The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between Field Work Practice Management and Islamic Culture on Soft Skills in students. To improve the competence and professional skills of vocational students, Field Work Practices (PKL) are needed. However, in reality, PKL activities are not in accordance with the goals the school wants. With street vendors and Islamic culture that have Islamic soft skills character values, students can develop their soft skills. Because soft skills contain aspects of work character that are based on the 4 traits of the prophet Muhammad SAW, namely: Siddiq, Amanah, Fathanah, and Tabligh. The method used is quantitative research with correlation analysis by distributing questionnaires with a Likert scale of 1 - 5. The data analysis technique uses IBM SPSS version 28.0. The results showed that: Field Work Practice Management has a positive correlation to the Soft Skills of Students 83.7%. Islamic Culture has a positive correlation to Soft 64%. Meanwhile, the correlation between Field Work Practice Management and Islamic Culture on Soft Skills of Students at Al Falah Vocational School in Probolinggo City has a positive correlation of 86.4%.

Positioned between the two, economic anthropology can build on the idea of making do or using what is at hand to get something done, from raising crops, cooking a meal or repairing a home to producing a commodity or constructing a myth. Making do captures much of economic, social and conceptual life, as well as fieldwork practice.

Implementation of Digital Competency-Based Assessment in Turndown Service in The Hospitality Industry

The variety of assessment tools used in the Turn Down Service competency test in vocational education and still done manually using observation sheets is the reason for this research. Using increasingly advanced digital applications aims to develop an assessment model that aligns with the current learning process. This study aims to analyze the results of the implementation and quality of the digital-based Competency Based Assessment model on the Turn Down Service competency test in vocational education. The research uses a descriptive method to examine the implementation of competency-based assessment through observation and competence tests. Respondents are vocational school teachers and hospitality practitioners as internal and external examiners and interns at vocational schools. The researcher examined the data by the procedure and characteristic findings of the research. The researcher analyzed the interview and observational data qualitatively; however, we analyzed the competence tests quantitatively. The research finding showed that: (1) the model of digital competency-based assessment that has been implemented excels and covers the preparation, process, and result stages. The model fulfils the Standard Operating Procedure in Housekeeping Department. (2) The achieved competence in all vocational interns is competent according to the result of external and internal assessors through moderation. (3) Digital competency-based assessment model in the competence test achieved excellent quality after being analyzed by the inter-rater reliability test. The results of implementing digital Competency-Based Assessment in turndown services in the hospitality industry are analyzed based on performance at the preparation stage, process, and practice results. The performance results show that all students' competency achievements are competent at very high criteria. This research can be recommended to decision-makers in vocational education as an excellent reference for implementing this model in competency testing and fieldwork practice in the Housekeeping Department.

Determination and Application of Critical Control Points on Ebi Fry Production (Value Added Product) at PT. Jala Sembilan Semarang, Central Java

Java. The quality of ebi fry products is largely determined by the quality management of the company, one of it is the determination and application of the Critical Control Point (CCP). The purpose of this study is to determine the determination of CCP and the problems that occur in the application of CCP in the production of ebi fry at PT. Jala Sembilan Semarang, Central Java. This Field Work Practice is carried out at PT. Jala Sembilan which is located at Jalan Tugu Industri IV No. 3, Randu Garut, Tugu District, Semarang City, Central Java on December 30, 2019 to January 23, 2020. The working method used is a descriptive method with data collection including primary data and secondary data. Data collection can be done by means of active participation, observation, interviews, and literature review. Determination of CCP is done after analyzing the hazards in each production process flow. Ebi fry production at PT. Jala Sembilan has 2 CCPs, namely on package receiving and metal detecting. The application of CCP on the receipt of ebi fry packaging has been carried out by checking allergen labels. The application of CCP in metal detecting has encountered problems, namely the metal detector machine that has interference and is not sensitive so that every time the product is passed the alarm is always on.

SOCIALIZATION OF MIGRATION SERVICES AT CLASS II IMMIGRATION OFFICE TPI BELAKANG PADANG

This paper discusses the implementation of Field Work Practices (PKL) at the TPI Class II Immigration Office behind the desert. The street vendors succeeded in providing opportunities for cadets to observe and understand the mechanisms and constraints in various sections of the Immigration Office. Problems identified include the efficiency of passport collection, the effectiveness of passport applicant complaints, violations of residence permits for foreigners, and procurement of goods for the Immigration Office. However, through cooperation between officers, these problems can be overcome, so that the best service is still provided to Indonesian citizens and foreigners in Indonesia.

Linguistic fieldwork at the end of empire: British officials and American structuralists in Anthony Burgess’ Malayan trilogy

ABSTRACT In 1959 Anthony Burgess published Beds in the East, a novel set in Malaya in 1957, the year the Federation of Malaya achieved independence. Towards the end of the book, Burgess introduces a new character, Temple Haynes, a professional linguist from a US university who is studying the phonology of Temiar, the language of one of Malaysia’s indigenous ethnic minorities. This paper examines Burgess’ depiction of Haynes and his sometimes fractious relationship with the British ‘Assistant Protector of Aborigines’, Moneypenny (also a speaker of Temiar). It is interesting to examine this fictional representation because it uses material familiar to students of the History of Linguistics to develop a certain picture of imperialism and decolonisation, one that shifts questions about the politics of western intervention onto the US but also worries about the personal investments of British representatives in colonised and decolonising space. Thus Burgess’ text offers the reader a dramatic portrait of the practice of linguistic fieldwork as part of a particular vision of Malaya at the ‘end of empire’.

A Fieldwork Forum for the VAF Brent R. Fortenberry and James Michael Buckley Fieldwork—the recording of buildings in situ with measured drawings and photographs—is one of the distinguishing features of vernacular architecture as a field of study. —Thomas Carter and Elizabeth Collins Cromley As Tom Carter and Betsy Cromley emphasize in their Invitation to Vernacular Architecture, the foundational introductory text for our field, fieldwork is central to the work of the Vernacular Architecture Forum. At the 2021 VAF Virtual Conference, we convened a group of VAF members for a plenary session called “Fieldwork Futures” that considered how our work in the field is evolving as intellectual, social, and technological conditions change around us. This panel led to a wide-ranging discussion among all those assembled about what the future of vernacular fieldwork might look like.1 After that session, we asked our panelists to follow up with a round of written commentary for this issue of Buildings & Landscapes, and we are delighted with the result. These articles allow the panelists room to expand on points they made during the session and to issue new challenges to our field in the twenty-first century. All of these authors ask about the meaning and relevance of vernacular fieldwork in the contemporary world and offer suggestions about how our field should carry out its mission to explore the ordinary built environment. Danielle Willkens discusses the opportunities and challenges of digital measurement techniques and demonstrates that there is as much craft involved with these technologies as there is with handheld tape measures and mechanical pencils. Elaine B. Stiles explores how preserving vernacular architecture will require “a fieldwork model that starts with people rather than material and received histories” in order to record for “a more representative, equitable, and just public history landscape” than we have achieved in the past. The role of oral history and ethnography involving living communities is the subject of Sarah Lopez’s reflection on interacting with Mexican migrants, and she offers some insights about how vernacular architecture fieldwork can enlarge the historical record with new types of evidence gleaned from those who presently make use of ordinary spaces. Arijit Sen challenges us to consider going beyond the physical recording of buildings by working with local communities toward social justice and by remaining open to the “serendipity” we always find out in the field. As we begin the exciting Mellon-funded VAF/ University of Virginia African American fieldwork program this summer, we will have the opportunity to test all of these methods of updating our fieldwork practice. We hope that by continuing our conversation at last year’s conference, this set of essays will help us keep thinking about our fieldwork in future issues of B&L, in conference sessions, and, of course, on long tour bus rides. notes 1. CALCULATION OF MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY IN ASTM D-4737 CALCULATED CETANE INDEX TESTING AND ASTM D-445 KINEMATIC VISCOSITY IN CEPU PPSDM OIL LABORATORY

Uncertainty is a parameter that defines the range of values ​​in which it is estimated that the true measured value lies. The concept of uncertainty is very important for measurement results, because uncertainty expresses the quality of measurement or test results. Measurements and tests have not been declared complete without an uncertainty value. The smaller the value of uncertainty, the more accurate and precise the results of the research or test carried out will be. The purpose of this Field Work Practice is to determine the uncertainty value of the Calculated Cetane Index (CCI) ASTM D-4737 and Kinematic Viscosity ASTM D-445 tests in the Cepu Migas PPSDM laboratory. In testing the measurement uncertainty with CCI ASTM D-4737 and Kinematic Viscosity ASTM D-445 using diesel as a sample, the test was carried out for 7 days with 2 repetitions of the test every day. ± 6,980, and the results of the calculation of uncertainty by testing the Kinematic Viscosity ASTM D-445 is ± 0.40. Based on these results, the data obtained can be accepted because the results obtained are smaller than the reproducibility value.

Influence Creativity Students and Of Job Training Experience to Work Readiness Grade XI Student Of Automatic Skill and Office Management Programs In SMK Swasta Jambi Medan Year 2020-2021

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the Effect of Student Creativity and Field Work Practices on the Work Readiness of Grade XI Students in Automation and Office Management at Private Vocational School Jambi Medan T.A 2020/2021. This research was conducted in Class XI Automation and Office Management at Jambi Medan Private Vocational High School with a total population of 93 people. Based on data analysis using the SPSS 23.00 for windows program, the hypothesis of this study was tested with the t (partial) test, it was found that student creativity had a positive and significant effect on student work readiness. then field work practice has a positive and significant effect on student work readiness. The F test (simultaneous) obtained that there was a significant influence between student creativity and field work practice on the work readiness of class XI students of Class XI Office Management Automation in Jambi Private Vocational High School, Jambi, TA 2020/2021. Furthermore, the results of the coefficient of determination of the value of R2 is 0.471, which means that the variables of student creativity and field work practice have an influence on the variable of student work readiness by 47.1%. While the remaining 52.9% is influenced by other variables that are outside the focus of this study.

The Influence of School Infrastructure and Teacher Competencies on Student Competencies in Conducting Field Work Practices in Schools SMK Swasta Teladan Rampah

This study aims to determine the effect of school infrastructure and teacher competence on student competence in carrying out field work practices at the Medan Teladan Private Vocational School. This research was conducted at the Medan Teladan Private Vocational School on Jln. Medan No. 5 Sei Rampah, Sei Rampah Subdistrict, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province where the population in this study was 102 students and a sample of 50 students. The technique of collecting data in this research is through observation and distributing questionnaires. In the test of the validity of the analysis of the questionnaire items using the Product Moment correlation formula, the reliability test was carried out using Cronbach alpha. Data processing is carried out using the SPSS 25.0 application. The results of the study can be concluded that there is a positive and significant effect between school infrastructure and student competence in conducting fieldwork practices, furthermore, there is a positive and significant influence between teacher competence and student competence in conducting fieldwork practices, and there is a positive and significant influence between facilities and infrastructure. school infrastructure and teacher competence on student competence in conducting fieldwork practices.

Moving Ethnography Online: Analysing the Social Meaning of Manglish in Youth WhatsApp Chats

This article contributes to the changing landscape of fieldwork practices within sociolinguistic research, specifically the practice of online ethnography. It makes a case for the significance of online chats in observing the construction of ethnic identities and social intimacy among young Malaysian English (henceforth Manglish) speakers. The rise of Manglish discourse has been hardly ignored in digital settings. Thus, the rationale for choosing Manglish as a language of communication within online spheres such as Instant Messaging is unclear. This article argues that the socially structured meanings that underlie Manglish practices deserve exploration as it would benefit from online ethnography. Drawing on Androutsopoulos’s (2008) discourse on online ethnographic approach, this paper shows how researchers could use WhatsApp chats to explore the linguistic and social behaviour of Manglish speakers. The findings suggest that the interrelation of speakers’ online behaviour and linguistic choice can denote their ethnicity, in-groupness, stances, and regional identity. Online ethnography is therefore significant and should not be limited to linguistic sources but also used as a mode of participating in, as well as observing, the construction of identity that reflects the ‘offline’ aspect of speakers’ social lives.

Pelaksanaan Praktek Kerja Lapangan Kelas Xi Jurusan Teknik Instalasi Tenaga Listrik di SMKN 2 Kota Serang di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

The purpose of this study is to describe: 1) PKL planning. 2) implementation of street vendors. 3) monitoring and evaluation. 4) Testing and Certification. and 5) The results of street vendors at SMKN 2 Serang City, Serang, Banten. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research are the PKL Coordinator, Public Relations WK, Curriculum WK, Teacher Advisors, Students, and Industrial Advisors. Data collection techniques with interviews, documentation studies, and observation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis used a qualitative analysis of the Miles & Huberman interactive model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show the following: 1) PKL preparation starts from the legal basis, PKL Team, Correctional, PKL Understanding, Cooperation between Vocational Schools and IDUKA, Work Programs, Curriculum Synchronization, Human Resources, Financing, 2) Implementation of PKL at SMKN 2 Serang City is in semester 3 grade 2, with a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months. The implementation of street vendors at SMKN 2 Serang City has several activities, namely debriefing, student selection, compiling syllabus and activity schedules, IDUKA contracts, learning, and guidance. 3) Monitoring and Evaluation, Implementation Team, Time, Components to be monitored, Instruments, Utilization of monitoring results. 4) Testing and Certification, at SMKN 2 Serang city there is no testing, only the making of a report on the completion of street vendors and the certification here is only limited to the information that the person concerned has finished street vendors. 5) The results of street vendors, the competencies obtained by participants vary and the suitability of the curriculum, some say it is quite appropriate.

The Satisfaction Analysis of Professional Placement Partners on The Performance of University Students

This study aims to see how the satisfaction of fieldwork practice partners (PKL) on student performance. The research method used is a combination of sequential explanatory models or designs, wherein the first stage of the research was carried out by quantitative methods and the second stage by qualitative methods. The instruments analyzed are aspects of the quality of activities, aspects of Human Resource Competence (HR), and aspects of activity productivity. The results of the three aspects that have been analyzed received excellent and positive responses. For this reason, it can be said that the instruments used in this study were appropriate. It can be proven that the quality of activity quality (KMK) received a good and positive response of as much as 68%. In addition, the satisfaction of partner companies with the Productivity of PKL activities has a positive relationship of 62.5%. Meanwhile, the satisfaction of partner companies concerning Human Resource Competence (KSDM) also has an excellent positive relationship of 68.8%. Efforts to maintain and improve student performance and partner satisfaction are tangible manifestations of creating better student performance.

A set of principles and practical suggestions for equitable fieldwork in biology

Field biology is an area of research that involves working directly with living organisms in situ through a practice known as “fieldwork.” Conducting fieldwork often requires complex logistical planning within multiregional or multinational teams, interacting with local communities at field sites, and collaborative research led by one or a few of the core team members. However, existing power imbalances stemming from geopolitical history, discrimination, and professional position, among other factors, perpetuate inequities when conducting these research endeavors. After reflecting on our own research programs, we propose four general principles to guide equitable, inclusive, ethical, and safe practices in field biology: be collaborative, be respectful, be legal, and be safe. Although many biologists already structure their field programs around these principles or similar values, executing equitable research practices can prove challenging and requires careful consideration, especially by those in positions with relatively greater privilege. Based on experiences and input from a diverse group of global collaborators, we provide suggestions for action-oriented approaches to make field biology more equitable, with particular attention to how those with greater privilege can contribute. While we acknowledge that not all suggestions will be applicable to every institution or program, we hope that they will generate discussions and provide a baseline for training in proactive, equitable fieldwork practices.

This research aims to determine the role of Islamic boarding school recognition on the function of community empowerment in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Qualitative research method, type of literature study. Data comes from books, journals, laws, government regulations, and other scientific articles. The results obtained are the challenge of Islamic boarding schools in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 is to improve the quality and development of human resources. The function of community empowerment in Islamic boarding schools is to improve the welfare of the Islamic boarding school and the community through human resources development activities, such as training and fieldwork practices, increasing economic strength and potential, implementing social activities, utilizing technology, and other activities according to the capacity of the Islamic boarding school. The role of Islamic boarding school recognition in the implementation of the empowerment function in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, which is to become the legal basis for the implementation of the overall community empowerment function, as well as providing assistance, both facilities and infrastructure, finance, technology, and skills training. A new learning community for educating future teachers: Online Laboratory School

ABSTRACT To provide quality mathematics education for disadvantaged groups of middle school students and continue to offer quality practicum experience to future teachers during the Covid 19 outbreak, we founded the Online Laboratory School. This school was free and open to public school students: 130 middle school students throughout Turkey attended for a 5-week period. There were 25 pre-service teachers actively involved in teaching, under the close supervision of 7 university supervisors. The entire gamut of planning, teaching and reflection sessions for each virtual class were recorded via an e-learning platform. Additionally, survey data was collected from the participating students, parents, pre-service teachers and supervisors. Our findings indicate that we were able to build a unique and virtual learning community. While pre-service teachers and middle school students benefited the most, university supervisors also reported improving their skills on when and how to give feedback. We describe how the school functioned and the range of opportunities it provided to all participants considering situated-learning perspectives and building online-learning communities. We also discuss how this model can be used in the future as a strong asset for teacher education programs and adaptation of fieldwork practices.

PENGARUH POLA KOMUNIKASI DAN INTERAKSI KADER TERHADAP KEMAJUAN RODA ORGANISASI MEDAN BERNALAR

The Field Work Practice II (PKL) conducted by the practitioner aims to solve the problems that exist in the Reasoning Field Organization. Problem solving is carried out using the Mezzo (organization/community) level Intervention method which has several stages in general: 1) Assessment Stage 2) Planning Stage 3) Intervention or Program Implementation Stage 4) Evaluation Stage. Practitioners as social workers have roles in this regard, namely: 1) Providing assistance to clients starting from the assessment stage to the evaluation stage 2) as facilitators, in terms of facilitating clients 3) as consultants for clients if there is a decision making. The subject of this research is the Management of the Medan Reasoning Organization. Data collection was carried out starting from observation, interview, and documentation techniques. In the assessment stage, there are tools used to assist clients in finding the root of the problem, namely using the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) Method, an approach to the learning process and interacting with the community and society. The implementation of program activities will change, although not significantly. Practitioners and clients will go through an evaluation stage where this stage will provide an assessment of the activities and programs that are being implemented.

Broodstock rearing techniques brown-marbled grouper (epinephelus fuscoguttatus) at balai perikanan budidaya air payau (BPBAP) situbondo, east java

Grouper fish has a fast growing nature so it can be mass produced to serve market demand. The purpose of implementing field work practices is to determine the technique of raising brown-marbled grouper broodstock at the Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) Situbondo, East Java and to find out the problems that are often faced in the maintenance techniques of brown-marbled grouper broodstock. This research was carried out on 23 December 2019-25 January 2020. The method used is the descriptive method with data collection including primary data and secondary data. The maintenance technique for brown-marbled grouper broodstock includes several stages of activities, namely preparation of containers, procurement of broodstock and parent selection, water quality management, feeding, pest and disease control. The obstacles that exist in the maintenance technique for brown-marbled grouper broodstock are erratic weather and power outages.
