Work and Lifestyle Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction of Japanese Civil Servants: A 5-Year Longitudinal Study.

Although work, family, and lifestyle factors were associated with job satisfaction, prospective studies are lacking. This longitudinal study clarified the predisposing factors for job satisfaction. Datasets were obtained from the Japanese Civil Servants Study and included 1429 participants. We assessed the relationship between job satisfaction and specific work and lifestyle factors. Logistic regression analyses evaluated the association between deteriorating job satisfaction and poor work and lifestyle factors at baseline and changes in these factors at follow-up. Poor sleep quality and limited job control at baseline were associated with deterioration in job satisfaction. Furthermore, deterioration in job control and work-to-family conflict at follow-up was associated with job dissatisfaction. Work and lifestyle characteristics were associated with job dissatisfaction. Employees with limited job control and high work-to-family conflict at baseline were more likely to develop job dissatisfaction.

The Impact of Sociodemographic Factors on Job Satisfaction and Professional Burnout among Nurses in Urology Departments.

(1) Background: Job satisfaction and professional burnout directly impact human life, depending on various professional, non-professional, and private determinants. Nurses, in particular, are highly susceptible to experiencing professional burnout, which, when combined with job satisfaction, significantly affects the quality of their services. This study aimed to assess the level of job satisfaction and job burnout among nurses working in urology departments, as well as the impact of sociodemographic factors. (2) Methods: The study involved 130 nurses working in urology departments in Poland. Researchers conducted an anonymous questionnaire comprising a sociodemographic section and two standardized questionnaires: the Link Burnout Questionnaire (LBQ) and the Scale of Job Satisfaction (SSP). (3) Results: The study group demonstrated an average level of job satisfaction (17.23 points) and an average level of professional burnout, indicating potential symptoms of professional burnout such as psychophysical exhaustion (22.29 points), lack of commitment to patient relationships (20.02 points), feelings of professional ineffectiveness (17.37 points), and disappointment (19.66 points). (4) Conclusions: The levels of job satisfaction and professional burnout among nurses in urology departments are comparable to those in other departments and countries. Medical facilities should take into account factors influencing job satisfaction and the risk of professional burnout when addressing employment conditions.

Role function and job satisfaction of community nurses in China: A cross-sectional study.

To evaluate role function and job satisfaction, determine their relationship, and explore the factors influencing job satisfaction among community nurses in China. Cross-sectional study. This study was conducted between March and June 2020 on a cluster random sampling of 302 community nurses from 24 community health centres and stations in Xi'an, China. Self-reported data were collected using the Demographics Questionnaire, Role Function of Community Nurses Questionnaire, and Job Satisfaction of Community Nurses Scale. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to analyse data. Community nurses' main role function was organiser and manager (M = 2.56, SD = 0.987) and coordinator (M = 2.43, SD = 0.971). The lowest job satisfaction was for salary and benefits (M = 3.12, SD = 0.891) and personal development (M = 3.65, SD = 0.738). A positive correlation was found between the roles of caregiver, educator, navigator, and salary and benefits (p < 0.05) among community nurses. Multiple linear regression analyses indicated that monthly income and working experience in nursing explained 61.1% of the variance in job satisfaction.

This empirical study aims to explore the factors that impact job satisfaction among employees in private banks in Bangladesh, considering the prevailing atmosphere of intense competition in the country’s banking sector. Recognizing that employees are a crucial asset to any organization’s success, it is essential to explore the variables that contribute to their work contentment. The methodology adopted for this study follows a quantitative approach, employing regression analysis for scrutinizing the relationships between job satisfaction and selected variables. This study included a sample of 320 individuals employed in private banks in Bangladesh. This sample size was considered suitable for conducting a robust quantitative regression analysis. To collect the necessary data, the questionnaire was given to the bank personnel and employees via their email addresses. The survey instrument utilized in this investigation was modified from earlier research endeavors to ensure validity and reliability. To analyze the collected data, the researchers utilized the statistical software SPSS version 29.0. The regression analysis feature of SPSS was employed to test the model and hypotheses formulated for this study. The findings of the study reveal that green HR practices (β = 0.284), which encompass environmentally friendly policies and practices in human resource management, significantly contribute to employee job satisfaction. Additionally, remuneration (β = 0.224) emerges as another vital factor influencing job satisfaction. Furthermore, work environment (β = 0.298) was found to have a significant positive and highest effect among other two variables on job satisfaction levels.

Motivating Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction Among Faculty Members in Junior Colleges, with reference to Hyderabad City

Purpose: Study investigates the motivating factors such as work environment, compensation, Professional development opportunities, work-life balance, and collegial relationships influencing the job satisfaction of faculty members in junior colleges. Methodology: The study employed a quantitative research design, surveying faculty members from various junior colleges in Hyderabad. A structured questionnaire, comprising Likert scale questions and open-ended items, assessed factors influencing job satisfaction. Stratified random sampling yielded a representative sample, and data were analysed using statistical techniques, revealing significant correlations between job satisfaction and work environment, compensation, professional development opportunities, work-life balance, administrative support, and collegial relationships. Findings: The research identified that work environment, professional development opportunities, and collegial relationships were the most influential factors positively affecting faculty job satisfaction, while compensation, administrative support, and work-life balance also played significant roles. Practical Implications: Colleges can enhance faculty job satisfaction by investing in conducive work environments, offering opportunities for professional growth, fostering positive collegial relationships, addressing compensation issues, and providing adequate administrative support and work-life balance. Originality: While previous studies focused on individual factors, this research comprehensively examines multiple determinants of job satisfaction among junior college faculty members in the unique context of Hyderabad. Social Implications: Improved job satisfaction can lead to more motivated faculty, positively impacting teaching quality and, consequently, students' educational experiences and outcomes. This research contributes to faculty well-being and, by extension, the quality of education provided by junior colleges in the region. Job satisfaction of Spanish and Portuguese optometrists

PurposeGiven the increase in demand for optometry services by society and the importance of the Optometry profession in Portugal and Spain, the objective of this study was to determine job satisfaction and important factors related to this satisfaction in a sample of Portuguese and Spanish optometrists. MethodsA prospective, cross-sectional, and observational study was carried out from June to December 2021. An adaptation of the 15-item job satisfaction in eye-care personnel (JSEP) questionnaire validated by Paudel et al. was administered to Portuguese and Spanish optometrists. The questionnaire was shared through different social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, etc.) in a Google form during the months of June to December 2021 in Portugal and Spain. ResultsA total of 530 surveys were collected in Portugal (42.3%; n = 224) and Spain (57.7%; n = 306). The factors that most influence overall job satisfaction are salary, career development opportunities, recognition/prestige in society, good work-life balance (all p<0.001), workplace equipment and facilities, and encouragement reward positive feedback (both p = 0.002). When comparing the determinants of job satisfaction of optometrists, it was found that Portuguese professionals were generally more satisfied than Spanish ones (p<0.001). However, Spanish optometrists reported feeling more supported by their colleagues (p<0.001). ConclusionThis study has shown that the level of job satisfaction was higher in Portugal than in Spain. The most important factors influencing job satisfaction were salary, job stability, and support from colleagues.

Research on the Path to Improve the Employment Quality of Private College Students under the Background of Big Data

Abstract In this paper, we use space-sensitive crawler technology to obtain the initial data of college students’ employment quality research from the websites or databases of private colleges and universities. We determine the evaluation indexes of college students’ employment quality through data cleaning and conversion of the initial data. On this basis, because of the limitations of the clustering algorithm, grey correlation analysis is used to optimize the clustering algorithm, and the evaluation model of college students’ employment quality based on grey correlation optimization clustering is constructed. Then the clustering analysis of college students’ employment evaluation indexes is carried out. The results show that the main influencing factors of job satisfaction of female graduates in some disciplines such as literature, history and philosophy and education and law are family economic situation Q7 (-1.9328), participation in innovative and entrepreneurial activities Q8 (29.2178), political outlook Q11 (3.0279), and graduation destination Q13 (2.5824), and that this paper’s method is effective in revealing the key factors. This study benefits the enrichment and innovation of the research content of employment quality. It provides theoretical support for solving the problem of future employment quality of college students in private colleges and universities.

This study aims to examine the career aptitude theoretical system of Myeongli Science (命理學) from the perspective of philosophical counseling to present of a counseling plan for enhancement of job satisfaction in modern people. Accordingly, based on the career aptitude theory of Myeongli Science, statistical analysis on the influencing factors of job satisfaction was conducted, examining the relationship between actual factors in Myeongjo(命造) cases. The SPSS program was used to verify the significance of the results.&#x0D; This case study included a total of 30 office workers: 10 planning and marketing office workers, 10 national, local and public administration office workers, and 10 trade office workers. Research hypotheses of Myeongli Science included the correlation between Soyongsin(所用 神) Ohang(五行), and the Gyeokgukyongshin(格局用神) Ohang, the Johuyongsin(調候用神) Ohang and the Ounyukgi(五運六氣) Ohang and the Hang-un(行運: 大運) Ohang and the correlation between the Johuyongsin Ohang and the Ounyukgi Ohang, in turn, examine influening factors of job satisfaction.&#x0D; In the result, it is found that In the two Myeongjo with highest job satisfaction, the Soyongsin Ohang and the Gyeokgukyongshin Ohang were consistent, while the Johuyongsin Ohang and the Hang-un Ohang were inconsistent. Among them, Myeongjo, which showed 0.8 points higher job satisfaction, may be the action of other factors, but Soyongsin Ohang and Johuyongsin Ohang were consistent, and Oun(五運) Ohang and Soyongsin Ohang were consistent. It is also shown that In the two Myeongjo with lowest job satisfaction, the Soyongsin Ohang and the Gyeokgukyongshin Ohang were consistent, while the Johuyongsin Ohang and the Hang-un Ohang were inconsistent. However, the Soyongsin Ohang and the Johuyongshin Ohang were inconsistent, and the Oun Ohang were also inconsistent with the Soyongsin.&#x0D; In conclusion, the factors affecting career aptitude and job satisfaction included the Gyeokgukyongshin, the Johuyongshin, and stratum and it is also found that the Ounyukgi, which may partly predict the momentum of the Wongug, had some influence.

Determining Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment of Young Workers: Insights from Vietnam

Objective - The organizational behavior of the young workforce in a country currently in a period of golden population structure like Vietnam has been a controversial topic for domestic and foreign business owners. This study explores the relationship between job satisfaction and six factors and the impact of job satisfaction-based work effort on organizational commitment in Vietnam. Methodology/Technique – Using a sample of employees under 30 years old who have recently graduated with a modern mindset, an antecedent mediation model, regression analysis, and structural equation modeling were employed to test the research hypotheses. Findings and Novelty – The results revealed that environmental support was the most significant factor for young workers in Vietnam, followed by achievement orientation, teamwork, and work conditions. The study provides practical implications for young workers and offers suggestions for employers. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the factors that influence job satisfaction and organizational commitment among young workers in Vietnam. The Relationship of Social Capital With Job Satisfaction And The Quality of Nursing Care In Critical Care Nurses

Introduction and Objective: Social capital is an important factor influencing job satisfaction and the quality of nursing care provided by nurses. This study aimed to examine the relationship between social capital, job satisfaction, and quality of nursing care among critical care nurses working in critical care wards (CCWs). Methods: A descriptive-analytical study was carried out in 2018, on nurses working in the critical care wards (CCWs) of Mazandarn University hospitals located in Sari, Iran. The study included 195 participants who completed a demographic questionnaire, Nahapiet and Ghoshal's Social Capital Questionnaire, Spector's Job Satisfaction Survey, and the Quality Patient Care Scale. The collected data were analyzed using both descriptive (Percentages, means, and standard deviations) and analytical statistics (Analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Univariate regression analysis). Results: The study's findings demonstrated a significant and positive correlation between social capital and both job satisfaction (p=0.001) and the quality of nursing care (p=0.001). Social capital was identified as an independent variable that accounts for 20% of the changes in job satisfaction and 41% of the changes in the quality of nursing care. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of social capital in promoting job satisfaction and improving the quality of nursing care among CCW nurses. The findings demonstrate that social capital is a key factor that can significantly impact the quality of care provided to patients. Therefore, nursing managers must recognize the value of social capital and take active steps to promote it within their organizations.

Assessment of work environment factors influencing job satisfaction among mortuary staff in Nairobi City County, Kenya

Background: Job satisfaction has been widely studied as a key factor that influences efficiency and effectiveness among healthcare workforces. However, one notable category that has been largely overlooked by researchers are the mortuary staff in part because of the stigma surrounded in the topic of death leading to them working in deplorable work environments. This study sought to address this gap by examining work environment factors influencing job satisfaction among mortuary staff in selected public and private mortuaries in Nairobi City County, Kenya. Methods: Cross sectional study design, adopting qualitative and quantitative data collection was used in this study. A sample size of 193 respondents were selected from public and private mortuaries. Key Informant interviews were used to provide additional qualitative data. Results: The study revealed that the overall satisfaction level was 44.7%. Chi-square analysis revealed significant relationship between; marital status (p=0.033) and solidarity among employees in the department (p=0.024). However, other factors such as provision of the right tools and equipment (p=0.061), appropriateness of daily working hours (p=0.265) and level of staffing (p=0.264), were not statistically significant in this study. Conclusions: The study revealed a suboptimal job satisfaction level among mortuary staff in Nairobi County. This research calls for a better understanding of the dynamics of job satisfaction among mortuary staff by facility administrators as well as policy makers. Such information is integral to future policy development and decisions about appropriate strategies for intervention.

Exploring New Graduate Nurses' Perceptions of Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction and Resignation Ideation During COVID-19.

Using an observational design, new graduate nurses' perceptions of job satisfaction and resignation ideation during COVID-19 were explored. Higher job satisfaction was associated with higher self-confidence, lower stress, and working in first choice of unit. A higher likelihood of resignation ideation was associated with coworker incivility, higher stress, and not working in first choice unit. New graduate nurses need support from nursing professional development practitioners for challenges faced throughout the transition-to-practice year.

Job Insecurity, Work Environment, and Job Satisfaction: An Investigation with a Mediating Role of Job Stress

This quantitative study aims to investigate the impact of job insecurity and work environment on job satisfaction, with job stress serving as the mediating variable, within the context of a manufacturing company. Data were collected from 54 employees through questionnaire surveys. The findings reveal that job insecurity and work environment have a significant influence on job satisfaction, with work-related stress playing a significant mediating role. Interestingly, job insecurity and work environment do not directly affect job satisfaction, but their effects are mediated by job stress. The Nurturing Job Satisfaction: Social Interactions and Work Environment via Empowering Motivation

This study examined the role of social interactions, the work environment, and work motivation in influencing job satisfaction among employees at the Sekretariat Daerah Pontianak. The findings revealed significant relationships and provided insights into the dynamics of these variables. The results indicated that social interactions had a direct and significant impact on job satisfaction. Positive interactions, such as effective communication and collaboration, enhanced job satisfaction levels. Similarly, the work environment was found to influence job satisfaction, with factors such as physical conditions, organizational culture, and leadership practices playing a significant role. Work motivation was identified as another crucial factor affecting job satisfaction. Employees who were motivated and engaged in their work reported higher levels of job satisfaction. However, the study found that work motivation did not fully mediate the relationships between social interactions, the work environment, and job satisfaction. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Sekretariat Daerah Pontianak prioritize fostering positive social interactions, improving the work environment, and promoting work motivation as separate but interconnected factors in enhancing job satisfaction. The study provides valuable insights for organizational leaders and policymakers to understand the factors influencing job satisfaction. By addressing social interactions, the work environment, and work motivation, the organization can create a more satisfying work experience and ultimately improve employee well-being and performance.
