Polish Teachers in Kutaisi

Many Poles worked in Kutaisi and actively participated in the social life of the city. It is worth noting that few people know that Władysław Raczkiewicz, a Polish politician, public and military figure, and President of the Republic of Poland during World War II, was born in Kutaisi.On October 12, 1879, Ivan Narbut from Poland began teaching French at the Classical Gymnasium for Boys in Kutaisi. Three years later, he was elected secretary of the pedagogical council of the lower secondary school. In the same year, for his excellent work, he was awarded 200 manats from the special fund of the lower secondary school. In 1883, he was awarded the Order of Saint Stanislaus, 3rd class. Over the years, he held various titles: in 1879, Collegiate Assessor; in 1885, Court Counselor; in 1888, Collegiate Counselor; and in 1891, State Counselor.At different times, he taught various classes. When the inspectors of secondary and higher schools were abroad, his duties were performed by Eugene Narbut as deputy. In 1891, he received the Order of Saint Anna. Ivan Narbut died in April 1894 in a shipwreck on the Black Sea.

Research on Mechanical Properties of High‐Manganese Steel Coating Manufactured by Coaxial Powder‐Feeding Laser Cladding

Due to the process complexity of the high‐carbon high‐manganese steel (HMnS) in casting and arc welding, this article propose the coaxial powder‐feeding laser cladding (LC) of HMnS coating using self‐developed HMnS powders. Firstly, high‐carbon HMnS coatings are prepared on the 16Mn substrate using coaxial powder‐feeding LC technology. It has a single austenite phase, without large defects such as pores and cracks. Then, ultrasonic shock peening is used to harden the HMnS coating, and the mechanical properties such as microhardness, impact toughness, wear and tensile properties are measured, which prove that HMnS coating has excellent working hardening, plasticity, toughness, and wear resistance properties. Finally, transmission electron microscopy is used to investigate the coupling effects such as dislocations, multiple twinning, and stacking faults on the HMnS coating after tensile fracture (true strain 39.2%). The deformation strengthening mechanism based on the dynamic Hall–Petch effect is revealed. The research results provide a new method for the preparation of high‐carbon HMnS coatings, and a new idea for expanding the application of high‐carbon HMnS.

Reflection on Cultivating Students Appreciation Ability in College Music Teaching

As an important part of college art education, music plays a very good role in cultivating students artistic sentiment and emotion. In college music teaching, in order to further improve students music level, it is necessary for teachers to focus on cultivating students appreciation ability, and stimulate students emotional resonance to the works through appreciation and analysis of various excellent music works, so as to strengthen students music literacy in a deep level. Therefore, this paper mainly explores the strategies of cultivating students appreciation ability in college music teaching, hoping to provide some reference for the majority of college music teachers.

Dear AG Readers, It is with great pleasure and pride that I introduce to you this special volume of Annals of Geophysics titled “Embracing the past, empowering the present, and envisioning the future”. As Editor-in-Chief, I am thrilled to present a collection of articles that celebrates 25 years of INGV excellence, within the realm of geophysical disciplines. This volume showcases the outstanding contributions of our esteemed colleagues who have made themselves available to participate as authors in the compilation of this volume. Their participation is rooted in the numerous projects, collaborations, and cultural exchanges they have had over time with all the personnel of our Institute, which have allowed the advancement of knowledge in the various scientific disciplines covered. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all authors, reviewers, and editorial board members whose dedication has made this milestone possible. Over the past 6 months we have worked hard to curate this special issue of Annals of Geophysics. I would like to acknowledge the generous help of A. Costume and Body Language of Ethnic Dance Drama under Semiotics: An Analytical Study

Dance drama is a dramatic form with dance as its main means of expression, which has been developed in China for less than a century. In recent years, the development of Chinese dance drama, especially ethnic dance drama, has shown an obvious upward trend. Several excellent dance drama works have appeared, forming some distinctive dance drama styles, among which The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting, The Peacock, and The Railway to Tibet are quite representative. This study will investigate the above three dance dramas based on semiotics. An analysis of costume and body language is carried out in this study based on the semiotics, from the morphological characteristics of dance and costume. In addition, the author makes a comprehensive exploration of the integration of the external form, fabric, structure and pattern of costume and body language, tries to reveal the way of interaction between costume symbols and body symbols in dance drama, and summarises the artistic connotation of the integration of dance costumes and body language. Then, it provides ideas for the role creation and education of dance drama.

Analysis of the ‘Good’ performance indicators of Non-Governmental Development Organizations

The current economic and political crisis has brought about a change in the environment in which Non-Governmental Development Organizations (NGDOs) have traditionally operated. This change can be summed up as a reduction in the funds received accompanied by an increase in the population they must serve. It is thus important to possess mechanisms that allow an analysis of the excellent work performed by NGDOs. A knowledge of the NGDOs’ efficiency in managing previous projects can contribute to improving their future achievements. This research aims to establish some objective indicators that permit an evaluation of the efficiency of these organizations. Firstly, a detailed analysis of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) regulation is conducted. This allows us to synthesise the indicators of a good performance by an NGDO based on a study of the eligibility criteria of public donors. The study concludes that the internal good practices criteria of the NGDOs of the AECID can be grouped into four criteria: experience, transparency and internal operations, human resources, and financial resources. Subsequently, a global performance measure of the NGDOs is built using a multi-criteria decision-making approach that minimises the distance from an ideal point whilst maximising the distance from an anti-ideal point. Our approach has been applied in the evaluation of 20 Spanish NGDOs.

Pursuing ultrahigh strength–ductility CoCrNi-based medium-entropy alloy by low-temperature pre-aging

Developing high-performance alloys with gigapascal strength and excellent ductility is crucial for modern engineering applications. The concept of multi-component high/medium entropy alloys (H/MEAs) provides an innovative approach to designing such alloys. In this work, we developed the Co1.5CrNi1.5Al0.2Ti0.2 MEA, which exhibits outstanding mechanical properties at room temperature through low-temperature pre-aging followed by annealing treatment. Tensile testing reveals that the MEA possesses an ultrahigh yield strength of 20±0785 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 2365 ± 70 MPa, and exceptional ductility of 15.8% ±1.7%. The superior tensile properties are attributed to the formation of fully recrystallized heterogeneous structures (HGS) composed of ultrafine grain (UFG) and fine grain (FG) regions, along with discontinuous precipitation of coherent nano-size lamellar L12 precipitates. The mechanical incompatibility between the UFG region and the FG regions during deformation induces the accumulation of a large number of geometrically necessary dislocations at the interface, resulting in strain distribution and hetero-deformation-induced (HDI) stress accumulation, contributing significantly to HDI strengthening. HDI strengthening, precipitation strengthening, and grain boundary strengthening are the primary mechanisms responsible for the ultra-high yield strength of the MEA. During deformation, the dominant deformation mechanisms include dislocation slip, deformation-induced stacking faults, and Lomer–Cottrell locks, with minor deformation twinning. The synergistic interaction of these multiple deformation modes provides the MEA with excellent work hardening capability, delaying plastic instability and achieving an excellent combination of strength and ductility. This study provides an effective strategy for synergistically strengthening MEAs by combining HDI strengthening with traditional strengthening mechanisms. These findings pave the way for the development of advanced structural materials with high performance tailored for demanding applications in engineering.

Graphene-Doped Thermoplastic Polyurethane Nanocomposite Film-Based Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Self-Powered Sport Sensor.

Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), as novel electronic devices for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, are better suited as signal-testing sensors or as components within larger wearable Internet of Things (IoT) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, where they handle small-device power supply and signal acquisition. Consequently, TENGs hold promising applications in self-powered sensor technology. As global energy supplies become increasingly tight, research into self-powered sensors has become critical. This study presents a self-powered sport sensor system utilizing a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG), which incorporates a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) film doped with graphene and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as friction materials. The graphene-doped TPU nanocomposite film-based TENG (GT-TENG) demonstrates excellent working durability. Furthermore, the GT-TENG not only consistently powers an LED but also supplies energy to a sports timer and an electronic watch. It serves additionally as a self-powered sensor for monitoring human movement. The design of this self-powered motion sensor system effectively harnesses human kinetic energy, integrating it seamlessly with sport sensing capabilities.

Target Situation Analysis (TSA) To Examine The Expert Viewpoint About The Academic Writing Demands To Author A Research Thesis In Social Sciences: A Review Study In English For Academic Purposes

Target Situation Analysis (TSA) is used in this review study to investigate the expert opinion about the requirements for academic writing when producing a social science research thesis, specifically about English for Academic Purposes (EAP). According to Basturkmen (2010) and Dudley-Evans & St. John (1998), task-specific assessment (TSA) entails determining the particular tasks, abilities, and language requirements of students in the intended academic setting. This article focuses on the expectations of examiners in EAP, important academic norms for thesis writing, and linguistic and rhetorical elements that can help ESL students overcome obstacles. In order to fulfill the demands of ESL students doing social science research, this TSA intends to inform effective instructional approaches and support systems by reviewing the body of existing literature. These writing requirements were assessed using a systematic literature review methodology and a qualitative design. Themes including thesis writing, the function of the social sciences, academic expectations, and the flow and structure of the thesis were identified through thematic analysis of scholarly guides and studies. Important findings show that writing with precision, consistency, and clarity is still quite difficult, especially for non-native speakers. In order to produce high-quality theses, social science researchers need certain abilities including critical thinking and good communication in addition to language[1] competency. The results underscore the necessity of customized assistance, including focused writing training, mentorship, and peer evaluation, in order to improve research thesis quality in Pakistan and foster scholarly distinction. Future studies should concentrate on efficient teaching strategies, the influence of language ability on the caliber of theses, and the creation of assessment instruments to help students even more. By addressing these unmet requirements for academic writing in Pakistan, researchers will be better equipped to do excellent work that makes a significant contribution to their areas.

Internal Affairs Bodies and Their Place in the System of Tasks and Functions of a Modern Democratic State: Issues of Legal Doctrine

The author points out that among the main priorities of Ukraine’s domestic policy since independence has been the creation of reliable mechanisms for security, political stability, and democracy that would correspond to the relevant mechanisms employed in the European Union. The prospect of EU membership is defined at the constitutional level and is a strategic guideline for Ukrainian aspirations for transformation and a key goal for which reforms are being carried out within the Ukrainian state. The creation and implementation of such mechanisms is the standard that will allow Ukraine to join the EU’s common security system, increase the effectiveness of control over the movement and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and bring international cooperation in the fight against organized crime, illegal migration, smuggling, terrorism, and drug trafficking to a new level. It is noted that Ukraine’s intentions to integrate into the European space have necessitated significant changes in national legislation aimed at adapting to a wide range of norms and standards generally accepted in international and European practice. The sphere of public security protection deserves special attention from lawmakers, as human rights protection is an invariable «gold standard» that distinguishes a democratic state. Given the state-forming importance of the national police, its improvement is in the zone of increased attention from both the government and society. It is extremely important today to create an effective organizational model of police bodies capable of reliably protecting the interests of the economy and citizens, implementing such principles of reforming the Ukrainian police that would result not only in excellent work in detecting and stopping offenses but also in creating significant resources for preventing offenses. The author demonstrates the dependence of the functional orientation of police structures on the functional orientation of the state, in particular on the form of state-legal regime it implements, which directly lays the basic principles of the activities of law enforcement structures in the country and the principles of their reform. Enhancing Data Integrity with Efficient Retention-Refilling Programming Schemes

The retention error has become one of the most challenging reliability issues of flash memory due to the shrinking of the technology nodes. To enhance data integrity by resolving the retention error issues for 3D MLC flash memory devices (e.g., SSDs and SD cards), many excellent works that exploited in-place reprogramming and data refreshing concepts have been proposed in recent years. However, these approaches could result in additional issues, such as programming disturbance and performance overhead (e.g., unavoidable data refreshing and a larger amount of program and verify shots). This work is motivated by the need to explore a low-cost solution to resolve retention error issues without incurring negative impacts caused by conventional refresh-based and in-place reprogramming approaches. As a result, this work exploits the characteristics of the cell's V t distribution and proposes the novel concept of "retention-refilling" to enhance data integrity. With such an idea, a retention-refillable programming scheme is proposed to improve flash reliability and mitigate performance overheads by trading data refreshing with retention-refilling. The capability of the proposed scheme is evaluated by a series of experiments, for which we have very encouraging results.

High Prevalence of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders Among Dentists: A Cross-Sectional Study From Kerala, India.

Literature on the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD), work ability, and associated factors among dentists is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of MSD, work ability, and associated factors among dentists in Kerala, India. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 290 dentists (median age: 34 years, 47% male), selected from a list of dentists in a district of Kerala. Information on MSD and work ability were collected using a structured, pre-tested questionnaire administered both online and through direct interviews. Factors associated with MSD were analyzed using multivariable regression analysis. The prevalence of MSD in the past 12 months was 86.9% (95% CI: 83.1 - 90.9), and in the past seven days was 42.4% (95% CI: 36.7 - 48.08). Among those reporting MSD in the last 12 months, 21.4% experienced it in two sites. Of the nine regions assessed, the neck was the most affected over the past 12 months, with 57.6% reporting discomfort, while the lower back was the most affected in the last seven days (21.4%). Work ability was rated as excellent by 24.5% of participants and good by 51.7%. In the regression analysis, no significant association was found between socioeconomic factors and MSD during either time period. However, bivariate analysis showed that dentists who were overweight and those aged 34 years or older reported significantly more knee-related MSD in the past seven days (p=0.033 and p=0.037, respectively). Despite the high prevalence of MSD among dentists, more than three-fourths reported good or excellent work ability. Implementing mandatory ergonomic assessments and interventions in dental workplaces may help reduce MSD among dentists.

Outcome of Phacoemulsification Cataract Surgery in Complicated Cataract Due to Uveitis

Background: Surgical removal of cataractous lens is the only of treatment of cataract irrespective of etiology. Phacoemulsification is a modern cataract surgery in which the eyes internal lens is emulsified with an ultrasonic hand-piece and aspirated from the eye. Complicated cataract due to anterior uveitis has difference in morphology and outcome from that of age-related cataract variety. Aim of the study: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome of phacoemulsification in complicated cataract due to uveitis. Methods: This prospective observational cross-sectional study conducted in cataract clinic of National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh, from September 2018 to March 2019. Sample was selected by purposive sampling technique. Total 50 patients suffering from complicated cataract due to uveitis were included according to selection criteria. Data were gathered from the informant and recorded in a structured case report format. Clinical examination and relevant investigation were done meticulously. All acquired data was entered into a Microsoft Excel Work Sheet and analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS 24.0. Results: In this study, the maximum number of patients 18(36.0%) were 51-60 years age group, mean age of the patient was 52.7±6.37 years. Male to female ratio was 1:1.17. Postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was better progressively and reached significance difference (P<0.05). Astigmatism was measured in different follow up time. There was significant difference (p< 0.05) present in all post-operative days. In time wise comparison revealed, there was also significant difference in between 1st postoperative day and 30th postoperative day but no significance was present between 30th postoperative day and 180th postoperative day (P= 0.161). In this study postoperative complications included posterior capsule opacification (55.5%), posterior synechiae (11.1%), cystoid macular edema (22.2%) & glaucoma (11.1%). Conclusion: Present study concluded that phacoemulsification is safer for the uveitic cataract as less inflammation is induced than that by a manual extracapsular cataract extraction. In order to optimize the postoperative outcome of uveitic cataract surgery, it is necessary to be meticulous and thorough.

Managing Change in Healthcare Systems Policy and Healthcare Service Delivery System in India

Health is not just the absence of disease; it is a state of total physical, mental, and social well-being." The purposeful arrangement of individuals, organizations, and resources that provides healthcare services to the target population in need is known as the healthcare system. Around the world, there are as many different types of healthcare systems as there are civilizations, cultures, societies, and histories. This implies that a country must create its own healthcare system based on its requirements and available resources. An examination of the Indian health sector reveals the labour, difficulties, supply, demand, and necessary future research. In addition to the excellent work that is readily apparent, there are other areas that require development and attention. It is imperative that research of this kind be conducted to address the uncharted territory. The goal of this study is to examine potential workable remedies for the health-related problems. Additionally, the study attempts to solve the issues and create some framework for the health care system.

The physical mechanism of heat transfer enhancement for Al2O3-water nanofluid forced flow in a microchannel with two-phase lattice Boltzmann method

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the mechanism of nanofluid enhanced heat transfer in microchannels and promote the application of nanofluids in industrial processes such as solar collectors, electronic cooling and automotive batteries.Design/methodology/approachThe two-phase lattice Boltzmann method was used to calculate the flow and heat transfer characteristics of Al2O3 nanofluids in a microchannel at Re = 50. By comparing the simulation results of pure water, nanofluids without calculated nanoparticle-fluid interaction forces and nanofluids with calculated nanoparticle-fluid interaction forces, the effects of physical properties improvement and interaction forces on flow and heat transfer are quantified.FindingsThe findings show that the nanofluid (φ = 3%, R = 10 nm) increases the average Nusselt number by 22.40% at Re = 50. In particular, 16.16% of the improvement relates to nanoparticles optimizing the thermophysical parameters of the base fluid. The remaining 6.24% relates to the disturbance of the thermal boundary layer caused by the interaction between nanoparticles and the base fluid. Moreover, the nanoparticle has a negligible effect on the average Fanning friction factor. Ultimately, we conclude that the nanofluid is an excellent heat transfer working medium based on its performance evaluation criterion, PEC = 1.225.Originality/valueTo the best of the authors' knowledge, this research quantifies for the first time the contribution of nanoparticle-liquid interactions and nanofluids physical properties to enhanced heat transfer, advancing the knowledge of the nanoparticle's behavior in liquid systems.

(Digital Presentation) In-Situ Growth of CNT and Macroporous ZIF on Bacterial Cellulose for High Frequency Electrochemical Capacitor

High frequency electrochemical capacitors (HF-ECs) represent a class of devices characterized by their high capacitive density and operational capability within the hundreds or kilohertz range. As electronic devices continue to undergo downsizing trends, HF-ECs emerge as promising alternatives to bulky aluminum electrolytic capacitors (AECs), which are constrained by their limited working frequency of approximately 1 Hz and slow charge-discharge rates. The designing of electrodes of HF-ECs combines large surface area for capacitive density along with open porous network to facilitate rapid ion transport. In this study, we synthesized nickel coordinated ZIF-8 (Zeolitic Imidazole Framework-8) cages on bacterial cellulose (BC). The samples underwent rapid carbonization in the presence of dicyandiamide at ~950˚C for 20 minutes, during which the zinc centers inside the MOF cages evaporated forming macroporous structures, while the nickel particles gave rise to carbon nanotube (CNT) growth through tip growth mechanism. The uniform coverage of BC with macroporous ZIF cages reduces the microporous effect, while the CNT growth also imparts higher electronic conductivity via graphitic nitrogen groups. The HF-ECs made with these electrodes and 6M KOH aqueous electrolyte gave a capacitive density of ~3.4 mFcm-2 and a phase angle of -81.3˚. The electrodes were stacked in pairs of 2 and 3 to achieve higher capacitance of 6.3 mFcm-2 and 8.9 mFcm-2 respectively. The HF-ECs were also assembled with 1 M TEABF4 in acetonitrile to show higher working voltage of these electrodes. The device maintained a capacitance just above 3 mFcm-2 and a phase angle over -80˚. The cells show an excellent working capability at higher discharge rates of 100 mAcm-2, where they retained ~70% of the initial capacitance. Figure 1

Study on the Natural Smoke Exhaust Performance of Board-Coupled Vertical Shaft in High-Altitude Tunnel Fires

Vertical shaft natural ventilation is a common smoke exhaust method in highway tunnel fires. This study investigated the vertical shaft natural smoke exhaust work in highway tunnel fires with the effect of multiple factors through numerical simulation. Using the analysis of the flow field of smoke in nearby areas of the vertical shaft and the quantitative calculation of the gas exhausted through the vertical shaft, considering the impact of shaft division and board height, an optimal vertical shaft arrangement was proposed, and the working conditions of this arrangement in low-pressure environments were discussed. The results show that dividing a single large vertical shaft into multiple small vertical shafts and appropriately adjusting the board height can reduce the incidence of vertical shaft plug holes and significantly enhance the vertical shaft smoke exhaust performance. Meanwhile, the board-coupled shaft (BCS) has excellent working ability in low-pressure environments, and when pressure drops, smoke exhaust efficiency will improve. This research offers a foundation and reference value for improving the vertical shaft smoke exhaust system in highway tunnels.
