Pengaruh Motivasi dan Literasi Kewirausahaan Terhadap Minat Berwirausaha Pada Mahasiswa Peserta PMW Untag Surabaya

This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of Motivation (X1) and Entrepreneurial Literacy (X2) on Entrepreneurial Interest (Y) in Students Participating in PMW Untag Surabaya. With the large number of unemployment problems, the Entrepreneurial Student Program is needed to improve entrepreneurial skills among students, so that it is hoped that it can encourage students to start and develop their businesses. This research has the title "The Influence of Entrepreneurial Motivation and Literacy on Entrepreneurial Interest in Students Participating in PMW Untag Surabaya" using a quantitative approach. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 65 students participating in PMW Untag Surabaya. The sampling technique used is a saturated sampling technique which is included in the type of non-probability sampling. The research results show that the Motivation variable and the Entrepreneurial Literacy variable have a simultaneous influence on Entrepreneurial Interest. However, partially the Motivation variable has no influence on the Entrepreneurial Interest variable, this is because some students who participate in PMW are not motivated for the reason that some students take part in PMW only to get conversion grades in several courses. Therefore, it is recommended that universities pay more attention to programs that can increase entrepreneurial motivation and literacy towards entrepreneurial interests, such as holding regular training, provisioning or socialization activities related to entrepreneurship.

Sosialisasi Penguatan Ekonomi Masyarakat Melalui Pendidikan Kewirausahaan di Desa Firdaus

The ratio of entrepreneurs in Firdaus village, Sei Rampah District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, is considered very low. This low ratio is attributed to the community's low interest in entrepreneurship. Most of the community believes that entrepreneurship requires a large amount of capital. Additionally, there are risks that may occur, such as losses and uncertainty regarding income. Therefore, a community service activity in the form of socialization was conducted for the people of Firdaus village. This socialization activity aimed to provide entrepreneurship education to the community in Firdaus village, thus fostering interest in entrepreneurship. The socialization activity was attended by 22 participants. The methods used in this community service activity were lectures and interactive discussions. The stages of the community service activities included the preparation stage and the implementation stage. This activity had a positive impact on increasing the knowledge of the participants regarding the entrepreneurial skills that an entrepreneur must master, as well as the importance of marketing strategies and the use of technology in the success of a business. Several participants expressed interest in entrepreneurship after participating in the community service activity. This indicates that the community service activity has made a positive contribution to the people of Firdaus village.

IMPACT OF ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCE ON VENTURE PERFORMANCE: THE MODERATING ROLE OF ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION

This study investigates the impact of entrepreneurial competence on venture performance, with a particular focus on the moderating role of entrepreneurial education. Despite extensive research on factors influencing venture success, the interplay between entrepreneurial skills and education remains underexplored. This empirical study aims to fill this gap by examining how entrepreneurial education enhances the relationship between entrepreneurial competence and venture performance. Using a quantitative research design, data was collected from 212 entrepreneurs across various MSMEs industries across J&K UT. Entrepreneurial competence was measured using a comprehensive set of indicators, including innovation, risk-taking, and strategic planning abilities. Venture performance was assessed through financial metrics, market share, and growth rates. Entrepreneurial education was evaluated based on the depth and breadth of formal and informal educational experiences related to entrepreneurship. The findings of the research opened a significant positive relationship between entrepreneurial competence and venture performance (p < 0.01). Further, the analysis demonstrates that entrepreneurial education significantly moderates this relationship, amplifying the positive effects of entrepreneurial competence on venture performance (p < 0.05). Entrepreneurs with higher levels of education exhibited superior venture performance compared to those with lower levels of education, highlighting the critical role of entrepreneurial education in fostering successful ventures. These results underscore the importance of integrating entrepreneurial education into training programs to enhance the competencies of aspiring entrepreneurs. By doing so, educators and policymakers can better support the development of ventures, ultimately contributing to economic growth and innovation. This study given valuable insights for educational people, policymakers, and practitioners to promote entrepreneurial success through targeted educational interventions.

The Socioscientific Issues Approach (SIA) engages students to study and connect science, daily life and society in the community. While Design Thinking (DT) encourages students to understand the needs of the local community regarding real-life problems, and then apply the knowledge to generate ideas for solutions. The integration of PIS and PRB in STEM teaching and learning is rarely documented in the literature. Thus, this research aimed to examine the effects of integrating SIA an DT approaches in STEM education on entrepreneurial creative thinking among rural secondary school students. A comprehensive instructional module was meticulously designed to facilitate teachers in implementing the SIA-DT framework, aimed at augmenting entrepreneurial creative thinking skills among Form Four students. A quasi-experimental quantitative study was conducted on 267 Form Four students enrolled in rural secondary schools in Tawau, Sabah. These students were randomly assigned to three groups: i) Socioscientific Issue and Design Thinking Integration (SSA-DT, n=89), ii) Design Thinking Approach (DT, n=90), and iii) Traditional Approach (TRD, n=88). The Entrepreneurial Creative Thinking Test (ECTT) instrument was developed and applied to measure pre- and post-intervention levels of entrepreneurial creative thinking. Rigorous statistical analyses employing MANCOVA, ANCOVA, and Effect Size techniques were conducted. MANCOVA results revealed statistically significant effects across all instructional groups, indicating the effects of the interventions in fostering entrepreneurial creative thinking. Furthermore, ANCOVA analysis results indicated that the SSA-DT method significantly fosters entrepreneurial creative thinking, investigation constructs, new ideas, design, creation, and commercialization compared to the DT and TRD methods. These findings support the view that the SSA-DT module has a positive impact on cultivating entrepreneurial creative thinking among students.

Exploring the Implementation of Entrepreneurial Values to the Young Farmers in West Java

Objectives: The objective of this research is to study and explore the implementation of entrepreneurial values among young farmers in West Java and its relationship with empowerment programs, capital structure, self-reliance, and innovation in agriculture. Methodology: A sample of 103 young farmers from various districts in West Java participated in the study. Quantitative analysis, including descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and path analysis using Smart PLS, was conducted to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial values, self-reliance in agriculture, and innovation in agriculture. Finding: The findings show that young farmers in West Java exhibit moderate levels of entrepreneurial values, with particular emphasis on initiative and creativity. In addition, the analysis shows a positive correlation between entrepreneurial values and empowerment programs, capital structure, self-reliance in agriculture, and innovation in agriculture. The analysis further confirmed that entrepreneurial values are significantly predicted by empowerment programs, capital structure, innovation, and self-reliance in agriculture among young farmers. This study also shows that self-reliance could directly predict entrepreneurial values without capital structure as an intervening variable. These findings highlight the importance of fostering entrepreneurial values among young farmers through empowerment program intervention, providing access to capital structure, promoting agricultural innovation, and encouraging their self-reliance. Policymakers and stakeholders in agriculture should focus on providing training programs and support mechanisms that can foster an entrepreneurial mindset and skills among young farmers in West Java.Conclusion: The need to promote entrepreneurial values among young West Java farmers by boosting empowerment programs, self-reliance, and agricultural innovation with the support of capital structure access. The agricultural sector may become more robust, flexible, and sustainable, boosting regional growth and wealth. Further research should examine how entrepreneurial ideals affect self-reliance and creativity in agriculture and how young farmers might adopt them.

Social entrepreneurship as alternative form of employment in rural areas

For rural labor market, it should be noted the specific nature of the demand and supply of labor, imbalance between them, low level of professional training, lack of high degree of readiness for innovation, and lack of labor resources. In this regard, we can consider an alternative form of social entrepreneurship that increases employment of the rural population. The goal is to show the most important aspects of development of corporate social responsibility as the best option for improving the quality of life of the population in rural areas through access to education, healthcare and cultural leisure opportunities, disseminating the entrepreneurial skills of rural residents, increasing their self-esteem and self-sufficiency. Social entrepreneurs use local resources and create new markets for agricultural products, handicrafts, and tourism services. Methods – statistical and economic, scientific analysis, comparison. The study is based on the analysis of information obtained from domestic and foreign scientific publications, statistical data from the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Strategic Planning and Reforms. Results - the author presents indicators of demographic trends and the impact of the state of labor potential on employment in the country and in rural areas over the past 5 years, including the current state of employment and unemployment in rural areas and expanding the range of social and entrepreneurial activities based on entrepreneurial activity aimed at solving social problems. Social entrepreneurship is distinguished by the following main features: innovation, self-sufficiency and financial sustainability, entrepreneurial approach. Conclusions - the author has given proposals that increase social and economic security, employment opportunities in rural regions, stimulating the investment initiative of business entities.

Mengembangkan Jiwa Kepemimpinan dalam Berwirausaha di Era Globalisasi

In the ever-evolving era of globalization, leadership skills in entrepreneurship have become increasingly crucial for business practitioners. This article aims to develop and strengthen leadership qualities within the entrepreneurial context through a community service program. This program is designed to provide training and guidance to local entrepreneurs, specifically students at SMK Kartika XX-1 Makassar, with a focus on developing leadership skills, business management, and adaptation to global changes. The methods employed in this program include workshops, mentoring, and realistic business simulations. The results of the program indicate a significant improvement in the leadership abilities and business performance of the participants. Furthermore, the program helps entrepreneurs become better prepared to face challenges and seize opportunities in the global market. These findings demonstrate that with the right approach, leadership qualities can be effectively developed within the entrepreneurial community, thereby contributing to sustainable local economic growth.

Vocational High School (SMK) or vocational education is a balanced combination of theory and practice with an orientation towards the work readiness of its graduates. Vocational school graduates can not only work in certain fields, but can also go on to higher education and entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurial skills are creative and innovative abilities in developing a business so that it is different from others. Not just bouquet business. The implementation method for this activity different, but also analyzing market potential to gain profits. A business or business skill that is possible and is often used as a souvenir for other people is the flower bouquet or snack is the demonstration and duplication method which focuses on female students in classes X and XI, SMK Negeri 2 Singaraja. This vocational high school competency development activity was held on June 8 2023, in the Hall of SMK Negeri 2 Singaraja which is located at Jl. Srikandi, No.9, Babakan, Baktiseraga, Buleleng. This activity was attended by students of SMK Negeri 2 Singaraja classes X and XI, a total of 15 participants. The objectives of this vocational high school student competency development activity are focused on, 1) Fostering creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through a series of snack bouquets. 2) Provide knowledge and skills and be able to see business opportunities.

Breaking barriers and empowering marginal women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh for sustainable economic growth: a narrative inquiry

PurposeThe bread and butter of marginal communities primarily rely on their artisanal work, to which the communities’ women have notable contributions despite facing numerous challenges. This study aims to unveil the challenges along with latent opportunities of different marginal women entrepreneurs in the rural areas of Bangladesh.Design/methodology/approachThis study used narrative inquiry to explore the real-life business phenomena of 15 marginal women entrepreneurs with more than 5 years of business experience living in 4 districts of Bangladesh. This approach was used to document participants’ responses through the storytelling of their daily business experiences.FindingsThe findings of this paper indicate that vulnerable living conditions, social negligence, availability of substitutes, frequent sickness, increasing price of raw materials, lack of entrepreneurial skills and lack of managerial skills are the major challenges of marginal women entrepreneurs. In contrast, minimum capital requirement, home-based business, traditional profession, retaining cultural heritage and lack of accountability are the main opportunities that motivate marginal women to continue their entrepreneurial activities.Research limitations/implicationsThe insight of this research can promote and sustain marginal women entrepreneurship and aid researchers, policymakers and businesses in improving the various entrepreneurial aspects of informal community entrepreneurs in developing countries. However, the study was limited to five marginal community entrepreneurs (Rishi, Kumor, Jele, Cobbler and Kamar) in Bangladesh. Therefore, conducting future research encompassing all marginalized communities is recommended, and empirical studies on this domain are highly encouraged.Social implicationsThe insight of this research can promote and sustain marginal women entrepreneurship and aid researchers, policymakers and businesses in improving the various entrepreneurial aspects of informal community entrepreneurs in developing countries.Originality/valueIn the authors’ knowledge, this is unique research on marginal women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh.

Enhancing Longevity Among Pensioners: Investigating Determinants in Ilala Municipal Council, Tanzania

Introduction Tanzania's population is aging rapidly, with a significant increase in the number of pensioners. This study investigates the determinants of pensioners' longevity in Tanzania, highlighting its critical importance in post-retirement life. The findings might be used to develop targeted interventions to promote healthy aging practices and improve pensioners' well-being in Ilala and beyond. Methods The study focused on retired individuals in Ilala, Dar es Salaam, employing a cross-sectional approach and enrolling 65 participants. Data collection was carried out through questionnaire interviews, and the resulting dataset underwent quantitative analysis utilizing descriptive statistics and inferential techniques, including OLS regression using SPSS and STATA. Results The research findings indicate that consistent monthly pension contributions, regular health check-ups, adequate financial support for children, and strategic investments in bonds and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) significantly influence an individual's longevity. Entrepreneurship skills, whether developed before or after retirement, have been identified as having a positive impact on longevity. Conclusion The study plays a crucial role in shaping policy by shedding light on the key factors contributing to pensioners' well-being. It strongly advocates for the prioritization of investments in SMEs to ensure financial stability for pensioners. Additionally, the study underscores the significance of encouraging ongoing support from the children of pensioners, as this has been proven to significantly enhance both the quality of life and longevity of pensioners.

The Influence Of Product Innovation, Process Innovation And Service Innovation On The Marketing Performance Of Culinary Msmes In Oku District

The industrial sector is one of the important sectors in helping the economy progress, therefore the existence of industry as one of the pillars of the economy in OKU Regency has had an influence on the regional economy, even though demographically the livelihood of the majority of the population is as farmers. The policies implemented by the OKU Regency government in handling industry are directed at increasing industrial and craft growth, production and competitiveness, absorbing labor as well as creating a conducive business climate and increasing market share. The programs implemented to advance industry in OKU Regency are small and medium industry development programs and assistance (grants). Through small and medium industry development programs, we strive to improve the skills of entrepreneurs and craftsmen. Meanwhile, the development policy for the industrial, trade and SME cooperative sectors in OKU Regency is directed at growing, fostering and developing small and medium trade industries and cooperatives. The research method used in this research is a survey method conducted on 100 MSME research in OKU Regency. Analysis of the data processed in the research is primary and secondary data. Primary data is used for linear regression. Secondary data is used to look at MSME data in OKU Regency, while to answer problems, assessment criteria using a Likert scale are used, and to look at the influence of product innovation, process innovation and service innovation using linear regression analysis. Based on the analysis of the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the research results show that product innovation, process innovation and service innovation have an influence on marketing performance in OKU Regency.

Integrate the cultivation of innovative consciousness, entrepreneurial thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and abilities into traditional education to improve college students' learning ability and entrepreneurial will. K-Means Algorithm for Clustering Students Based on Areas of Expertise (A Case Study)

Every student of the Software Engineering Technology study program, the Computer and Informatics Department of the Politeknik Negeri Medan in the lecture process is required to take all the courses in the curriculum. From the courses in the curriculum, there are several subject groups that shape student expertise, such as Software Engineering, System Analyst, Database Administrator, and IT Entrepreneur. It is hoped that this expertise will later be used as a reference by students in carrying out their thesis at the end of lectures. The purpose of this study is to group students based on their respective expertise based on data processing of student course scores related to each skill. The data used is data on student scores for batches of 2020 and 2021 with a range of courses from semester 1 to semester 3. The data is tested by implementing the K-Means algorithm. The results of the tests that have been carried out show the grouping of students based on their expertise, with 7 times the number of iterations. Then, data testing was carried out with the RapidMiner application to get the results of the distribution of cluster members obtained, including 12 students occupying Software Engineer skills, 21 students with System Analyst skills, 5 students with Database Administrator skills, and 31 students with IT Entrepreneur skills, along with the distribution chart. Thus, the K-Means algorithm is quite good at grouping students based on their expertise

Educating the ‘Adivasis’: Understanding Ekal Vidyalayas Inside the Tea Gardens of Assam

Based on fieldwork in Tinsukia district of Assam, this article examines the interplay of Ekal, ideology and education among the Adivasis in the tea gardens. The Ekal schools are one-teacher, informal schools operated by the Sangh Parivar in the underprivileged regions of India and Nepal. Considering the backward status of Adivasis in these tea gardens, the official narrative of the school is to reduce the literacy gap among the community, impart sanskar and empower them with entrepreneurial skills. I argue that Ekal’s organisational structure and funding are corporate, and its conception of ‘empowerment’ is neoliberal. This works as an effective model for Hindutva as the Sangh seeks to bring popularly Christian-dominated tea gardens into its Hindutva fold. This is done by practices both inside and outside the school.

E-Learning system application in art entrepreneurship teaching based on multimodal feature fusion and neural network

College student entrepreneurship teams can leverage the advantages of mobile internet resource integration and online collaborative production platforms to easily integrate various resources, thereby achieving rapid start-up and development of entrepreneurial projects. This also makes the threshold for college students to start businesses lower and easier to achieve. This article designs an interactive aesthetic education and entrepreneurship teaching system based on multimodal feature fusion and interactive systems. The core concept of the interactive aesthetic education and entrepreneurship teaching system is multimodal feature fusion and interactive system. Multimodal feature fusion can integrate different teaching resources, so that students can better understand the factors that need to be considered in the entrepreneurial process and practice. Interactive systems can enable closer interaction and communication between students and teachers, thereby better understanding and mastering entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. The design and implementation of a systematic system will help enhance the entrepreneurial ability and quality of college students, help them better understand the entrepreneurial process and factors that need to be considered in practice, and provide entrepreneurial practice reference for students in Chinese universities who have the intention of designing entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurial Skills and Spirit of Students In Higher Vocational Colleges in Guangdong, China

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the employment landscape, making entrepreneurship a critical alternative for students in higher vocational colleges in Guangdong Province, China. This study investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial spirit and skills and entrepreneurial education among these students. Utilizing a sample of 623 students and 23 teachers from three higher vocational colleges, the research employs a descriptive-correlational-quantitative approach. The findings reveal a substantial interaction between entrepreneurial skills and education, demonstrating that entrepreneurship education effectively enhances students' entrepreneurial abilities and mindset. Teachers are integral in delivering this education, focusing on cultivating both professional skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. The study underscores the necessity for robust entrepreneurship education to prepare students for the challenges of the modern economy, promoting self-employment and job creation. By developing strategic planning, financial management, relationship management, and problem-solving skills, students are better equipped to navigate the complexities of starting and managing their own businesses. This research contributes to the understanding of how educational practices can foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem within vocational institutions, ultimately supporting economic growth and innovation. The results highlight the importance of comprehensive entrepreneurial education in vocational colleges to ensure students are well-prepared for future entrepreneurial endeavors.

Relationship between Art and Design Students’ Technical and Managerial Skill Traits and Their Entrepreneurial Skill Traits

The unavailability of jobs for graduates has become a gross concern in developing countries such as Nigeria, which is not necessarily contingent on graduates from any specific course of study, including art and design education. It is thus evident that proficiency in artistic or creative talent alone is insufficient to guarantee a thriving art and design career and the need to develop the required entrepreneurial propensity. This study, therefore, aims to evaluate the entrepreneurial skills and traits of art and design students in Nigerian higher education institutions (HEIs) as a remedy for stimulating their entrepreneurial tendencies. The hypothesized model of art and design students’ entrepreneurial traits was developed based on the theoretical framework developed from the literature as a three-factor construct (Model 1.0) comprising technical/soft skills, managerial skills, and entrepreneurial skills. Data was obtained using a structured Likert scale questionnaire of 36 items adapted from Yilzman & Sunbul’s entrepreneurial scale from a sample of 186 art and design students. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and thecovariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) via the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 and IBM SPSS Amos 26 Graphics software. The model fit results reveal that the goodness-of-fit statistics indexes fell within the acceptable range. The results of the hypotheses testing of the model show that no significant association exists between art and design students’ technical and entrepreneurial skill traits. However, there is a significant association betweentheir managerial and entrepreneurial skill traits. The outcome of this research has implications for TVET institutions in the arts and design field further to promote the development of students’ inherent entrepreneurial traits to boost their entrepreneurial tendencies.

Addressing Food Insecurity in South Sudan: Insights and Solutions from Young Entrepreneurs

This study explores food insecurity in South Sudan through the lens of young entrepreneurs, revealing insights into understanding the causes, coping strategies, and innovative solutions. Analyzing survey responses reveals a complicated problem linked to poverty, conflict, climate change, and economic instability. We surveyed 19 standout candidates selected from 325 South Sudanese participants from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR’s) hybrid training on entrepreneurship and agribusiness, who successfully passed the assessment criteria to attend a workshop in Hiroshima, Japan, in February 2024. These participants clearly depicted the dire circumstances, with widespread food insecurity, heavy reliance on humanitarian aid, and prevalent malnutrition, especially in conflict-affected regions like Yambio. Conflict, climate shocks, economic instability, and inadequate infrastructure emerged as primary drivers of food insecurity. Despite these challenges, young entrepreneurs express a keen desire to contribute to solutions, advocating for sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship, and education initiatives. During conflict, coping strategies vary from reducing meal frequency to diversifying diets and engaging in subsistence farming. The innovative solutions proposed include sustainable agricultural practices, value chain development, and technology adoption. The study underscores the urgent need for comprehensive strategies addressing the root causes of food insecurity while empowering communities and young entrepreneurs to foster resilience. Sustained support in youth agri-business capacity building and entrepreneurial skills development, increased agricultural investment, infrastructure enhancement, and targeted youth empowerment initiatives are emphasized. Through collaborative efforts, South Sudan can progress towards achieving resilience and improving food security.

The potential for digital businesses in Indonesia is very large and is expected to continue to grow. Therefore the main focus of this activity is to provide a better understanding of the potential outside the world of sport as well as the digital entrepreneurial skills needed to start and manage your own business. The service method is in the form of understanding the Entrepreneurial Mindset, Facilitating Business Logo Creation and Digital Entrepreneurship Skills. By involving expertise in entrepreneurship and training, this program is designed to empower athletes to create independent economic opportunities. Through this approach, it is hoped that athletes can overcome economic challenges after retiring from their sports careers and create a brighter future as successful digital entrepreneurs.
