Introduction The influence of family factors on the academic performance of nursing students in group B of the University Foundation of the Andean Area 2022 was characterized. Methodology: This is a descriptive, quantitative and cross-sectional study. Non-random sample of 50 students. Results: The results of this research show that there is a significant relationship between the Family Social Climate and the School Performance of fourth-semester students, group B, of the Nursing program of the University Foundation of the Andean Area Pereira Sectional in the second semester of 2022. It is concluded that the Low Academic Performance demonstrated by the students of the Institution in the year 2022 is related to the inadequate Family Social Climate in which the students live. Conclusion: Families do not identify high family risk even with adverse conditions such as weakness with the social support network. It is necessary to intensify actions that involve the health of the family.

Family Climate as a Mediator of the Relationship between Stress and Life Satisfaction: A Study with Young University Students.

The family environment has a significant influence on the personality development of young people and their assessment of life satisfaction. Perceived stress is related to life satisfaction, but this relationship is also influenced by the family context. The present study analysed the impact of perceived stress on life satisfaction and the mediating role of family climate in university students. A sample of 920 university students was recruited for this study. The instruments used included the Perceived Stress Scale, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, and the Family Social Climate Scale, and socioeducational information was collected. The results indicate that perceived stress had a significant and positive effect on both conflictive and violent family climates, while life satisfaction was negatively impacted by these negative family climates. Additionally, supportive and cohesive family climates, along with difficulty expressing feelings and opinions, were found to have significant positive effects on life satisfaction. These findings highlight the importance of the family system in shaping individual conditions and how it can regulate the relationship between stress and life satisfaction.

Family social climate and anxiety, depression and stress in university students in times of covid-19

The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between the family social climate and the anxiety, depression, and stress experienced by university students in times of COVID-19. In this correlational and cross-sectional study, 199 university students. Were evaluated using a sociodemographic record, the family climate scale, and the depression, anxiety and stress scales. The results indicated that the dimensions of family development and stability are negatively and significantly correlated with depression, anxiety and stress (all p < .01 or less). Likewise, it was found that the family composition has different effects regarding the family climate and depression, anxiety and stress. It is concluded that the family social climate is negatively related to depression, anxiety and stress, with the dimensions of development and stability being the significant correlations.

Clima social familiar y estilos de vida en adolescentes distrito El Porvenir provincia de Trujillo

The objective of the study was to determine the influence of the family social climate on the adoption of healthy lifestyles in adolescents from the third to fifth grade of secondary education of the State Educational Institution No. 80824 "José Carlos Mariátegui" of the El Porvenir District of the Province. . from Trujillo. For this purpose, a cross-sectional descriptive-correlational study was carried out. The population was made up of 160 adolescents to whom a structured questionnaire was applied. The Chi square test was used to analyze the study variables. Among the main findings, it was reported that 74.4% of adolescents from the third to fifth grade of secondary education present a nutritious family social climate, while 25.6% of adolescents presented a pathogenic family social climate. Finally, it was determined that the family social climate significantly influences the adoption of healthy lifestyles, life plans, sexual practices and alcohol consumption.

FAMILY COPING STRATEGIES IN THE MIDST OF CORONA CRISIS

The family as the unit in the social system has an important role and becomes the first social environment to introduce love, affection, social culture, and religion. When the world is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, the families are also affected by some impacts included: family health problems; family economic; family harmonization; family socio-psychology; and socio-culture. The family health is composed of fundamental dimensions: family social climate; family integrity; family functioning; family resistance and family coping. The family coping concept is the capacity of the family to confront, mobilize, and act on stressful events. This article illustrates the aspects of family health and coping strategies in the midst of the COVID-19 in Indonesia. It aims to inform and be the reference for further study related to the family adaptation in the corona crisis. We reviewed many works of literature in the form of articles from various journals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, families must be able to survive. COVID-19 pandemic does not only affect physical but also mental health. The way to deal with the events depend on family characteristics, the severity of the events and family support. There are two types of coping strategies that families in Indonesia usually adopt including reducing expense and increasing income.

Adolescents' Attitudes to Bullying and its Relationship to Perceived Family Social Climate.

Adolescent attitudes towards bullying are determined by the interaction between individual characteristics and psychosocial development contexts such as the family environment. Our objective was to perform a psychosocial analysis of the differences in reported attitudes towards school bullying between peers according to a series of indicators of family social climate, such as perceived parental support and understanding, punishment and rejection, and disapproval. 665 students (50.4% girls) aged 12-18 (M = 14.59, SD = 1.691) from Asturias (Spain) participated in the study. Participants were selected by intentional sampling with simple random two-stage subsampling of secondary-school groups. The hypothesized positive relationship between the perception of parental support and increased resistance attitudes towards school bullying in the three attitudinal dimensions explored (cognitive, affective, and behavioural) was supported by our results. Notably, favourable attitudes towards bullying were associated to negative family climate perceptions. Adolescents with permissive attitudes towards bullying reported higher use of physical and psychological violence, as well as corporal punishment by their parents. This study supports the importancer of family socialization practices in the construction of attitudes towards bullying.

Clima social familiar y resiliencia en adolescentes en situación de vulnerabilidad en Barrios Altos, Lima

Objetivo: determinar la relación entre clima social familiar y resiliencia en adolescentes de una Institución Educativa en Barrios altos, Lima. Materiales y métodos: estudio correlacional con un diseño transversal. Muestreo de tipo no probabilístico intencional, conformado por 141 adolescentes de 11 a 17 años. Se utilizó el cuestionario de clima social familiar (FES) y la escala de resiliencia para adolescentes (ERA). Para el análisis bivariado se emplearon las pruebas estadísticas Chi-cuadrado y Kruskal-Wallis. Resultados: aunque, no se halló relación entre clima social familiar y resiliencia (p=0.075), se encontró relación entre la resiliencia y la participación en grupos religiosos (p=0.022). Asimismo, la dimensión insight se relacionó con la edad (p=0.000). La dimensión interacción se relacionó con la participación en grupos de entretenimiento (p=0.012). La dimensión humor se relacionó con grupos de entretenimiento (p=0.05). La dimensión iniciativa se relacionó con el sexo (p=0.022) y participación en grupos de entretenimiento (p=0.001). El 56.03% obtuvo un nivel medio en el clima social familiar y el 48.94% presentó un nivel bajo de resiliencia. Conclusión: el clima social familiar no se relaciona estadísticamente con la resiliencia, sin embargo, no deja de ser importante en el desarrollo del adolescente. Las prácticas religiosas podrían promover la resiliencia. Del mismo modo, las participaciones en grupos de entretenimiento pueden proveer de recursos al adolescente para hacer frente a la adversidad o situaciones de estrés en favor de una adaptación saludable y resiliente.

Clima social familiar y autoconcepto en estudiantes de una institución educativa estatal

Objetivo: determinar la relación que existe entre el clima social familiar y el autoconcepto en estudiantesde educación secundaria de una institución educativa estatal de El Triunfo. Metodología: el enfoquefue cuantitativo, el diseño no experimental y el nivel correlacional. La muestra fue conformada por 231estudiantes del nivel de educación secundaria a través de un muestreo probabilístico estratificadoa quienes se les aplicó la Escala de Clima Social Familiar (FES) de Moos y Trickett (1974) y laEscala AF-5 de García y Musitu (1999). Resultados: se halló mediante la prueba rho de Spearmanque existe una correlación directa y significativa entre el clima social familiar y el autoconcepto(rho=0,532; p<0,05). Asimismo se halló correlación directa y significativa entre el clima social familiary las dimensiones autoconcepto académico (rho=0,459; p<0,05), autoconcepto social (rho=0,343;p<0,05), autoconcepto emocional (rho=0,552; p<0,05), autoconcepto familiar (rho=0,444; p<0,05) yautoconcepto físico (rho=0,559; p<0,05). Conclusión: los estudiantes que perciban un clima socialfamiliar adecuado podrían tener un mejor autoconcepto.

El Clima Social Familiar y la Agresividad en Educación Primaria: un estudio de caso en Guayaquil - Ecuador

La investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el clima social familiar y la agresividad en los niños de tercer grado de la Escuela José Joaquín de Olmedo de Guayaquil - Ecuador. Es de tipo descriptiva correlacional, no experimental, de corte transversal. El grupo de estudio estuvo conformado por los 70 estudiantes, matriculados en el año lectivo 2018. El muestreo fue no probabilístico por conveniencia. La técnica de recolección de información fue la encuesta. Para la medición del clima social familiar se empleó la Escala FES y el cuestionario AQ para la agresividad. Se determinó que existe una relación inversa significativa entre el Clima Social Familiar y la Agresividad en los niños (r de Pearson= -0,426; p: 0,044). Las relaciones entre las subescalas de la dimensión relaciones familiares resaltan el rol de la cohesión familiar como elemento limitante de la agresividad.

Clima social familiar y rendimiento académico en alumnos de sexto grado de algunas escuelas públicas y privadas del noreste de México

Esta investigación descriptiva y correlacional buscó observar cuál era la relación que existía entre el clima social familiar y el rendimiento académico en 204 niños de sexto año de algunas escuelas públicas y privadas, de un municipio del noreste de México, a quienes se les administró la Escala de Clima Social Familiar de Moos, Moos y Trickett (1989). Se recogieron datos del promedio de aprovechamiento de cada estudiante en el bimestre anterior a la administración del instrumento. Al analizar los resultados obtenidos, se encontró una relación positiva entre el clima social familiar y el rendimiento académico de los alumnos del estudio. Los resultados muestran la importancia de fomentar las relaciones y la estabilidad familiar para contribuir al desempeño escolar de los estudiantes.

CLIMA SOCIAL FAMILIAR Y RESILIENCIA EN ESTUDIANTES DE 3°, 4° Y 5° AÑO DE SECUNDARIA

El objetivo de este artículo es determinar la relación que existe entre el clima social familiar en sus tres dimensiones y la resiliencia en los estudiantes de tercero, cuarto y quinto año del nivel secundario de una corporación educativa del norte del Perú. El estudio realizado fue de corte transversal y alcance descriptivo-correlacional, con una población de 394 estudiantes de 13 a 19 años. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la Escala de Clima Social Familiar FES de Moos y la Escala de Resiliencia (ER) de Wagnild y Young. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que existe relación entre el clima social familiar y la resiliencia (rs =.175, p <.05). Asimismo, la dimensión del clima social familiar “relaciones interpersonales” presenta una correlación significativa (rs =.123, p <.05) y “desarrollo personal” muestra una correlación altamente significativa con la “resiliencia” (rs =.211, p <.01). Sin embargo, la dimensión “estabilidad” y la “resiliencia” no presentan correlación significativa. A partir de los datos analizados se concluye que el clima social familiar se encuentra asociado con la resiliencia en los adolescentes de la población estudiada.

Bereavement care interventions and outcome criteria planned by community nurses in the Canary Islands

Nursing care in bereavement is complex. Primary health care is the ideal setting to support the bereaved, but we do not know much about the care plans designed by primary health care nurses in the treatment of grief. ObjectiveTo identify the outcomes criteria and interventions planned by nurses for mourners with and without complications in the Canary Islands. MethodRetrospective longitudinal study, using the electronic health records of the Canary Islands health service of people with a diagnosis of grieving, risk of complicated grieving and complicated grieving, in the period 2009–2014. ResultsNOC outcomes criteria were recorded in 67% of the mourners, and up to 24 different outcomes were identified. The main outcomes measures were Grief resolution; Psychosocial adjustment, Life change; Coping; Family coping; Family social climate and Caregiver emotional health. The remaining outcomes were present in less than 1% of the mourners. Although the outcomes criteria proposed by nurses in the mourners with and without complications were quite homogeneous, differences in interventions were found. In 67% of the cases, NIC interventions were reported. Ninety-nine different interventions were identified in the mourners; the most frequent were Emotional support; Grief work facilitation; Active listening; Coping enhancement and counselling. The remaining identified interventions were present in less than 5% of patients. The main interventions in the mourners with complications were Grief work facilitation; Coping enhancement; Active listening; Counselling and Family integrity promotion. ConclusionNurses state that there are more interventions and outcomes in mourners with complications. Given the few methodologically reliable studies that prove their effectiveness, continued research in this area is recommended.

Family and Neighborhood Influences on Meeting College Expectations in Emerging Adulthood

This study examined how family socioeconomic status and social emotional climate together with neighborhood affluence predict the probability that college attainment in emerging adulthood (20–26 years old) matched college expectations reported during adolescence. Using three waves of data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent and Adult Health ( n = 7,213, 54% female, 53% White, 21% Black, 15% Hispanic, 11% other), results from multilevel multinomial logistic models reported direct and positive effects of neighborhood and family affluence on the probability that college attainment in emerging adulthood matched or exceeded the expectations reported during adolescence. Family cohesion was associated with lower odds of overachievement. An interaction effect revealed that parents’ educational expectations were more strongly associated with college achievement outcomes in higher income families. Understanding how families and neighborhoods predict college achievement can help institutions focus on methods of intervention to best support the transition to adulthood.

Actitudes de los jóvenes ante situaciones de agravio en el entorno familiar: su relación con el género, la creencia religiosa y el clima social familiar

Los objetivos de este trabajo son desarrollar una adaptación española para jóvenes del Cuestionario de Actitudes ante Situaciones de Agravio en su versión familia (CASA-F; Moreno y Pereyra, 2000), analizar las diferencias en las actitudes ante el agravio en función del género y la creencia religiosa y establecer el poder predictivo del género, la creencia religiosa y el clima social familiar sobre las actitudes ante la ofensa de personas significativas. Los participantes fueron 230 jóvenes (edad media= 21.2), 130 mujeres y 100 hombres, quienes cumplimentaron el cuestionario CASA-F y la escala de Clima Social Familiar de Moos, Moos y Trickett (1995). Respecto al primer objetivo, los resultados apoyaron la estructural factorial del CASA-F alcanzándose adecuados criterios psicométricos. Respecto al segundo objetivo, se obtuvieron diferencias en las actitudes ante el agravio en función del género y la creencia religiosa. Por último, los análisis de regresión múltiple confirmaron la capacidad predictiva del género, la creencia religiosa y el clima social familiar sobre las actitudes prosociales de perdón y explicación.

Clima social familiar y su relación con la madurez social del niño(a) de 6 a 9 años

La presente investigación tuvo como propósito analizar la relación entre cohesión, expresividad y conflicto (clima social familiar) y la madurez social del niño(a) de 6 a 9 años. Se trabajó con una muestra de 146 alumnos que cursaban 1.ero a 4.to grados de Educación Primaria cuyas edades fluctúan entre 6 y 10 años a quienes se les aplicó la Escala del Clima Social Familiar (FES) propuesta por Moos E. J. Trickeet y adaptada a nuestra realidad por Ruiz y Guerra (1993) y la Escala de Madurez Social propuesta por Vineland (1925) adaptada por Morales (Dioses 2001). Los resultados muestran que existe relación directa entre la dimensión de relaciones del Clima Social Familiar y Madurez Social. Asimismo existe relación significativa y directa en los componentes de Cohesión y Expresividad con la madurez social, mientras que el componente de conflicto presenta una relación significativa inversa con el nivel de madurez social. Por lo tanto el Clima Social Familiar afecta de forma directa la madurez social en los niños.

Specifically, this study provides an analysis of the relationship between psychosocial perception of family social climate by a group of 550 adolescents of the Principality of Asturias (Spain) (278 girls and 272 boys 50.5%, 49.5%) and their attitudes to bullying according to a three-dimensional assessment model (planes cognitive, affective and dispositional) measures through Attitudes toward Social Aggression Scale constructed ad hoc by the authors (Moral, 2005). It has been confirmed that adolescents with more favorable attitudes to violence perceived peer more conflictual family climate, feel less affection in family relationships, express greater difficulty communicating with them, and less respect for their opinions and paternal highest demands and declared to be subject to physical and psychological punishment by their parents compared to those adolescents with more negative attitudes towards bullying violence.

Family’s Social Climate and Support System in Rural Haryana

The way in which the parents communicate with the child, the choice of words, the underlying ideas and values, the extent to which they give meaning to their experiences have a lasting impact in shaping the personality of the child. Lack of stimulation and an unresponsive environment can hamper children's overall development. In the present study, quality of home environment describes environmental stimulation provided by mothers to their children. In day to day life, mothers perform certain activities consciously or unconsciously which may become an effective stimulative channel for the development of children. The family's social climate and support system was judged by observing the home environment of the preschoolers using Mohite' s Home Environment Inventory. The results revealed that in case of language development, physical environment, variety in stimulation and discipline of children, mothers exposed their children to low level of stimulation. Moderate level stimulation was provided for encouraging social maturity among children. The poorest aspects were the physical environment and variety in stimulation, as almost none of the mothers provided high quality stimulation for these two aspects whereas in other aspects, high level stimulation was provided though by few mothers. From the above findings, it can be summarized that maternal contribution was of low quality as poor stimulation was provided by mothers.

Predicting Suicide Risks Among Outpatient Adolescents Using the Family Environment Scale: Implications for Practice and Research

This study was designed to identify characteristics of family functioning that relate to suicide potential in an outpatient adolescent population. Participants included 51 adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 who were involved in outpatient counselling. The Family Environment Scale and the Suicide Probability Scale were used to assess adolescents’ perception of family social climate and degree of suicide risk respectively. Results revealed significant correlations between suicide risk and family systems characterized by heightened conflict and lower levels of cohesion, independence, and organization. A stepwise multiple regression analysis suggested that organization (related to clarity and structure in family activities and responsibilities) was the strongest predictor of suicide risk. Implications for research and practice are considered.

Beyond abuse: the association among parenting style, abdominal pain, and somatization in IBS patients

This study assessed the relative strength of the association between abuse, negative parenting style, and somatization in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients. Drawing from preclinical stress physiology and abuse research identifying the family social climate as a frequently stronger and independent determinant of long-term health effects than abuse-specific variables, we predicted that negative parenting behaviors would more strongly correlate with somatization than abuse. Subjects were 81 consecutively evaluated patients, who at baseline underwent psychological testing, measuring perceived parental style, abuse history, somatization, and pain. Although abuse correlated with maternal and paternal rejection, abuse was not associated with somatization. Higher levels of rejection and/or hostility among fathers (not mothers) were more strongly correlated with somatization than was abuse. Further, paternal parenting behaviors were more predictive of somatization than abuse, age, and gender. The lack of an association between abuse and somatization is discussed in light of limitations of biopsychosocial IBS models, whose strong focus on “pathological stressors” (e.g., abuse, trauma) as risk factors may overlook the importance of “less extreme” parenting variables in influencing somatic complaints. The relationship between parenting and somatization is discussed in the context of broader behavioral science research linking disruptions in the quality of parenting to dramatic and long-term changes in patterns of stress reactivity and brain abnormalities seen in IBS patients.
