Implementation of Pancasila Student Profile in Building the Character of SMK Students in the Field of Accounting

The purpose of this study is to create the character of students of the accounting program and the expertise of teachers at SMK N 1 Purwodadi, the current research seeks to study the application of strengthening of student profiles Pancasila as well as to identify the challenges faced by teachers in the project strengthening student profile Pancasilla (P5) and to detail the ways in which they cope with such challenges. In this research use qualitative methods. The location of the research is SMK N 1 Purwodadi in Danyang, Purwodadi Kec, Grobogan district, Central Java 58113. The school's address is Prince Diponegoro No. 24 Sambak. Interviews, observations, and documentation are the methods used to gather data. The student profile program of Pancasila is now available at SMK N 1 Purwodadi. To develop a better character, it is important to learn to fear the One God and to have the ability to think nobly, creatively, and critically in every productive lesson. In the middle of the semester, SMK N 1 Purwodadi organizes P5 activities for students whose work is entitled entrepreneurship projects. It gives students the opportunity to be creative and produce works that can be sold to the public. Lack of time and teacher involvement is a problem in this effort, to address this, teachers can put more emphasis on student support through social media marketing and other forms of active and participatory learning about entrepreneurship.

Bringing Dance to Older Adults: Program Experts' Perspectives on the Role of Community Dance Classes to Support Older Adults.

Dancing offers several health and wellness benefits for older adults: it may promote physical literacy (PL) and positively influence the aging process. Yet, limited research considers the perspectives of those with experience working with older adults and in community dance programming. The purpose of this study was to understand program experts' perspectives on how older adult community dance can promote PL and contribute to age-friendly cities and community initiatives. Four themes were identified from semi-structured interviews with five program experts: (1) expert instructors tailor classes to participants' needs and interests; (2) the heart of what draws us to dancing: authentic experience and social connection; (3) elitist, ableist, and gendered assumptions of dance prevent social inclusion of older adults in dancing spaces; and (4) collaboration across sectors is needed to offer accessible, sustainable, and valued dance programming. Recommendations for developing and implementing older adult community dance programming are described.

“Always Trying to Dig Deeper”: The Enactment of Teaching Expertise as an Emotion-Laden Continual Learning Process

Background or Context: Amid a backdrop of increasing deprofessionalization of teaching and teacher education, education researchers and reformers continue to highlight the complexity and expertise of these professions. Expertise-as-process (Bereiter & Scardamalia, 1993) is a conception of expertise that eschews the traditional focus on accumulated knowledge, emphasizing instead expertise as a process of identifying new challenges and using challenges to continue learning. Although this conception has been used to inform thinking regarding expertise more broadly, it has rarely been applied in empirical studies of teaching and teacher education. Purpose, Objective, Research Question, or Focus of Study: Using expertise-as-process as a framework for analysis, this instrumental case study focuses on one expert literacy teacher/teacher educator who enacted expertise as a continual learning process. Research Design: The case study draws from 18 months of data collection to examine the lived enactment of expertise-as-process through praxis. The study focuses on the focal participant’s planning, teaching, professional learning, collaborative discussions, and recollections of her 20+-year career as a high school English teacher and teacher educator. Conclusions or Recommendations: The focal participant enacted progressive problem-solving by engaging in complex thinking about teaching and students, actively seeking opportunities to improve her teaching, and involving collaborators in these pursuits. This approach to teaching was accompanied by diverse emotions: passion, care, anxiety, and dissatisfaction. This case study provides a detailed picture of an expert teacher’s practice across domains through a theoretical lens rarely used to understand expertise in the teaching profession, and adds a needed emotional dimension to the research on teacher expertise and on expertise more broadly.

Educational Services for Disabled Children at SDN Umbul Kapuk, Serang City

This research discusses educational services for children with disabilities at SDN Umbul Kapuk Serang City. In this study, the formulation of the problem is how educational services for children with disabilities at SDN Umbul Kapuk Serang City. The purpose of the research is to understand the educational services for children with disabilities at SDN Umbul Kapuk Serang City. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative method approach. The results of the research in the implementation of the inclusive education program at SDN Umbul Kapuk Kota Serang include public schools, the participation of residents plays a very small or less active role, their role is only limited if they have hyperactive children. Community participation in planning, if residents have suggestions they convey in the meeting forum or through the association. The school in decision-making in the inclusive education program, namely every activity in any form that will be implemented, will be discussed in advance with school residents as a result of decisions from deliberations and meetings. School community participation in evaluating the implementation of inclusive education programs includes school residents always providing input on programs that have been carried out by schools through meetings and also proposing counseling activities about dealing with special students. The school does not yet have a special assistant teacher (GPK) because of the limited training for teachers to teach inclusive classes and so far there has been no good from the government. For class design, it is designed to be as comfortable as possible to facilitate learning such as space areas, subject matter is generally the same as other students, physical training is prioritized, learning evaluation includes making improvements, receiving suggestions such as input from peer teachers or through discussions with expert teachers or teachers who teach in inclusive schools, inhibiting and supporting factors are the low knowledge of school residents about inclusive education.

Digital teaching: Developing a structured digital teaching competency framework for medical teachers

Aim To explore the core competencies needed on part of the medical and dental teachers to carry out effective digital teaching for their students. Methods It was a qualitative study which employed phenomenological approach. The data were collected from 12 teachers who were purposively selected for semi-structured interviews. They were all expert digital teachers. The data were transcribed verbatim, coded and analyzed thematically. Textural and structural description of the themes helped to develop a new competency framework. Results The data yielded 47 selective codes with 15 sub-themes and five themes. The emergent themes included general digital competencies, specific digital teaching competencies, mastery of the subject matter, mastery of pedagogical strategies and proficiency in using innovative digital technologies for teaching. The themes 1, 2 and 5 relate to digital competencies only whereas the themes 3 and 4 are generic competencies which apply to both digital and non-digital teaching. These generic competencies form the basis of all kinds of teaching, hence equally important for digital teaching. Conclusion Medical teachers should possess diverse digital competencies. The competency framework that emerged in the current research encompasses the essential attributes that should be included in any future training program aiming at the digital capacity building of the teachers. This will keep them primed for effective digital teaching. Given its crucial importance, the digital teaching competency should be considered as a cross-cutting competency that applies to almost all of the famous eight roles of medical teacher.

Development of a mathematics module on circle material based on the small group discussion model

This research aims to produce a mathematics module on circle material based on the small group discussion model to improve learning outcomes. The fact is that there are 48% of students who get low mathematics learning outcomes. Another fact is that at the high school level, 62% of students in circle material scored below the minimum completeness criteria. Urgent development research was carried out to produce circular module products. The method in this research is research and development (RD). The subjects and objects of the research were high schools and there were 32 students. Data collection techniques, material expert instruments, teachers, and student data were also obtained from the results of student pre-tests and post-tests. The data was analyzed by adding up all the assessment scores on the instruments adding up the test results and averaging the individual and classical scores. The results, and assessment of all module components by material experts, mathematics teachers, small group trials, and large group trials were 88.29%, 90.45%, 93.50%, and 92.10% in the very good category. The average score of students' post-test results is 87.50. Conclusion, this circle module can improve student learning outcomes significantly.

E-pocket book media PBL-based for problem solving ability and student learning motivation

This study is based on students’ inability to solve problems in psychotropic material, which is caused by students' low reasoning power and tendency to memorize the material. To address these issues, consider using PBL-based e-pocket book media used for this study. The purpose of this study is to develop e-pocket book media based on PBL that are feasible, practical, and effective in improving students' problem-solving skills and motivating them to learn. The research was conducted in November 2022 - May 2023. The RnD research method was used in conjunction with the ADDIE development design. Interview guidelines, learning observations, expert assessment sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and student motivation questionnaires in learning were used to assess learning. The qualitative data analysis was obtained from media and material expert advice, teacher and student response questionnaires, student motivation questionnaires, learning observations, and interviews. The validation result of media experts yielded a quantitative 96% very feasible category while material expert validation yielded a 92% very feasible category. The results of the teacher's response questionnaire were 91%, while the student response was 89% in the very practical category. A questionnaire on student motivation in learning after using e-pocket book media was also obtained by 86%. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test, show the result where Tcount>Ttable. It can be concluded that PBL-based e-pocket book media is very feasible and practical to use in learning and can improve students' problem-solving abilities on psychotropic material and motivate students in learning.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF A LEADERSHIP COMPETENCY MODEL TO ENHANCE CHINESE VOCABULARY TEACHING AT CONFUCIUS INSTITUTES IN KENYA

The purpose of this study was to develop a leadership competency model to enhance Chinese vocabulary teaching at Confucius Institutes in Kenya. The objectives of this study were: 1) to explore the factors affecting the leadership competency of teachers; 2) to determine the levels of leadership competency of Chinese vocabulary teachers in Kenya; 3) to test the practical effect of sound change law in Chinese vocabulary teaching; and 4) to develop and verify a leadership model to improve the teaching effect of Chinese vocabulary at Confucius Institutes in Kenya. There were 308 students from the Confucius Institutes at the University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University who participated in the study. The data was analyzed through content analysis, descriptive statistics, and a paired samples t-test. The results of the survey showed that the supportive leadership approach (M = 4.32, SD = 0.46) was the style mainly used by Chinese language teachers. The results of the paired samples t-test indicated that the Chinese vocabulary test scores of thirty students after they received instruction on the sound change law was significantly higher than before they received instruction on the sound change law. The results of the paired samples t-test of competency indicated that the score of five expert teachers after they received leadership competency training was significantly higher than before they received the training. Therefore, the effectiveness of Chinese vocabulary teaching at the Confucius Institutes in Kenya can be enhanced by improving the leadership competency of teachers.

Incorporating a Three-Dimensional Printed Airway into a Pediatric Flexible Bronchoscopy Curriculum.

Although hands-on simulation plays a valuable role in procedural training, there are limited tools available to teach pediatric flexible bronchoscopy (PFB). Fellowship programs rely on patient encounters, with inherent risk, or high-cost virtual reality simulators that may not be widely available and create education inequalities. Our objective was to study the educational value and transferability of a novel, low-cost, three-dimensional-printed pediatric airway model (3D-AM) for PFB training. Our central hypothesis was that the 3D-AM would have high educational value and would be easily transferrable to learners at different teaching hospitals. The 3D-AM was designed to teach technical bronchoscopy skills, airway anatomy, airway pathology, and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL). The curriculum was offered to incoming fellows in pediatric pulmonology, pediatric surgery, and pediatric critical care across three different teaching institutions. After course completion, each participant assessed the simulation model(s) with a 5-point Likert scale across six domains: physical attributes, realism of experience, ability to perform tasks, value, relevance, and global impression. The expert instructors assessed the learners' competency using a modified version of the Bronchoscopy Skills and Tasks Assessment Tool. A total of 14 incoming fellows participated in the course. The mean scores for the 3D-AM across all six domains and across the three institutions was between 4 and 5, suggesting that learners generally had a favorable impression and a similar experience across different institutions. All learners "agreed" or "strongly agreed" that the course was a valuable use of their time, helped teach technical skills and airway anatomy, and would be useful for extra training during fellowship. Most of the learners correctly identified anatomy, bronchomalacia, and performed a BAL. Wall trauma was observed in 36% of learners. The utility, low cost, and transferability of this model may create opportunities for PFB training across different institutions despite resource limitations in the United States and abroad.

Nature Of Science (NOS) Learning Module Development Oriented to Improve Students Scientific Literacy

This research is research and development (R&D). The object of research is the science learning module containing Nature of Science (NOS). This research is a Four-D model. This development model consists of four stages, namely the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research instrument used in the study was a validation sheet by 3 experts (language expert, material expert, media expert), and 1 teacher and student responses. The results of the validation test results by experts are linguists (87.36), material experts (86.99), and media experts (88.52%), and teacher expert validation (88.23%). The results of the small group trial with the pretest of 44.44% and the posttest reaching 77.8%, the results of the medium group trial with the percentage of scientific literacy of students at the pretest by 50% and at the posttest reaching 77.78% and the results of the large group trial with the percentage of scientific literacy of students at the pretest of 38.59% and at the posttest reaching 80.35%. Based on this percentage, the science learning module containing the nature of science (NOS) which is oriented to improving students' scientific literacy is effective to use. Student responses to the module with a percentage of 87.26%.

English Game Website-Based Development for Fifth Grade Elementary School Students in First Semester

Human life has entered the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, where technology plays an important role in human life. Likewise, teaching and learning activities are currently being collaborated with technology. However, in practice, many schools still tend to use conventional methods in teaching. Conventional methods This makes students tend to feel bored in participating in learning. Many learning methods have been developed which are considered effective in increasing student enthusiasm for learning. One of the effective, interactive, innovative, and attractive methods for students that can be used is the gamification method. This study aims to develop learning media in digital games for elementary school students learning English. The Design and Development (D&D) methodology and the ADDIE development model were used in this study. The subjects in this study were five fifth-grade elementary school students. Data collection methods in research are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Furthermore, data analysis was carried out using descriptive qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The data obtained are (1) the results of the design and development of learning media using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). (2) results of product effectiveness and validity data from expert judgment, teachers, and users (students). Based on the results of expert judges, website game-based learning English media products are considered very valid as English learning media. Likewise, the English teacher and five fifth-grade students considered games very effective as learning media to increase learning motivation.

Development of Student Worksheets Assisted by Powtoon Media on Elasticity and Hooke's Law to Improve Student Learning Outcomes

This research is a type of development research (Research and Development). with the aim of knowing the quality (Validity, Practicality, and effectiveness) of student worksheets assisted by Powtoon media on the material Elasticity and Hooke's Law. This research is a type of development research that refers to 4-D Model development research consisting of four development stages, namely Defining, Designing, Developing, and Disseminating. After being validated by 3 validators, a limited trial was carried out by 36 class XI participants at SMA Negeri 1 Kabila. Data collection techniques in this research used expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and student learning outcome tests. The research results show that validation is in the "valid" category. The practicality of students' worksheets assisted by Powtoon media can be seen from the results of the implementation of learning in class, and teachers and students show the category "very well implemented." It can be concluded that the worksheet for students developed with the help of Powtoon media has met the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective so that it is suitable for use in physics learning at school. The difference between this research and research conducted by researchers lies in the media used, the materials used, and the location studied. Another difference is that researchers only use 3 stages in the four-D model, namely define, design, and develop.

THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE EMPOWERMENT OF ZAKAT, INFAQ, AND SADAQAH IN THE GURU NGAJI BERDAYA PROGRAM: A CASE STUDY OF LAZIS NURUL FALAH OF SURABAYA

Poverty is a problem that cannot yet be completely resolved, especially for Qur’an teachers in remote areas of Indonesian. Islam as rahmatan lil alamin can provide solutions to these problems by optimizing Islamic philanthropic instruments such as zakat, infaq, and sadaqah by ZIS institutions, one of which is LAZIS Nurul Falah of Surabaya in the Guru Ngaji Berdaya program. This research aims to determine the optimality of ZIS funds in the Guru Ngaji Berdaya program at LAZIS Nurul Falah of Surabaya with indicators of increasing income as a benchmark and optimization steps. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative using interview method with two managers of LAZIS Nurul Falah of Surabaya (A1 - A2) and five Qur’an teachers (B1 - B5). The results of this research indicate that informants B1 - B5 experienced an increase in income so the empowerment of ZIS in the Guru Ngaji Berdaya program was optimal. The optimization steps that can be taken by LAZIS Nurul Falah of Surabaya in the Guru Ngaji Berdaya program are being more responsive, collaboration between LAZIS Nurul Falah branches, socialization to become expert teachers, and increasing assistance in the form of business capital.

Revisiting an Anti-Machiavellian model for teacher education: A critical perspective

This study examines a borrowed concept from politics, that is, Machiavellian, in second language teacher education (SLTE), develops an anti-model to it, and explores teacher educators’ viewpoints about the developed model with an eye on critical aspects of teacher education, that is, Anti-Machiavellian. To do so, the literature on Machiavellian thoughts was studied thoroughly based on which a model was proposed and interview questions were constructed. Then, five Iranian expert teacher educators were selected based on non-random convenient sampling to attend individual extensive semi-structured interviews in which they discussed their opinions about the principles of Anti-Machiavellian SLTE. Adopting a thematic analysis, the data revealed that Anti-Machiavellian SLTE associates closely with critical teacher education where teacher education is context-specific, responsive to learners, dialogically engaging, reflective, and practical. The results of the in-depth interviews also indicated that Anti-Machiavellian SLTE is compatible with critical teacher education which, albeit widely advertised, is hard to practice.

Student Performance Prediction: A Co-Evolutionary Hybrid Intelligence model

Abstract - Student performance prediction has a pivotal role in educational institutions, providing valuable insights into students' academic outcomes and aiding educators in implementing personalized interventions. In the previous works, many variants of ML and AI techniques have been implemented with high accuracy. However, the lack of transparency due to the heterogeneous nature of features that lead to biases, forced inequalities or even challenges in interpreting the model implications have not been addressed. An approach that harnesses the power of hybrid intelligence, combining human expertise with artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance transparency and accountability in the decision-making process of student performance prediction is required. Co-evolutionary Hybrid Intelligence (CHI) approach, will not only discover interdisciplinary facets including past exam scores, attendance records, demographic information, and socio-economic factors but also interpret the influence of every component i.e., teacher, student, and learning environment to predict student performance. Two modules are discussed in this paper. The first module classifies the teachers into two classes of expertise by comparing the accuracy performance of six well-known machine learning techniques namely Logistic Regression (LR), MultiLayer Perceptron(MLP), Naive Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (kNN), and Random Forest (RF). Second, we propose a multiclass student performance prediction model (RLCHI) built upon a combination of reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms that will aid the model to perceive patterns and adjustments inherently and expert teachers' opinions(CHI) from the first model that will bring invaluably contextual understanding, nuanced judgment, and a deep knowledge of pedagogy to the equation. The performance of the RLCHI model is evaluated. The obtained results show that the proposed model scores better than models built only on the RL algorithm on the same dataset. The accuracy, precision, recall, and Fl score of the model achieved with hybrid intelligence is 79.5, 49.9, 52.3, 53.2 when compared to 71.9,48.30,46.6,46.1 achieved with only RL respectively.

An Online Pediatric Palliative Care Education and Mentoring (Project ECHO) in Nepal: A Program Implementation Case Study and Assessment of Changes in Healthcare Providers' Knowledge, Confidence, and Attitudes.

The goal of this implementation study was to describe the implementation and evaluation of the impact of an online pediatric palliative care training program in Nepal, using the Project ECHO model. The study used mixed methods, including a program case study describing the online learning program and before-and-after surveys of program participants, assessing learning through changes in knowledge, comfort, and attitudes. An end-of-program survey was used to evaluate participants' overall experiences with the learning program and use of the learning resources. A literature review, stakeholder surveys, and expert input informed the design of the intervention. The course used the Project ECHO model of online education, with modifications based on the leadership team's previous ECHO experiences and local stakeholder input. The intervention occurred over 9 months, with 22 online teaching sessions. Each session consisted of a didactic lecture, case presentation, and interactive discussion with expert clinical teachers. Fifty-five clinicians in Nepal participated, including physicians (47%), nurses (44%), and psychotherapists (5%). Clinicians reported improvements in knowledge, skills, and attitudes after program participation. Program acceptability scores were high, with 93% of participants reporting that the course provided effective learning. Project ECHO can be successfully implemented to deliver continuing professional development in Nepal. Delivering palliative care education online using the Project ECHO model, leads to improved knowledge, skills, and attitudes for clinicians. Project ECHO suggests an innovative solution which can provide training and support to clinicians in settings where educational opportunities in palliative care are limited.

Identifying Contextual and Moderating Components Affecting the Implementation of the Primary Mathematics Curriculum

Purpose: Given the importance of proper implementation of the primary mathematics curriculum, this study aimed to identify the effective contextual and moderating components in the implementation of the primary mathematics curriculum. Methodology: This study was applied in purpose and qualitative in approach. The research population consisted of expert teachers in the field of primary mathematics curriculum in Tehran during the academic year 2020-2021, from whom 16 were selected based on theoretical saturation using purposive and snowball sampling methods. The research tool was a semi-structured interview, the face validity of which was confirmed by experts, and its reliability was obtained with a Cohen’s Kappa coefficient of 0.86. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis in MAXQDA-2020 software. Findings: The findings revealed that in the model of effective components in the implementation of the primary mathematics curriculum, for contextual components, 17 basic themes were identified under 4 organizing themes including social, cultural, economic, and structural, and for moderating components, 20 basic themes were identified under 3 organizing themes including advantages of learning mathematics, barriers to learning mathematics, and facilitators of learning mathematics. Ultimately, a model of effective contextual and moderating components in the implementation of the primary mathematics curriculum was illustrated. Conclusion: According to the results of this study and considering the effective contextual and moderating components in the implementation of the primary mathematics curriculum, it is necessary for specialists and curriculum planners to utilize strategies compatible with the identified components to improve the educational system.

Achievement Goal Orientations of Iranian EFL Teachers in Postmethod Pedagogy Expertise

Purpose: The efficacy of postmethod pedagogy (PMP) in Iran remains undetermined despite the growing attention being paid to it. A multitude of factors may contribute to differing levels of motivation among teachers in effectively implementing postmethod principles. The Achievement Goal Theory (AGT), rooted in a socio-cognitive perspective, provides a framework for understanding the types of goals individuals tend to pursue in achievement situations. Hence, this study aims to investigate the goal orientations of experienced English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers who are practicing postmethod tenets. Methodology: The current study employed an applied qualitative approach to explore the goal orientations of 18 experienced EFL teachers from various language institutes in Kermanshah, Iran. Participants were selected in two phases: first, a postmethod questionnaire was administered to identify respondents familiar with Postmethod Pedagogy (PMP) principles. Next, a semi-structured interview was conducted to elicit their goal orientations while adopting PMP conditions. Field notes were also used to document the researcher’s reflections and opinions, facilitating data analysis. The researchers utilized a three-stage approach for data analysis, following the inductive data coding method of open, axial, and selective coding. Findings: After analyzing the interview transcripts, it became apparent that the implementation of postmethod pedagogy tenets in teachers' teaching practice was influenced by their achievement goal orientations. This included learning, relational, and performance-approach goal orientations. The findings revealed that expert teachers predominantly exhibited learning goal orientations. In contrast, performance-approach goal orientations were the least prevalent among these educators. Conclusion: Examining teachers’ goal orientations through the socio-cognitive lens of postmethod language teaching can benefit the growth and development of teacher training programs, curriculum planning, and policymakers.

The call for an "educational footprint" in conceptualizing mental health and psychosocial support: the case of Norwegian kindergarten teachers.

This article presents an in-depth qualitative case study asking, "How do Norwegian kindergarten teachers conceptualize and negotiate the field of psychosocial support?" This article thoroughly explores how Norwegian kindergarten teachers perceive of the field Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). Recognizing the global imperative to advance mental health and psychosocial support for children, the study highlights the crucial need for interprofessional grounded concepts and logics in developing MHPSS interventions. The study employs a grounded theory approach to actively develop concepts in the MHPSS field in Norway. The six selected Norwegian expert teachers can make up a so-called "unique case", representing a high-income country with a robust welfare system and child-centered pedagogy. Yet, they reveal challenges in embracing the concept of psychosocial support: The analysis shows that the teachers seem to neglect and even reject the concept of psychosocial support, while also expressing inferiority and lack of agency towards other professions. However, the teachers also express the desire for more knowledge, and with proudness they energetically engage in fostering children's agency and functioning by their everyday descriptions of «meeting with the child». The study calls for the kindergarten teachers' increased efforts to actively participate in MHPSS interventions, advocating for the further development of an «educational footprint» that can empower interprofessional work.
