This research aims to solve everyday life problems using the concept of arithmetic sequences and series. The type of research used is qualitative research. The type of data used is secondary data. Data collection method uses library research. The method for this study uses previous literature studies, books and journals. An arithmetic sequence is a number that has a certain pattern and a fixed difference. while an arithmetic series is the sum of all the numbers in the arithmetic series. The concept of arithmetic sequences and series can be applied in life as a solution to solve everyday life problems.

Roadblocks in Child Participation Practices in Academia and Civil Society

Abstract This article discusses the potential and pitfalls of children’s participation in academic and non-academic settings through a child participation project in Turkey by questioning various forms of childism from child and adult perspectives. We first and foremost acknowledge and emphasise the child’s position as a form of political resilience in a world where adult centrism has been the norm, regardless of differences in childhood experiences across cultures, social classes and age groups. Guided by this understanding, we engaged with two distinct fieldwork processes over the years and took steps toward achieving child participation at citizenship action level. In particular, we aimed to create a safe and open space for children from diverse backgrounds to come together, share their life issues, develop strategies to address their everyday problems and build a child-to-child participation network. However, we encountered several roadblocks to fully involving children in these processes. This article illustrates the perceptional and practical limitations we faced on the road that stem from competing dispositions held by children and stakeholders. To showcase the potential impact of our project, we highlight such obstacles as adultism among child participants, challenges of engaging academic research with stakeholders, and variations in motivation and interest among different social actors in the field of childhood. The obstacles are discussed with their implications in ways that they could be overcome.

Tratamiento epistemológico y holístico sobre la figura del menor

The global and detailed study about the minor in our days, it have a lot of legal and existential systemic divisions, that they make a portrait not lacking of complex manifestations which they convert in something everyday, behaviors and individual problems, and these are answered down national and international legal framework, for natural functioning in lives of children and young people. The stubborn reality means that in all areas and countries, even though different intensity, transcendental aspects are repeated to the presente and the future of young people, who are harmed sometimes and offenders, they need decisive, preventive and protective answers directed by the powers of the state.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar dan Berfikir Kritis PAKBP dengan Model PBL Berbantuan Media Audio Visual Fase B Kelas IV SDN Sawahan

The implementation of the "Merdeka Belajar" (Freedom to Learn) Curriculum faces various challenges, including in terms of curriculum implementation and adjustment. These challenges include changes in student learning patterns, the broader role of teachers, and efforts to meet the established educational standards. In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, Catholic religious education in Indonesia focuses on developing students' understanding of religion, moral values, and Catholic spirituality, while also emphasizing the Pancasila student profile.The Merdeka Curriculum has also had impacts and posed challenges at SD Negeri Sawahan Surakarta regarding students' academic performance or learning outcomes. For example, in the cognitive aspect, when studying the Grade IV lesson on Developing My Abilities, the students' learning outcomes were unsatisfactory. Out of a total of 6 students, around 4 (67%) scored below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), which was set at 75. In this classroom action research, the researcher focuses on the dimension of critical thinking, based on the importance of building strong character and mental attitudes in the younger generation, especially in facing complex global challenges. Creative thinking skills will result in more effective learning and develop higher reasoning abilities that can be used to solve various problems in learning. Students with creative thinking skills tend to have high intrinsic motivation, strong drive, self-confidence, and better thinking abilities. In this model, the teacher acts as a facilitator who helps students develop deep understanding and relevant skills through motivation, stimulating questions, and support for meaningful learning experiences. PBL focuses on common everyday problems, and its process involves problem identification, data collection, and the use of data to solve problems. The primary goal of PBL is to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and knowledge acquisition, helping to improve students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills in the topic of developing self-abilities in Grade IV at SD Negeri Sawahan, Surakarta.

Environmental Activism in Ukraine: Everyday Concerns as Reasons for Civic Mobilization1

ABSTRACT Based on the results of a representative survey and 30 semi-structured interviews with environmental CSO leaders, we argue that citizens in Ukraine are more likely to participate in public mobilization efforts when they relate to unmet day-to-day problems such as environmental protection. Despite the relatively weak professionalization of many environmental organizations and weak citizen involvement, environmental activism has been strengthened in recent decades by growing awareness of its importance and potential to bring desirable changes, especially locally. This problem-based research asks how civic potential to address everyday problems by citizens themselves and the evolving political opportunity structure including the new civil society development strategy and decentralization reform impact environmental activism and the condition of civil society in Ukraine. Our findings demonstrate that environmental and animal protection have a particularly strong impact on civic activism, which has several important public and social functions from service providing and raising awareness to advocacy. Yet this activism to be sustained requires supportive and collaborative relationship between civil society actors and the state.

Exploring Middle School Students' Challenges in Mathematical Literacy: A Study on AKM Problem-Solving

Mathematical literacy is the ability to formulate, apply, and interpret everyday problems. The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) program in Indonesia is designed to evaluate these essential skills, similar to the PISA framework. Assessing mathematical literacy through the AKM ensures that students meet basic competency standards, helping to improve overall educational quality and better preparing students for global competition. This research reveals the characteristics of students' mathematical literacy when solving AKM problems. The study was conducted at a junior high school in Surakarta, Indonesia. The research stages included giving AKM problems, observing students' problem-solving processes through think-aloud methods, conducting interviews for confirmation, reducing data, coding data, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The data used included students' answers, observation sheets, and interview transcripts. When formulating problems, students often struggle to accurately understand the issues at hand. This leads to incomplete data during the problem-solving process, resulting in calculation errors or mistakes in applying formulas. These errors create a domino effect, leading to incorrect answers. Students' difficulties in formulating mathematical problems can potentially cause calculation errors and improper use of formulas, ultimately leading to incorrect solutions. This negatively impacts their conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and readiness to face educational challenges or enter the workforce. To address these difficulties, teachers can enhance students' conceptual understanding, promote critical thinking, implement problem-based learning, use visual aids, provide targeted support, and focus on developing mathematical literacy from an early age.

A - 126 Examining Five Point Test Strategy Use on Everyday Problem-Solving Abilities in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Alzheimer’s Disease

Abstract Objective Activities of daily living (ADLs) and executive functional abilities are increasingly impaired in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease (ad). Impaired individuals adopt executive strategies to aid in executing executive everyday tasks. The Five Point Test measures indices of executive functioning when completing the task. The study examines the role of strategy use in everyday problem-solving in healthy older adults (HOA), MCI, and ad. Method Participants included HOA adults (n = 58), persons with MCI (n = 63), and individuals with ad (n = 18). Participants completed a background questionnaire, including the Everyday Problems Test (EPT). In the Five Point Test, using straight lines, participants were instructed to draw various designs in three minutes, avoiding errors across three conditions. The use of the Rotational Strategy is measured by participants generating a new design by rotating the previous spatial configuration. The use of an enumerative strategy was measured by participants generating a pattern by consecutively adding or deleting a line from the previous design. Results Linear regressions were conducted to determine the role of strategy use in everyday problem-solving (i.e., rotational and enumerative strategies). It was revealed that the use of the rotational strategy predicted EPT solving in the MCI group. However, problem-solving abilities did not predict EPT solving in HOA and ad. Conclusion Interestingly, the rotational strategy was better executed across all groups, while the ad group exhibited limited strategy use. Results suggest that those with subtle cognitive deficits adopt strategies to better execute problem-solving in real-life problems.

In Hungary, children and pupils with special educational needs are those who, on the basis of a diagnostic assessment by a committee of educational experts, are entitled to additional support for their development. Today, they are often placed in inclusive or integrative kindergartens and schools, where they learn with other children and are assisted in their development by a special needs teacher. Several studies have looked at the role of special needs teachers in inclusive education. Other approaches emphasise collaboration between professionals, and some forms of collaboration are seen as teamwork. Although these collaborations are necessary to achieve the best possible developmental outcomes, they are difficult to achieve for a number of reasons. This paper presents an action research project in which teamwork, i.e. case discussion, solution finding and knowledge transfer, took the form of online collaboration. The methodological framework was participatory action research. Although this form of collaboration was created out of necessity in the institution, the positive feedback and results from the participants show the need for activities and collective learning adapted to the knowledge level and needs of teachers, which help them to deal with everyday tasks and problems with more confidence and self-efficacy.

Potrzeby osób z niepełnosprawnościami na poziomie lokalnym na przykładzie powiatu trzebnickiego

Getting to know the needs of people with disabilities might truly contribute to the improvement of their quality of life. The aim of the study discussed in this article is the hierarchisation of the needs of people with disabilities at the local level, on the example of Trzebnica poviat, and determining whether there are differences between their order of needs and that indicated at the regional level. The study was carried out from June to September 2020 among people with disabilities aged 15 and over divided into two samples: one consisting of 50 inhabitants of Trzebnica poviat and the other of 188 inhabitants of Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian) Voivodship. Quota sampling in terms of selected socio-economic features, i.e. the respondents’ gender, place of residence and degree of disability was adopted in the study. Information about the surveyed population obtained from the National Population and Housing Census 2011 and non-governmental organisations was used in the sample selection process. People with disabilities inhabiting Trzebnica poviat identified bathroom modernisation as well as obtaining medicine and care products as their most urgent needs. They pointed to the absence of lifts in residential buildings, obstacles to travelling independently by means of public transport, lack of information about available training, poor prospects for obtaining resources for pursuing their interests and poor condition of roads as the most nagging everyday problems. The comparison of the order of needs of people with disabilities from the Trzebnica poviat and that of people with disabilities from the whole Dolnośląskie Voivodship shows there are differences. However, diagnosing the needs of people with disabilities at a local level and the subsequent implementation of relevant changes by local governments might improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in the whole region.

Prospective memory functions in traumatic brain injury: The role of neuropsychological deficits, metamemory and impaired self-awareness.

A large body of evidence suggests that individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) have significant difficulties with prospective memory (PM), the memory for future intentions. However, the processes underlying this cognitive deficit remain unclear. This study aimed to gather further evidence regarding PM functions in TBI and clarify the role of neuropsychological deficits, metamemory, and mood disorders. We used a laboratory-based clinical measure, the Virtual Week, to examine PM function in 18 patients with TBI and 18 healthy control subjects. Measures of attention, processing speed, executive functions, episodic memory, and self-report questionnaires were also administered. In line with prior literature, our findings indicate that individuals with TBI had a consistent deficit compared to controls across all PM tasks. In previous studies, TBI patients had more severe impairment on time-based tasks; nevertheless, our results show that across all participants event-based tasks were easier to perform compared to time-based only when the retrospective memory demand was high. The patients were not only impaired on the prospective component of PM but also failed to recognise the content of their task (the retrospective component). Interestingly, the TBI group did not report higher levels of everyday memory problems, anxiety and depression compared to the control group. These measures also failed to correlate with PM and recognition memory performance. This study found that besides the neuropsychological deficits, a global impairment in PM functioning is present in individuals with TBI across various task types, tasks low and high in retrospective demands, and event versus time-based.

Analysis of higher order thinking skills and lower thinking skill items in summative evaluation of Akidah-Akhlak learning

This research explores the implementation of summative evaluation in Islamic Religious Education (Akidah Akhlak) subjects at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta, with a focus on implementing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Summative evaluation is considered very important in measuring the achievement of the Islamic Religious Education program. High-level critical and creative thinking skills (HOTS) are considered important in solving everyday problems, especially in the era of globalization. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with document content analysis, especially the final semester assessment questions for Aqidah Akhlak class VII made by the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah (PWM) DIY. The findings show that of the 12 final semester assessment questions, 6 questions (15%) meet the HOTS criteria, while 28 questions (70%) fall into the low-level thinking ability (LOTS) category. In addition, 6 items (15%) did not have a correct answer among the available options. These findings underscore the need to increase the integration of HOTS in designing summative evaluation questions for Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This research aims to describe and collect information about the implementation of summative evaluations and assess the results at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta. Effective summative evaluation is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality of Islamic education at the secondary level.

An empirical investigation of the impact of ChatGPT on creativity.

This paper investigates the potential of ChatGPT for helping humans tackle problems that require creativity. Across five experiments, we asked participants to use ChatGPT (GPT-3.5) to generate creative ideas for various everyday and innovation-related problems, including choosing a creative gift for a teenager, making a toy, repurposing unused items and designing an innovative dining table. We found that using ChatGPT increased the creativity of the generated ideas compared with not using any technology or using a conventional Web search (Google). This effect remained robust regardless of whether the problem required consideration of many (versus few) constraints and whether it was viewed as requiring empathetic concern. Furthermore, ChatGPT was most effective at generating incrementally (versus radically) new ideas. Process evidence suggests that the positive influence of ChatGPT can be attributed to its capability to combine remotely related concepts into a cohesive form, leading to a more articulate presentation of ideas.

Application of the Simplex Method in the Production of Communication Modules

This paper aims to highlight the important role of operations research, particularly the simplex method, in solving everyday problems. To this end, a specific linear programming problem is considered in the paper. The problem will be solved using the simplex method. After solving the problem, some useful conclusions will be drawn. The following two sections provide an overview of interesting ideas for future research in linear programming and the simplex method. The contribution of this paper is then compared with the contributions of some similar studies. Finally, the study concludes with its conclusion.

Pengembangan Model Project Based Learning (PjBL) Berbantuan Augmented Reality (AR) untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains dan Sikap Ilmiah Peserta Didik Kelas XI pada Materi Struktur Sel

Developments in the field of education in the industrial era 4.0 demanded a change in students' perspectives on the quality of learning such as learning in biology subjects. Biology learning can foster students' thinking skills to solve everyday problems through observation and observations that are based on a scientific attitude and can develop scientific process skills. To achieve this, it is necessary to choose the right model. Student-centered models such as project based learning are very suitable for today's learning supported by adequate technology and increase student learning interest such as augmented reality. This study aims to see an increase in science process skills and scientific attitudes of students from the development of augmented reality-assisted project based learning models. The research method with the ADDIE development model and the type of research and development research. The research instrument consisted of interviews, observations and tests, the population of all students in class XI IPA and samples XI IPA 1, XI IPA 3. The results showed that for KPS the average pretest score for the experimental class was 49.9 and the average posttest score was 80.5 while in the control class the average pretest score was 48.7 and the posttest average score was 60 and for scientific attitude the average experimental pretest score was 60, the posttest was 86.9 while the control class averaged the pretest score was 58.9 posttest was 81. Followed by analysis t test and obtained a sig(2-tailed) value of 0.0000.05, so it was concluded that the development of the AR-assisted PjBL model can improve KPS and scientific attitudes of students. The recommendation from this research is that this project-based learning model manual is used to improve problem-solving skills in different materials.

Rethinking Power-Sharing in Post-War Lebanon: The Case for a Pluralist and Multi-Level Research Agenda

Abstract To what extent is power-sharing theory, used as one of the key conceptual frameworks for Lebanon’s political system, still relevant for charting a way forward amid the country’s cumulative crises? This article heeds the call to position research on Lebanon’s power-sharing in a pluralist research agenda that speaks to a wider knowledge base and to a broader set of everyday policy problems. This agenda articulates itself around three axes: first, building on interdisciplinary research perspectives; second, looking at post-war Lebanon through multi-level and relational perspectives beyond the focus on power-sharing theory and “deeply divided societies” as focal paradigms for exploring conflict mitigation; and third, feeding into critical policy perspectives that probe people’s everyday struggles.

Improving the Prospective Math Teacher's Literacy Skills by Using Digital Images in STEM-Based Instruction

The demands of high school education are not only increasingly complex and difficult subject content, students are also required to be able to think critically and reason in solving everyday problems. This mathematical ability is known as mathematical literacy proficiency. This is where the teacher's role as a facilitator who provides stimulus in the form of learning strategies, guidance and assistance when students experience learning difficulties is a key factor. For this reason, students as prospective mathematics teachers need to have good mathematical literacy skills and knowledge and skills to guide students to achieve 21st century abilities and skills. This research was conducted to apply a STEM approach in learning so that students can improve the mathematical literacy skills of students majoring in Mathematics Education as prospective teachers and introduce and equip them with knowledge about STEM. The research was carried out using problems related to the relationship between mathematics and digital images in STEM. Data is collected through tests and assessments of student activities that integrate STEM in solving problems. The research results show that digital images have the potential to help students understand mathematical concepts in various fields, especially computer graphics. Students' literacy skills also increased significantly at the significance level α = 0.05. Students' mathematical literacy proficiency level increased from 90% at maximum level 1 to 90% at minimum level 5

Peran Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler dalam Pengembangan Keterampilan Sosial Siswa

Extracurricular activities have a strategic role in developing students' social skills. Social skills are valuable provisions for students to interact effectively, build positive relationships, and contribute optimally in society. This research aims to examine the role of extracurricular activities in developing students' social skills. This research uses a type of research approach in the form of a literature study (library research) where heritage studies are a study used to collect information and data with the help of various kinds of materials in libraries such as documents, books, magazines, historical stories and others.. The results showed that social skills are the ability to interact with others in a social context in a way that is socially acceptable and valuable. These skills include the ability to communicate orally and in writing, solve everyday problems, understand, evaluate and work with others. And extracurricular activities are activity programs that take place outside of programmed school hours. Researchers realize that there are many shortcomings in the articles that have been compiled, so researchers expect suggestions from readers to improve this article. Access to justice in the light of everyday problems and prejudice: A pilot study on the experiences of people with epilepsy in Finland

PurposeThe aim of this socio-legal pilot study is to gain insight into the access to justice for people with epilepsy in Finland by identifying the everyday problems experienced by them. Stigma, prejudice and their impact on the lives of people with epilepsy has been widely documented in the literature. Thus, we also wanted to explore whether there is a link between reported everyday problems and perceived prejudice. MethodsIn the first phase of the study, court cases were used to describe the everyday problems of people with epilepsy in Finland. In the second phase, descriptive statistical methods were used to analyse the survey data collected from adults with epilepsy in Finland (n = 237). ResultsBased on only a few existing court cases, the problems faced by people with epilepsy seem to be similar to those faced by other groups of people with disabilities. The most common problems reported by our survey respondents were related to healthcare services (73 %) and work (54 %), followed by family (25 %), mistreatment (25 %), housing (24 %) and goods and services (19 %). Both having refractory epilepsy and perceived prejudice seem to be linked with experiencing everyday problems. ConclusionThe results of this pilot study on the everyday problems experienced by people with epilepsy suggest that there are various gaps in their access to justice, even in a developed EU country like Finland.

Clustering is one of the roles in data mining which is very popularly used for data problems in solving everyday problems. Various algorithms and methods can support clustering such as Apriori. The Apriori algorithm is an algorithm that applies unsupervised learning in completing association and clustering tasks so that the Apriori algorithm is able to complete clustering analysis in Uninhabitable Houses and gain new knowledge about associations. Where the results show that the combination of 2 itemsets with a tendency value for Gas Stove fuel of 3 kg and the installed power meter for the attribute item criteria results in a minimum support value of 77% and a minimum confidence value of 87%. This proves that a priori is capable of clustering Uninhabitable Houses to help government work programs.
