What factors affecting investment decision? The moderating role of fintech self-efficacy.

This study aims to determine, from the perspective of investors, the factors that predict Islamic unit trust (IUT) investment intentions. Additionally, this paper examines the moderating effect of fintech self-efficacy (FSE) on the relationship between attitude and investment intention. A total of 392 data were collected from IUT investors in Malaysia and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that subjective norms have the highest impact on investment intention, followed by attitude and FSE, while religiosity is not significantly associated with investment intention in Islamic unit trust funds. Attitude significantly mediates religiosity-intention and Islamic financial literacy-intention relationships. FSE significantly moderates the attitude-intention relationship. The results shed light on the key factors that increase investing behavior and have direct managerial implications with regard to marketing strategies and target markets. These findings suggest that IUT service providers should take the lead in attracting customers through effective and targeted marketing initiatives, particularly by enhancing customers' FSE and capabilities. This study provides empirical evidence on the interrelationships between Islamic financial literacy, religiosity, and FSE in examining investors' behavior using the Theory of Planned Behavior framework. The study explores the moderating role of FSE on the relationship between attitude and investment intention.

Factors Affecting Investment Decisions of Permanent School Teachers in Pokhara

Investing is the use of money to increase its worth or generate more revenue. This article has been designed to examine the factors affecting investment decision of permanent school teachers in Pokhara. This study is based on causal comparative research design. It has used structured questionnaire to collect information. Samples were selected by multi sampling technique, selecting the than Chhorepatan Resource Center by purposive sampling in the first and selecting 139 permanent school teachers by simple random sampling in the second stage. The Total population of permanent school teachers of Pokhara Metropolitan City was 1,588 and targeted population was 211. The reliability of data is checked by calculating Cronbach Alpha and it was 0.77. Accounting information (AI), Firm`s Image (FI), Advocate Recommendation (AR), Personal Financial Need (PFA) and Dividend Policy (DP) were independent variable and Investment Decision (ID) was dependent variable. This research discovered that 61.2% of permanent teachers invest their fund in equity share. Lump sum investment method was more popular than systematic investment plan and monthly investment. 80% of permanent teachers invest less than 20% of their savings. Respondents prefers both cash and stock dividend policy. Regular income was found as main objective of investment. Friends and coworker’s advice was also considering while investing in equity share. This research has also presumed that there was positive significant relation between investment decisions and decision factors. It is suggested to the investors of stock market, to analyze the fundamental factors of issuer and the issuer should follow regular dividend policy to attract the value investors toward their securities.

The trade war between China and the United States, as the two largest global economies, has had a profound impact on both countries. However, China, being a developing nation that has attracted significant interest from investment companies worldwide, has been particularly affected by this conflict. The trade war has presented numerous challenges for companies looking to invest in China, but there have been notable improvements in recent years. This study aims to delve into the examination of the influence of objective changes and subjective changes experienced by investors on the ultimate outcomes of their investments. By analyzing both the tangible and intangible factors affecting investment decisions and outcomes, a comprehensive understanding of the trade war's impact on investment in China can be gained. Objective changes refer to the concrete alterations in trade policies, tariffs, and regulations that have been implemented as a result of the trade war. These changes may include increased tariffs on certain products, revised import and export regulations, or modifications to investment laws. These objective changes can directly impact the costs, profitability, and feasibility of investments in China. On the other hand, subjective changes pertain to the perceptions, attitudes, and sentiments of investors toward investing in China amid the trade war. These subjective changes can be influenced by factors such as geopolitical tensions, market uncertainty, and the perceived risks associated with investing in a country engaged in a trade war.

Factors Affecting Investment Decisions in Private Employees in Jabodetabek

This research aims to determine the effect of financial literacy on financial risk tolerance, financial behavior, and investment decisions among private employees in Jabodetabek. Additionally, this research also aims to identify the influence of financial behavior on investment decisions, as well as the mediating role of financial risk tolerance and financial behavior in connecting the influence of financial literacy on investment decisions. The analysis method used in this study is structural equation model (SEM). The research results show that influence, financial literacy has an effect on risk tolerance, financial behavior and Investment decisions. Financial behavior does not have effect on investment decisions. Risk tolerance has an effect on financial behavior and investment decisions, and there is a partial mediating risk tolerance in connecting the influence of financial literacy on investment decisions. However, the research results also show that financial behavior does not play a partial mediator of the influence of financial literacy on investment decisions. This research is expected to provide an empirical contribution to the theory Behavioral Finance is the existence of financial behavior which refers to the actions and decisions taken by individuals related to financial management.

Generation Z’s Investment Determinants In Sharia Mutual Fund

The Sharia financial industry has developed rapidly, including Sharia banks, capital markets, and other financial products, thus providing more choices to investors who want to invest per Sharia principles. This study investigated the impact of minimum capital, Islamic financial literacy, investment risk, returns, and social media on the investment decisions of Generation Z in Islamic mutual funds. The data was collected from a questionnaire distributed in Jakarta, which yielded 390 valid responses. Regression analysis revealed that minimum capital, financial literacy, investment risk, returns, and social media significantly influence investment decisions in Islamic mutual funds. The study found that social media and investment risk were the two most significant factors affecting investment decisions, followed by minimum capital, returns, and financial literacy. The minimum capital of investors' decision-making in Sharia mutual fund investment has yet to be thoroughly explored in the literature, especially in the Indonesian context. Moreover, this study contributes to the behavior of Gen Z investors in the Islamic investment research area.

Analysis of Factors Affecting Investment Decisions and its Implications on Organizational Performance

Investment refers to the act of allocating capital with the expectation of generating a rate of return in the future. The process of making investment decisions entails a cognitive assessment that involves choosing one alternative from a range of options based on available information. Given the highly competitive global business environment, investors are compelled to thoroughly study and develop their intuition to make informed investment choices. The objective of this study is to analyze the determinants influencing Investment Decisions, which are proxied by Financial Literacy, Financial Behavior, Risk Perception, and Overconfidence, and their implications on Organizational Performance. The selection of research subjects in the Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung area is based on the Government's plan to relocate to Subang, West Java. The study employs primary quantitative data collected through non-probability sampling and purposive sampling methods, and utilizes Structural Equation Model - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings of the analysis reveal that Financial Literacy have negative effect on Investment Decisions. Conversely, Financial Behavior, Risk Perception, and Overconfidence have positive effect on Investment Decisions. Additionally, Risk Perception have positive effect on Organizational Performance. However, Financial Literacy, Financial Behavior, Overconfidence, and Investment Decisions have no effect on Organizational Performance. Consequently, it can be inferred that all factors influencing investment decisions have the capacity to influence organizational performance, an organization's overall performance cannot be solely attributed to its investment decisions, as other factors also come into play

A Study on the Factors Affecting Investment Decision of Venture Capitalist

This article examines the importance of venture capital to the financial industry and the world economy over the past 30 years. Venture capital is a powerful driver of the U.S. economy and the world economy. Further, this paper cites the research results of different authoritative authors from SSRN for a comprehensive discussion. The data source of this paper mainly uses the form of a questionnaire survey. This article mainly explores the standards and procedures used by eight venture capital firms when making investments. These criteria are generating deal sourcing, investment selection decision, tools and factors in the evaluation, contracting and structuring the investments, monitoring and post-investment value-added, VCs' exit, firm internal structure, and relationships. In the end, this paper refers to the importance of factors for venture capital firms to make decisions in different periods. Comparing different research results, it is shown that not only eight factors are the factors that determine venture capital firms' investment decisions, but also luck is part of the reference factor.

Conducted in Singopadu Village, Indonesia, the research employed a quantitative associative design with a sample of 100 participants selected through random sampling. Primary data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS. The findings reveal significant influences of financial literacy, financial behavior, and employment status on investment decisions. The study emphasizes the importance of promoting financial literacy and cultivating positive financial behaviors to enhance investment choices, providing valuable insights for researchers and policymakers alike.

Factors Affecting Investment Decisions of Employees Working on Financial and Non-Financial Sectors: A Case of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Nepal

The emergence of the financial market favorably influences the economy. The choices of an individual engaging in the financial market have a crucial part in setting the market trend, which subsequently affects the economy. This research seeks to examine the variables impacting the investment choices of people functioning in financial and non-financial sectors. The research employs a social survey design, based on 280 samples obtained by a structured questionnaire employing a convenience sampling approach. The study was restricted to the Pokhara metropolitan city of Nepal. Descriptive Statistics, Chi-square test, t-test, ANOVAs, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were utilized to fulfill the study goals. The study demonstrates that there is no substantial difference between personnel working in the financial and non-finance industries on herding, market, heuristic and demographic component. However, people working in the financial industry examine more economic aspects and the total investment performance is greater for employees working in the financial sector. Further, the research reveals that self-confidence, market information, the recommendation of professionals, minimization through portfolio diversification and high-income level increases in interest in investment were the significant influential factors affecting investment decisions of an employee working in financial and non-financial institutions. The CFA establishes a significant link between observable variables and their fundamental constructs. The path analysis demonstrates that Market, Herding, Knowledge and Economic factors has a favorable influence on investment choices. The regulatory authority and related institutions should equip investors in respect of both economic and behavioral elements to make a smart investment choice.

Critical Factors Affecting Investment Decisions of Individual Investors: A Case of Stock Market in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The stock market is a vital capital channel for the economy and a potential investment channel for investors. Thus, the study explored the key factors affecting individual investors' stock investment decisions in the Ho Chi Minh City stock market. Based on a survey data set of 700 individual investors of securities companies in Ho Chi Minh City, the authors used structural equation modelling (SEM) and SPSS 20.0, Amos software. The results empirically identified five factors affecting individual investors' investment decisions: profitability and stability, growth potential, behavioural finance, market psychology, and macro-environmental factors. The article's findings were to find out five key factors that had a substantial impact on the investment behaviour of individual investors and were significant statistically. This result was a scientific basis to propose practical personal investment implications, primarily focusing on enhancing effective investment. Finally, the study offered recommendations to improve investment laws and policies to attract domestic and foreign stock market investors.

This study focuses on examining how the effect of profitability, debt policy, investment opportunity set and firm size with growth opportunity as a moderating variable on investment decisions. This study has a population of basic and chemical industrial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016 – 2020. The research data used is secondary data with an observation period of 5 years. Determination of this sample using purposive sampling with several criteria. Thus, obtained 37 samples of companies used in this study. This study also uses Moderation Regression Analysis (MRA) as the method of analysis. The results of this study are profitability and firm size have a significant and positive effect on investment decisions, while debt policy and investment opportunity sets have a significant negative effect on investment decisions. Growth opportunity can moderate the relationship between debt policy and investment decisions, but on the other hand growth opportunity is not able to moderate the relationship between profitability, investment opportunity set and company size on investment decisions.

Retail Investor’s Investment Decision Criterion to Invest in IPOs - A Study

Initial Public Offering is a kind of public offering by the companies to generate the funds from primary market for the first time. Individual investors are becoming rational to investment in Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) to gain from the listing and hold for short or long term profits. They use different strategies to gain from the IPOs. The present study examines the retail investor’s criterion to invest in IPOs. For this purpose, a questionnaire was developed and administered to 724 sample respondents in Hyderabad and Secunderabad city. The responses are processed in SPSS - 26 version and applied few statistical tools i.e., descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Factor Analysis for interpretation of the results. The present study reveals that retail investor’s investment decision is based on the quota of equity shares available to retail investors in IPO, Equity Participation by Financial Institutions & Foreign Institutional Investors and followed by Price band. Further, the researcher founds that there is a significant variation in means among retail investors on Industry and Sector that Company Issues the IPO and Terms of Issue related to IPOs. The study concludes that, most of the investor’s investment decisions are based on market attractiveness and corporate image. Further the study may be useful to conduct the research in the following directions, to measure the investor’s perception and behavior towards in participation of IPOs, Factors affecting investment decision of retail investors in different geographical areas in India.

An integrated generalized TODIM model for portfolio selection based on financial performance of firms

Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) models are well-suited for solving portfolio selection problems. Diversified financial indices and complex subjective preferences are important factors affecting investment decisions within the MCDM framework. Therefore, this study adopts a well-known behavioral MCDM model called generalized TODIM (TOmada de Decisão Iterativa Multicritério) for portfolio selection based on the financial performance of firms. First, a multidimensional financial evaluation index system is proposed for financial performance evaluation, which is the most appropriate approach for stock investment within a long-term horizon. Second, features are selected from the financial ratios using affinity propagation clustering (APC). Through the APC algorithm, financial ratios with a strong influence on stock evaluation can be obtained. Third, a generalized TODIM method with entropy weight is used to calculate the dominance relation between stocks and reflect investors’ bounded rational behaviors. Fourth, an extended mean–variance multi-objective portfolio selection model that considers financial and stock market performance is constructed. The compromise solution is used when solving the multi-objective optimization programming. Finally, a case study on medical stock investment in the Chinese stock market is examined to recommend the optimal portfolio allocation for investors. Sensitivity and comparative analyses are performed to demonstrate the robustness, effectiveness, and superiority of the proposed methodology.

Factors Affecting Investment Decision in Nepal

This article, Factors Affecting Investment Decision in Nepal, has focused on the macroeconomics factors (gross domestic product, interest rate, and government expenditure) affecting the investment decision during 1975/762017/18. Based on time-series dataata macro level, this study employed Engel Grangerco integration test, as well as error correction model, investigated the short-and long-run causal relationship between gross investment and the factors influencing the investment decision of the investors, and found a statistically significant relationship between gross investment and macroeconomic variables. Furthermore, the coefficient of error correction term (-0.90) implied around a 90percent conversion to the equilibrium, showing a steady, long-run relationship between regress and regressors.
