people. The preferred type of fish is catfish. The problem often experienced by fish cultivators is during the manual feeding process. Fish feed container that serves as a storage place for pellets on the ejector for the automatic feeding process, this container has many types but the one used in this tool is aluminum. Besides being cheap, aluminum also has the properties of being light, soft, easy to shape and anti-rust even when exposed to water. The corrosion resistance of aluminum results from the passivation phenomenon, namely the formation of an aluminum oxide layer when aluminum is directly exposed to the outside air. In this design and research, the material used is pure aluminum which contains 99% aluminum and a few other alloys. This aluminum has a thickness of 1 mm, the tensile strength of pure aluminum is 90 MPa, for aluminum alloys 600 MPa. There are two shapes used in the design of this container, namely tubes and cones, for the dimensions used are 40 cm in diameter, 26 cm in height for the tube while the cone has a height of 25 cm. So the overall height of the fish pellet container is 51 cm. From this size, a capacity of 12 kg of fish pellets was obtained.

Preconditioner influence on twin-screw extrusion cooking of starch-based feed pellets: The example of Fish Feed

This work compares the performance of pellets for adult Trout obtained in two different processing conditions. The first one consists of adopting the traditional Fish Feed process based on a preconditioning steam treatment step before twin-screw extrusion. The second one was a simplified process based only on a twin-extruder ensuring both the cooking and the extrusion of fish pellets in a single step. Six formulations were obtained while maintaining feed specifications (36 % of proteins and 30 % of lipids). The comparison between the two processing methodologies (i.e., with or without preconditioning) was then based on two fundamental aspects. Firstly, the gelatinization rate of starch contained inside pellets was determined. Secondly, the pellet’s characteristics (bulk density, expansion ratio, diameter and pellet’s porosity) and their usage properties (oil leakage rate, durability, hardness and floatability) were evaluated. The present work has evidenced that it is possible to produce pellets without preconditioning while ensuring a total starch gelatinization and maintaining their usage properties. The Fish Feed process has thus been partially simplified.

EFFECTS OF BIOFLOC AND PHOTOPERIOD MANIPULATION COMBINATION ON BLOOD STRUCTURE OF Pangasianodon hypophthalmus

Pangasianodon hypopthalmus can be reared under biofloc system and short photoperiod. To understand the effect of biofloc system and photoperiod manipulation to wards blood structure of P. hypopthalmus a study was conducted on September to December 2020. This experiment using a factorial CRD design with 2 level for B factor (biofloc and no biofloc), 3 level for P factor (Natural, 18 hours dark, 24 hours dark), 3 repetition. The fish was reared in 110L tank, 30 fishes/tank, fed with fish pellet (FF-999, Provit 781-1 and Provit 781-2). Parameters measured were the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, the level of hematocrit and leukocrite and leukocyte types. The blood was collected using syringe wetted with EDTA 10%. The number of blood cells was calculated using haemocytometer, while the white blood cells were stained using Giemsa solution and checked under a binocular microscope. Results shown that there is no different blood structure in fish of all treatments. Total erythrocytes are 1,681,111-2,647,777 cell/mm3, total leukocytes are 55.031-55.655 cell/mm3, hematocrit 20.33-38.11% and leukocrite 20.33-38.11%. White corpuscle are basophil 00-3.89%, eosinophils 0-3.67%, lymphocytes 26.67-73.89%, trombosit 1-48.89%, monocytes 13.33-30.22% and neutrophill 0.00-9.22%. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the biofloc system and photoperiod manipulation combination do not negatively affects the fish hematology.

Nutritional Performance of Juvenile Red Drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) Fed Various Fish, Shrimp, and Squid Diets

Aquaculture is the fastest-growing sector of protein production in the world. Due to the rising costs of fishmeal used as a critical ingredient to make pelleted fish feed, the industry is moving to replace fishmeal as a primary protein source without reducing the growth rate of aquacultured fish. A 12-week feeding trial utilizing juvenile red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) was conducted to determine the performance of various combinations of natural diet components including fish (Decapterus punctatus), shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), and squid (Loligo opalescens and Illex), in addition to a commercial fishmeal-based pelleted feed, fed isocalorically to identify if there is an optimal combination for red drum growth and health. These results can provide information to develop fishmeal replacement diets (FMRDs) that can more closely mimic the performance of natural diets. Traditional aquaculture metrics showed that fish fed the diet comprised only of fish had the highest specific growth rate, condition factor, and protein conversion efficiency, with the lowest feed conversion ratio, indicating the fish component was the highest performing component for red drum growth on a calorically fixed ration. There were significant differences among eight groups found for traditional aquaculture metrics ( p < 0.05 ). The commercial pelleted feed performed better than all but the fish only natural diet treatments in terms of growth on a fixed ration, which indicated that it is nutritionally balanced. The results of this study show that there were performance differences between juvenile red drum fed various natural diets. There has been an investigation into the metabolome of these fish to identify potential metabolites for supplementation into FMRDs, which is not addressed in this paper.

Intracellular production of recombinant GnRH1 in yeast, Pichia pastoris, and its potential as oral treatment to advance gonadal development in juvenile orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides

Late maturation and large size at maturity are significant challenges when administering hormonal treatments in captive broodstock. Here, we report the potential of yeast, Pichia pastoris, as a vehicle to orally deliver a recombinant gonadotropin-releasing hormone (rGnRH1) aimed at stimulating gonadal development in juvenile orange-spotted grouper, Epinephelus coioides. Two recombinant GnRH1 constructs were designed utilizing pPIC3.5, the yeast expression vector lacking a signal sequence, hence retaining the recombinant within the yeast. The first construct (rGnRH1_1xGAP) comprised of GnRH1 decapeptide and the GnRH-associated peptide (GAP) separated by a cleavage site. The second construct (rGnRH1_10x) consisted of ten GnRH1 decapeptides, each separated by a cleavage site. Expression of the two recombinant peptides was confirmed by mass spectrometry. ELISA for the GnRH analogue (GnRHa) was validated to determine the level of rGnRH1 from the yeast extracts. Parallelism between the serially diluted GnRHa and serially diluted extracts from recombinant yeast confirmed validity of the assay. A luciferase reporter assay showed stimulation of tilapia GnRH type 3 receptor by the yeast extract, suggesting biological activity in vitro. In a short term experiment, lyophilised yeast loaded in gelatine capsules and fed once to juvenile orange-spotted grouper resulted in a significantly higher plasma GnRH compared with the control. In a 4-week experiment, lyophilized yeast containing either rGnRH1_1xGAP or rGnRH1_10x was incorporated in fish pellets and fed daily at a dose of 1 μg rGnRH1/kg fish body weight/day. The mean gonadosomatic index and oocyte diameter did not vary between the treated and control fish. The mean plasma levels of FSH, LH and GnRH in the rGnRH1-fed and control fish did not also vary significantly, however there were individuals in the rGnRH1-fed groups that had increased level of the hormones. Together with histological evidence showing oocyte development in a proportion of fish fed with the recombinant, results of the present study point to a biological activity in vivo of the rGnRH1 in yeast. With further refinement, this technology has the potential to provide a non-invasive method for broodstock management of large, late-maturing species of fish and of small, delicate endangered species that require breeding in captivity.

Producing feed protein by bioconversion of domestic and industrial organic solid wastes using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae

The bioconversion of organic solid waste utilizing Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae was used to reduce the unstable domestic supply of feed protein in Indonesia due to currency change dynamics. BSF larvae are a well-known bioconversion agent capable of producing high protein content in their body mass. Therefore, this research aims to conduct a small-scale bioconversion process of domestic and industrial organic solid wastes to produce dry BSF larvae as a protein source for chicken and fish culture. The research was held at Bogor, Indonesia, from March-June 2021, where organic solid waste from a restaurant was bioconverted by BSF larvae in a biopond. After two weeks, the BSF larvae were harvested, dried, and milled to produce the powder. Based on SNI 7548:2009, the quality of pellets from BSF larvae and pupae was appropriate, except for the parameters of fat content in pellet A and water and ash content in pellet B. The results showed that fish pellets mixed with 20% protein flour affected the weight growth of Pangasius sp. Furthermore, when dried BSF larvae powder was applied to one-day-old chickens, they grew somewhat quicker than the standard feed menu. Therefore, organic solid waste, when appropriately managed, produces feed protein.

Molecular fish sexing on Kohaku Koi (Cyprinus carpio) based on ArS.9-15 gene amplification by PCR method

This study aims to sex determine on Kohaku Koi fish rapidly, precisely, accurately, and as early as possible based on the amplification of the ArS.9-15 gene using the PCR method. This study began with the maintenance of 10 Kohaku Koi fish, obtained from Koi fish farmers in the Sleman area in Yogyakarta. The 10 Kohaku Koi were adapted in a filtered aquarium with O2 aeration and fed ad libitum by fish pellets for 1-3 days. Then, a collection of 0.5 ml peripheral blood samples per fish from the caudalis vein was performed under anesthesia conditions using special anesthetic preparation for Koi fish, namely Koi Anesthesia mixed with fresh water. Those samples were then collected in tubes containing the Ca-EDTA anticoagulant. The DNA then was extracted from peripheral blood samples and used as a template for PCR amplification by specific oligonucleotide primer pairs to amplify the ArS.9-15 gene. PCR products in the form of DNA fragments were visualized with 1.5% agarose gel electrophoresis and SybrSafe staining using Transilluminator-UV in a dark room. The DNA fragments were analyzed descriptively to sex determination between male and female Kohaku Koi. Electrophoresis results of PCR products showed two DNA bands of 850 bp and 1,100 bp in male Kohaku Koi, while in female Kohaku Koi showed only a band DNA in size of 850 bp. The results of the molecular fish sexing of the 10 Kohaku Koi showed that 70% are female and 30% are male.

Nutrients removal from integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) water using waste stabilization ponds (WSP)

Nutrients enrichment due to waste from Keramba Jaring Apung (KJA) aquaculture is one of the main causes of eutrophication in Indonesian Lakes and Reservoirs. Integrated multi-trophic aquaculture (IMTA) is one of environmentally friendly aquaculture that currently being developed at the Research Center (RC) for Limnology - National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). This aquaculture would re-use its water, along with fish waste and leftover fish pellets, to grow Duckweed (Lemna sp.) in its ponds system as additional feed. However, due to closed water recirculation in IMTA ponds system, the water quality would eventually deteriorate which would be marked with high turbidity of organic solid waste and low dissolved oxygen (DO). This study aims to improve water quality from aquacultures activity, especially in nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) reduction, using a constructed wetland (CW) system. This system consists of waste stabilization ponds (WSP) and compartments of CW and adsorbent. During this initial stage, IMTA water was treated in the WSP for then observed for its improvements in the nutrients and other water quality parameters. This research was conducted from July to September 2019 in the Prototype Laboratory of RC for Limnology-BRIN. Parameters of DO, conductivity, pH, oxidation reduction potential (ORP), and salinity were observed using a calibrated water quality checker (WQC) Horriba©, while nutrients parameters in the form of N-NH4, N-NO2, N-NO3, P-PO4, and dissolved organic matters (DOM) were measured in the laboratory referring to the standard method of the American Public Health Association (APHA). Results showed that average values of turbidity and electrical conductivity parameters were reduced from 102 to 76 NTU and 0.21 to 0.14 mS/cm, respectively. Average nutrients reductions were also found from N-NO2, N-NO3 and P-PO4 parameters of 85.5%, 44.3% and 37%, respectively. Significant changes were observed in parameters of DO and N-NH4. DO was increased from 4.63 mg/L to 7.44 mg/L, while N-NH4 were reduced for 81%. Even though the experiments were not conducted during low DO conditions of water from IMTA ponds, improvements from the vital water quality parameters after treatment in the WSP were observed.

PEMANFAATAN SAMPAH SAYURAN RUMAH TANGGA MENJADI PELET PAKAN IKAN LELE (CLARIAS GARIEPINUS)

Vegetable waste that is not utilized causes an unpleasant odor effect and disturbs the aesthetics of the environment, wet waste thrown away can become a breeding ground for insects. One of the waste utilization methods is the manufacture of fish pellets. The purpose of this study is to utilize household vegetable waste used for fish feed pellets. The research design used was a pre-experimental design with a posttest only research design. The object of this research is vegetable waste originating from household activities. The treatments used were 3 variations of vegetables (20%, 30%, 40%) repetition which was carried out 3 times with a concentration of 1 kg. Making fish pellets using a machine that has been modified as a supporting tool for making pellets. The pellets produced were subjected to laboratory tests to determine the water content, ash content, fat content, crude fiber content, protein content referring to SNI (01-4087-2006) concerning catfish feed regulations. The results showed that from variation 1 (20%), variation 2 (30%) and variation 3 (40%) none of them met the Indonesian National Standard with water content, ash content, fat content, and protein content. crude fiber still does not meet because it is still under the provisions of SNI. It was concluded that there were no pellets made from vegetable waste that met the stipulation value of SNI. The percentage that can be reviewed for the formulation is that the percentage of shrimp head flour can be increased to 20% and the fine bran can be reduced to 40%. For the community, it can be useful to overcome the problem of vegetable waste being dumped directly into the surrounding environment without any processing of the vegetable waste to be used as fish feed pellets.
