Today, issues of environmental well-being of the population are becoming more relevant. Environmental protection is a scientifically significant problem. The study of environmental development issues is of theoretical and practical importance, since ecology is associated with many areas of human life. We do not pretend to an extensive analysis of the presented research topic and will consider the main factors influencing the state of ecology in the republic. In this regard, the purpose of the study is to consider the main environmental problems of Bashkiria that have arisen as a result of the actions of industrial enterprises and measures to protect it. Chronological framework of the study: the 1980s. To solve the presented goal, the following tasks were set: analysis of the sanitary condition of air and water basins in Bashkiria and actions to eliminate the consequences of the release of industrial waste into the atmosphere, the aquatic environment, assessment of the degree of environmental impact on the quality of human life and its consequences. The published - periodical press (newspaper "Soviet Bashkiria") and unpublished (archival documents) sources were used in the work. Methods of analysis and historicism were used to solve the tasks set. The results of the study allow us to conclude about the deterioration of the environmental situation in the republic during the period under review. Despite the attention of the republic's leadership to environmental problems: the introduction of wastewater treatment processes, air, etc., it was not possible to significantly solve the issues of environmental well-being of the population. There was an increase in the number of diseases, including children's. Against the background of the ongoing transformations in society, the number of public associations grew, the first of which was the movement for ecology. Nevertheless, it would be wrong to unambiguously assess the current situation, a lot of attention was paid to nature protection, it was possible to solve the issues of reducing harmful emissions, but the environmental background continued to cause concern.
