Evaluating the Performance and Practicality of a Multi-Parameter Assessment System with Design, Comparative Analysis, and Future Directions

This study introduces a developed environmental quality assessment system, detailing its hardware, software, and comparative analysis against a publicly available system. While showing larger deviations in particulate matter and air humidity parameters, the proposed system demonstrates sufficient accuracy in other environmental characteristics. It establishes a standardized operating procedure and evaluates uncertainty and quality assurance measures, ensuring reliability in environmental measurements. The system offers comprehensive capabilities, measuring parameters like total volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, temperature, humidity, particulate matter, noise, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, with real-time monitoring functions for detecting environmental changes. Its user-friendly interfaces, scalability, and potential integration with existing systems enhance its versatility and cost-effectiveness across diverse settings. This study underscores the need for future research to enhance accuracy, reliability, and real-time operability and explore integration with smart city initiatives and environmental management systems. Overall, the proposed system represents a promising advancement in environmental monitoring technology, facilitating comprehensive environmental quality assessment and management.

A study of particle dry deposition parameterizations in an atmospheric radioactive preparedness model. Application to the Chernobyl case.

Parameterization of dry deposition is key for modelling of atmospheric transport and deposition of radioactive particles. Still, very simple parameterizations are often encountered in radioactive preparedness models such as the SNAP model (SNAP=Severe Nuclear Accident Program) of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. In SNAP a constant dry deposition velocity (=0.2cm/s) neglecting aerodynamic and surface resistances, is presently used. Therefore, two new dry depositions schemes (the Emerson scheme and the EMEP (European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme) scheme) have been implemented in SNAP to evaluate the benefits of including aerodynamic and surface resistances codes with respect to model prediction skills. The three dry deposition schemes are evaluated using 137Cs total deposition from soil sample data (n=540) for a 60km radial zone out from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP) collected during the months after the accident. The present study capitalizes on high resolution meteorological data (2.5km horizontal resolution), a detailed land-use data set with 273 sub-classes and the hitherto most comprehensive source term description for the Chernobyl accident. Based on our findings it is recommended to replace the present simple SNAP scheme with the Emerson or EMEP dry deposition scheme. Environmental implicationNuclear risk assessment and emergency response systems rely heavily on the ability of atmospheric dispersion models to predict air concentrations and deposition of released radionuclides, providing a basis for dose estimations and countermeasure strategies. The deposition assessment during an emergency requires detailed knowledge and descriptions of the spatial and temporal dry deposition patterns. The present study evaluates different methods of dry deposition parameterizations of atmospheric transport models aiming at recommending new and improved dry deposition calculations in emergency preparedness models.

Research on constructing a safety assessment model for the “Environment-Psychology” space in urban villages based on CPTED theory

ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop an “environment-psychological” safety assessment model for urban villages. The objective was to create a comprehensive safety evaluation and identify key influencing factors. To start, establish a spatial environmental safety assessment system for urban villages, drawing on the six principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) theory. Use Analytic Hierarchy Process and Bayesian network analysis for determining weights and scores. The research findings reveal that: 1) The safety of the spatial environment in urban villages is directly induced by factors such as “natural surveillance” and “image maintenance” while being indirectly impacted by factors like “territoriality” and “access control.” Notably, the effects of activity support and target hardening on spatial environmental safety are found to be insubstantial. 2) Z urban village in Xuzhou city has a level IV spatial environmental safety rating. Factors include line-of-sight transparency, environmental hygiene, and road layout. The proposed optimization measures include improving space layout, enhancing surveillance levels, and maintaining a favorable environment for crime prevention. This study aids decision-makers in establishing priority sequences for spatial planning during urban village renewal. The “Environment-Psychology” model enhances the explanatory power of environmental factors on psychological elements and can aid in spatial optimization strategies.

The CoO-doped carbon nanotubes enhance electronic performance and effectively activate persulfate for the degradation of sulfafurazole

In recent studies, carbon nanotube (CNTs) materials and their composites have demonstrated remarkable catalytic activity in the activation of persulfate (PS), facilitating the efficient degradation of organic pollutants. In this study, a novel Co loaded carbon nanotubes (CoO@CNT) catalyst was prepared to promote PDS activation for the degradation of sulfafurazole (SIZ). Experimental results, the CNT as a carrier effectively reduces the leaching of cobalt ions and improves the electron transport capacity，whereas the introduced Co effectively activates the PDS, promoting the generation of highly reactive radicals to degrade SIZ. Under optimized conditions (a catalyst dose of 0.2 g/L, a PDS dose of 1 g/L and an initial pH = 9.0), the obtained CoO@CNT demonstrated favorable Fenton-like performance, reaching a degradation efficiency of 95.55% within 30 min. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrate that the introduction of cobalt (Co) accelerates electron transfer, promoting the decomposition of PDS while facilitating the Co2+/Co3+ redox cycling. We further employed the environmental chemistry and risk assessment system (ECOSAR) to evaluate the ecological toxicity of intermediate products, revealing a significant reduction in ecological toxicity associated with this degradation process, thereby confirming its environmental harmlessness. Through batch experiments and studies, we gained a comprehensive understanding of the mechanism and influencing factors of CoO@CNT in the role of SIZ degradation, and provided robust support for evaluating the ecological toxicity of degradation products. This study provides a significant strategy for the development of efficient catalysts incorporating Co for the environmentally friendly degradation of organic pollutants.

An open science automatic workflow for multi-model species distribution estimation

AbstractIntegrated Environmental Assessment systems and ecosystem models study the links between anthropogenic and climatic pressures on marine ecosystems and help understand how to manage the effects of the unsustainable exploitation of ocean resources. However, these models have long implementation times, data and model interoperability issues and require heterogeneous competencies. Therefore, they would benefit from simplification, automatisation, and enhanced integrability of the underlying models. Artificial Intelligence can help overcome several limitations by speeding up the modelling of crucial functional parts, e.g. estimating the environmental conditions fostering a species’ persistence and proliferation in an area (the species’ ecological niche) and, consequently, its geographical distribution. This paper presents a full-automatic workflow to estimate species’ distributions through statistical and machine learning models. It embeds four ecological niche models with complementary approaches, i.e. Artificial Neural Networks, Maximum Entropy, Support Vector Machines, and AquaMaps. It automatically estimates the optimal model parametrisations and decision thresholds to distinguish between suitable- and unsuitable-habitat locations and combines the models within one ensemble model. Finally, it combines several ensemble models to produce a species richness map (biodiversity index). The software is open-source, Open Science compliant, and available as a Web Processing Service-standardised cloud computing service that enhances efficiency, integrability, cross-domain reusability, and experimental reproduction and repetition. We first assess workflow stability and sensitivity and then demonstrate effectiveness by producing a biodiversity index for the Mediterranean based on $$\sim $$ ∼ 1500 species data. Moreover, we predict the spread of the invasive Siganus rivulatus in the Mediterranean and its current and future overlap with the native Sarpa salpa under different climate change scenarios.

Do environmental target constraints promote corporate pollution reduction?

In order to improve the environment quality, in 2007 the Chinese government implemented a policy document on environmental target constraints called the ‘Letter of Responsibility’. Based on this impact, we collect the environmental target constraints (ETC) data of 276 cities in China, and use the Differences-in-Differences (DID) method to evaluate the impact of local government ETC on enterprise pollution. The results show that ETC can significantly curb the pollution emission level of enterprises. This effect varies significantly between enterprises of different regions, scales, ownerships, and total factor productivities (TFPs). ETC can promote enterprise emission reduction by inducing green innovation, improving corporate tax burden and financing constraints, and promoting enterprise exit. Economic growth target constraints will weaken the inhibitory effect of ETC on corporate pollution. This paper provides important empirical evidence for deepening China’s official environmental assessment system and environmental governance.

Life cycle assessment of secondary use and physical recycling of lithium-ion batteries retired from electric vehicles in China

With the rapid development of the global new energy vehicle industry, how to minimize the environmental impact of the recovery has become a common concern and urgent concern. China is a major production and consumption market for electric vehicles, there are no specific and extensive resource and environmental assessment system for batteries. In this paper, the retired Electric vehicles lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) was the research object, and a specific analysis of the recycling treatment and gradual use stages of power batteries were based on life cycle assessment. Different battery assessment scenarios were established according to the development of battery recycling in China. The results showed that the secondary use has the optimal performance compared to the full-component physical, pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgy recycling. The results showed that direct recycling has a GWP of 0.037 kg-CO2 eq·kg LIB-1, which is lower than others. Secondary use of LIB accounts for the most emission reductions with Global warming (GWP) as 12.134 kg-CO2 eq·kg LIB-1. The secondary use has the greatest impact on the assessment results, especially in dynamic scenarios. Through a comprehensive comparison of different recycling technologies, the secondary use, increasing the recycling rate, reducing resource, energy consumption and pollution emissions.

Optimization strategy of community planning for environmental health and public health in smart city under multi-objectives.

As population density increases, environmental hygiene and public health become increasingly severe. As the space where residents stay for the longest time and have the most profound impact on their physical and mental health, the quality of the environment in urban communities largely determines the degree to which residents engage in physical activity, bear the risk of pollution exposure, and obtain healthy food. Therefore, in order to ensure the physical and mental health of residents, this study proposes community planning guided by environmental hygiene and public health, and establishes an environmental health assessment system for this purpose. This system evaluates the community environment from four aspects: land use, service facilities, site convenience, and environmental quality. Established the diversity, density, road network connectivity and facilities accessibility nine criteria, as well as the land function of mix, plot ratio, food environment, network ring and connected index, pavement risk level, green configuration and neighborhood material environment disorder degree of 27 indicators of community built environmental evaluation index system. The data is collected through field survey, questionnaire distribution, resident interview and data mapping, and the established evaluation index system is used to evaluate the construction environment of the community. The experimental research data included population data, CAD plan, land use data, street data, POI point data, building data and bus station data, etc. 273 questionnaires were distributed, 264 were recovered, 8 invalid questionnaires were removed, and 256 valid questionnaires were obtained. These experiments confirm that land use, service facilities, site convenience, and environmental quality have a significant impact on the built environment of communities, with impact weights of 0.513, 0.227, 0.135, and 0.125, respectively. The above weights are calculated based on the index judgment matrix and the eigenvectors. The scores of land use, service facilities, site convenience, and environmental quality for the study subjects were 3.44, 1.46, 0.94, and 0.51, respectively, among them, the land use score is less than 3.85, the 1 service facility score is less than 1.71, the site convenience score is less than 1.01, and the environmental quality score is less than 0.94; indicating that the community has serious problems such as single land use types, pollution exposure, and difficulty in obtaining healthy food. Therefore, community planning and transformation based on land use, service facilities, venue convenience, and environmental quality can effectively improve the physical and mental health of residents. In the specific community transformation plan, artificial intelligence and data-driven methods can be used to optimize the land use plan, service facility configuration, site convenience transformation and environmental quality improvement, so as to formulate the optimal community transformation plan and improve the comfort and happiness of community residents. In the future, on the basis of the existing research, the selection of community types will be further enriched and the research cases will be expanded. And through the in-depth practical study of the case, the constructed evaluation index system is optimized and improved to make it more scientific. At the same time, as urban renewal and design have entered the era of stock planning, based on the more perfect evaluation index system, more specific and detailed system discussion of the built communities with public health problems, in order to provide more detailed services for the construction of a better and healthy living environment in the future.

A System for Individual Environmental Risk Assessment and Management with IoT Based on the Worker’s Health History

This paper presents a monitoring system to measure dust, noise, ultraviolet radiation, illuminance, temperature, and humidity and to check the presence of flammable gases—liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), propane, hydrogen, butane, methane, and carbon monoxide. The system is composed of monitoring devices, a server to process data received from the devices and that runs a web application for employers, and a mobile application for workers to check their exposure data. During employee registration, the health history of the worker concerning common diseases and symptoms related to the monitored agents must be informed. This information is analyzed through a set of predefined rules to generate alerts that the company can consider for planning professional activities to minimize exposure to risk agents. The tests presented in this work are focused on verifying the functionalities of the web interface for employee registration, especially regarding the provision of health information, the updating of this information, and the generation of corresponding alerts. At this stage, fictitious employee information was used. The results showed that the system adequately performs the proposed functionalities, and it was concluded that the solution is viable for testing in a work environment in the future stages of development. The innovative features of this study concern the correlation between workers’ health history and harmful agents to build suggestions and alerts to guide long-term OSH-related decisions.

A new assessment method for water environment safety and its application

The Three Gorges Reservoir area is recognized by its vast size, dense population, bustling economic and social activities along its banks, and by the significant volume of waterway traffic. These factors make it with a high risk of water pollution accidents, posing a serious threat to water environmental safety. Therefore, it is imperative to conduct a water environmental safety assessment in this region to ensure the safety of the water environment. In the present work, the Driving-Pressure-State-Impact-Response-Risk Water Environmental Safety model was proposed, and a comprehensive water environmental safety assessment system was established. The Water Environment Safety Index was introduced to measure the degree of water environment safety. This model synthesized multiple factors and their interrelationships, enabling a more accurate assessment of water environment safety. By adopting scientifically rigorous evaluation criteria, this assessment method enhanced the reliability and credibility of the results obtained. The water environment safety in the 22 counties and districts of the Three Gorges Reservoir area of Chongqing region from 2017 to 2021 was assessed in terms of temporal changes and spatial differentiation. In general, the overall water environment safety situation in the Three Gorges Reservoir area of Chongqing region is relatively safe, but a few counties/districts (such as Wanzhou District, Jiangjin District, etc.) are still in Warning. Spatially, the water environmental safety condition was relatively better in the northeast compared to the southwest. The main factors threatening water environment safety include: 1) the consequence of the Three Gorges Project, 2) severe soil erosion, 3) industrial, agricultural, and domestic pollution, and 4) frequent water pollution accidents. The present work provided a new method for conducting water environment safety assessments, which is expected to positively contribute to further research in this field.

Satisfaction and readiness for professional activity of students of the Institute of Osteopathy (Saint-Petersburg): a study using the DREEM questionnaire

Introduction. The educational program is an important factor of the training quality of a future specialist in the modern system of medical personnel training. The most important indicator of the educational program quality is the educational environment that influences the formation of competencies and the students′ success. Measurements of the educational environment with the help of developed and validated tools make it possible to change it in many ways, which will eventually improve the quality of medical education. To date, the rapid educational environment assessment system developed at the University of Dundee (Dundee Ready Education Environment Measure, DREEM questionnaire) is considered as a valid and reliable tool that is universally accepted for measuring the medical educational environment, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the educational environment according to the educational program under study and determining the direction of improving the educational environment. The aim of the study is to evaluate the perception of the educational environment by students of the Institute of Osteopathy (Saint-Petersburg) using the DREEM questionnaire. Materials and methods. The study involved 80 students of the Institute of Osteopathy (Saint-Petersburg), studying in residency or professional retraining programs. Participants were surveyed using the DREEM questionnaire, consisting of 50 closed-ended statements, which are grouped into 5 subcategories. I. Students′ perception of the learning process (12 statements). II. Students′ perception of the role of lecturers in the educational process (11 statements). III. Students′ perceptions of their own academic performance (8 statements). IV. Students′ perceptions of the educational atmosphere (12 statements). V. Social self-perception and interaction with the environment (7 statements). Each of the 50 statements is rated on a 5-point scale: «Strongly agree» (4), «Agree» (3), «Not sure» (2), «Disagree» (1) and «Strongly disagree» (0). Satisfaction analysis was also carried out for individual statements. Results. The analysis of information obtained using the DREEM questionnaire showed that the educational environment created at the Institute of Osteopathy (Saint-Petersburg) was rated by students as ideal — 165,2 points; doctors studying in the residency educational program rate the educational environment statistically significantly (p < 0,05) higher than those studying in the professional retraining program. Among the students studying in a residency program, the indicators of confidence in their readiness for professional activity are at a fairly high level — 3,5–3,7 points, while among the students studying in a professional training program, the indicators of confidence in their readiness for professional activity are at the level of 2–3,3 points. There are some indicators of the educational environment that require improvement. Conclusion. A detailed study of the level of the educational environment perception among students of the Institute of Osteopathy (Saint-Petersburg), studying in various educational programs, made it possible to identify the most problematic areas in the educational process implemented at the Institute, which makes it possible to develop proposals for improving the current educational environment. The issues of organizing social support for students and building confidence in their preparedness for practical activities deserve the greatest attention. It is also recommended to regularly conduct a study of the educational environment satisfaction among students of the Institute of Osteopathy to assess the dynamics of the indicators.

Fuzzy inference system for environmental vulnerability assessment of protected areas: a case study of the Itupararanga environmental protection area in southeastern Brazil

ABSTRACT In this paper, we present an environmental vulnerability index (EVI) based on the fuzzy inference system. The factors used for the formulation of the EVI were forest factor (FF), hydrological factor (HF) and environmental factor (EF), and used the Itupararanga environmental protection area (EPA) as a case study. The results showed that for the years studied (2012 and 2019), most forest fragments were classified as having a very low FF. Almost half of the water bodies presented a very low HF in 2012, which was also the case in 2019. Most areas of the EPA were classified as having a medium EF in 2012, while in 2019 they were classified as low. From these indices, in the two years, it was observed that most areas were classified with a very low EVI. Despite the very low EVI, it was observed that fragments with areas smaller than 50 hectares were suppressed. Therefore, it is necessary to encourage the creation of public policies aimed at the conservation of areas subject to anthropogenic pressure and restoration of forests in suppressed areas.

Impacts of Thermal Drainage on Bacterial Diversity and Community Construction in Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant.

As one of the low-carbon and high-efficient energy sources, nuclear power is developing vigorously to alleviate the crisis of global climate warming and realize carbon neutrality goals. Meanwhile, the ecological effect of thermal drainage in the nuclear power plant is significantly remarkable, which environmental assessment system has not yet referred to microorganisms. The rapid response of microbial diversity and community structure to environmental changes is crucial for ecosystem stability. This study investigated the bacterial diversity, community construction, and the co-occurrence patterns by 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing among gradient warming regions in Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant. The alpha diversity of the high warming region was the lowest in summer, which was dominated by Proteobacteria, whereas the highest bacterial diversity presented in high warming regions in winter, which harbored higher proportions of Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes. The spatial distribution of bacterial communities showed clear separation especially in summer. Strong correlations were between community compositions and environmental factors, such as salinity, DO, TN, and temperature in summer. Furthermore, remarkable seasonality in bacterial co-occurrence patterns was discovered: the robustness of the bacterial co-occurrence network was promoted in winter, while the complexity and robustness were decreased in summer due to the warming of thermal drainage. These findings reveal the potential factors underpinning the influence of thermal drainage on bacterial community structure, which make it possible to predict the ecological effect of the nuclear power plants by exploring how the microbial assembly is likely to respond to the temperature and other environmental changes.

Multidimensional performance assessment, government competition and ecological welfare performance.

Improving the efficiency of converting natural resources into social benefits is an important issue for sustainable development in today's world. Based on this background this paper applies the super-efficient SBM model with non-expected output to measure the ecological welfare performance (EWP) of Chinese provinces from 2005-2019, and explores the relationship between government competition and EWP under different assessment systems. The research results show that government competition under economic performance assessment is self-interested and short-sighted, which can negatively affect ecological welfare performance in the current period as well as in the next four years. In contrast, government competition under the environmental assessment system promotes EWP in both the current and long term, balancing short-term and long-term benefits. The results of the spatial GMM found that government competition under economic performance appraisal can deteriorate EWP in local as well as surrounding areas, but government competition under the environmental assessment system can achieve an increase in local ecological welfare performance and the spillover effect is not significant. To alleviate the limitations of a single appraisal system, this paper incorporates both economic and ecological appraisals into the multidimensional appraisal system. When the weights of both are between 1:9 and 3:7, the government competition under multidimensional performance appraisal can promote both current and longer-term EWP, and achieve its own ecological welfare performance without affecting the surrounding areas.

Uncovering the relationship among spatial vitality, perception, and environment of urban underground space in the metro zone

With the rapid development of rail transit, effectively developing urban underground space (UUS) in the metro zone has become an important approach to expanding urban space. However, UUS is currently facing problems, such as an uneven distribution or even loss of vitality, which restricts the utilization efficiency of the space. Thus, we established a UUS environmental assessment system based on the “comfort-aesthetic-function-traffic-structure” using space syntax, instrumental measurement, and questionnaire surveys. By constructing a partial-least-square structural equation model, the internal relationships between the UUS environment and corresponding space vitality and space perception under different study areas, namely the underground transportation-oriented space (transportation space for short) and the underground commercial-oriented space (commercial space for short), were studied in detail throughout the working day. Results indicate the following: (1) the UUS in the metro zone environment influences spatial vitality. The vitality distribution of transportation space is significantly affected by the spatial traffic and structure. The vitality distribution of commercial space is significantly affected by the spatial function and traffic. (2) The environment of UUSs in the metro zone influences users's perception. The perception of transportation space is significantly affected by aesthetics and comfort. The perception of commercial space is significantly affected by aesthetic, comfort, and spatial functions. (3) The user's perception affects vitality, and the effect is more significant in commercial space. This study provides an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the complex environment and its spatial vitality as well as the spatial perception of the UUS in metro zones. Our research results provide a novel approach and theoretical basis for the development and application of UUS vitality in various cities.

Feasibility, economic and carbon reduction benefits of ride-hailing vehicle electrification by coupling travel trajectory and charging infrastructure data

Ride-hailing has become a common travel choice in global megacities. However, ride-hailing fleets are facing severe challenges toward electrification owing to high travel intensity, high price sensitivity, inconvenience related to charging, and range anxiety. This study established a comprehensive feasibility–economic–environment assessment system to explore the applicability, life-cycle economic as well as carbon reduction benefits of ride-hailing electrification. For full-time ride-hailing vehicle drivers who face the greatest electrification challenges, it is found that charging station service radius of 1 km, average charging power of 37.5 kW, and state of charge of 30–70% as charging threshold are optimal for balancing the charging feasibility and driving experience. Ride-hailing electrification for full-time drivers can achieve synergetic economic and environmental benefits by saving 14000–24500 $ and reducing 47–66 t of CO2 emissions in a whole lifetime. This research suggests that developing a smart order dispatch system for ride-hailing to guide more efficient charging activities would help relieve range anxiety and further promote ride-hailing electrification.

Secondary data-associated challenges for environmental assessment in developing countries; case of Egypt

Assessing environmental major development projects requires using advancedlevels of environmental secondary data (ESD). This is particularly challenging indeveloping countries. Hence, a systemic literature review was performed. Alongwith structured interviews and online questionnaire designed for professionalplanners and researchers were used to investigate the factors affecting secondarydata collection and processing for environmental assessment systems in Egypt asan example of developing countries revealing potentials and challenges. Theresults pinpointed critical problems for ESD associated with poor sufficiency,availability, relevance, and accuracy of data. Thus, using these four defined criteria,an assessment framework was developed to evaluate the status of ESD fordevelopment projects. This provides guidelines for establishing an integrated datacollection and management system to support the environmental assessmentprocess. This is further applied to ‘Elqattara depression national developmentproject’ to investigate the environmental impact of various desalinationdevelopment scenarios. This case study project pinpointed problems for the ESDused related to both relevance and sufficiency.

Application of data mining combined with power data in assessment and prevention of regional atmospheric pollution

The continuous development of society has destroyed the living environment of human beings to a large extent. The problem of air pollution is becoming more and more serious, which affects people’s daily life and threatens human health and the natural environment. It is very important to evaluate and prevent air pollution. The existing atmospheric environmental pollution assessment system has problems such as low accuracy of prediction results and incomplete analysis of problems, resulting in untimely prevention and control of regional atmospheric environmental pollution. This paper analyzes the needs of atmospheric environment data mining, monitoring the prevention and control of atmospheric environment pollution, using data mining technology combined with power data to evaluate and prevent air pollution. Through the real-time detection and evaluation of the regional environmental pollution index, it is possible to carry out timely treatment when the atmospheric environmental pollution does not meet the standard. Through the prediction accuracy test, the environmental pollution index test, the atmospheric environment quality score test and the prevention and control effect test in different regions, it is found that the data mining technology is used for prevention and control. The prediction accuracy increased by 4.18%, and the environmental pollution index decreased. It is more conducive to the control of regional atmospheric pollution, the rate of atmospheric environmental quality score has been increased by 2.38%, and the control effect has been optimized by 3.1%. Data mining technology is more conducive to the assessment and prevention of regional air pollution.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF THE ROAD TRANSPORT IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

Environmental impact assessment of road transport is a serious problem that needs an immediate solution. Intensive development of road transport is associated with an increase in anthropogenic load on the environment in the form of exhaust gases containing more than 200 pollutants, waste generation, pollution of water bodies and soils. This problem concerns not only the environmental assessment of the state of cities and settlements, but also the assessment of the state of intercity roads, roads passing through natural areas and protected areas. This problem is especially acute in industrially saturated centers and large cities of Ukraine. In this regard, the issues of improving methods for assessing the impact of vehicles on the environment are being actualized in order to find reserves for reducing the ecological and economic damage to the biosphere. Environmental impact assessments carried out in accordance with state legislation are components of the environmental assessment system. The paper shows that when assessing the environmental impact of road transport, the full life cycle of a motor vehicle should be taken into account. Therefore, the work conducted a study of the life cycle of a car from mining to utilization of a motor vehicle and assessed its impact on the environment. Evaluation of production processes and products for the full life cycle of a car is very difficult, as it is associated with the collection of information about many production processes taking place, including outside the enterprise. It should be noted that the information obtained when assessing a vehicle for the full life cycle allows us to invent ways to improve the design of the car and technological processes of its production, as well as reduce the negative impact on the environment. Therefore, the work identified the main parameters and factors influencing the environment of road transport. Possible mathematical models of the impact of road transport on the environment, in particular on the hydrosphere, are considered.
