독립운동가 박용만의 출판 활동 연구 : 1910년대 미주와 하와이, 1920년대 중국 북경을 중심으로

This study aims to analyze the meaning of the six books published by independence activist Park Yong-man from 1911 to 1927 after his arrival in the United States in 1905, as well as the publishing process and activities. To this end, the publication circumstances of the six books published were investigated based on the covers, copyrights, and prefaces, and the editing and production methods of the books were analyzed. In addition, related materials were analyzed to identify the context and meaning surrounding Park Yong-man’s publishing activities. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, Park Yong-man made efforts to find the optimal method that suited the purpose and characteristics of the books in the time, space, and technological environments of the United States and China in the 1910s and 1920s. As a result, the characteristics of his publishing activities became differentiated depending on the time and place. Second, Park Yong-man’s publishing activities expanded beyond the role of an “author” to that of a “publisher,” and his social network with independence movement organizations and figures played an important role. Third, Park Yong-man’s publishing activities were a ‘socio-cultural activity and independence movement’ that overcame the many difficulties experienced by overseas Koreans during the Japanese colonial period in a political, social, and technological environment with high complexity and changing characteristics.

Direct implementation of AI-Based Facial Recognition for ITSI students

The development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based facial recognition technology has become a significant research topic in the field of computing and security. At the Indonesian Palm Oil Institute (ITSI), AI-based facial recognition is introduced to students to improve their skills in developing AI-based applications. This study aims to implement and test a facial recognition system using a Python program by utilizing a dataset generated independently. This research method involves several stages, namely collecting ITSI students' facial data, data processing, creating a facial recognition model using a machine learning algorithm, and evaluating model performance. The dataset used was developed through a live shooting session involving active student participation. The facial recognition model was trained using a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm that was optimized to improve accuracy. The results of the study showed that the developed model was able to achieve high facial recognition accuracy, with an average accuracy rate of 92%. The discussion includes an analysis of factors that affect accuracy, such as variations in lighting and shooting angles, as well as the potential use of this technology in a campus environment, including for attendance and security purposes. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of AI-based facial recognition can be effectively applied in an academic environment, as well as providing students with practical experience in developing and testing AI applications. This study also opens up opportunities for further research on improving the performance of facial recognition systems and their application in various real-world scenarios.

Психологическая безопасность образовательной среды: становление направления и перспективы развития

<p style="text-align: justify;">Psychological problems of safety in the modern world have acquired an extremely high relevance due to the growing spectrum of threats present in the socio-cultural environment. Research on the problems of psychological safety of the educational environment and its subjects is one of the areas of achieving the goal set by the decree of President V. V. Putin on the national development goals of Russia until 2030. The purpose of this publication is to analyze the history, current state and prospects for the development of this area in educational psychology and other areas of psychological research. Research design. Research in this area began at the end of the 20th century and is actively continuing today. In 2003, we developed and defended the concept of psychological safety of the educational environment, assessment methods and creation technologies, which still serve as a guide for new theoretical and practical developments. Results. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, we argue that it is a safe educational environment that maintains the state of human psychological safety. Safety means the presence of certain conditions necessary for life, development and activity. The educational environment is a set of conditions in which the formation and development of a person occurs throughout their entire life. A modern student interacts with many social environments: family, street, media environment, Internet environment, educational environment of a school and additional education organizations, etc.</p>

Quantitative Measurement of Cooperative Binding in Partially Dissociated Water Dimers at the Hematite "R-Cut" Surface.

Water-solid interfaces pervade the natural environment and modern technology. On some surfaces, water-water interactions induce the formation of partially dissociated interfacial layers; understanding why is important to model processes in catalysis or mineralogy. The complexity of the partially dissociated structures often makes it difficult to probe them quantitatively. Here, we utilize normal incidence X-ray standing waves (NIXSW) to study the structure of partially dissociated water dimers (H2O-OH) at the α-Fe2O3(012) surface (also called the (11̅02) or "R-cut" surface): a system simple enough to be tractable yet complex enough to capture the essential physics. We find the H2O and terminal OH groups to be the same height above the surface within experimental error (1.45 ± 0.04 and 1.47 ± 0.02 Å, respectively), in line with DFT-based calculations that predict comparable Fe-O bond lengths for both water and OH species. This result is understood in the context of cooperative binding, where the formation of the H-bond between adsorbed H2O and OH induces the H2O to bind more strongly and the OH to bind more weakly compared to when these species are isolated on the surface. The surface OH formed by the liberated proton is found to be in plane with a bulk truncated (012) surface (-0.01 ± 0.02 Å). DFT calculations based on various functionals correctly model the cooperative effect but overestimate the water-surface interaction.

The impact of ICT goods exports and environmental technology innovation on mineral rents: Evidence from OECD countries.

This study investigates the effects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) goods exports and environmental technology innovation (ETI) on mineral rents using a panel dataset of 23 OECD countries from 2000 to 2020. Employing a fixed-effects regression and several robustness checks (FGLS, PCSE, and DKSE), we find that ICT goods exports are positively associated with mineral rents, while ETI exerts a negative impact. Notably, the positive effect of ICT goods exports was more pronounced in countries with higher levels of ICT goods exports. Our findings underscore the complex interplay among technological advancements, environmental sustainability, and economic outcomes in resource-dependent economies, emphasizing the need for tailored policy interventions to navigate these multifaceted dynamics.

From Disruption to Continuity: Understanding Organizational Resilience Strategies in the Face of Technological Change

Совершенствование преподавания инженерно-графических дисциплин

The article is devoted to the study of modern methods of teaching engineering and graphic disciplines with an emphasis on the use of digital technologies such as computer-aided design (CAD) and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR). In the context of rapidly developing engineering practice, traditional teaching methods, including manual drawing and standard teaching approaches, are becoming less relevant. As part of the research conducted in the 2023-2024 academic year, an experiment was organized in which two groups of students took part: one studied using traditional methods, the other used modern CAD and VR/AR technologies. The experiment showed that the use of these technologies significantly increases the level of material assimilation and motivation of students. CAD systems allow students to accelerate the process of mastering design skills and create more accurate drawings, and virtual reality technologies help to better visualize complex spatial structures, which contributes to a deep understanding of the educational material. The article offers recommendations on the integration of these technologies into the educational process aimed at improving the effectiveness of teaching engineering and graphic disciplines and improving the preparation of students for future professional activities in a rapidly changing technological environment.

IoT Integrated Smart Parking Zone and Website with Stand-alone System and Wireless Technology

The research project works to digitalize the full parking management system, transform the manual parking methods, solve traffic and road congestion problem and show live updates of the designated parking slots. It is ecofriendly and eliminates human interaction. It also offers personal and corporate business earnings. In the project, anyone can book time slots for parking following their convenient schedule, pay bills via the online payment system, control the entrance while entering and exit gate in the parking area with the vehicle using the website system. Users do not have to use any extra identity instrument, like- RFID Cards, QR Codes etc. The system will verify them by online credentials. Moreover, people can see the live slot updates for better security. The project collaborated with 3 major technology parts which are practical hardware, software and database system. NodeMCU, Ultrasonic Sensors, Servo motors, and other technical components are used in the hardware part. PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS etc. codes are implemented for the website development. Firebase Realtime Database and MySQL are integrated for the cloud and local database management with the hardware and software parts for building the IoT technology environment and infrastructure.

Conceptualizing Extended Reality Metaverse-based Pedagogy Model: A Hospitality and Tourism Education Perspective

The prevalence of online learning has significantly increased, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the shift to online education has presented numerous obstacles and concerns. The correlation between a lack of enthusiasm towards online learning and subpar academic achievements suggests the necessity to tackle the issues that impact students' involvement. Educators need to address obstacles encountered by students in online learning, including diminished concentration and inadequate learning delivery. Metaverse technologies have attracted growing interest among academia and practitioners for their possibilities in online education. Although metaverse technologies show promise for online education, there is a lack of research on their suitability for hospitality education. Comprehending how metaverse technologies can be seamlessly incorporated into online hospitality educational environments is crucial for the progression of such technology. Therefore, this study aims to conceptualize an extended reality metaverse-based pedagogy model for online hospitality education. The conceptual paper is a great resource for stakeholders who are interested in investigating the possibilities of metaverse technologies for hospitality education. This work also establishes a basis for future research that investigates the application of metaverse technologies in online educational environments.

Improvements in Transient Testing Reactor (TREAT) with a Choice of Filter

The safe and reliable operation of nuclear reactors has always been one of the topmost priorities in the nuclear industry. Transient testing allows us to understand the time-dependent behavior of the neutron population in response to either a planned change in the reactor conditions or unplanned circumstances. These unforeseen conditions might occur due to sudden reactivity insertions, feedback, power excursions, instabilities, and accidents. To study such behavior, we need transient testing, which is like car crash testing to estimate the durability and strength of a car design. In nuclear designs, such transient testing can simulate a wide range of accidents due to sudden reactivity insertions and helps study the feasibility and integrity of the fuel used in certain reactor types. This testing involves a high neutron flux environment and real-time imaging technology with advanced instrumentation with appropriate accuracy and resolution to study the fuel slumping behavior. With the aid of transient testing and adequate imaging tools, it is possible to test the safety basis for reactor and fuel designs that serves as a gateway in licensing advanced reactors in the future. To that end, it is crucial to fully understand advanced imaging techniques both analytically and via simulations. This paper presents an innovative method of supporting real-time imaging of fuel pins and other structures during transient testing. The major fuel-motion detection device that is studied in this dissertation is the Hodoscope which requires collimators. This paper provides 1) an MCNP model and simulation of a TREAT core with a central fuel element replaced by a slotted fuel element that provides an open path between test samples and a hodoscope detector, and 2) a choice of good filter to improve image resolution.

Progress in Research on Co-Packaged Optics

In the 5G era, the demand for high-bandwidth computing, transmission, and storage has led to the development of optoelectronic interconnect technology. This technology has evolved from traditional board-edge optical modules to smaller and more integrated solutions. Co-packaged optics (CPO) has evolved as a solution to meet the growing demand for data. Compared to typical optoelectronic connectivity technology, CPO presents distinct benefits in terms of bandwidth, size, weight, and power consumption. This study presents an overview of CPO, highlighting its fundamental principles, advantages, and distinctive features. Additionally, it examines the current research progress of two distinct approaches utilizing Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) and silicon photonics integration technology. Additionally, it provides a concise overview of the many application situations of CPO. Expanding on this, the analysis focuses on the CPO using 2D, 2.5D, and 3D packaging techniques. Lastly, taking into account the present technological environment, the scientific obstacles encountered by CPO are analyzed, and its future progress is predicted.

Analysis of the Teaching Reform Path for Environmental Engineering Technology Majors in Higher Vocational Education Based on the “1+X” Certificate

In the context of building an innovative country, the country has put forward higher requirements for talent cultivation in vocational colleges. Vocational colleges should continuously explore and improve talent cultivation work to meet these requirements while cultivating more professional and practical talents for the country and society. This article takes the Environmental Engineering Technology major as an example. Integrating the concept of “1+X” certificate into environmental engineering technology teaching can better construct the curriculum system of the Environmental Engineering Technology major, make the curriculum structure more scientific, complete and standardized, and help students understand the connection between certificates and education from multiple perspectives, thereby achieving effective reform of the curriculum of the Environmental Engineering Technology major. Based on this, the article will elaborate on the concept and significance of the “1+X” certificate and analyze in detail the teaching system construction ideas of the environmental engineering technology major courses in higher vocational education under the background of the “1+X” certificate. Studying the shortcomings in the current development of environmental engineering technology education in higher vocational education in China and proposing improvement measures for the environmental engineering technology major courses in higher vocational education to address existing problems will provide certain references and assistance for the subsequent reform of environmental engineering teaching in higher vocational education in China.

A Comparative Study of Kautilya Arthashastra and Current Arthashastra

This study examines the parallels and discrepancies between modern economic governance ideas and Kautilya's Arthashastra, a classical Indian treatise on statecraft and economics. With a focus on administration, taxation, and governance, Kautilya's Arthashastra, which dates to the fourth century BCE, offers insights into prehistoric Indian economic and political ideas. In contrast, modern economic governance emphasizes government action, market mechanisms, and ethical issues while drawing from a variety of economic theories and practices. The comparative study explores a number of important aspects, such as the breadth and emphasis of each framework, the economic theories that are promoted, governance strategies, ethical issues, and the technology environment. The main topics of the two Arthashastras are the state's involvement in economic concerns and ethical governance; yet, throughout time, developments in technology, governance structures, and societal standards have caused them to diverge dramatically.

Research on Coal Mine Environmental Pollution Management and Ecological Restoration Technology

This paper analyses the current situation of environmental pollution in coal mines, its causes, and its impact on the ecological environment, and systematically researches the management of environmental pollution in coal mines and ecological restoration technology. The paper analyses the main categories of coal mine environmental pollution, including water pollution, air pollution, and solid waste pollution, and discusses the causes of these pollution and their destructive effects on the ecological environment. Immediately after that, the article elaborates on the treatment technologies of coal mine environmental pollution, including physical, chemical and biological treatment technologies for water pollution control, blocking, adsorption and covering technologies for air pollution control, and landfill, incineration and resource utilization strategies for solid waste disposal. This paper also discusses coal mine ecological restoration techniques, including species selection and allocation for vegetation restoration, vegetation restoration models, physical, chemical and biological methods for soil improvement, and engineering, vegetation and agricultural measures for soil and water conservation. Through the research of this paper, the researchers aim to provide scientific basis and technical support for the management of coal mine environmental pollution and ecological restoration and to promote the restoration of the ecological environment in mining areas and the sustainable development of the coal industry.

Development of an integrated device based on the gain/phase detector and Arduino platform for measuring magnetoelastic resonance

This study presents the development of an integrated device for measuring magnetoelastic resonance, utilizing a gain/phase detector and the Arduino platform. The device stands out for its simplicity, low cost, and efficiency. It employs the Arduino’s ATmega328P microcontroller, coupled with the AD8302, and an intuitive graphical interface developed in Python, which facilitates the measurement of magnetoelastic signals in sensors. The device’s validation is carried out through measurements of mass deposits on magnetoelastic sensors, confirming its accuracy and functionality. This advancement offers a practical and portable solution for detecting magnetoelastic resonances, promoting the use of these technologies in field environments and in diverse scientific applications. The integration of components into a compact, robust, and low-cost electronic circuit, along with an easy-to-operate graphical interface, significantly simplifies the complexity of the components, making the device complete and readily operational.

Multilevel perspective for the diffusion of e-democracy implementation: A systematic literature review

Information and communication technology has been identified as a viable means of addressing the societal issue of disconnection among e-democracy participants. Apart from the ongoing normative debate concerning the potential of information and communication technology to facilitate e-democratic processes, much research has been dedicated to examining the broad spectrum of specific e-democracy tools that have been multi-disciplinary and fragmented in recent years. Remarkably, however, the potential of technology diffusion and its impact on implementing e-democracy in cyberspace has not yet received adequate attention. The key issue for the sustainability of e-democracy is technology accessibility, which is also a central factor in technology diffusion. This systematic literature review seeks to structure and systematise the literature on the different phases of e-democracy implementation technology diffusion (adoption, implementation, and institutionalisation) and levels of analysis (macro, meso, and micro) with the aims of, firstly, mapping the current field of e-democracy technology diffusion research and, secondly, providing a unique study for use in future research. The analysis indicated that researchers have primarily focused on the adoption and implementation stages, as well as the external information and communication technology environment at the macro level and the organisational level at the meso level within public administrations. In general, this review highlights major gaps in the current literature and proposes viable avenues for further research.

Alkali surface modification of titanium for biomedical implants

AbstractNanostructures were successfully created on titanium (Ti) substrates through alkali treatment. By varying the concentration, temperature, and duration of the alkali treatment, different nanostructure surfaces were achieved on Ti. FE‐SEM analysis revealed a transition from a smooth to a nanoporous surface structure. The alkali treatment notably decreased the contact angle of Ti from 64° to 48°. Raman spectroscopy of Ti treated with 5 M NaOH at 80 °C for 24 h showed distinct titanate peaks at 188, 190, and 270 cm−1, confirming the formation of titanate compounds on the Ti surface. EIS measurements further demonstrated that the treated Ti exhibited reduced chemical activity, increased surface roughness, and porosity of approximately 40–50% compared to untreated Ti. In vitro biocompatibility tests using baby hamster kidney cells indicated positive cell attachment and proliferation after 72 h of culturing on the alkali‐treated Ti. These modifications enhance the surface properties and expand the potential applications of titanium in biomedical, industrial, and environmental technologies.

Tribotechnical processes of the soil environment interaction with the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines reinforced with composite materials

The work presents the study results of the stress-strain state of the soil, as a continuous medium filled with abrasive particles under the action of the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines. One of the main properties of the soil, which determines the specifics of the force interaction of the working surfaces of the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines with the technological environment, is taken into account, namely the tendency of the contact layer of the treated layer to compaction. The relationship between stress in the soil and the wear of the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines has been established experimentally. A theoretical analysis is presented for the stress-strain state of the local region of the strengthened surface layer that is used in the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines, in which the filler, inclusion or strengthening phase is placed. An analysis of the contact characteristics of the stress-strain state and their changes during friction and wear was carried out based on the formulation and solution of the contact interaction problems of abrasive soil particles with the inhomogeneities of the composite coatings components based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with fillers during strengthening of the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines. Computer modeling was performed to study the nature of stress distribution in the reinforced surface layer of the working bodies of soil tillage and earthmoving machines in the area of the contact zone in stationary and dynamic conditions. The contact problem is formulated, the boundary conditions and the solution in the form of components of the stress field are given. The characteristics of the filler, their content in the composite material and coating are taken into account, the relationship between the stress-strain state and wear is established.

Purification of Liquid Fraction of Digestates from Different Origins-Comparison of Polymeric and Ceramic Ultrafiltration Membranes Used for This Purpose.

Circular economy, clean technologies, and renewable energy are key to climate protection and modern environmental technology. Recovering water and valuable minerals from the liquid fraction of digestate is in line with this strategy. Digestate, a byproduct of anaerobic methane fermentation in biogas plants, is a potential source of water, minerals for fertilizers, and energy rather than waste. This study examined digestate from municipal and agricultural biogas plants and highlights the need for research on both due to their differences. The use of membrane techniques for water recovery from liquid digestate offers an innovative alternative to conventional methods. This study used standalone membrane filtration and an integrated system to produce water suitable for agricultural use. Ceramic membranes with cut-offs of 1, 5, 15, and 50 kDa and polymeric membranes of polyethersulfone and regenerated cellulose with cut-offs of 10 and 30 kDa were tested. The results showed that the membrane material significantly affects the transport and separation properties. Higher cut-off values increased permeate flux across all membranes. Ceramic membranes were more susceptible to fouling in standalone ultrafiltration, but were more effective in purifying digestate than polymeric membranes. The best results were obtained with a ceramic membrane with a 1 kDa cut-off (for example, for the integrated process and the municipal digestate, the retention rates of COD, BOD5 and DOC were 69%, 62%, and 75%, respectively).
