Though, it has made progress on low vibration gear design and accuracy on gear manufacturing process, vibration problems due to alignment error, combination of meshing gears and non-uniformity of surface form of each teeth remains. Tooth surface measurement sometimes becomes inefficient to detect vibration problem due to small amount of surface deviation. In this research, we propose experimental estimation method of excitation force from vibration measurement results, and polar plot to classify gear vibration conciming to characteristics of surface deviation targetting meshing components vibration of helical gear pair. For precise estimation of excitation force, synchronous averaging technique is applied.
