Background: Temporomandibular disorder (TMD), according to the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP), is a collection of painful and/or dysfunctional diseases affecting the masticatory muscles, temporomandibular joints (TMJs), and associated tissues. This can be treated effectively by the manual mobilization. Objective: To find out the effectiveness of mobilization on craniomandibular index in Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction among college students. Methods: It is a quasi-experimental pre and post type study performed among 40 college students, both boys and girls, with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, selected through convenient sampling of the age group 18–25 years, with a Craniomandibular index score of more than 0.50. The selected group is treated with a 4 week mobilization to see the effectiveness of the treatment. Outcome measure: Cranio Mandibular Index which encloses of the mandibular movement, range of motion, joint palpation ,muscle palpation, TMJ noise. Results: The results show that there was a significant improvement in the mean values of the craniomandibular index score after mobilization, with a mean difference of 0.32 ± 0.05. Conclusion: The study concluded that mobilization is an effective treatment approach for temporomandibular joint dysfunction among college students.
