The method of remote collaborative experiment is the forward research field of international civil engineering academia. The system of remote collaborative structural experiment based on OpenFresco develops a network protocol platform and integrates numerical simulation and experimental control system to accomplish LAN and internet hybrid test, which has been developed by UC Berkeley. Boundary conditions of experimental elements in OpenFresco are discussed. A three-story steel frame is analyzed using OpenSees and simulation of hybrid shaking table test of a three-story steel frame based on OpenFresco is performed. Comparing with numerical simulation result and tests result, the rationality and reliability of collaborative structural experiments based on OpenFresco is verified. This study provides necessary theoretical supports for real network collaborative structural experiments based on OpenFresco.
