ELECTROOSMOTIC FLOW OF MICROPOLAR NANOFLUID THROUGH A NON-DARCY POROUS MEDIA WITH VON NEUMANN STABILITY CONDITION

This study investigates the action of time-periodic temperature and nanoparticle concentration divergence on electroosmotic micropolar Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow through a non-Darcy porous medium and over an infinite vertical plate. The effects of viscous and Ohmic dissipation, heat source, thermal radiation, Dufour trait, and chemical reaction are considered. The complicated system of differential equations which governs the problem is transformed into a system of nonlinear algebraic equations by using the finite difference method. Numerical results for the velocity, microrotation velocity, temperature, and nanoparticle concentration distributions, as well as the skin friction, reduced Nusselt number, and Sherwood number, are obtained. It is noted that the velocity becomes greater with an escalating Helmholtz-Smoluchowski velocity. Meanwhile, it elevates when rising in chemical reaction order. The enriching in thermophoresis parameter causes a dwindling influence on the nanoparticle concentration while also causing an increase in temperature. This study is significant in many diverse medical implementations as nanoparticles are utilized in the treatment of cancerous tumors.

AbstractThis study primarily explores the influence of the Hall current on Powell–Eyring nanofluid within the framework of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow over an extending surface. The research comprehensively explores critical factors, including heat source, radiation, thermophoresis, and Brownian motion, utilizing a combination of partial differential equations (PDEs) and ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Subsequently, these equations are mathematically elucidated using the fourth‐order Runge–Kutta method in MATLAB under specified boundary conditions. The study aims to provide new insights into the complex interplay among the Hall current, heat source, radiation, thermophoresis, and Brownian motion. Within the MHD framework, the equations for momentum, energy, and nanoparticle concentration are systematically derived. Major findings reveal the significant influence of the Hall current and magnetic field strength on fluid flow behavior, indicating potential control mechanisms for optimizing heat transfer in nanofluid‐based industrial processes. That nanoparticle distribution also offers valuable insights for tuning nanofluid properties. The study emphasizes the importance of visual representation through graphs and tables. These outcomes contribute to a more comprehensive consideration of nanoparticle behavior, with practical implications for optimizing complex industrial systems using nanofluid.

Irreversibility analysis of Eyring Powell nanofluid flow in curved porous channel

AbstractThe aim of this study is to minimize entropy in the MHD Eyring‐Powell fluid through a semi‐porous curved channel. The flow phenomena are examined under the consideration of joule heating, viscous heating, thermophoresis, and Brownian motion. The motivation of this research is to minimize entropy production in curved porous channel because thermal systems become more efficient as a result of decreased energy consumption, operational expenses, and experimental costs. This approach is useful in designing industrial equipment that requires efficient thermal management, such as fuel cells, chemical processing, and advanced refrigeration systems. The coupled boundary layer equations of the problem are highly nonlinear PDEs, which are transformed into systems of coupled ODEs by using similarity variables. The solution of a coupled system of ODEs is obtained numerically via Bvp4c. The effect of several physical parameters for entropy analysis, Bejan number, concentration, and velocity/temperature are illustrated and analyzed using graphs. Furthermore, the computational outcomes of physical quantities, for example, heat and mass transfer rate are also presented. Results indicated that the increasing value of the Reynolds number increases the entropy generation rate, while the reverse tendency is noticed for the Eyring‐Powell parameter. The rising values of the Brownian parameter increase the Bejan number after its decrease, while reverse behavior is observed for the thermophoresis parameter.

Numerical evaluation for the peristaltic flow in the proximity of double-diffusive convection of non-Newtonian nanofluid under the MHD

This article mainly studies the 2-D propagation of a non-compressible Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow through a stretched wedge under the Magneto-hydrodynamic effect. Equations for temperature, concentration, double-diffusive convection and momentum are taken into consideration. Since solving the dimensionless equations associated with our study is an uphill task, we utilize the MATLAB bvp4c solver to illustrate the graphical performance of different parameters. This manuscript may be significant in the projects in the field of industry and medicine. The manuscript's noteworthy features include the magnetic field, heat source-sink parameter, double diffusivity, and solar radiation process. The main finding is that the local fluid parameter k1 and magnetic field parameter M decelerate the velocity of nanofluid. Because different nanoparticles have different effects on fluids, the fluid's temperature exhibits multiple behaviors, therefore by escalating the Prandtl number initially, it increases and then decelerates due to the presence of nanoparticles. The concentration of fluid declines as the Schmidt number rises. The double diffusivity of Eyring-Powell nanofluid improves with magnification in the fluid's Schmidt number Sc and Prandtl number Pr.

Abstract Recently, experts have become particularly interested in the treatment of disorders caused by magnesium shortage. Hypomagnesemia is produced by a magnesium deficit in the blood, which is an additional stimulation for different diseases such as vomiting, drowsiness, nausea, loss of appetite, and so on. To compensate for this shortage, magnesium is injected as a nanoparticle in the blood (base fluid). The properties of these magnesium nanoparticles specifically their size, dispersion, and surface characteristics are crucial for optimizing their bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy. Advanced material characterization techniques ensure the stability and enhanced performance of these nanoparticles in the physiological environment. Based on these applications, the current research aims to address magnesium deficiency via Powell–Eyring nanofluid flow distorted by the linearly stretchable sheet in the region of the stagnation point. Linear thermal stratification, viscous dissipation, and Joule heating are used to reveal the heat transport features. The magnetic field is applied to the nanofluid at an angle α to further control the fluid dynamics and nanoparticle behavior. Transformations are used to create a set of dimensionless governing equations. Comparative graphs are used to explain the physical behaviors of temperature and velocity fields, demonstrating how material properties impact fluid dynamics. The well-known convergence method (homotopy analysis method) is used to solve the model by comparing graphs.

The current study is inspired to investigate the influences of essential flow dynamics including magnetic field, variable dynamic viscosity, Joule heating, viscous dissipation, porous medium dissipation, heat source, thermal radiation, and convective heating on the mixed convection flow of Eyring-Powell Cu − water nanofluid trough an inclined microchannel in the presence of Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium. The governing mathematical model equations are formulated, converted into dimensionless and thereafter solved numerically in the MATLAB software via Bvp4c-package. The influences of the embedded dimensionless parameters on heat transfer behaviours and entropy generations are displayed trough graphs as well as their physical interpretations are discussed in detail. Consequently, it is revealed that the performance of microchannel thermal system is improved by factors such as injection/suction of fluids, Eyring-Powell fluid, magnetic field, non-Darcy porous medium, Cu − nanoparticles, thermal radiation and convective heating. The drag coefficient and Nusselt number augment with viscous dissipation, variable dynamic viscosity, Darcy porous medium, angle of inclination, Prandtl number and heat source. Moreover, the Nusselt number at around the left and right walls vicinity shows an opposite behaviour with escalating values of the Biot number and thus convective transfer of heat around the microchannel walls is remarkably important. Furthermore, the minimization of net entropy generation rate is achieved with Eyring-Powell fluid, magnetic field, Cu − nanoparticles, thermal radiation and convective heating but it escalates with variable dynamic viscosity, viscous dissipation, angle of inclination, heat source and Prandtl number. Indeed, the irreversibility due to the robust influence of porous medium shows dual behaviours on the net entropy generation rate. Finally, the numerical results are also validated by comparing with the results of already existing literatures and hence, a sounding agreement is attained.

Role of nanomaterial on irreversibility and heat transport due to stretching surface driven blood flow in the view of Buongiorno and Tiwari-Das models

Our primary goal is to observe the dual diffusion and volumetric friction of injected nanoparticles in blood flow simultaneously. TheEyring–Powell fluid is speculated as blood on the basis of shear thinner behavior. The entropy formation in the region of stagnationin MHD Eyring–Powell nanofluid flow is scrutinized. The flow is produced by stretchable surface. The impacts of slip mechanism viscous dissipation and melting heating are included in the current analysis. The single and two phase model are used as coupled model to inquire the effects of nanomaterials. System of PDEs are achieved and reduced to ODEs using appropriate variables. The reduced ODEs are solved using RK-4 methodology. It is evident that blood flow is greatly influenced by Lorentz forces and fluid primary parameter. On the other hand, the secondary and increased volumetric rate encourage the flow of blood. The blood temperature is rising function of thermophoresis, Eckert and magnetic parameter. Similar trend for solutal profile was noted against Brownian and Lewis number. The system irreversibility are rising with Brinkman, magnetic and diffusion variable. The coefficient of energy transport rate and frictional drag are rising function of material parameters and volumetric concentration of injected nanomaterial. It is interesting to see that nearly all profile show comparable trend with higher concentration of nanomaterials.

Nonsimilar analysis of ternary hybrid Eyring–Powell nanofluid flow over a linearly stretching surface

Purpose This study investigates the flow and heat transfer in a magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) ternary hybrid nanofluid (HNF), considering the effects of viscous dissipation and radiation.Design/methodology/approach The transport equations are transformed into nondimensional partial differential equations. The local nonsimilarity (LNS) technique is implemented to truncate nonsimilar dimensionless system. The LNS truncated equation can be treated as ordinary differential equations. The numerical results of the equation are accomplished through the implementation of the bvp4c solver, which leverages the fourth-order three-stage Lobatto IIIa formula as a finite difference scheme.Findings The findings of a comparative investigation carried out under diverse physical limitations demonstrate that ternary HNFs exhibit remarkably elevated thermal efficiency in contrast to conventional nanofluids.Originality/value The LNS approach (Mahesh et al., 2023; Khan et al., 20223; Farooq et al., 2023) that we have proposed is not currently being used to clarify the dynamical issue of HNF via porous media. The LNS method, in conjunction with the bvp4c up to its second truncation level, yields numerical solutions to nonlinear-coupled PDEs. Relevant results of the topic at hand, obtained by adjusting the appropriate parameters, are explained and shown visually via tables and diagrams.

Numerical simulation of bio-magnetic nanofluid flow in the human circulatory system

The investigation of the rheological properties of bio-magnetic nanofluid in the human circulatory system has attracted the attention of biomedical engineers, medical professionals and researchers in recent days to explore the potential of utilizing magnetic field in the diagnosis of cancer cells, thrombosis and cardiovascular diseases. The Eyring-Powell fluid model was employed in this investigation because it accurately captures the non-Newtonian features of blood owing to its shear thinning and stress relaxation qualities. The present study illustrates the importance of the induced magnetic field on Eyring-Powell nanofluid flow across three distinct geometries (stagnation point, plate, and wedge) with the presence of gyrotactic microorganisms. The investigation of different geometries provides essential information regarding their practical applications, such as the development of targeted therapies for localized drug delivery, the dissolution of blood clots to promote clot breakdown, the enhancement of drug delivery to specific regions, the prevention of biofilm formation on vessel walls, the promotion of improved blood flow, and the reduction of plaque for arterial health. The conversion of fluid transport equations into ordinary differential equations has been achieved through the utilization of appropriate self-similarity variables. The magnetic Prandtl number and the magnetic parameter both show a decrease with an increase in the induced magnetic field. The magnitude of concentration increases with the elevation of both the Bio convective constant and the Peclet number. The skin friction coefficient is increased to the higher values of the fluid parameter in all three geometries. Nusselt number and Sherwood number both increase to the higher values of the thermophoresis parameter across the plate, wedge, and stagnation point. The Peclet and bioconvective numbers increase the concentration of motile organisms across the plate, wedge, and stagnation point geometries.

Numerical study of TC4-NiCr/EG+Water hybrid nanofluid over a porous cylinder with Thompson and Troian slip boundary condition: Artificial neural network model

In the fluidic system, Hall and Ion slip parameters play a critical role in reducing heat dissipation. In the present work, mathematical equations of Eyring–Powell nanofluid are used to simulate the behaviour of partially ionized bioconvection fluid for heat and mass transfer, gyrotactic microorganisms motion in the presence of a magnetic field, Hall and Ion slip, Cattaneo–Christov heat flux and heat source/sink effects. Convective boundary conditions are used. The governing partial differential equations with boundary conditions resulting from the flow of Eyring–Powell nanofluid are transformed into nonlinear system and then computed using the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The impacts of all the non-dimensional parameters on the velocities, temperature, nanoparticles concentration, and density of gyrotactic microorganisms are depicted and explained by using the graphs with varying values. There exists a nice agreement between the present and published work.

Influence of Dofour and Soret on Eyrig-Powell Nanofluid Flow from A Circular Cylinder with Viscous Dissipation

The impact of Viscous dissipation on the heat and mass transfer characteristics of an Eyring Powell nanofluid flow past a horizontal circular cylinder is intensively investigated in the presence of Dufour and Soret effects. Flow analysis is taken near the stagnation point. MHD effect is considered for controlling turbulence. Rosseland model is applied for the estimation of heat flux. The governing system of PDE’S is converted into highly nonlinear ODE’S by utilizing suitable similarity transformations along with the boundary conditions. The resulting coupled systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODE), accompanied by boundary conditions, are solved using the powerful bvp4c method in MATLAB software. The physical significance of evolved parameters is investigated by graphs and tables. Nusselt number and skin friction are analyzed for several parameters. It is observed that the increase in the MHD effect rises the velocity but lessens the temperature profile and the concentration of the fluid declines when the chemical reaction parameter is incremented. The specific application of the study is that the Eyring-Powell is used in a variety of industrial applications, including lubrication, plastics processing, and oil drilling.
