In this paper we present a detailed calculation of reflection amplitudes for s- and p-polarized radiation striking a glass surface, closely following the derivation found in the Feynman Lectures on Physics, vol I. The basic idea underlying Feynmanʼs exposition is the extinction theorem, which is used here in a very unique, Feynmanesque way. The calculation is carried out both for the case of radiation coming from the air and from the glass. We also show that the same reasonings are useful to discuss the internal Brewsterʼs law.
