AbstractA discussion is presented of an analysis of lithic specimens recovered from the Calico Early Man Site in California. The purpose of the analysis was to determine whether there are consistent patterns of attributes that are characteristic of lithic manufacturing by man. For comparison, the same analysis was also performed on the products of experimental knapping of lithic raw materials obtained near the Calico Site. A number of conclusions from this study support the concept that the Calico lithic collection contains man-made specimens.
