Management of Equipment and Machinery Assets Owned by Regional Government

This research aims to analyze the management of equipment and machine assets belonging to local governments. This research is categorized as descriptive research, which seeks an overview and explanation of leadership strategies regarding effectiveness, performance, etc. The data is collected in report excerpts and not in numbers that provide an overview of the presentation and secondary data, namely data and information quoted from books, journals, print media, and articles related to regional asset management. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results obtained by the West Sulawesi Provincial Government in OPD X have implemented asset management of its equipment and machinery. However, there are obstacles to its implementation. The West Sulawesi Provincial government at OPD carries out the inventory stage. Furthermore, it is still at the equipment and machine asset inventory stage, and the West Sulawesi Provincial government has not codified and labeled every equipment and machine asset it owns.

Opportunities for improving your medical equipment asset base

Equipment Asset Management and Equipment Health Based on Fuzzy Algorithm Evaluation Model

In this paper, we addresses the growing importance of enterprise equipment asset management efficiency. Proposing an advanced approach rooted in combinatorial principles and scientific computing, the study introduces a comprehensive evaluation model for equipment value. Overcoming the limitations of traditional models, a fuzzy algorithm establishes a three-dimensional cross-compound element, encompassing equipment reliability, stability, and accuracy. Hierarchical analysis and the entropy power method determine weights for evaluation indexes, facilitating a quantitative assessment of measurement and production equipment health. Validation through a real energy meter production line demonstrates the model’s effectiveness in comparison to real defect rates. This innovative evaluation model not only offers asset managers a new method for assessing equipment assets but also presents a forward-looking strategy for enterprises to enhance their asset management proficiency, emphasizing the synergies between combinatorics and scientific computing in addressing contemporary economic challenges.

P092 Automation in Equipment Asset Management for Laboratory Efficiencies

Abstract Introduction Asset management of laboratory equipment is essential to patient safety. Traceability enables any patient affected by equipment that has been recalled, or subsequently been found faulty, to be retested. Sleep equipment in home, ward or laboratory needs to be clearly documented but this paperwork is tedious and manual. Methods A portable barcode scanner with software was added to the laboratory asset management and the time efficiencies were evaluated. Results The time reduction of using a barcode scanner to manual data entry was found to decrease time approximately fourfold, from 8 mins (std 1.5mins) to 2.2 mins (std 0.5mins). This is for each sleep laboratory testing bed and can equate to 35 minutes in a six-bed sleep laboratory. Accuracy of data is assured with a barcode scanner, compared to manual input. Discussion Using automation to replace manual tasks in a sleep laboratory saves time and ensures data accuracy. Further advances in automation for tagging medical devices would improve this in areas with high use of home or ward devices.

A Symbol Recognition System for Single-Line Diagrams Developed Using a Deep-Learning Approach

In numerous electrical power distribution systems and other engineering contexts, single-line diagrams (SLDs) are frequently used. The importance of digitizing these images is growing. This is primarily because better engineering practices are required in areas such as equipment maintenance, asset management, safety, and others. Processing and analyzing these drawings, however, is a difficult job. With enough annotated training data, deep neural networks perform better in many object detection applications. Based on deep-learning techniques, a dataset can be used to assess the overall quality of a visual system. Unfortunately, there are no such datasets for single-line diagrams available to the general research community. To augment real image datasets, generative adversarial networks (GANs) can be used to create a variety of more realistic training images. The goal of this study was to explain how deep-convolutional-GAN- (DCGAN) and least-squares-GAN- (LSGAN) generated images are evaluated for quality. In order to improve the datasets and confirm the effectiveness of synthetic datasets, our work blended synthetic images with actual images. Additionally, we added synthetic images to the original picture collection to prepare an augmented dataset for symbol detection. In this scenario, we employed You Look Only Once (YOLO) V5, one of the versions of YOLO. The recognition performance was improved, reaching an accuracy of 95% with YOLO V5, after combining the actual images with the synthetic images created by the DCGAN and LSGAN. By incorporating synthetic samples into the dataset, the overall quality of the training data was improved, and the learning process for the model became simpler. Furthermore, the proposed method significantly improved symbol detection in SLDs, according to the findings of the experiments.

Study on The Cost Attribution Method of Power Grid Equipment Maintenance under Multi-dimensional Lean Management Model

The current conventional cost manage- ment model of power grid operation has the problem of single cost apportionment standard, which leads to the poor attribution accuracy. In this regard, the cost attribution method of grid equipment maintenance cost under multi-dimensional lean management mode is proposed. The whole life cycle cost of grid equipment operation is analyzed, and the total cost of grid equipment asset operation and maintenance is calculated, and finally, the operation cost method is used to construct the cost attribution model of maintenance cost. The analysis of the experimental results shows that when the proposed method is used to attribute the maintenance cost cost, the attribution error value of the method is low and has a more desirable cost attribution effect.

Application of Industrial Internet for Equipment Asset Management in Social Digitalization Platform Based on System Engineering Using Fuzzy DEMATEL-TOPSIS

In any industry, Equipment Asset Management (EAM) is at the core of the production activities. With the rapid development of Industrial Internet technologies and platforms, the EAM based on the Industrial Internet has become an important development trend. Meanwhile, the paradigm of EAM is changing, from a single machine to integrated systems, from the phase of using them to the end of their lifecycle, from breakdown maintenance to predictive maintenance, and from local decision-making to collaborative optimization. However, because of the lack of a unified understanding of the Industrial Internet platforms (IIPs) and the lack of a comprehensive reference architecture and detailed implementation framework, the implementation of EAM projects will face greater risks according to special needs in different industries. Based on the method of system engineering, this study proposes a general reference model and a reference architecture of implementation for the Industrial Internet Solution for Industrial Equipment Asset Management (I3EAM). Further, to help enterprise to evaluate and select their best-fit I3EAM scheme and platform partner, we proposed a set of performance indicators of I3EAM schemes and a quantitative decision-making method based on fuzzy DEMATEL-TOPSIS. Finally, a case study for an I3EAM in automated container terminals was conducted. In the multi-criteria decision environment with complex uncertainty, the project group identified the I3EAM metrics priorities and social digitalization platforms that were more in line with the actual needs of the automated container terminal and firms. The complexity and time of the decision-making process were dramatically reduced. In terms of feasibility and validity, the decision result was positively verified by the feedback from the enterprise implementation. The given model, architecture, and method in this study can create a certain reference value for various industrial enterprises to carry out the analysis and top-level planning of their I3EAM needs and choose the partner for co-implementation. In addition, the research results of this study have the potential to support the construction of standard systems and the planning and optimization of the cross-domain social platform, etc.

Effect of earnings generation and retention capacity on the financial performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria

This study evaluates the generation and retention capacities of financial earnings of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. There has been a widening gap between earnings generated and portion of the earnings retained thereof vis-a-vis the annual financial profits disclosures by DMBs, hence this study examines whether Earnings Generation Capacities (EGC) and Earnings Retention Capacities (ERC) of DMBs optimize their annual financial profit disclosures. This study adopts the ex post facto research design using secondary data from annual reports of seven DMBs from 2015 to 2020. Panel Regression Technique aided by E-View 9.0 statistical software was used for analyses. The results show that EGC and ERC have significant positive and negative effects respectively on the profitability of DMBs in Nigeria. This implies that assets of the DMBs are underutilized and cost management strategies under-optimized thereby undermining the achievement of optimal earnings generation and retention capabilities. The study recommends that DMBs need to improve on their asset utilization strategies and also adopt efficient in-house cost curtailment initiatives on Procurement and Equipment Asset Maintenance Costs (PEAMC) to enable DMBs to boost profitability, and strengthen going concern to meet shareholders’ return expectations.

Effect of U-Flex-to-Install and Dynamic U-Flexing on Li-Ion Battery State of Health Degradation Subjected to Varying Fold Orientations, Folding Speeds, Depths of Charge, C-Rates, and Temperatures

Abstract The demand for wearable consumer electronics, fitness accessories, and biomedical equipment has led to the growth research and development of thin flexible batteries. Wearable equipment and other asset monitoring applications require conformal installation of power sources on nonplanar surfaces. For power sources in wearable electronics, durability to sustain repetitive mechanical stresses induced by human body motion is paramount along with the usual desirable power source characteristics. Previous research documenting the reliability of statically and dynamically folded power sources is scarce and does not follow standardized test protocols. Particularly, the use of manual stressing for mechanical folding of the power sources instead of a mechanical test setup is a key shortcoming in existing literature. Data are lacking on battery life cycling and in situ mechanical stress-testing of the power sources including their impact of performance and reliability. This study aims to overcome these deficiencies by testing a commercial Li-ion power source under static as well as dynamic folding. Furthermore, the fold orientation and its fold speed are varied to evaluate the effect of different mechanical stress topologies on the power source. Finally, a regression model was developed to capture the effect of these use parameters on battery capacity degradation.

This asset maintenance system aims to facilitate the maintenance of asset data, especially at the Jambi Class III Port Health Office. The Jambi Class III Health Office is a Technical Implementation Unit within the Ministry of Health which is under and responsible to the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control. Asset maintenance in the office still uses the manual method, namely the person in charge of the room comes directly to make a request for repairs, making it difficult for officers to maintain these assets. To overcome this problem, we need a form of asset maintenance system that can assist in the repair request process. Making this application is done by collecting data, system planning, system analysis, system design and database. The database used is MySQL. The input requirements for the Information Technology Equipment Asset Maintenance System are asset data, room data, and work area data. The process requirements needed are: Login process, request process, and input, update, and delete processes. The output data produced is in the form of information that will be attached, including: the request report is approved, and the request data report is rejected. The purpose of making this thesis is the creation of a Web-Based Information Technology Device Asset Maintenance System. With the existence of a new system that has been designed and created by researchers, it can help facilitate the parties involved in maintaining information technology equipment assets.

Introduction: To prevent accidents and minimize the risk of unexpected disasters in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, an inspection of equipment in terms of mechanical integrity and safe and consistent service providing are of utmost importance. The purpose of this study is integrated risk and asset management by implementing risk-based inspection techniques in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
 Methods: Firstly, this systematic review study identified a list of keywords based on RBI and then exclusively on the internal and external databases of Science Direct, Pub med, Google Squalor, SDI, Google Searcher, and Scopus without a time limit. Afterward, keywords, including risk management, probability of failure, asset integrated management, risk-based inspection, consequences of failure, and corrosion management, were searched.
 Result: A review of various studies showed that the risk-based inspection approach provided the necessary platform for upgrading and formulating new inspection, repair, maintenance, equipment risk management systems and asset integration in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries and played a significant role in reducing the risk levels to its acceptable limits.
 Conclusion: By analyzing the results of studies, it was found that using this method will lead to the effective implementation of risk management, reliability, and corrosion management in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. In fact, the system intended to provide process safety, increase risk perception of damage in line with the respective risk management, and ensure the integrity of the assets in operational units.

In order to allow the relevant processes to be modelled accurately and efficiently, the HLPN features are used, such as specific data about individual components is taken account of in the general model. The HLPN, developed using international standards, is described in detail and a framework of its analysis for reliability and lifecycle cost evaluation is proposed. In this novel whole system model different OLE component types and their instances on a line are modelled simultaneously, and the dependencies are considered in terms of opportunistic inspection and maintenance. An example HLPN for the catenary wire is used to illustrate the model, and an application of the methodology for whole lifecycle cost evaluation of a two-mile OLE line is presented.
