Surface Integrity of Pre-sintered Ceramics and Composites Used for Dental Prostheses After CAD/CAM Abrasive Milling

All-ceramic fixed partial dental restorations are milled by CAD/CAM process. The significant challenges for such prostheses manufacturing are respecting functional and aesthetic requirements. Specific surface integrity (SI) might be manufactured in different anatomical and assembly prosthesis areas. Aesthetics, biological and mechanical responses require a low surface roughness. Contrariwise, the surface to be bonded needs to be sufficiently rough. The CAD/CAM process’s influence on prosthesis SI is not investigated in the industrial and scientific restorative dentistry community. This paper evaluates the influence of tools, biomaterials, and milling parameters on SI, especially the roughness, leading to topological decomposition of the prosthesis shape.

Application of Measuring Intelligent Robot in Building Deformation Monitoring

In the development of social economy, due to the scarcity of land resources and the improvement of people's aesthetic requirements, the construction technology continues to progress, and there are more and more super large, super high and novel buildings. People pay more and more attention to their construction safety and operation management safety. If the deformation amount and speed of the building exceed the safety range, it may endanger the safety of life and property. So, deformation monitoring is one of the important tasks. Due to the influence of observation time, location, observation environment and other factors, manual observation often cannot achieve satisfactory results. The main characteristics of intelligent measurement robot are automatic work and high measurement accuracy. Therefore, high-quality continuous observation can be achieved in building deformation monitoring. But the current application is still not perfect. How to apply intelligent measuring robot in building deformation monitoring and what application difficulties are the main problems discussed in this paper.

Effect of Ageing, Staining and Polishing on the Colour Stability of a Single, a Group Shade and Nano Fill Dental Composite: An In-vitro Study

Introduction: With the increase in aesthetic requirements, more people are requesting tooth coloured fillings. An anterior restoration is deemed unacceptable if its color changes significantly. Aim: To assess the colour stability of a single shade, a group shade and a nano fill dental resin composite which comes in multiple shades. Materials and Methods: This in-vitro study was conducted in the month of August 2021 at the Advanced Technology Dental Research Laboratory at the King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah,Western region, Saudi Arabia. Three composites were tested; a single shade (Omnichroma), a group shade (Optishade light (OL) and Optishade Medium (OM)) and a conventional nano fill (Z350) 40 cylindrical discs (10 mm in diameter and 2 mm in depth) were fabricated in total. Each material and shade to be tested had 10 samples per group (n=10). The materials were aged in a thermocycler for 5000 cycles then stained with either green tea or coffee for six days. Upon completion of the staining protocol, they were then polished with soflex diamond polishing system. Colour measurements were taken at each stage, calculated and compared. Mixed model repeated Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine significance of the color change (ΔE00) between materials and treatments and Bonferroni test was used for multiple comparison between groups. Results: The effect of ageing varied according to individual material; Z350 had lower ΔE00 when compared to other materials. After staining with tea, it was found that Z350 and Omnichroma exhibited a significant change (p<0.05) in ΔE00 when compared to OL. Polishing improved the ΔE00 in all the materials. All green tea-stained materials with the exception of omnichroma returned to a clinically acceptable E00 after polishing. After polishing coffee stained samples, OL and OM remained above the clinically acceptable threshold while Z350 and omnichroma were returned to a clinically acceptable level. Conclusion: All the materials showed a change in ΔE00 after ageing, with OM and Z350 being the only materials to exhibit a clinically acceptable change. While polishing decreased ΔE00 in all the materials, it did not return them all to a clinically acceptable level. Thus, polishing helps improve the appearance of stained restorations but may not be enough to completely remove stains, even in newly introduced direct aesthetic dental materials.

Analysis on the Influence of Western Ecological Aesthetics on Environmental Design of China's "Beautiful Countryside".

At this stage, the promotion of China's agricultural revitalization plan has provided new demands for the development of agricultural construction. In the process of urban and rural planning, more and more attention has been paid to the protection of rural traditional culture and aesthetic values, as well as the requirements of characteristic aesthetics. In recent years, as we pay more and more attention to the environmental protection ability and aesthetic ability of rural life, we also pay more attention to improving the rural environment, promoting rural rejuvenation, and paying attention to shaping the livable space quality of rural living environment to meet the needs of modern life and soul. “Beautiful countryside” is one of the modern development concepts explicitly put forward by China, which advocates the harmonious symbiosis aesthetic idea of “harmony between man and nature.” Building a beautiful countryside is the key point of rejuvenating the countryside, and the exploration of rural aesthetics is also the important significance of realizing the great rejuvenation goal of China's rural areas. Environmental design in the construction of “beautiful countryside” is a major decision and historical task for building a new countryside in China, and building landscape design suitable for the needs of rural development is the current requirement of social development. The article firstly analyzes the challenges and opportunities of China's “beautiful countryside” environmental construction; secondly, by digging into the philosophical ideas of deep ecology, ecological aesthetics, and the relationship between man and land in the West, it analyzes the application strategies and practical methods of these practical philosophies. It provides corresponding theoretical and practical enlightenment for my country's “beautiful countryside” environmental design strategy.

Application of Computer Network Multimedia Technology in Vocal Music Teaching Mode

Nowadays, with the continuous development of the times, multimedia technology(MT) is rapidly infiltrating people's lives, and people are paying more and more attention to multimedia teaching, which has been well applied in vocal music(VM) teaching. Since VM is a highly practical and relatively abstract subject, it is necessary to organically combine theory with practice. In addition, nowadays people have higher and higher requirements for music aesthetics, and the enrollment scale of VM majors is increasing, making traditional teaching methods no longer able to meet the needs of vocal talents. Because the network MT can well solve the problems in the traditional classroom and make up for the shortcomings, it has played an important role in improving classroom efficiency, improving the quality of teaching and teaching effects. At the same time, the use of modern methods for VM teaching can also provide teachers with more convenience. Therefore, under this background, it is necessary to combine modern education methods with VM teaching mode(VMTM) to realize the transformation of VMTM. This article uses questionnaire survey method and data analysis method to make use of the advantages of computer network MT to make VM teaching simpler and more intuitive, so as to achieve better VM teaching effects. According to the survey results, most interviewees believe that the application of computer network MT in the VMTM has certain effects and brings a lot of vitality to the development of the course.

Comparative analysis of wear resistant properties of materials used for direct restorations

Out of all the variety of materials available on the mar-ket to compensate for the lost hard tissues of teeth, the dentist in most cases prefers light-cured restoration ma-terials that meet both aesthetic and functional require-ments. The choice of material is highly dependent on each clinical case. The options for choosing a restoration material are characteristics similar to the properties of natural teeth, which would allow for high-quality resto-ration, and on the other hand, are able to minimize the violation of the edge fit. However, according to a number of studies, the probability of secondary caries after direct restoration of the hard tissues of the tooth, the cause of which is a violation of the marginal fit in the border area: enamel-composite, dentin-composite, is quite high. The purpose is to conduct a comparative analysis of materials used for direct restoration of teeth, capable of providing the most qualitative restoration of lost hard tissues of teeth. Materials and methods. Тhe study was carried out on 32 multi-root teeth of the lateral group of teeth of the upper and lower jaw. Different groups of resto-ration materials and adhesive systems were used as study materials. The simulation of thermocyclic loads of proto-types was carried out, followed by a fracture test using the Shimadzu AG-50kNXD machine. As a result of the study, diagrams were obtained showing the dependence of the stress applied to the test sample in MPa and the deformation resulting from the applied forces as a per-centage. Also, the results obtained reflect the calculation in all areas of the maximum applied force in Newtons and the maximum voltage in Mega Pascals. Research results.Тhe most resistant to mechanical stress were the samples, in the preparation of which the IV generation adhesive system OptiBond FL (Kerr) was used. The maximum value of the force that these samples were able to withstand was 353.27±4.80 N, and the value of the maximum volt-age was 28.11±0.38 MPa. In turn, the samples prepared using the self-etching adhesive system of the VII gener-ation G Bond (GC) turned out to be the least resistant to fracture of the four adhesive systems considered, they could withstand only a force of 265.20±3.76 N and a volt-age of 21.10±0.30 MPa. Conclusion. Тhe most resistant to mechanical stress were the samples, in the preparation of which an adhesive system of the IV generation OptiBond FL (Kerr) was used. The least fracture-resistant of the four adhesive systems considered were the samples prepared using the self-etching adhesive system of the VII genera-tion G Bond (GC)

A 10-Year Review of Surgical Outcomes at the Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland Resident Aesthetic Clinic.

In 2014, the Plastic Surgery Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) increased minimum aesthetic surgery requirements. Consequently, the resident aesthetic clinic (RAC) has become an ever more important modality for training plastic surgery residents. To analyze demographics and long-term surgical outcomes of aesthetic procedures performed at the Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland (JH/UM) RAC. A secondary objective was to evaluate the JH/UM RAC outcomes against those of peer RACs as well as board-certified plastic surgeons. We performed a retrospective chart review of all patients who underwent aesthetic procedures at the JH/UM RAC between 2011 and 2020. Clinical characteristics, minor complication rates, major complication rates, and revision rates from the JH/UM RAC were compared against 2 peer RACs. We compared the incidence of major complications between the JH/UM RAC and a cohort of patients from the CosmetAssure (Birmingham, AL) database. Pearson's chi-square test was used to compare complication rates between patient populations, with a significance set at 0.05. Four hundred ninety-five procedures were performed on 285 patients. The major complications rate was 1.0% (n = 5). Peer RACs had total major complication rates of 0.2% and 1.7% (P = .07 and P = .47, respectively). CosmetAssure patients matched to JH/UM RAC patients were found to have comparable total major complications rates of 1.8% vs 0.6% (P = .06), respectively. At JH/UM, the minor complication rate was 13.9%, while the revision rate was 5.9%. The JH/UM RAC provides residents the education and training necessary to produce surgical outcomes comparable to peer RACs as well as board-certified plastic surgeons.

Minimally Invasive Surgical Approach for the Treatment of Miller’s Class I Recession Defects- A Report of 2 Cases

Gingival recession is defined as the apical displacement of the gingival margin leading to exposure of the root surface. Occurrence of the gingival recessions in the anterior teeth is a major concern for the patients as it leads to compromised esthetics and achieving the esthetic and functional requirements of the patients remains a major therapeutic challenge for the treating dental surgeon. Incorporating the principles of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technique (MIST), surgical trauma is minimized, thus causing less cell damage, eventually resulting in less inflammation and less discomfort. Minimally invasive surgical technique aims to achieve esthetically superior outcomes that are made possible due to improved visual acuity. Therefore, the intent of this case report was to emphasize the impact of implementing the minimally invasive surgical procedure in the management of marginal gingival recessions using the conventional coronally advanced flap (CAF) and the Tarnow’s technique, with the use of microsurgical instruments and magnifying surgical loupes.

Aesthetic and Functional Full Mouth Rehabilitation of a Patient Using Extra Coronal Attachments: a case report

Achieving aesthetic and functional requirements in full mouth rehabilitation using combined fixed and removable dentures is difficult. Strategic diagnosis and treatment planning are required to overcome this challenge. Numerous conventional and cutting-edge treatments can result in successful restorations. One such method of treatment is precision attachment retained partial dentures. Selecting strategic abutments is key to the success of the partial denture. This case report describes full-mouth rehabilitation of maxillary and mandibular arches using fixed and attachment retained cast partial dentures.

The dentist-therapist in clinical practice often has to carry out aesthetic restoration of the teeth of the frontal group using composite materials. The requirements for dental treatment of the frontal group increase with the improvement of materials and tools. The methods of recreating the aesthetics of the tooth used in the conditions of the dental laboratory are not always suitable for use in the clinic of therapeutic dentistry. This is due to the peculiarities of performing restoration in the oral cavity, the properties of composite materials, as well as the limited working time of the doctor. The improvement of materials and restoration techniques made it possible to meet the high aesthetic requirements of patients. So, the vast majority of people expect a dentist to create so-called invisible restorations. Patients are interested in preserving more tooth tissues and want to take part in choosing the color and shape of future work. They also set the dentist the task of predicting the final result even before the start of treatment. Therefore, it is important for a doctor to keep up with the development of new technologies and improve his manual skills, improving the quality of restorations. Dentists often face a choice between direct and indirect methods of restoring the teeth of the frontal group. The most common causes of dental injuries are falls and bumps. Mainly the upper central incisors suffer, most often there is an uncomplicated fracture of the crown parts of these teeth (without opening the tooth cavity). Many materials and methods are used to restore the front teeth after injury. The possibilities of adhesive dentistry allow to restore the natural appearance of teeth with almost complete preservation of intact hard tissues. We describe recommendations for the use of composite restorations for conservative restoration of injured teeth.

The relevance of the study is due to the importance of the period of preschool childhood in the upbringing and education of the child and the creation of conditions and prerequisites for harmonious, full-fledged development. The article actualizes the problem of education of culture of behavior of preschool children. The article is aimed at highlighting the peculiarities of fostering a culture of behavior of preschool children. Research methods: theoretical (analysis of literature on research problems), empirical (pedagogical observations). The essence and content of the concept of research are clarified, namely: «culture of behavior», which is defined as a way for a child to perform actions and actions that meet the moral and aesthetic requirements of society, is reflected in the confirmation of expected expectations on the part of adults, peers and ensures his personal growth. It was clarified that preschool age is a period of intensive socialization of the child’s personality, gaining life experience, when there is an active interest in relationships with other people, there is a need to familiarize with certain norms of communication and, as a result, to develop an individual culture of behavior. To foster a culture of behavior is to constantly worry about children growing a culture of human relationships, to become generous with affection, goodness, attention, help and care of the child’s soul and that all these qualities are manifested in pleasant forms of behavior for others. It is noted that the preschool educational institution is a leading social institution in which preschool children receive not only basic knowledge, skills and abilities, but also acquire the foundations of a culture of behavior. The article reveals components of the culture of behavior such as culture of activity, culture of communication, cultural and hygienic skills and habits. The task of educating the culture of behavior of preschool children is outlined: the formation of ideas about norms of behavior, about the moral qualities of the individual, the development of moral feelings; expansion, deepening and systematization of knowledge about the norms and rules of cultural behavior, the development of the ability to evaluate their own and other people’s actions, the formation of positive relations to norms of behavior and negative relation to anti-social manifestations, the formation of skills, skills and habits of cultural behavior. The main components of methodical actions aimed at educating the culture of behavior of preschool children are proposed. The program of education of culture of behavior in preschool children is proposed.

THROMBOCYTES AND SOME BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF BLOOD IN PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT RESULTS OF HEALING OF FACIAL SOFT TISSUES

The ability to regenerate is inherent in every tissue of the human body. The problem of pathological wound healing remains relevant due to the growing aesthetic requirements of patients. The regenerative ability of damaged tissues ensures the restoration of function. Purpose of the study. Analyze some biochemical parameters of blood in patients with different results of healing of wounds of soft tissues of the face. Material and methods of research. Based on the results of the conducted studies, the regenerative ability of damaged tissues was studied. During hospitalization, general clinical studies were conducted. A series of laboratory tests (general and biochemical blood tests) was performed in patients of the main and control groups (with and without complications, respectively). A comprehensive study of the course of the wound process was conducted in 30 patients with wounds of the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Patients range in age from 18 to 69 years. The average age of patients is 43.5 years. Statistical processing of the obtained results was performed using the Microsoft Excel program. Results and their discussion. The obtained results of statistical analysis p<0.01 indicate a significant difference in biochemical parameters in patients with suture divergence and without complications of wound healing. Conclusions. Based on the conducted studies, the level of total blood protein and platelet count are important components of the body’s regeneration potential, as they reflect the body’s readiness to repair damaged tissues. A significant decrease in total blood protein levels and platelet count may be a risk factor for postoperative wound healing complications. Analysis of laboratory tests builds an important foundation for predicting possible complications, drawing up a treatment plan, and correcting existing somatic diseases. According to the author, it is important to conduct repeated studies, which makes it possible to determine the course of the infectious process and the effectiveness of treatment.

Architectural and planning organization of peasant (farmer) farms in the conditions of socio-economic transformations in Russia: current trends and prospects for the development of farms

The author examines in detail such aspects of the topic as: the development of farms, the organization of the production environment, the formation of the architectural and planning structure, the influence of socio-economic legal conditions of the region and the peculiarities of the country on the planning structure of the farm, emerging trends in rural architecture. These aspects are now most relevant due to the complexity of rural production, the social stratification of the rural population, the establishment of market relations, new socio-economic requirements for architectural objects and new aesthetic requirements for the design of buildings and structures. The novelty of the research lies in the use of an environmental approach to solving urban planning and architectural problems of organizing a farmer's habitat. The main conclusions of the study are the formation of types of planning structures of the farm. Based on the conducted research, a scheme of planning structures of farms has been formed, the dependencies between the production and residential area of the farmer have been determined. The architectural and planning organization of peasant (farmer) farms in the structure of the district, region and industrial zones is determined. The sustainable direction of the rural environment has been determined at the present time. Also an important conclusion of the work is to determine the influence of the world order on the planning organization of farms.

23 - Mechanical Strength Evaluation of a Printed Dental Space Maintainer

Due to the latest progress of 3D scanning and printing technology in the medical field, attempts have been made to apply this technology also in preventive orthodontics in order to obtain an aesthetic dental space maintainer. The aim of this study is to observe the mechanical load distribution on a SLA band and loop space maintainer in order to develop a high-precision aesthetic dental space maintainer using computer-aided design (CAD) / computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and 3D printing by resin-based additive technique. On account of increasing aesthetic requirements, an initiative was made to replace the classic band and loop space maintainer with a metal-free appliance, using an innovative technique for creating the esthetic design of the space maintainer. Four band and loop space maintainers were achieved through stereolithography (SLA). After scanning the dental cast, a 3D software Exocad was used to establish the design of the dental space maintainer. They were manufactured using two different 3D printers, two with Formlabs form2 using C&B Micro Filld Hybrid (MFH) resin and two with Creality using NextDent SG resin. After printing, all samples were placed in an isopropyl alcohol bath to clean them of residues and resin excess, then placed in the UV oven for drying. Shortly afterwards processing they were subjected to the mechanical strength test by compression using the Zwick/ Roell Z005 device. For the fulfillment of the mechanical resistance tests, the dental cast made by the classic plaster technique was used as support. Following mechanical tests, it was observed that these devices yielded to the action of a vertical force between 16-31 N. There were no significant differences between the two materials, but the highest resistance was observed in the C&B Micro resin Filld Hybrid (MFH) using Formlabs form2 printer which is consistent with the minimum masticatory forces developed in mixed dentition 26.21-41.5 N for males and 8.05-12.61 for females. Given the importance of dental aesthetics nowadays, 3D printing offers the possibility to manufacture an aesthetic dental space maintainer device with a better adaptation to the clinical situation. The mechanical properties being closely related to the object design, it is important to ensure a sufficient thickness of the device to prevent fractures under the masticatory forces.

Prosthodontic rehabilitation using broadrick flag

In procedures involving fixed prosthodontics, when it has been established that restoration of some or all of the posterior teeth is necessary, the use of the Broadrick occlusal plane analyzer has proven to be an easy, predictable and practical method to determine an occlusal plane that will fulfill functional and esthetic occlusal requirements. Unfortunately, most semi adjustable articulator manufacturers do not offer any such occlusal plane analyzers which could be used with these instruments. This article is an attempt to highlight the use of a customized Broadrick Occlusal Plane Analyzer using the Hanau H2 semi adjustable articulator to establish and determine the correct Curve of Spee for the given occlusal plane.

Ambulatory Endoscopic Thyroidectomy via a Chest-Breast Approach Has an Acceptable Safety Profile for Thyroid Nodule.

IntroductionWith the growing esthetic requirements, endoscopic thyroidectomy develops rapidly and is widely accepted by practitioners and patients to avoid the neck scar caused by open thyroidectomy. Although ambulatory open thyroidectomy is adopted by multiple medical centers, the safety and potential of ambulatory endoscopic thyroidectomy via a chest-breast approach (ETCBA) is poorly investigated.Material and MethodsPatients with thyroid nodules who received conventional or ambulatory ETCBA at Xiangya hospital, Central South University from January 2017 to June 2020 were retrospectively included. The incidence of postoperative complications, 30-days readmission rate, financial cost, duration of hospitalization, mental health were mainly investigated.ResultsA total of 260 patients were included with 206 (79.2%) suffering from thyroid carcinoma, while 159 of 260 received ambulatory ETCBA. There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications (P=0.249) or 30-days readmission rate (P=1.000). In addition, The mean economic cost of the ambulatory group had a 29.5% reduction compared with the conventional group (P<0.001). Meanwhile, the duration of hospitalization of the ambulatory group was also significantly shorter than the conventional group (P<0.001). Patients received ambulatory ETCBA showed a higher level of anxiety (P=0.041) and stress (P=0.016). Subgroup analyses showed consistent results among patients with thyroid cancer with a 12.9% higher complication incidence than the conventional ETCBA (P=0.068).ConclusionAmbulatory ETCBA is as safe as conventional ETCBA for selective patients with thyroid nodules or thyroid cancer, however with significant economic benefits and shorter duration of hospitalization. Extra attention should be paid to manage the anxiety and stress of patients who received ambulatory ETCBA.

Biomechanical Comparison of Dominant and Non-Dominant Limbs During Leap-Landings in Contemporary Style Female Dancers.

The execution strategy of technical dance movements is constrained by aesthetic and qualitative artistic requirements. As such, there are limited leap-landing strategies that may be used by dancers when executing a grand jeté or saut de chat. The purpose of this study was to determine potential differences in lower extremity angular positioning and joint loading when performing a dance-style leap landing. Fifteen female dancers (age: 20 ± 1 years; height: 1.61 ± 0.13 m; weight: 58.00 ± 11.89 kg) completed six leap-landing trials during which three-dimensional kinematics and kinetics data were collected. Paired-samples t-tests (α = 0.05) and Cohen's d effect sizes (ES; large ≥ 0.8) were used to compare the following variables: jump height; peak vertical ground reaction force; loading time; loading rate; joint angular positioning of the ankle, knee, hip, and trunk in the frontal and sagittal planes; and joint angular impulse of the ankle, knee, and hip in the frontal and sagittal planes between the dominant and non-dominant limbs. Frontal plane hip angular impulse was significantly greater in the dominant limb (p = 0.023, ES = 1.53). While no other statistically significant differences were observed between dominant and non-dominant limbs, moderate effect sizes were observed for the hip and trunk angles in the frontal plane along with hip impulse in the sagittal plane. This study indicates that dancers might slightly alter their landing strategy at the hip joint when leap-landing onto the dominant limb. Frontal plane hip mechanics should be considered to minimize overuse injury potential in the dominant limb.

Common irregularities and its effects on reinforced concrete building response

In most of the countries, the irregular building construction is popular for fulfilling both aesthetic and functional requirements. However, the evidence of past earthquakes in Nepal and the globe demonstrated the higher level of seismic vulnerability of the buildings due to irregularities. Considering this fact, the present study highlighted the common irregularities and its effect on reinforced concrete building response. The effect of structural irregularities was studied through numerical analysis. The geometrical, mass and stiffness irregularities were created by removing bays in different floor levels and removing the columns at different sections respectively. In this study, the numerical models were created in finite element program SAP2000. The structural performance was studied using both non-linear static pushover and dynamic time history analysis. The results indicate that the level of irregularities significantly influenced the behavior of structures.
