SUMMARYDiverticula of the female urethra have frequently been reported from the United States in the last twenty years, but reference to them in the British literature has been scanty. They can be diagnosed only by being aware of their existence (and possibly greater frequency), and by adequate examination of the urethra. The morbid anatomy, Etiology, symptoms, and diagnosis are described. In the past the majority of cases were treated by excision, but attention is drawn to a new method devised by Ellik.A case of female urethral diverticulum containing a calculus is reported. It was treated satisfactorily by Ellik's method.
