This MSME operates in the field of clothing and modified batik cloth in Pemalang. The aim of implementing this activity is to develop business, good financial management and production performance. The business assistance provided includes marketing aspects. The efforts made by the accompanying team aim to promote Yu Min Batik & Boutique products through MSME activities such as bazaars and catalog content on online social media. This is due to increasingly sophisticated technological developments and seeing many entrepreneurs, especially MSMEs, promoting their businesses through online social media. The aim is to introduce and attract the interest of potential customers by understanding the individual characteristics of consumers so that the products sold will match their wishes.</p><p>The assistance method used is carrying out several programs such as making banners, making simple bookkeeping, Google maps, participating in MSME bazaar activities, making direction boards, making organizational structures, business profiles, and creating social media (Instagram). After analyzing and applying the program to Yu Min Batik products, it produced a positive impact on MSME owners. Such as introducing products through promotions on social media and placing banners, organizational structures, understanding simple bookkeeping, business profiles, and installing direction boards to fulfill product requirements to support promotions so that people have more confidence in the products they want to buy.<strong></strong></p></td></tr></tbody></table>

The relationship between financial performance, firm size, leverage, and corporate social responsibility: A case study of Accenture Plc

This study examined the relationship between financial performance, firm size, leverage, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Accenture Plc. Using a quantitative correlational research design, the research utilized secondary data from Bloomberg (2014-2023) and analyzed the variables through a multiple regression model. Financial performance (measured by Return on Equity), firm size (total revenue), and leverage (debt-to-assets ratio) were the independent variables, while CSR was measured through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores. Findings revealed that firm size had a significant positive relationship with CSR, suggesting that larger firms are more likely to engage in CSR activities. However, there was no statistically significant relationship between Return on Equity (ROE) and leverage with CSR scores. These findings aligned with previous research on the impact of firm size on CSR but differed in terms of ROE and leverage's influence on CSR engagement. The study concluded that Accenture's revenue capacity positively influenced its CSR activities, while leverage and financial performance, as measured by ROE, did not have a significant impact. Recommendations were made for policymakers to consider encouraging larger firms to enhance CSR engagement through fiscal incentives.

Intelligent waste management: Maximize profits and minimize waste using IOT and AI

The article presents an innovative waste Container Management System for restaurants which incorporates the IoT and AI to increase effectiveness and decrease waste. Through smart dust bins that has embedded sensors and machine learning, the system can classify and measure food waste effectively in real time. This innovation affords the restaurants precise data on the waste cycles as well as the stock control to avoid over-ordering. The success of the proposed system can be also attested through high classification accuracy of food waste and the usage of models such as MLP which reached up to 96.44%. Through these technologies, food wastage, and operational costs are reduced while at the same time ensuring sustainable practices that have a reduced impact on the environment are employed. In general, the system supports better decision-making and increased profitability in the restaurant business concerning waste management and supply chain management. This optimised approach does away with the wastage which would have reduced revenues, consequently improving the business’ financial performance.

Literature review on sustainable development in bali province through the lens of financial aspects

This literature review discusses the relationship between regional financial performance, capital expenditure, and environmental expenditure and their role in sustainable development. Sustainable development is defined as development that is able to meet current needs without sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Previous studies have shown that the allocation of regional spending, especially environmental spending, is still low despite having an important contribution to preserving ecosystems and reducing the impact of climate change. This review emphasizes that regional financial performance plays a significant role in determining capital expenditure and environmental allocation. Unbalanced spending policies can hinder the achievement of sustainable development. In addition, effective allocation of environmental spending is key to supporting various climate change mitigation programs and maintaining environmental quality in the future. The results of this study conclude that improving financial performance needs to be accompanied by appropriate budget policies, especially in capital expenditure and the environment. Efforts to ensure sustainable development require synergy between economic growth and environmental concern so that long-term development goals are achieved.

FOREX EFFICIENCY AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF INDIAN DEFENCE COMPANIES – EXAMINING CONNECTION

This study explores the impact of financial performance on forex efficiency of the selected Indian Defence companies. To meet this objective the sample of five companies selected from nifty defence index based on availability of data. This research uses a descriptive research design and the analysis spans over ten years from April 2014 to March 2024. The financial performance indicators, including profitability, liquidity, asset efficiency, and solvency are examined in relation to forex efficiency through correlation and panel regression analysis. This research aims to address two key questions: the overall relationship between financial performance and forex efficiency in selected Defence companies and the influence of selected financial indicators on forex efficiency. The previous studies have explored related themes but they have not specifically targeted the Defence sector or detailed how particular financial indicator impact forex efficiency. This study fills this gap by providing a meticulous analysis of how financial performance influences forex efficiency. This contributes in valuable insights for strategic financial management and policy formulation in the Defence industry.

The Impact of Financial Performance and Stakeholder Pressure on Sustainability Report Disclosure: The Moderating Role of Independent Commissioners

In the contemporary business landscape, sustainability reporting has become increasingly critical as stakeholders demand greater transparency and accountability from companies regarding their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. This study delves into the factors that influence the extent of sustainability report disclosure, focusing on the role of financial performance, stakeholder pressure, and the moderating effect of independent commissioners. This study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing data from 96 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020 to 2022. The sample encompasses 288 observations, and purposive sampling was employed to select companies that met specific criteria, ensuring the inclusion of companies that have consistently disclosed sustainability reports and maintained financial stability. Regression analysis with an absolute difference test was conducted using SPSS 23 to analyze the relationships between the variables. The findings of this study indicate that financial performance and stakeholder pressure significantly influence sustainability report disclosure. Companies with higher financial performance tend to disclose more sustainability information, suggesting that they have the resources and motivation to invest in sustainability reporting. This positive association between financial performance and sustainability reporting implies that companies with stronger financial positions are better equipped to allocate resources towards sustainability initiatives and their subsequent disclosure. In conclusion, the proportion of independent commissioners on the board moderates these relationships, indicating that independent oversight enhances the positive effects of financial performance and stakeholder pressure on sustainability report disclosure. The presence of independent commissioners on the board strengthens corporate governance mechanisms, ensuring greater transparency and accountability in sustainability reporting.

Exploring value relevance of EVA over different stages of business lifecycle

Purpose This study aims to determine whether the financial ecosystem is reliable for evaluating a company’s financial performance at various lifecycle stages or whether value-based performance metrics like Economic Value Added (EVA) are the most comprehensive indicators regardless of the company’s lifecycle stage. The evaluation will analyse the importance of value-based and accounting performance benchmarks (EVA, Return on Capital Employed, Return on Equity and Earnings per Share) in creating shareholder value, as measured by market value added, throughout the company’s lifecycle. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on a robust empirical analysis of 228 Indian firms listed on the National Stock Exchange Nifty 500 Index from 2006 to 2023. By considering firms of different sizes and ages, the authors aim to capture and analyse any distinct impact across various stages of their lifecycles. Using quantile regression for analysis equips the authors to effectively address extreme events such as the 2008 global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, making the method particularly suitable for conditionally distributed samples based on size and age. Findings The research reveals that various performance indicators are crucial at different stages of a company’s lifecycle for generating wealth for shareholders. However, considering the significance of the EVA measure, it is recommended that policymakers standardize the calculation of EVA and mandate its disclosure. Originality/value The authors comprehensively analysed the economic value addition relative to a company’s size and age, going beyond previous studies that focused solely on specific size categories. This offers managers valuable insights into aligning business performance measures with the various stages of the business lifecycle.

Data-driven approach to optimizing property management strategies: spatial modeling analytics of short-term rentals

Purpose This study aims to explore the impact of locational and seasonal factors on the financial performance of short-term rental properties in Margaret River, Western Australia. It seeks to address the gap in understanding how these factors influence key financial metrics such as average daily rate (ADR) and occupancy rates, providing insights for property managers, investors and policymakers. Design/methodology/approach The research uses a mixed-method approach, integrating advanced predictive modeling techniques, such as Random Forests and Gradient Boosting, with spatial clustering algorithms like density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) and ordering points to identify the clustering structure (OPTICS). The study analyzes a comprehensive data set of short-term rental properties between 2012 and 2019. It focuses on locational attributes, seasonal variations and financial outcomes. Findings The findings reveal that properties located near tourist attractions and amenities consistently achieve higher ADRs and occupancy rates, confirming the critical role of location in driving rental demand. Seasonal analysis indicates significant fluctuations in both ADR and occupancy rates, with peaks during high tourist seasons and troughs in off-peak periods. The study underscores the importance of dynamic pricing strategies to optimize revenue and sustain occupancy across different seasons. In addition, it highlights the influence of property features, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, on ADR, while noting that larger properties do not necessarily achieve higher occupancy rates. Research limitations/implications Future research could expand the scope to include different locations and explore the long-term impacts of locational and seasonal factors on property performance. Originality/value This research contributes to the literature by integrating spatial analysis with advanced predictive modeling techniques to provide a nuanced understanding of how locational and seasonal factors impact financial performance in the short-term rental market. It offers a novel application of data analytics within the context of tourism and hospitality management, bridging theoretical frameworks with practical insights.

Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance of Nawiri Sacco Society Limited in Embu County, Kenya

This study explored the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and financial performance in the context of Nawiri Sacco Society Limited in Embu County, Kenya. Given the dynamic nature of CSR and the divergent results from global studies on its impact on financial performance, this research aimed to shed light on whether CSR activities contributed positively to Nawiri Sacco's financial outcomes. Specifically, it examined how stakeholder expectations, regulatory compliance, CSR-related costs and risks, and industry characteristics affected the Sacco’s financial performance. The research employed a regression model to evaluate these factors, with a notable emphasis on how stakeholder pressures and regulatory frameworks shaped CSR's financial implications. Data was collected from 85 executive members through structured questionnaires, achieving an impressive 88.9% response rate, which supported the reliability of the results.The findings indicated a significant relationship between CSR and financial performance, revealing mixed effects among the different CSR factors. For instance, stakeholder expectations showed a negative impact on financial performance, suggesting that while stakeholder engagement was critical, excessive focus could strain financial resources. Conversely, regulatory compliance, cost implications, and industry characteristics demonstrated a positive association, highlighting the potential of CSR to improve financial outcomes when effectively managed. These insights reinforced the need for a balanced CSR strategy that aligned with both social responsibilities and financial goals. This study contributed to existing literature by focusing on a Sacco's CSR practices, adding a unique perspective on how socially responsible initiatives could affect financial performance in cooperative institutions, particularly within the Kenyan context.

Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is a company's effort to create a conducive relationship between stakeholders, so that it becomes more focused and clearer in the division of duties, responsibilities and supervision. Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has an impact on company performance. Company performance is the value generated by the company in a certain period with reference to certain standards. Good company performance is seen in the company's financial performance. Corporate Financial Performance is also called a determination that measures the good and bad of the company in work performance and can be seen from its financial condition in a certain period. The method used in this research is a balanced qualitative and quantitative mixed approach (Concurrent Triangulation), using a case study approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and the number of samples of this study were 36 PDAM employees and 50 people. The results showed that the implementation of the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) at PDAM palopo city is very good, public perception of PDAM palopo city is good, Financial Performance at PDAM palopo city from 2010-2014 has decreased significantly in terms of profitability, and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) has a low positive relationship before the implementation of the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG). and after the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

Balancing Innovation and Profitability: Technological Diversification in Iran’s Insurance Industry

Abstract This study explores how technological diversification affects financial performance in Iran’s insurance industry. Using semi-structured interviews with six experts, including CEOs and faculty members, key indicators of technological diversification were identified, such as new underwriting software and digital advertising platforms. A 33-item questionnaire was developed based on these insights and distributed to top managers of Iranian insurance companies, with secondary financial data sourced from the Central Insurance of Iran. The study employes regression analysis and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess the impact of technological diversification on financial performance, controlling for firm size, debt ratio, and company age. Findings indicate a significant negative relationship between technological diversification and both Return on Equity (ROE) and Return on Assets (ROA), suggesting that the costs of adopting new technologies may outweigh their short-term financial benefits. Additionally, high debt ratios were found to adversely affect ROA, highlighting the financial risks of excessive borrowing.

Regional Workforce Dynamics in West Virginia: Insights from Shift-Share and Location Quotient Analysis

West Virginia, home to approximately 1.77 million residents, has been grappling with significant economic challenges characterized by persistent poverty and sluggish growth. Despite ongoing development efforts, the state’s Gross State Product (GSP) has seen only a modest increase of 0.1% over the past five years, reaching USD 71.7 billion, while the unemployment rate remains at 4.0%. The annualized employment growth rate of 0.7% lags behind the national average, and only about 54% of West Virginia’s adult population is either employed or actively seeking employment, resulting in one of the lowest labor force participation rates in the nation. In contrast, certain industrial sectors, such as healthcare, social assistance, retail trade, and accommodation and food services, have shown intermittent growth at the county and regional levels. To explore the unique characteristics and significance of these regions in relation to employment growth, this study examines regional employment patterns in West Virginia from 2001 to 2020, focusing on the main regions of the state: Metro Valley, Mid-Ohio Valley, New River/Greenbrier Valley, Mountain Lakes, and Potomac Highlands. Utilizing shift-share and location quotient (LQ) analyses, this research identifies the sectors driving regional employment and assesses their performance. Key findings reveal strong sectoral performance in mining, manufacturing, and finance in the Mid-Ohio Valley; wholesale trade, transportation, and utilities in the Metro Valley; agriculture and administrative services in the New River/Greenbrier Valley; agriculture and manufacturing in the Potomac Highlands; and scientific services, healthcare, and utilities in the Mountain Lakes region. Based on these insights, this study recommends targeted policy interventions to address regional disparities, enhance sectors with significant short- and long-term benefits, and foster balanced economic development across the state.

Effect of technological culture and knowledge sharing on organizational performance: The mediating role of digital innovation and self-efficacy as moderation

In the era of IR4.0, environmental dynamism and satisfying customer needs through digital innovations have evolved across IT industries. This article attempts to examine the effect of technological culture (TC) and knowledge sharing (KS) on digital innovation (DI), organizational performance (OP), and the moderating effect of self-efficacy (SE) on the link between TC, KS, and DI. This study evaluates a novel conceptual framework utilizing survey data from 270 samples of IT firms’ employees in Bangladesh and analyzing it employing the PLS-SEM approach. The findings indicate that knowledge sharing and technological culture have a significant impact on DI and DI also significantly mediates the relationship between operational, financial, and employee performance. The findings suggest businesses recognize the chance of developing digital technologies and the digitalization trend in IT sectors by being devoted to embracing new technological cultures and upgrading their knowledge exchange to become innovation leaders and increase OP. This study describes how new digital technologies and knowledge sharing may be exploited to produce innovative digital creative digital solutions’ innovative products and services which ultimately increase their OP, where the managers of the IT organizations can apply this knowledge in respected fields.

A Study of Cultural Diversity and Ethical Climate towards Employee Selection in Higher Education Institutions

This study investigates the critical role of employee selection processes in organisational success, focusing on the impact of cultural diversity (CD) and ethical climate (EC) within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Northern Malaysia. Employing a quantitative methodology and a descriptive research design, data were collected from academic staff through a structured questionnaire. The analysis using SPSS software reveals strong positive correlations among employee selection, CD, and EC. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity confirm the data's suitability for factor analysis, while Cronbach’s alpha coefficients indicate robust internal consistency. The findings underscore the importance of aligning employee selection processes with organisational strategies and values to attract competent employees. Additionally, effective management of CD enhances financial performance, competitive advantage, and profitability. An EC significantly promotes ethical behaviour, job satisfaction, and organisational performance. The study highlights practical implications for integrating diversity and ethical considerations into selection strategies, providing valuable insights for human resource management and organisational behaviour. The research emphasises the need for a holistic approach to talent acquisition by demonstrating how selection practices influence organisational outcomes. This approach fosters inclusivity and ethical leadership, ultimately contributing to long-term organisational success. These findings comprehensively understand employee selection, CD, and EC dynamics in enhancing institutional effectiveness and achieving strategic goals in HEI settings.

The Effect of Mergers and Acquisitions on the Financial Performance Companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2020-2022 period

This research aims to determine the effect of mergers and acquisitions on company financial performance in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data collection method used in this research is a purposive sampling technique, based on existing criteria, there are 30 sample companies. The company's financial performance is measured using financial ratios, namely: Return On Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR) and Debt To Asset Ratio (DAR). The analytical method used in this research is the T-test difference analysis and the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The research results show that companies that carry out mergers and acquisitions in 2020-2022 with an average period of 1 year before and 1 year after the merger and acquisition show that there is no difference in profitability as indicated by Return On Assets (ROA), liquidity as indicated by Current Ratio (CR), solvency shown by Debt To Asset Ratio (DAR), before and after mergers and acquisitions. This research was conducted incompanies that carry out mergers and acquisitions in 2020-2022 and are listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. This study provides an in-depth understanding of how mergers and acquisitions affect the financial performance of companies in the Indonesian capital market. Therefore, stakeholders such as investors, company managers, regulators and academics can gain a better understanding of the impact of merger and acquisition activities on the Indonesian economy. There has been no research regarding the effect of mergers and acquisitions on financial performance in the 2020-2022 period in Indonesia. This knowledge gap is the reason for conducting this research.

The Effect of Ceo Compensation, Ceo Managerial Ability, and Ceo Tenure on the Company's Financial Performance with Der as the Mediating Variable

The study aims to analyze whether CEO Compensation, CEO Managerial Ability, and CEO Tenure partially have a positive and significant influence on the Debt-to-Equity Ratio. Furthermore, to find out whether CEO Compensation, CEO Managerial ability, CEO tenure, and Debt-equity ratio have a significant and positive effect on the Return on Assets. The type of quantitative analysis method used in this study is path analysis using the help of statistic software Eviews version 12. The data used in the study is secondary data taken from the annual financial reports published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange website for 5 years (2018-2022) on 25 companies in the Consumer Non-Cyclicals sector that are listed in the BEI Period 2018 – 2022 So the amount of data on this study was 5x25 or 125 observation data. The results of this study show that (1) CEO Compensation has no positive effect on the Debt to Equity Ratio (2) CEO Managerial ability hurts debt to equity ratio (3) CEO Tenure has no negative impact on the debt-to-equity ratio (4) CEO Compensation does not have a positive influence on the Return on Assets (5) CEO Management Ability has not a positive impact on return on assets (6) CEO tenure has not had a positive effect upon the return on the assets (7) Debt on the Equity Ratio hurts returns on the Assets. (10) Debt to Equity Ratio does not mediate the influence of CEO Tenure on Return on Assets.

Assessing the Financial Impact of CSR Initiatives in Indian IT Companies

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is increasingly recognized as a vital component of modern business strategy, particularly in the IT sector. CSR initiatives reflect a company’s commitment to ethical practices, environmental sustainability, and social welfare, thereby enhancing its reputation and stakeholder trust. This study explores the financial health and the impact of CSR on the financial performance of Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) and Infosys Limited over a five-year period from 2018-19 to 2022-23. In this study ratio analysis and regression techniques have been used to analyses the financial health of these leading IT companies and examining the impact of CSR spending on financial performance such as net profit margins and Return on Assets (ROA). The comparative analysis highlights that while both companies have shown a strong commitment to CSR, there is no direct impact of CSR spending on their net profit margins or ROA. TCS has consistently demonstrated higher CSR spending, net profit margins, and ROA compared to Infosys, reflecting superior financial management and asset utilization. This study underscores the importance of CSR as a strategic component for reputation and sustainability, even though its direct financial impact remains indeterminate.
